3N-phosphoryl amino acid models for P–N bonds in prebiotic chemical evolution显示文摘Post-translational modification of proteins by N-phosphorylation of the basic amino acid residues plays important roles in biological processes. The high-energy P–N bond might have contributed to the evolution of prebiotic chemistry. N-phosphoryl amino acids(PAAs) can serve as interesting small molecular models for the study of P–N bonds in prebiotic chemical evolution. PAAs are capable of simultaneously producing several important biomolecules such as polypeptides and oligonucleotides under mild reaction conditions. In this review, we describe the chemistry of PAAs, discusse their likely prebiotic origins and their reactivity and how they relate to biological P–N bond species. 4Exploring the binding mechanism of thioflavin-T to the β-amyloid peptide by blind docking method显示文摘Using blind dock method,we find that thioflavin-T(ThT) can bind to both monomers and fibrils of the full-length β-amyloid peptide(Aβ1-42) and has a higher binding affinity to the fibrils.It is shown that the hydrophobic interaction between the ligand(ThT) and substrate(Aβ1-42) are stronger than hydrogen bonds.Furthermore,ThT tends to be located near the C-terminus of Aβ monomer through hydrophobic and electrostatic interactions,while it tends to contact the residues Met35 and Gly27 of the fibril surface mainly through hydrophobic interaction.Finally,according to the docking results and ThT fluorescence assay,a kinetic equation is proposed to deduce the aggregation rate coefficient of Aβ1-42.ZHAO DeSheng CHEN YongXiang LIU Qian ZHAO YuFen LI YanMei 2012Science China Chemistry2012,55,1:3

8Suppression of ETI by PTI priming to balance plant growth and defense through an MPK3/MPK6-WRKYs-PP2Cs module显示文摘Pattern-triggered immunity(PTI)and effector-triggered immunity(ETI)are required for host defense against pathogens.Although PTI and ETI are intimately connected,the underlying molecular mechanisms remain elusive.In this study,we demonstrate that flg22 priming attenuates Pseudomonas syringae pv.tomato DC3000(Pst)AvrRpt2-induced hypersensitive cell death,resistance,and biomass reduction in Arabidopsis.Mitogen-activated protein kinases(MAPKs)are key signaling regulators of PTI and ETI.The absence of MPK3 and MPK6 significantly reduces pre-PTI-mediated ETI suppression(PES).We found that MPK3/MPK6 interact with and phosphorylate the downstream transcription factor WRKY18,which regulates the expression of AP2C1 and PP2C5,two genes encoding protein phosphatases.Furthermore,we observed that the PTI-suppressed ETI-triggered cell death,MAPK activation,and growth retardation are significantly attenuated in wrky18/40/60 and ap2c1 pp2c5 mutants.Taken together,our results suggest that the MPK3/MPK6-WRKYs-PP2Cs module underlies PES and is essential for the maintenance of plant fitness during ETI.Dacheng Wang Lirong Wei Ting Liu Jinbiao Ma Keyi Huang Huimin Guo Yufen Huang Lei Zhang Jing Zhao Kenichi Tsuda Yiming Wang 2023Molecular Plant2023,16,5:1

12Insight into the critical factors determining the particle number concentrations during summer at a megacity in China显示文摘To identify the critical factors impacting the number concentration of particles with the aerodynamic diameters less than 2.5 μm(PNC_(2.5)), the continuous measurement of PNC_(2.5),chemical components in PM_(2.5), gaseous pollutants and meteorological conditions were conducted at an urban site in Tianjin in June 2015. Results indicated that the average PNC_(2.5) was 2839 ± 2430 d N/dlog Dp 1/cm^3 during the campaign. Compared to other meteorological parameters, the relative humidity(RH) had the strongest relationship with PNC_(2.5), with a Pearson's correlation coefficient of 0.53, and RH larger than 30% influenced strongly PNC_(2.5).The important influence of secondary reactions on PNC_(2.5) was inferred due to higher correlation coefficients between PNC_(2.5) and SO_4^(2-), NO_3^-, NH_4^+(r = 0.78–0.89; p < 0.01) and between PNC_(2.5) and ratios that represent the conversion of nitrogen and sulfur oxides to particulate matter(r = 0.42–0.49; p < 0.01). Under specific RH conditions, there were even stronger correlations between PNC_(2.5) and NO_3^-, SO_4^(2-), NH_4^+, while those between PNC_(2.5) and EC, OC were relatively weak, especially when RH exceeded 50%. Principal component analysis(PCA) and Pearson's correlation analysis indicated that secondary sources, vehicle emission and coal combustion might be major contributors to PNC_(2.5). Backward trajectory and potential source contribution function(PSCF) analysis suggested that the transport of air masses originated from these regions around Tianjin(Liaoning, Hebei, Shandong and Jiangsu) influenced critically PNC_(2.5). 13A Fault Detection Mechanism in Erasure-Code Byzantine Fault-Tolerance Quorum显示文摘Fault-tolerance is increasingly significant for large-scale storage systems in which Byzantine failure of storage nodes may happen. Traditional Byzantine Quorum systems that tolerate Byzantine failures by using replication have two main limitations: low space-efficiency and static quorum variables. We propose an Erasure-code Byzantine Fault-tolerance Quorum that can provide high reliability with far lower storage overhead than replication by adopting erasure code as redundancy scheme. Through read/write operations of clients and diagnose operation of supervisor, our Quorum system can detect Byzantine nodes, and dynamically adjust system size and fault threshold.
