2PGE2 activates EP4 in subchondral bone osteoclasts to regulate osteoarthritis显示文摘Prostaglandin E2(PGE2), a major cyclooxygenase-2(COX-2) product, is highly secreted by the osteoblast lineage in the subchondral bone tissue of osteoarthritis(OA) patients. However, NSAIDs, including COX-2 inhibitors, have severe side effects during OA treatment. Therefore, the identification of novel drug targets of PGE2 signaling in OA progression is urgently needed. Osteoclasts play a critical role in subchondral bone homeostasis and OA-related pain. However, the mechanisms by which PGE2 regulates osteoclast function and subsequently subchondral bone homeostasis are largely unknown. Here, we show that PGE2 acts via EP4 receptors on osteoclasts during the progression of OA and OA-related pain. Our data show that while PGE2 mediates migration and osteoclastogenesis via its EP2 and EP4 receptors, tissue-specific knockout of only the EP4 receptor in osteoclasts(EP4 Lys M) reduced disease progression and osteophyte formation in a murine model of OA. Furthermore, OA-related pain was alleviated in the EP4 Lys M mice, with reduced Netrin-1 secretion and CGRP-positive sensory innervation of the subchondral bone. The expression of plateletderived growth factor-BB(PDGF-BB) was also lower in the EP4 Lys Mmice, which resulted in reduced type H blood vessel formation in subchondral bone. Importantly, we identified a novel potent EP4 antagonist, HL-43, which showed in vitro and in vivo effects consistent with those observed in the EP4 Lys Mmice. Finally, we showed that the Gαs/PI3 K/AKT/MAPK signaling pathway is downstream of EP4 activation via PGE2 in osteoclasts. 7Phase diagram of the CsBr-CaBr_2 system显示文摘The phase diagram of the CsBr-CaBr2 system was re-determined by using differential thermal analysis and high temperature and room temperature X-ray diffraction analysis. It is concluded that there are three intermediate compounds in this system: a congruently melting compound, CsCaBr3, with a melting point of 823°C and two incongruently melting compounds, Cs2CaBr4 and Cs3Ca2Br7, whose peritectic points being 597°C and 635°C, respectively. 9Highly sensitive piezoresistive and thermally responsive fibrous networks from the in situ growth of PEDOT on MWCNT-decorated electrospun PU fibers for pressure and temperature sensing显示文摘Flexible electronics have demonstrated various strategies to enhance the sensory ability for tactile perception and wearable physiological monitoring.Fibrous microstructures have attracted much interest because of their excellent mechanical properties and fabricability.Herein,a structurally robust fibrous mat was first fabricated by electrospinning,followed by a sequential process of functionalization utilizing ultrasonication treatment and in situ polymerization growth.Electrospun polyurethane(PU)microfibers were anchored with multi-walled carbon nanotubes(MWCNTs)to form conductive paths along each fiber by a scalable ultrasonic cavitation treatment in an MWCNT suspension.After,a layer of poly(3,4-ethylene dioxythiophene)(PEDOT)was grown on the surface of PU fibers decorated with MWCNTs to enhance the conductive conjunctions of MWCNTs.Due to the superior electromechanical behaviors and mechanical reinforcement of PEDOT,the PEDOT/MWCNT@PU mat-based device exhibits a wide working range(0–70 kPa),high sensitivity(1.6 kPa−1),and good mechanical robustness(over 18,000 cycles).The PEDOT/MWCNT@PU mat-based sensor also demonstrates a good linear response to different temperature variations because of the thermoelectricity of the PEDOT/MWCNT composite.This novel strategy for the fabrication of multifunctional fibrous mats provides a promising opportunity for future applications for high-performance wearable devices.Yunyun Luo Libo Zhao Guoxi Luo Linxi Dong Yong Xia Min Li Ziping Li Kaifei Wang Ryutaro Maeda Zhuangde Jiang 2023Microsystems & Nanoengineering2023,9,5:0
10Formability of Rare Earth-Containing Solid Solution Based on Compounds with Scheelite-Type Structure显示文摘The regularities of the solid solutions between the scheelite-type compounds and rare earth molybdates or tungstates were investigated by the atomic parameter-support vector machine method and the intelligent database of phase diagrams of molten salt systems. The crystal structure of scheelite-type compounds having MIM′Ⅲ(XO4)2 (X=Mo, W) as common formula and the formability of the continuous solid solution between these compounds and rare earth molybdates or tungstates were also investigated. Besides, the cell constants of these compounds can be calculated by some semi-empirical equations. 12Positive direction of polarization-induced electric field improves formic acid electrooxidation on Pd显示文摘Adjusting the adsorption energy of adsorbates on catalyst can directly regulate the catalytic performance and reaction pathways of heterogeneous catalysis.Herein,we report a novel strategy,introducing polarization-induced electric field(PIEF)with different directions,to manipulate the adsorption energy of intermediates and reaction pathway of formic acid electrooxidation on Pd.Tourmaline nanoparticles are applied as the PIEF provider,of which the direction is successfully controlled via aligning the dipoles in tourmaline in a strong external electric field.Experimental and theoretical results systematically reveal that positive PIEF leads to an electron-deficient state of Pd,reduced adsorption energy of COad,enhanced adsorption energy of*HCOOH and*OH,and promoted formate pathway of formic acid electrooxidation.Pd/TNP+/FTO,with the aid of positive PIEF,shows three-fold enhancement in the formic acid electrooxidation(4.74 mA·cm^(−2))with high durability and anti-poisoning ability compared with pristine Pd.This study leads a new route to design formic acid electrocatalysts and provides an understanding on how to control the adsorption energy of adsorbates on electrocatalysts by an internal electric field.Shuozhen Hu Yunyun Cheng Guoming Luo Kai Huang Cheng Shi Jie Xu Cheng Lian Shigang Sun Xinsheng Zhang 2023Nano Research2023,16,8:0
