| 1 | How Work Organization Affects the Prevalence of WMSDs: A Case-control Study显示文摘Objective In this study, we aimed at exploring the association between work-related musculoskeletal disorders(WMSDs) and work organization based on a case-control study. Methods A total of 1938 workers who claimed to suffer from WMSDs were selected from Beijing, Henan, Hubei, and the Guangdong province. The control group consisted of 2009 workers employed in similar industries without severe disease or musculoskeletal discomforts. We used a modified version of the questionnaire developed by the NMQ and the DMQ to investigate individual and work-related factors. Results A total of 13 variables(P<0.1) were selected by the chi-square test and finally, 7 variables entered into the equation, with 6 variables reaching statistical significance(P<0.05). The odds ratios(OR) of ‘work changing with season' and ‘sufficient rest time' did not reach 1(0.749 and 0.441, respectively). In addition, ‘sufficient rest time' seemed to be the stronger protective factor according to its higher standardized coefficient. And ‘repetitive work every minute', ‘constantly repetitive work'(every day), ‘shortage of site personnel', and ‘often switching shifts with others' seemed to be the risk factors. Conclusion Work organization may have comprehensive effects on the occurrence of WMSDs. | 2 | The anti-inflammatory effects of asiatic acid in lipopolysaccharide-stimulated human corneal epithelial cells显示文摘AIM: To investigate the anti-inflammatory effects of asiatic acid(AA) on lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-induced inflammatory response in human corneal epithelial cells(HCECs).METHODS: Cell viability was measured using a cell counting kit-8(CCK-8) assay.Quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction(qR T-PCR) was used to determine the mR NA expression of interleukin-8(IL-8),interleukin-6(IL-6),interleukin-1β(IL-1β),tumor necrosis factor-alpha(TNF-α),and transforming growth factor-β(TGF-β) in HCECs.Intracellular reactive oxygen species(ROS) was measured using the ROS assay kit.Glutathione(GSH) concentration was measured using the total GSH assay kit.Akt1 and Akt phosphorylation(p-Akt1) levels were measured by Western blotting and immunofluorescence.RESULTS: AA induced toxicity at high concentrations and significantly stimulated the proliferation of HCECs at concentrations of 20 μmol/L for 1h.LPS at concentrations of 300 ng/mL for 1h significantly stimulated the mR NA expression of IL-8,IL-6,IL-1β,TNF-α,and TGF-β in HCECs,while the stimulation effects were significantly inhibited by AA(20 μmol/L).In addition,AA was found to decrease the content of ROS,increase GSH generation,and also inhibit LPS-induced p-Akt in HCECs.CONCLUSION: AA decreases the generation of inflammatory factors IL-8,IL-6,IL-1β,TNF-α,and TGF-β in LPSstimulated HCECs.AA significantly inhibites the intracellular concentrations of ROS and increases GSH generation.AA also inhibites LPS-induced p-Akt in HCECs.These findings reveal that AA has anti-inflammation effects in LPS-stimulated HCECs. | Hao Chen Xiao-Min Hua Bai-Chen Ze Bin Wang Li Wei | 2017 | International Journal of Ophthalmology(English edition)2017,10,2: | 9 |
| 3 | Significantly Enhanced Electromagnetic Interference Shielding Performances of Epoxy Nanocomposites with Long-Range Aligned Lamellar Structures显示文摘High-efficiency electromagnetic interference(EMI)shielding materials are of great importance for electronic equipment reliability,information security and human health.In this work,bidirectional aligned Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x)@Fe_(3)O_(4)/CNF aerogels(BTFCA)were firstly assembled by bidirectional freezing and freeze-drying technique,and the BTFCA/epoxy nanocomposites with long-range aligned lamellar structures were then prepared by vacuum-assisted impregnation of epoxy resins.Benefitting from the successful construction of bidirectional aligned three-dimensional conductive networks and electromagnetic synergistic effect,when the mass fraction of Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) and Fe_(3)O_(4) are 2.96 and 1.48 wt%,BTFCA/epoxy nanocomposites show outstanding EMI shield-ing effectiveness of 79 dB,about 10 times of that of blended Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x)@Fe_(3)O_(4)/epoxy(8 dB)nanocomposites with the same loadings of Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) and Fe_(3)O_(4).Meantime,the corresponding BTFCA/epoxy nanocomposites also present excellent thermal stability(T_(heat-resistance index) of 198.7℃)and mechanical properties(storage modulus of 9902.1 MPa,Young’s modulus of 4.51 GPa and hardness of 0.34 GPa).Our fabricated BTFCA/epoxy nanocomposites would greatly expand the applications of MXene and epoxy resins in the fields of information security,aerospace and weapon manufacturing,etc. | Lei Wang Zhonglei Ma Hua Qiu Yali Zhang Ze Yu Junwei Gu | 2022 | Nano-Micro Letters2022,14,12: | 4 |
| 4 | Protective effects of medical ozone combined with traditional Chinese medicine against chemically-induced hepatic injury in dogs显示文摘AIM: To investigate the protective effect of medical ozone (O3) combined with Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Yigan Fuzheng Paidu Capsules (YC) against carbon tetrachloride (CCl4)-induced hepatic injury in dogs. METHODS: Thirty healthy dogs were divided randomly into fi ve groups (n = 6 in each group), namely control, oleanolic acid tablet (OAT), O3, YC and O3 + YC, given either no particular pre-treatment, oral OAT, medical ozone rectal insulfflation every other day, oral YC, or oral YC plus medical ozone rectal insulfflation every other day, respectively, for 30 consecutive days. After pre-treatment, acute hepatic injury was induced in all dogs with a single-dose intraperitoneal injection of CCl4. General condition and survival time were recorded. The biochemical and hematological indexes of alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase/ alanine aminotransferase (AST/ALT), serum total bilirubin (TBIL), prothrombin time (PT), blood ammonia (AMMO), and blood urea nitrogen (BUN) were measured after CCl4 injection. Hepatic pathological changes were also observed.RESULTS: Compared to the other four groups, the changes of group O3 + YC dogs’ general conditions (motoricity, mental state, eating, urination and defecation) could be better controlled. In group O3 + YC the survival rates were higher (P < 0.05 vs group control). AST/ALT values were kept within a normal level in group O3 + YC. Hepatic histopathology showed that hepatic injury in group O3 + YC was less serious than those in the other four groups. | 7 | Abdominal Obesity and Its Attribution to All-cause Mortality in the General Population with 14 Years Follow-up:Findings from Shanxi Cohort in China显示文摘Objective This study aimed to assess the association of waist circumference(WC)with all-cause mortality among Chinese adults.Methods The baseline data were from Shanxi Province of 2002 China Nutrition and Health Survey.The death investigation and follow-up visit were conducted from December 2015 to March 2016.The visits covered up to 5,360 of 7,007 participants,representing a response rate of 76.5%.The Cox regression model and floating absolute risk were used to estimate hazard ratio and 95%floating CI of death by gender and age groups(≥60 and<60 years old).Sensitivity analysis was performed by excluding current smokers;participants with stroke,hypertension,and diabetes;participants who accidentally died;and participants who died during the first 2 years of follow-up.Results This study followed 67,129 person-years for 12.5 years on average,including 615 deaths.The mortality density was 916 per 100,000 person-years.Low WC was associated with all-cause mortality among men.Multifactor-adjusted hazard ratios(HR)were 1.60(1.35–1.90)for WC<75.0 cm and 1.40(1.11–1.76)for WC ranging from 75.0 cm to 79.9 cm.Low WC(<70.0 cm and 70.0–74.9 cm)and high WC(≥95.0 cm)groups had a high risk of mortality among women.The adjusted HRs of death were 1.43(1.11–1.83),1.39(1.05–1.84),and 1.91(1.13–3.22).Conclusion WC was an important predictor of death independent of body mass index(BMI).WC should be used as a simple rapid screening and predictive indicator of the risk of death. | ZHAI Yi REN Ze Ping ZHANG Mei ZHANG Jian JIANG Yong MI Sheng Quan WANG Zhuo Qun ZHAO Yan Fang SONG Peng Kun YIN Zhao Xue ZHAO Wen Hua | 2020 | Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2020,33,4: | 2 |
