| 1 | Bone marrow mesenchymal stem cell therapy in ischemic stroke: mechanisms of action and treatment optimization strategies显示文摘Animal and clinical studies have confirmed the therapeutic effect of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells on cerebral ischemia, but their mechanisms of action remain poorly understood. Here, we summarize the transplantation approaches, directional migration, differentiation, replacement, neural circuit reconstruction,angiogenesis, neurotrophic factor secretion, apoptosis, immunomodulation, multiple mechanisms of action,and optimization strategies for bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells in the treatment of ischemic stroke.We also explore the safety of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cell transplantation and conclude that bone marrow mesenchymal stem cell transplantation is an important direction for future treatment of cerebral ischemia. | 2 | Mesoporous silica rods with cone shaped pores modulate inflammation and deliver BMP-2 for bone regeneration显示文摘Biomaterials with suitable osteoimmunomodulation properties and ability to deliver osteoinductive biomolecules,such as bone morphogenetic proteins,are desired for bone regeneration.Herein,we report the development of mesoporous silica rods with large cone-shaped pores(MSR-CP)to load and deliver large protein drugs.It is noted that those cone-shaped pores on the surface modulated the immune response and reduced the pro-inflammatory reaction of stimulated macrophage.Furthermore,bone morphogenetic proteins 2(BMP-2)loaded MSR-CP facilitated osteogenic differentiation and promoted osteogenesis of bone marrow stromal cells.In vivo tests confirmed BMP-2 loaded MSR-CP improved the bone regeneration performance.This study provides a potential strategy for the design of drug delivery systems for bone regeneration. | Chun Xu Lan Xiao Yuxue Cao Yan He Chang Lei Yin Xiao Wujin Sun Samad Ahadian Xueting Zhou Ali Khademhosseini Qingsong Ye | 2020 | Nano Research2020,13,9: | 5 |
| 3 | Molecular functions of nitric oxide and its potential applications in horticultural crops显示文摘Nitric oxide(NO)regulates plant growth,enhances nutrient uptake,and activates disease and stress tolerance mechanisms in most plants,making NO a potential tool for use in improving the yield and quality of horticultural crop species.Although the use of NO in horticulture is still in its infancy,research on NO in model plant species has provided an abundance of valuable information on horticultural crop species.Emerging evidence implies that the bioactivity of NO can occur through many potential mechanisms but occurs mainly through S-nitrosation,the covalent and reversible attachment of NO to cysteine thiol.In this context,NO signaling specifically affects crop development,immunity,and environmental interactions.Moreover,NO can act as a fumigant against a wide range of postharvest diseases and pests.However,for effective use of NO in horticulture,both understanding and exploring the biological significance and potential mechanisms of NO in horticultural crop species are critical.This review provides a picture of our current understanding of how NO is synthesized and transduced in plants,and particular attention is given to the significance of NO in breaking seed dormancy,balancing root growth and development,enhancing nutrient acquisition,mediating stress responses,and guaranteeing food safety for horticultural production. | Chengliang Sun Yuxue Zhang Lijuan Liu Xiaoxia Liu Baohai Li Chongwei Jin Xianyong Lin | 2021 | Horticulture Research2021,8,1: | 2 |

| 7 | Superconductivity in ThMo_2Si_2C with Mo_2C square net显示文摘We report the superconductivity of a new quaternary compound ThMo_(2)Si_(2)C, synthesized with the arc-melting technique. The compound crystallizes in a tetragonal CeCr_(2)Si_(2)C-type structure with cell parameters of a = 4.2296A and c = 5.3571 A. An interlayer Si–Si covalent bonding is suggested by the atomic distance. The electrical resistivity and magnetic susceptibility measurements indicate a Pauli-paramagnetic metal with dominant electron-electron scattering in the normal-state. Bulk superconductivity at 2.2 K is demonstrated with a dimensionless specific-heat jump of △C/γnT = 0.98. | 11 | Construction of N-doped carbon frames anchored with Co single atoms and Co nanoparticles as robust electrocatalyst for hydrogen evolution in the entire pH range显示文摘The development of low-cost, efficient, and high atomic economy electrocatalysts for hydrogen evolution reaction(HER) in the entire p H range for sustainable hydrogen production is of great importance but still challenging. Herein, we synthesize a highly dispersed N-doped carbon frames(NCFs) anchored with Co single atoms(SAs) and Co nanoparticles(NPs) catalyst by a doping-adsorption-pyrolysis strategy for electrocatalytic hydrogen evolution. The Co SAs-Co NPs/NCFs catalyst exhibits an excellent HER activity with small overpotential, low Tafel slope, high turnover frequency as well as remarkable stability. It also exhibits a superior HER performance in the entire p H range. Combining with experimental and theoretical calculation, we find that Co SAs with Co-N_(3) coordination structure and Co NPs have a strong interaction for promoting synergistic HER electrocatalytic process. The H_(2)O molecule is easily activated and dissociated on Co NPs, while the generated H^(*) is easily adsorbed on Co SAs for HER, which makes the Co SAs-Co NPs/NCFs catalyst exhibit more suitable H adsorption strength and more conducive to the activation and dissociation of H_(2)O molecules.
