2Variations in paleoproductivity and the environmental implications over the past six decades in the Changjiang Estuary显示文摘Total organic carbon and organic carbon stable isotope, biogenic silica, chlorin were measured from a high resolution sediment core to indicate the variation in paleoproductivity and the environmental implications over the past decades (1942 to 1997) in the Changjiang Estuary. Based on these biomarkers, the shift in the phytoplankton community structure in the past decades was discussed in response to the long-term variations in nutrient concentrations and nutrient ratios. The results showed that the δ 13 C values varied from –26.15‰ to –19.5‰, suggesting the combined organic carbon sources of riverine and marine organisms. Based on the biogenic proxies, paleoproductivity changes were categorized into three stages: low production before 1950; an increase in production with the dominance of diatoms during 1950 to 1980, consistent with increasing of nutrient concentrations; a decrease in production after 1980 when the diatom production decreased while the production of non-silicious phytoplankton increased due to high nutrient inputs, and high N/P and P/Si ratios in the Changjiang Estuary. 3Phytoplankton composition and its ecological effect in subsurface cold pool of the northern Bering Sea in summer as revealed by HPLC derived pigment signatures显示文摘CHEMTAX analysis of high-performance liquid chromatography(HPLC) pigment was conducted to study phytoplankton community structure in the northern Bering Sea shelf, where a seasonal subsurface cold pool emerges. The results showed that fucoxanthin(Fuco) and chlorophyll a(Chl a) were the most abundant diagnostic pigments, with the integrated water column values ranging from 141 to 2 160 μg/m2 and 477 to 5 535 μg/m2, respectively. Moreover, a diatom bloom was identified at Sta. BB06 with the standing stock of Fuco up to 9 214 μg/m3. The results of CHEMTAX suggested that the phytoplankton community in the northern Bering Sea shelf was dominated by diatoms and chrysophytes with an average relative contribution to Chl a of 80% and 12%, respectively, followed by chlorophytes, dinoflagellates, and cryptophytes. Diatoms were the absolutely dominant algae in the subsurface cold pool with a relative contribution exceeding 90%, while the contribution of chrysophytes was generally higher in oligotrophic upper water. 4Composition of algal pigments in surface freshen layer after ice melt in the central Arctic显示文摘Seasonal meltwater input creates a thin freshen layer in surface seawater under ice,which largely shifts the algae assemblages.Our recent observation of photosynthetic pigments in the high Arctic showed that ice bottom and 5m of seawater under ice contained relatively high concentration of fucoxanthin,while chlorophyll b and lutein were the major diagnostic pigments in ice-water interface and 0 m of seawater under ice.Additionally,a notable change of dominant phytoplankton occurred in the top 5 m of seawater under ice,from chlorophytes-dominated at surface to diatoms-dominated at 5 m depth,which might attribute to the sharp salinity gradient(salinity from12.5 to 28.1) in the surface seawater under ice.Our results imply that phytoplankton community in surface layer under ice would become more chlorophytes in the future warming Arctic Ocean.ZHUANG Yanpei JIN Haiyan GU Fan ZHANG Yang BAI Youcheng JI Zhongqiang LU Yong CHEN lianfang 2017Acta Oceanologica Sinica2017,36,8:6
5Variations in organic carbon loading of surface sediments from the shelf to the slope of the Chukchi Sea,Arctic Ocean显示文摘The content of organic carbon(OC) normalized to the specific surface area(SSA) of sediment is widely used to trace variations in OC loading(OC/SSA).This study presents observations of OC/SSA of surface sediments collected in the Chukchi Sea,a typical Arctic marginal sea.Shelf sediments exhibit much higher OC/SSA values than slope sediments in the study area.Compared with OC/SSA values reported from the East Siberian Shelf and Mackenzie River,the slope sediments possess lower OC loading.This abrupt decrease in OC/SSA is mostly related to the lower primary production on slope as well as possible oxidization processes.The results of linear regression analysis between OC and SSA indicate a sedimentary source rock for the OC in the Chukchi Sea sediments.Moreover,shelf sediments with low SSA possess a larger rock OC fraction than slope sediments do.The dataset of the present study enables a more thorough understanding of regional OC cycling in the Chukchi Sea.LI Zhongqiao WANG Xinyi JIN Haiyan JI Zhongqiang BAI Youcheng CHEN Jianfang 2017Acta Oceanologica Sinica2017,36,8:6

9Concave Cu-Pd bimetallic nanocrystals: Ligand-based Co-reduction and mechanistic study显示文摘The synthesis of highly uniform alloy nanocrystals with a concave feature is desirable for applications in catalysis but is an arduous task. This article proposes an initiative protocol for the fabrication of novel Cu-Pd alloy nanocrystals, wherein the volume of decylamine (DA) in the reaction system was found to greatly influence the formation of different morphologies, including the tetrahedron (TH), concave tetrahedron (CTH), rhombohedral-tetrapod (RTP), and tetrapod (TP). The alloy structure of the products arises from the coordination interaction between the DA and metal ions, which affects the reduction potential of Cu and Pd species, and thus yields co-reduction. Other reaction parameters, such as the type of ligand, amount of reductant, and temperature, were also altered to study the growth mechanism, yielding consistent conclusions in the diffusion-controlled regime. 12Ginsenoside Rh2 suppresses colon cancer growth by targeting the miR-150-3p/SRCIN1/Wnt axis显示文摘Ginsenoside Rh2,which is extracted from ginseng,exerts antitumor activity.Recent studies suggest that Rh2 may suppress the growth of colon cancer(CC)in vitro.However,the underlying mechanism remains unclear.In this study,we identified the relative levels of miR-150-3p in CC tissues and cells by a comprehensive strategy of data mining,computational biology,and real-time reverse transcription PCR(qRT-PCR)experiments.The regulatory effects of miR-150-3p/SRCIN1 on the proliferative and invasive abilities of CC cells are evaluated by CCK-8,EdU,wound healing,and transwell assays.Cell cycle-and apoptosis-related protein levels are assessed by western blot analysis.An in vivo tumor formation assay was conducted to explore the effects of miR-150-3p on tumor growth.Furthermore,bioinformatics and dual luciferase reporter assays are applied to determine the functional binding of miRNA to mRNA of the target gene.Finally,the relationship between Rh2 and miR-150-3p was further verified in SW620 and HCT-116 cells.miR-150-3p is downregulated in CC tissues and cell lines.Functional assays indicate that the upregulation of miR-150-3p inhibits tumor growth both in vivo and in vitro.In addition,SRCIN1 is upregulated in CC and predicts a poor prognosis,and it is the direct target for miR-150-3p.Moreover,the miR-150-3p mimic decreases Topflash/Fopflash-dependent luciferase activity,resulting in the inhibition of Wnt pathway activity.Rh2 can suppress the growth of CC by increasing miR-150-3p expression.Rh2 alleviates the accelerating effect on Wnt pathway activity,cell proliferation/migration,and colony formation caused by miR-150-3p inhibition.Rh2 inhibits the miR-150-3p/SRCIN1/Wnt axis to suppress colon cancer growth.Shipeng Li Wenfeng Han Qichen He Yang Wang Gang Jin Youcheng Zhang 2023Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2023,55,4:2
13Formalin-induced astrocyte glutamate-glutamine cycle involved in rat spinal cord central sensitization显示文摘BACKGROUND:Central sensitization,a state of increased excitability of nociceptive neurons in the spinal dorsal horn following peripheral tissue injury and/or inflammation,is an important mechanism underlying hyperalgesia and neuropathic pain.Participation of the glutamate-glutamine cycle in central sensitization of the spinal cord remains poorly understood. OBJECTIVE:To determine whether the astrocyte-neuronal glutamate-glutamine cycle is involved in formalin-induced central sensitization in the spinal cord. DESIGN,TIME AND SETTING:A randomized,controlled,animal experiment was performed at the Institute of Orthopedics,Second Hospital,Lanzhou University,China from September 2007 to August 2008. MATERIALS:Methionine sulfoximine(MSO,0.1 mmol/L),glutamine(0.25 mmol/L),and formalin were used for this study. METHODS:A total of 43 male,Sprague Dawley rats,aged 4 months,were randomly assigned to a sham operation group(n = 6) and a model group(n = 37).Rats in the model group received intrathecal infusion in the spinal cord.7 days later,37 model rats were randomly divided into PBS, MSO,glutamine,MSO + glutamine and formalin subcutaneous injection alone groups.The PBS, MSO,glutamine,MSO + glutamine groups were respectively intrathecally injected with PBS,MSO, glutamine,MSO + glutamine(50μL each),and then infused with 10μL of saline.Rats from the sham operation group were not subjected to intrathecal infusion in the spinal cord.At 15 minutes after intrathecal injection,a rat model of formalin-induced inflammatory pain was established by subcutaneous injection of 5%formalin(50μL) in the left hindpaw. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES:Changes in spontaneous nociceptive behavior(licking/biting or flinching) were observed following formalin injection into the rat hindpaw. RESULTS:Compared with the PBS group,duration of licking/biting was significantly shortened,and flinching frequency was significantly diminished in the MSO group(P<0.05).Compared with the MSO group,duration of licking/biting was significantly prolonged,and flinching frequency was significantly increased in the MSO + glutamine group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in inflammatory pain behaviors among the sham operation,PBS,glutamine,MSO + glutamine,and formalin subcutaneous injection alone groups(P>0.05). 15Electron transfer reactions of piperidine aminoxyl radicals显示文摘This review article summarizes the electron transfer reactions of piperidine aminoxyl radicals. Electrochemical studies revealed the single electron transfer nature of piperidine aminoxyl radicals. In solution, piperidine aminoxyl radicals serve as single electron transfer oxidation reagent to react with various biologically interesting molecules such as glutathione, cysteine, ascorbic acid, and amines. The reaction product distribution, reaction kinetics, intermediates, and the reaction features in biological mimic environments including micelles and cyclodextrins were investigated. Oxoammonium salts, the one-electron transfer oxidation products of piperidine aminoxyl radicals, are agents of organic synthesis to selectively generate ketones or di-ketones from alcohols or ketones bearing α-methylene group under mild conditions.
