| 1 | Application of shear-sensitive liquid crystal coating to visualization of transition and reattachment in compressor cascade显示文摘The present paper aims at introducing Shear-Sensitive Liquid Crystal Coating(SSLCC)technology into compressor cascade measurement for the first time and serves as a basis for better understanding of the influence from the boundary layers. Optical path layout, which is the most significant difficulty in internal flow field measurement, will be solved in this paper by selfdesigned image acquisition device. Massive experiments with different Mach number and incidence are conducted at a continuous subsonic cascade wind tunnel to capture the boundary layer phenomenon. Image processing methods, such as Three-Dimensional(3-D) reconstruction and Hue conversion, are used to improve the accuracy for transition position detection. The analysis of the color-images indicates that complex flow phenomena including transition, flow separation,and reattachment are captured successfully, and the effect of Mach number and incidence on the boundary layer flow is also discussed. | 2 | Development of a fine-resolution atmosphere-wave-ocean coupled forecasting model for the South China Sea and its adjacent seas显示文摘A 72-h fine-resolution atmosphere-wave-ocean coupled forecasting system was developed for the South China Sea and its adjacent seas. The forecasting model domain covers from from 15°S to 45°N in latitude and 99°E to135°E in longitude including the Bohai Sea, the Yellow Sea, the East China Sea, the South China Sea and the Indonesian seas. To get precise initial conditions for the coupled forecasting model, the forecasting system conducts a 24-h hindcast simulation with data assimilation before forecasting. The Ensemble Adjustment Kalman Filter(EAKF) data assimilation method was adopted for the wave model MASNUM with assimilating Jason-2 significant wave height(SWH) data. The EAKF data assimilation method was also introduced to the ROMS model with assimilating sea surface temperature(SST), mean absolute dynamic topography(MADT) and Argo profiles data. To improve simulation of the structure of temperature and salinity, the vertical mixing scheme of the ocean model was improved by considering the surface wave induced vertical mixing and internal wave induced vertical mixing. The wave and current models were integrated from January 2014 to October 2015 driven by the ECMWF reanalysis 6 hourly mean dataset with data assimilation. Then the coupled atmosphere-wave-ocean forecasting system was carried out 14 months operational running since November 2015. The forecasting outputs include atmospheric forecast products, wave forecast products and ocean forecast products. A series of observation data are used to evaluate the coupled forecasting results, including the wind, SHW, ocean temperature and velocity.The forecasting results are in good agreement with observation data. | 3 | Phylogenetic patterns suggest frequent multiple origins of secondary metabolites across the seed-plant‘tree of life’显示文摘To evaluate the phylogenetic patterns of the distribution and evolution of plant secondary metabolites(PSMs),we selected 8 classes of PSMs and mapped them onto an updated phylogenetic tree including 437 families of seed plants.A significant phylogenetic signal was detected in 17 of the 18 tested seed-plant clades for at least 1 of the 8 PSM classes using the D statistic.The phylogenetic signal,nevertheless,indicated weak clustering of PSMs compared to a random distribution across all seed plants.The observed signal suggests strong diversifying selection during seed-plant evolution and/or relatively weak evolutionary constraints on the evolution of PSMs.In the survey of the current phylogenetic distributions of PSMs,we found that multiple origins of PSM biosynthesis due to external selective forces for diverse genetic pathways may have played important roles.In contrast,a single origin of PSMs seems rather uncommon.The distribution patterns for PSMs observed in this study may also be useful in the search for natural compounds for medicinal purposes. | Yongzeng Zhang Tao Deng Lu Sun Jacob B.Landis Michael J.Moore Hengchang Wang Yuehua Wang Xiaojiang Hao Jijun Chen Shenghong Li Maonian Xu Pema-Tenzin Puno Peter H.Raven Hang Sun | 2021 | National Science Review2021,8,4: | 1 |
