| 1 | Effects of anaerobic composting on tetracycline degradation in swine manure显示文摘Oxytetracycline(OTC) and tetracycline(TC) are the most common TC antibiotics used in human and veterinary medicine.Residual amounts of these antibiotics in manure pose a potential threat to public and ecological health as a result of the potential for them to be released to the environment following land application of manure from animals treated with antibiotics.We investigated the degradation of OTC and TC during anaerobic composting.We tested the effects of temperature and antibiotic concentration on degradation rates in a control and in manure spiked with TCs.We examined changes in p H,biological degradation material(BDM),and moisture corresponding with antibiotic degradation of TCs in the swine manure.Results showed that the OTC and TC concentrations decreased by between 68.54% and 95.50% in all nine treatments following 14 days of anaerobic composting,and the highest removal ef ficiencies were observed at an incubation temperature of 55°C and initial concentrations of 10.36 μg·g^(-1),and 5.96 μg·g^(-1) of OTC and TC,respectively,which were degraded by 95.50%,and 90.06%.During composting at 55 °C and at added concentrations of 5 μg·g^(-1),OTC decreased rapidly,and the time required for50% and 90% degradation was 4.1 and 9.8 days,respectively;for TC,these values were 4.4 and 14.0 days,respectively.Removal ef ficiencies for all TCs correlated well with moisture content of the manure.These results show that composting may be a practical and useful means to reduce concentrations of OTC and TC in swine manure prior to its land application. | Yixuan Chu Chengran Fang Hua Wang Xinkai Wu Yijie Gu Ji Shu | 2017 | Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2017,25,10: | 6 |
| 2 | Acupoint application therapies for essential hypertension:a systematic review and Meta-analysis显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the efficacy and safety of acupoint application therapies(AA)for hypertension.METHODS:We searched Pub Med,EMBASE,the Cochrane Center Controlled Trials Register,Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure,Chinese Scientific Journal Database,and Wanfang Med Online Database from their inceptions to October 7,2019.No language restriction was applied.We included randomized clinical trials testing AA against Western Medicine,AA versus placebo,AA combined with Western Medicine versus Western Medicine.Study selection,data extraction,quality assessment,and data analyses were conducted according to the Cochrane standards.RESULTS:Totally 41 trials with 3772 participants were included.The methodological quality of the included trials was evaluated as generally low.AA plus Western Medicine significantly lowered systolic blood pressure(BP)[weighted mean difference(WMD):-10.36,95%confidence intervals(CI):-12.62,-8.10;P<0.00001],diastolic BP(WMD:-5.71,95%CI:-7.30,-4.13;P<0.00001),and total effect[risk ratio(RR):1.23,95%CI:1.15,1.32;P<0.00001].The BP-lowering effect of AA was significantly higher than that of placebo[systolic BP(SBP):-8.05,95%CI:-8.67,-7.43;P<0.00001;diastolic BP(DBP):-6.66,95%CI:-7.31,-6.01,P<0.00001].The total effect also improved significantly from baseline with AA than placebo(RR:10.85,95%CI:4.71,24.98;P<0.00001).Traditional Chinese Medicine symptoms score were significantly reduced by AA compared with Western Medicine(WMD:-1.75,95%CI:-2.52,-0.99;P<0.00001),10 trials reported adverse events,indicating that the safety of SSYX Capsule is still uncertain.CONCLUSIONS:Application therapies may be considered a safe and beneficial for the treatment of hypertension and can reduce BP and improve the total effect.Further well-designed trials are needed to support our conclusions. | LIU Wei XIONG Xingjiang QIAO Lumin CHEN Yuyi LI Yixuan SU Xing CHU Fuyong LIU Hongxu | 2022 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2022,42,2: | 1 |
| 3 | The RNA helicase DHX15 is a critical regulator of natural killer-cell homeostasis and functions显示文摘The RNA helicase DHX15 is widely expressed in immune cells and traditionally thought to be an RNA splicing factor or a viral RNA sensor.However,the role of DHX15 in NK-cell activities has not been studied thus far.Here,we generated Dhx15-floxed mice and found that conditional deletion of Dhx15 in NK cells(Ncr1CreDhx15fl/fl mice)resulted in a marked reduction in NK cells in the periphery and that the remaining Dhx15-deleted NK cells failed to acquire a mature phenotype.As a result,Dhx15-deleted NK cells exhibited profound defects in their cytolytic functions.We also found that deletion of Dhx15 in NK cells abrogated their responsiveness to IL-15,which was associated with inhibition of IL-2/IL-15Rβ(CD122)expression and IL-15R signaling.The defects in Dhx15-deleted NK cells were rescued by ectopic expression of a constitutively active form of STAT5.Mechanistically,DHX15 did not affect CD122 mRNA splicing and stability in NK cells but instead facilitated the surface expression of CD122,likely through interaction with its 3′UTR,which was dependent on the ATPase domain of DHX15 rather than its splicing domain.Collectively,our data identify a key role for DHX15 in regulating NK-cell activities and provide novel mechanistic insights into how DHX15 regulates the IL-15 signaling pathway in NK cells. | Guangchuan Wang Xiang Xiao Yixuan Wang Xiufeng Chu Yaling Dou Laurie J.Minze Rafik M.Ghobrial Zhiqiang Zhang Xian C.Li | 2022 | Cellular & Molecular Immunology2022,19,6: | 0 |
| 4 | A Novel Method to Improve the Physical Property and Biocompatibility of Decellularized Heart Valve Scaffold with Sericin and Polydopamine显示文摘Cardiac valve replacement is an effective method to treat valvular heart disease.Artificial valves used routinely in clinic still have defects.In our study,we explored a novel method to modify the performance of Decellularized Heart Valve(DHV)scaffold.The decellularized porcine aortic valve was prepared using sequential hydrophile and lipophile solubilization method.The sericin was extracted from silk fibroin-deficient silkworm cocoon by lithium bromide method.First,DHV was immersed in sericin solution to produce the sericin–DHV composite scaffold.Then,we modified the DHV by making a Polydopamine(PDA)coating on the DHV first and then binding the sericin.The physical properties and biological compatibility of our composite scaffold were assessed in vitro and in vivo.Sericin were successfully prepared,combined to DHV and improved its biocompatibility.PDA coating further promoted the combination of sericin on DHV and improved the physical properties of scaffolds.The decay rate of our modified valve scaffold was decreased in vivo and it showed good compatibility with blood.In conclusion,our modification improved the physical properties and biocompatibility of the valve scaffold.The combination of PDA and sericin promoted the recellularization of decellularized valves,showing great potential to be a novel artificial valve. | Peng Bai Gangcheng Kong Weihua Qiao Yu Song Yixuan Wang Jiawei Shi Nan Zhang Chungeng Liu Chong Chu Tixiusi Xiong Ying Zhou Cuifen Lu Lin Wang Nianguo Dong | 2022 | Journal of Bionic Engineering2022,19,4: | 0 |
| 5 | Bioinspired Multifunctional Self-Sensing Actuated Gradient Hydrogel for Soft-Hard Robot Remote Interaction显示文摘The development of bioinspired gradient hydrogels with self-sensing actuated capabilities for remote interaction with soft-hard robots remains a challenging endeavor. Here, we propose a novel multifunctional self-sensing actuated gradient hydrogel that combines ultrafast actuation and high sensitivity for remote interaction with robotic hand. The gradient network structure, achieved through a wettability difference method involving the rapid precipitation of MoO_(2) nanosheets, introduces hydrophilic disparities between two sides within hydrogel. This distinctive approach bestows the hydrogel with ultrafast thermo-responsive actuation(21° s^(-1)) and enhanced photothermal efficiency(increase by 3.7 ℃ s^(-1) under 808 nm near-infrared). Moreover, the local cross-linking of sodium alginate with Ca^(2+) endows the hydrogel with programmable deformability and information display capabilities. Additionally, the hydrogel exhibits high sensitivity(gauge factor 3.94 within a wide strain range of 600%), fast response times(140 ms) and good cycling stability. Leveraging these exceptional properties, we incorporate the hydrogel into various soft actuators, including soft gripper, artificial iris, and bioinspired jellyfish, as well as wearable electronics capable of precise human motion and physiological signal detection. Furthermore, through the synergistic combination of remarkable actuation and sensitivity, we realize a self-sensing touch bioinspired tongue. Notably, by employing quantitative analysis of actuation-sensing, we realize remote interaction between soft-hard robot via the Internet of Things.
