1Current status of applying microwave-associated catalysis for the degradation of organics in aqueous phase – A review显示文摘Interactions between microwaves and certain catalysts can lead to efficient, energy-directed convergence of a relatively dispersed microwave field onto the reactive sites of the catalyst,which produces thermal or discharge effects around the catalyst. These interactions form'high-energy sites'(HeS) that promote energy efficient utilization and enhanced in situ degradation of organic pollutants. This article focuses on the processes occurring between microwaves and absorbing catalysts, and presents a critical review of microwave-absorbing mechanisms. This article also discusses aqueous phase applications of relevant catalysts(ironbased, carbon-based, soft magnetic, rare earth, and other types) and microwaves, special effects caused by the dimensions and structures of catalytic materials, and the optimization and design of relevant reactors for microwave-assisted catalysis of wastewater. 6Microwave-induced high-energy sites and targeted energy transition promising for efficient energy deployment显示文摘Diverse interactions between microwaves and irradiated media provide a solid foundation for identifying novel organization pathways for energy flow.In this study,a high-energy-site phenomenon and targeted-energy transition mechanism were identified in a particular microwave heating(MH)process.Intense discharges were observed when microwaves were imposed on irregularly sized SiC particles,producing tremendous heat that was 8-fold the amount generated in the discharge-free case.Energy efficiency was thereby greatly improved in the electricity-microwaves-effective heat transition.Meanwhile,the dispersed microwave field energy concentrated in small sites,where local temperatures could reach 2000℃–4000℃,with the energy density reaching up to 4.010^(5) W/kg.This can be called a high-energy site phenomenon which could induce further processes or reactions enhancement by coupling effects of heat,light,and plasma.The whole process,including microwave energy concentration and intense site-energy release,shapes a targeted-energy transition mechanism that can be optimized in a controlled manner through morphology design.In particular,the discharge intensity,frequency,and high-energy sites were strengthened through the fabrication of sharp nano/microstructures,conferring twice the energy efficiency of untreated metal wires.The microwave-induced high-energy sites and targeted energy transition provide an important pathway for high-efficiency energy deployment and may lead to promising applications.Jing SUN Guanqun YU Kui AN Wenlong WANG Biao WANG Zhenyu JIANG Chenggong SUN YanpengMAO Xiqiang ZHAO Zhanlong SONG 2022Frontiers in Energy2022,16,6:0

8Numerical study on the role of microwave-metal discharge in microwave pyrolysis of WPCBs显示文摘As a promising green technology,microwave heating is highlighted by its high efficiency and low consumption,especially in the fast pyrolysis treatment for e-waste recycling.Electric discharge induced by microwave-metal interaction plays a significant role in the process,and its contribution to heat generation is,however,always hard to define qualitatively through direct experiments.In this simulation,a microwave heating model featuring the pulsed microwave-metal(MW-m)discharge was designed in multi-dimensions,using COMSOL Multiphysics software,to emphatically probe the depth and extent of the hot-spot effect as well as its auxo-action on the pyrolysis process of waste printed circuit boards(WPCBs).The energy loss generated by MW-m discharge was added into the models in the form of a built-in fluctuating heat source,and it is found that at a relatively low microwave energy-to-heat conversion rate(31.5%,220.5 W),due to the unique thermal effect of microwave-metal discharge,it can achieve an ideal pyrolysis effect.Based on the results,the instantaneous heat by discharge is generated in the similar trend of radiation pulses,and the local temperature of discharge spots can reach more than 2000 K the instant the discharge occurs,shortening the overall pyrolysis from dozens of minutes to around 200 s.Zhenyu Jiang Jing Sun Wenlong Wang Huacheng Zhu Jingwei Li Zhanlong Song Xiqiang Zhao Yanpeng Mao Shouyan Chen 2021Waste Disposal and Sustainable Energy2021,3,3:0
9Systematic investigation of SO_(2) adsorption and desorption by porous powdered activated coke:Interaction between adsorption temperature and desorption energy consumption显示文摘Porous carbon materials have been widely used for the removal of SO_(2) from flue gas.The main objective of this work is to clarify the effects of adsorption temperature on SO_(2) adsorption and desorption energy consumption.Coal-based porous powdered activated coke(PPAC)prepared in the drop-tube reactor was used in this study.The N_(2) adsorption measurements and Fourier transform infrared spectrometer analysis show that PPAC exhibits a developed pore structure and rich functional groups.The experimental results show that with a decrease in adsorption temperature in the range of 50–150℃,the adsorption capacity of SO_(2) increases linearly;meanwhile,the adsorption capacity of H_(2)O increases,resulting in the increase in desorption energy consumption per unit mass of adsorbent.The processes of SO_(2) and H_(2)O desorption were determined by the temperature-programmed desorption test,and the desorption energies for each species were calculated.Considering the energy consumption per unit of desorption and the total amount of adsorbent,the optimal adsorption temperature yielding the minimum total energy consumption of regeneration is calculated.This study systematically demonstrates the effect of adsorption temperature on the adsorption–desorption process,providing a basis for energy saving and emission reduction in desulfurization system design.Jun Li Liqiang Zhang Xiao Zhu Mengze Zhang Tai Feng Xiqiang Zhao Tao Wang Zhanlong Song Chunyuan Ma 2022Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2022,35,8:0
10Tyrosine promotes anthocyanin biosynthesis in pansy(Viola×wittrockiana)by inducing ABA synthesis显示文摘Viola×wittrockiana(pansy)is an important ornamental plant,particularly during winter and spring.In previous studies,we found that the tyrosine decarboxylase gene of pansy(VwTYDC)was expressed differently in blotched and non-blotched areas of pansy petals,suggesting that tyrosine may have a role in anthocyanin biosynthesis.In this study,we found that virus-induced gene silencing of VwTYDC caused an accumulation of pink pigmentation in pansy petals.Likewise,exogenous tyrosine treatment(TYRT)induced the formation of black stripes in nonblotched petal areas.Metabolome analysis indicated that the contents of two anthocyanins,cyanidin-3-O-glucoside and cyanidin-3-O-rutinoside,increased significantly in the TYRT areas.RT-qPCR results revealed that the anthocyanin-related genes VwHCT,VwC3′H,VwCHS,and VwUGT were upregulated in the same areas.Transcriptome analysis revealed that four genes involved in the abscisic acid(ABA)biosynthesis pathway(VwNCED,VwABA2,VwAAO3,and VwCYP707A)were significantly upregulated in the same TYRT areas.ABA content was measured by ESI-HPLCMS/MS,and ABA content was significantly higher in TYRT areas than in control areas.In addition,when exogenous ABA was spread onto nonblotched petal areas,anthocyanin biosynthesis genes were upregulated just as with tyrosine.Thus,transcriptome and metabolite analyses revealed a possible novel regulatory network for anthocyanin biosynthesis in which tyrosine induces ABA synthesis and ABA then promotes anthocyanin biosynthesis in pansy petals.Zheng Cui Jia Gu Jie Li Anjin Zhao Yingge Fu Tongxin Wang Tingge Li Xueqing Li Yuhui Sheng Ying Zhao Xiqiang Song Yang Zhou Ting Peng Jian Wang 2022Tropical Plants2022,1,1:0
