| 1 | Network Pharmacology in Research of Chinese Medicine Formula: Methodology, Application and Prospective显示文摘Chinese medicine(CM) is usually prescribed as CM formula to treat disease. The lack of effective research approach makes it difficult to elucidate the molecular mechanisms of CM formula owing to its complicated chemical compounds. Network pharmacology is increasingly applied in CM formula research in recent years, which is identified suitable for the study of CM formula. In this review, we summarized the methodology of network pharmacology, including network construction, network analysis and network verification. The aim of constructing a network is to achieve the interaction between the bioactive compounds and targets and the interaction between various targets, and then find out and validate the key nodes via network analysis and network verification. Besides, we reviewed the application in CM formula research, mainly including targets discovery, bioactive compounds screening, toxicity evaluation, mechanism research and quality control research. | 3 | A meta-analysis of heavy metals pollution in farmland and urban soils in China over the past 20 years显示文摘A total of 713 research papers about field monitor experiments of heavy metals in farmland and urban soils in China,published from 2000 to 2019,were obtained.A meta-analysis was conducted to evaluate the level of China's heavy metal pollution in soils,mainly focusing on eight heavy metals.It was found that the average concentrations of cadmium(Cd),lead(Pb),zinc(Zn),copper(Cu),mercury(Hg),chromium(Cr),nickel(Ni),and arsenic(As)in China were 0.19,30.74,85.86,25.81,0.074,67.37,27.77 and 8.89 mg/kg,respectively.Compared with the background value(0.097 mg/kg),the Cd content showed a twofold(0.19 mg/kg)rise in farmland soils and a threefold(0.29 mg/kg)rise in urban soils.The decreasing order of the mean Igeo was Cd(1.77)>Pb(0.62)>Zn(0.60)>Cu(0.58)>Hg(0.57)>Cr(0.54)>Ni(0.47)>As(0.28).Nearly 33.54%and 44.65%of sites in farmland and urban soils were polluted with Cd.The average concentrations of eight heavy metals were not sensitive change in recent two decades in farmland and urban soils.The average P_n values for urban(2.52)and farmland(2.15)soils showed that heavy metal pollution in urban soils was more serious than that in farmland,and the middle Yangtze River regions,where industrial activity dominates,were the most polluted.The meta-analysis comprehensively evaluated the current pollution situation of soil heavy metal,and provided important basis for soil management and environment prevention in China. | Xuehong Yuan Nandong Xue Zhiguang Han | 2021 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2021,33,3: | 46 |

| 5 | Droid Detector:Android Malware Characterization and Detection Using Deep Learning显示文摘Smartphones and mobile tablets are rapidly becoming indispensable in daily life. Android has been the most popular mobile operating system since 2012. However, owing to the open nature of Android, countless malwares are hidden in a large number of benign apps in Android markets that seriously threaten Android security. Deep learning is a new area of machine learning research that has gained increasing attention in artificial intelligence. In this study, we propose to associate the features from the static analysis with features from dynamic analysis of Android apps and characterize malware using deep learning techniques. We implement an online deep-learning-based Android malware detection engine(Droid Detector) that can automatically detect whether an app is a malware or not. With thousands of Android apps, we thoroughly test Droid Detector and perform an indepth analysis on the features that deep learning essentially exploits to characterize malware. The results show that deep learning is suitable for characterizing Android malware and especially effective with the availability of more training data. Droid Detector can achieve 96.76% detection accuracy, which outperforms traditional machine learning techniques. | 7 | Ambient volatile organic compounds pollution in China显示文摘Owing to rapid economic and industrial development,China has been suffering from degraded air quality and visibility. Volatile organic compounds(VOCs)are important precursors to the formation of ground-level ozone and hence photochemical smog. Some VOCs adversely affect human health. Therefore,VOCs have recently elicited public concern and given new impetus to scientific interest. China is now implementing a series of polices to control VOCs pollution. The key to formulating policy is understanding the ambient VOCs pollution status. This paper mainly analyzes the species,levels,sources,and spatial distributions of VOCs in ambient air. The results show that the concentrations of ambient VOCs in China are much higher than those of developed countries such as the United States and Japan,especial benzene,which exceeds available standards. At the same time,the ozone formation potential(OFP)and secondary organic aerosol formation potential(SOAFP)of various VOCs are calculated. Aromatics and alkenes have much higher OFPs,while aromatics have higher SOAFP. | 12 | Preoperative diagnosis of malignant pulmonary nodules in lung cancer screening with a radiomics nomogram显示文摘Background:Lung cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer worldwide.Its survival rate can be significantly improved by early screening.Biomarkers based on radiomics features have been found to provide important physiological information on tumors and considered as having the potential to be used in the early screening of lung cancer.In this study,we aim to establish a radiomics model and develop a tool to improve the discrimination between benign and malignant pulmonary nodules.Methods:A retrospective study was conducted on 875 patients with benign or malignant pulmonary nodules who underwent computed tomography(CT)examinations between June 2013 and June 2018.We assigned 612 patients to a training cohort and 263 patients to a validation cohort.Radiomics features were extracted from the CT images of each patient.Least absolute shrinkage and selection operator(LASSO)was used for radiomics feature selection and radiomics score calculation.Multivariate logistic regression analysis was used to develop a classification model and radiomics nomogram.Radiomics score and clinical variables were used to distinguish benign and malignant pulmonary nodules in logistic model.The performance of the radiomics nomogram was evaluated by the area under the curve(AUC),calibration curve and Hosmer-Lemeshow test in both the training and validation cohorts.Results:A radiomics score was built and consisted of 20 features selected by LASSO from 1288 radiomics features in the training cohort.The multivariate logistic model and radiomics nomogram were constructed using the radiomics score and patients’age.Good discrimination of benign and malignant pulmonary nodules was obtained from the training cohort(AUC,0.836;95%confidence interval[CI]:0.793-0.879)and validation cohort(AUC,0.809;95%CI:0.745-0.872).The Hosmer-Lemeshow test also showed good performance for the logistic regression model in the training cohort(P=0.765)and validation cohort(P=0.064).Good alignment with the calibration curve indicated the good performance of the nomogram.Conclusions:The established radiomics nomogram is a noninvasive preoperative prediction tool for malignant pulmonary nodule diagnosis.Validation revealed that this nomogram exhibited excellent discrimination and calibration capacities,suggesting its clinical utility in the early screening of lung cancer. | Ailing Liu Zhiheng Wang Yachao Yang Jingtao Wang Xiaoyu Dai Lijie Wang Yuan Lu Fuzhong Xue | 2020 | Cancer Communications2020,40,1: | 22 |

| 15 | Transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt vs endoscopic therapy in preventing variceal rebleeding显示文摘AIM:To compare early use of transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt(TIPS) with endoscopic treatment(ET) for the prophylaxis of recurrent variceal bleeding.METHODS:In-patient data were collected from 190 patients between January 2007 and June 2010 who suffured from variceal bleeding.Patients who were older than 75 years;previously received surgical treatment or endoscopic therapy for variceal bleeding;and complicated with hepatic encephalopathy or hepatic cancer,were excluded from this research.Thirty-five cases lost to follow-up were also excluded.Retrospective analysis was done in 126 eligible cases.Among them,64 patients received TIPS(TIPS group) while 62 patients received endoscopic therapy(ET group).The relevant data were collected by patient review or telephone calls.The occurrence of rebleeding,hepatic encephalopathy or other complications,survival rateand cost of treatment were compared between the two groups.RESULTS:During the follow-up period(median,20.7 and 18.7 mo in TIPS and ET groups,respectively),rebleeding from any source occurred in 11 patients in the TIPS group as compared with 31 patients in the ET group(Kaplan-Meier analysis and log-rank test,P = 0.000).Rebleeding rates at any time point(6 wk,1 year and 2 year) in the TIPS group were lower than in the ET group(Bonferroni correction α' = α/3).Eight patients in the TIPS group and 16 in the ET group died with the cumulative survival rates of 80.6% and 64.9%(Kaplan-Meier analysis and log-rank test c2 = 4.864,P = 0.02),respectively.There was no significant difference between the two groups with respect to 6-wk survival rates(Bonferroni correction α' = α/3).However,significant differences were observed between the two groups in the 1-year survival rates(92% and 79%) and the 2-year survival rates(89% and 64.9%)(Bonferroni correction α' = α/3).No significant differences were observed between the two treatment groups in the occurrence of hepatic encephalopathy(12 patients in TIPS group and 5 in ET group,KaplanMeier analysis and log-rank test,c2 = 3.103,P = 0.08).The average total cost for the TIPS group was higher than for ET group(Wilcxon-Mann Whitney test,52 678 RMB vs 38 844 RMB,P < 0.05),but hospitalization frequency and hospital stay during follow-up period were lower(Wilcxon-Mann Whitney test,0.4 d vs 1.3 d,P = 0.01;5 d vs 19 d,P < 0.05).CONCLUSION:Early use of TIPS is more effective than endoscopic treatment in preventing variceal rebleeding and improving survival rate,and does not increase occurrence of hepatic encephalopathy. | Hui Xue Meng Zhang Jack XQ Pang Fei Yan Ying-Chao Li Liang-Shan Lv Jia Yuan Muna Palikhe Wei-Zhi Li Zhi-Lun Wang | 2012 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2012,18,48: | 17 |
| 16 | Full-thickness tissue engineered skin constructed with autogenic bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells显示文摘To explore the feasibility of repairing clinical cutaneous deficiency, autogenic bone marrow mesen-chymal stem cells (BMSCs) were isolated and differentiated into epidermal cells and fibroblasts in vitro supplemented with different inducing factors and biomaterials to construct functional tissue- engineered skin. The results showed that after 72 h induction, BMSCs displayed morphologic changes such as typical epidermal cell arrangement, from spindle shape to round or oval; tonofibrils, melano-somes and keratohyaline granules were observed under a transmission electronic microscope. The differentiated cells expressed epidermal stem cell surface marker CK19 (59.66% ± 4.2%) and epidermal cells differentiation marker CK10. In addition, the induced epidermal cells acquired the anti-radiation capacity featured by lowered apoptosis following exposure to UVB. On the other hand, the collagen microfibrils deposition was noticed under a transmission electronic microscope after differentiating into dermis fibroblasts; RT-PCR identified collagen type I mRNA expression in differentiated cells; radioimmunoassay detected the secretion of interleukin-6 (IL-6) and interleukin-8 (IL-8) (up to 115.06 pg/mL and 0.84 ng/mL, respectively). Further in vivo implanting BMSCs with scaffold material short-ened skin wound repair significantly.
