| 1 | Dyes adsorption using a synthetic carboxymethyl cellulose-acrylic acid adsorbent显示文摘Removal of noxious dyes is gaining public and technological attention. Herein grafting polymerization was employed to produce a novel adsorbent using acrylic acid and carboxymethyl cellulose for dye removal. Scanning electron microscopy and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy verified the adsorbent formed under optimized reaction conditions. The removal ratio of adsorbent to Methyl Orange, Disperse Blue 2BLN and malachite green chloride reached to 84.2%, 79.6% and 99.9%, respectively. The greater agreement between the calculated and experimental results suggested that pseudo second-order kinetic model better represents the kinetic adsorption data. Equilibrium adsorptions of dyes were better explained by the Temkin isotherm. | 2 | Simultaneously down-regulation of multiplex branch pathways using CRISPRi and fermentation optimization for enhancingβ-amyrin production in Saccharomyces cerevisiae显示文摘The production ofβ-amyrin in Saccharomyces cerevisiae is still low due to the inability of effectively regulating the endogenous metabolic pathway for competitive synthesis ofβ-amyrin precursors.In this study,we focused on two branches ofβ-amyrin synthetics pathway that consumeβ-amyrin precursors(2,3-oxidosqualene and cytosolic acetyl-CoA)and regulated related genes(ADH1,ADH4,ADH5,ADH6,CIT2,MLS2 and ERG7).We developed a CRISPRi method by constructing a multi-gRNA plasmid to down-regulate the seven genes simultaneously,which is reported for the first time in S.cerevisiae.The average transcription inhibition efficiency of the seven genes reached as high as 75.5%.Furthermore,by optimizing the fermentation condition(including pH,inoculum size,initial glucose concentration and feed of glucose or ethanol)and increasing extracellular transportation via supplying methyl-β-cyclodextrin,β-amyrin concentration of engineered strain SGibSdCg increased by 44.3%compared with the parent strain SGib,achieving 156.7 mg/L which was the highest concentration ofβ-amyrin reported in yeast.The one-step down-regulation of multiple genes using CRISPRi showed high efficiency and promising future in improving the yields of natural products. | Jiangping Ni Genlin Zhang Lei Qin Jun Li Chun Li | 2019 | Synthetic and Systems Biotechnology2019,4,2: | 4 |

| 7 | Bidirectionally catalytic polysulfide conversion by high-conductive metal carbides for lithium-sulfur batteries显示文摘Utilizing catalysts to accelerate the redox kinetics of lithium polysulfides (LiPSs) is a promising strategy to alleviate the shuttle effect of lithium–sulfur (Li–S) batteries.Nevertheless,most of the reported catalysts are only effective for LiPSs reduction,resulting in the devitalization of catalysts over extended cycles as a consequence of the continuous accumulation of Li_(2)S passivation layer.The situation gets even worse when employing mono-directional catalyst with poor electron conductivity because the charge transfer for the decomposition of solid Li_(2)S is severely hampered.Herein,a high-conductive and dualdirectional catalyst Co_(3)C decorated on porous nitrogen-doped graphene-like structure and carbon nanotube (Co_(3)C@PNGr-CNT) is fabricated as sulfur host,which not only promotes the precipitation of Li_(2)S from Li PSs during discharge but also facilitates the decomposition of Li;S during subsequent charge,as evidenced by the reduced activation energies for both reduction and oxidation processes.Furthermore,the long-term catalytic stability of Co_(3)C is corroborated by the reversible evolution of Co–C bond length over extended cycles as observed from X-ray absorption fine structure results.As a consequence,the fabricated Co_(3)C@PNGr-CNT/S cathode delivers a low capacity decay of 0.043%per cycle over 1000 cycles at 2C.Even at high sulfur loading (15.6 mg cm^(-2)) and low electrolyte/sulfur (E/S) ratio (~8μL mg^(-1))conditions,the battery still delivers an outstanding areal capacity of 11.05 m Ah cm^(-2) after 40 cycles.This work provides a rational strategy for designing high-efficient bidirectional catalyst with single component for high-performance Li-S batteries. | Genlin Liu Cheng Yuan Pan Zeng Chen Cheng Tianran Yan Kehua Dai Jing Mao Liang Zhang | 2022 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2022,31,4: | 1 |

| 12 | An Algorithm for Mining Gradual Moving Object Clusters Pattern From Trajectory Streams显示文摘The discovery of gradual moving object clusters pattern from trajectory streams allows characterizing movement behavior in real time environment,which leverages new applications and services.Since the trajectory streams is rapidly evolving,continuously created and cannot be stored indefinitely in memory,the existing approaches designed on static trajectory datasets are not suitable for discovering gradual moving object clusters pattern from trajectory streams.This paper proposes a novel algorithm of gradual moving object clusters pattern discovery from trajectory streams using sliding window models.By processing the trajectory data in current window,the mining algorithm can capture the trend and evolution of moving object clusters pattern.Firstly,the density peaks clustering algorithm is exploited to identify clusters of different snapshots.The stable relationship between relatively few moving objects is used to improve the clustering efficiency.Then,by intersecting clusters from different snapshots,the gradual moving object clusters pattern is updated.The relationship of clusters between adjacent snapshots and the gradual property are utilized to accelerate updating process.Finally,experiment results on two real datasets demonstrate that our algorithm is effective and efficient. | Yujie Zhang Genlin Ji Bin Zhao Bo Sheng | 2019 | Computers, Materials & Continua2019,,6: | 0 |
| 13 | Effect of ciliary neurotrophic factor on bcl-2 and c-jun gene and protein expression in cultured retinal nerve cells显示文摘BACKGROUND:In various retinal neurodegenerative animal models,ciliary neurotrophic factor (CNTF) exhibits prominent neuroprotective effects on retinal nerve cells.Bcl-2 is an anti-apoptotic protein.c-Jun is upregulated and phosphorylated in the activated c-Jun N-terminal kinase pathway,which subsequently mediates apoptosis.However,the effect of CNTF on Bcl-2 and c-Jun expression in retinal nerve cells remains unclear.OBJECTIVE:To determine the dynamic changes in retinal nerve cell apoptosis,as well as bcl-2 and c-jun gene and protein expression,following a single dose of CNTF in a short period of time.DESIGN,TIME AND SETTING:A single-blind,randomized,controlled,in vitro experiment was performed at the Central Laboratory of Beijing Tongren Hospital from May 2008 to April 2009.MATERIALS:Neonatal bovine retinal nerve cells (Chinese Holstein),recombinant human CNTF (PeproTech,Rocky Hill,NJ,USA),rabbit polyclonal anti-Bcl-2 and c-Jun antibodies (Abcam,Cambridge,UK),fluorescein isothiocyanate-conjugated annexin V/propidium iodide kit (BioVision,Mountain View,CA,USA),real time polymerase chain reaction instrument (ABI,Foster City,CA,USA),and flow cytometer (BD FACSCalibur,Franklin Lakes,NJ,USA).METHODS:Neonatal bovine retinal cells from passage 2 were cultured for 3 days and incubated with,or without,50 ng/mL CNTF (control).MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES:Cell apoptosis was detected via Annexin V-FITC/PI double-staining and flow cytometry.bcl-2 and c-jun mRNA and protein expression were detected by quantitative real time polymerase chain reaction and western blot analysis.RESULTS:The proportion of late-stage apoptotic cells was significantly decreased at 2,4,and 6 days after CNTF treatment compared with the control group (P < 0.01).CNTF did not alter bcl-2 mRNA expression at the three time points,but significantly increased Bcl-2 protein expression at 2 and 4 days (P < 0.01).c-jun mRNA expression was significantly decreased 4 days after CNTF treatment (P < 0.01).In addition,c-Jun protein expression was slightly increased at 4 days (P < 0.01),but decreased at 6 days,compared with the control group (P < 0.05).CONCLUSION:A single dose of CNTF (50 ng/mL) upregulated Bcl-2 protein and downregulated c-jun mRNA expression,followed by a parallel,but lagged,change in c-Jun protein production in cultured neonatal bovine retinal nerve cells.These results suggested that CNTF reduces retinal nerve cell apoptosis by modifying Bcl-2 and c-Jun expression. | Xiang Zhang Xiang Lei Yueyue Liu Genlin Li | 2010 | Neural Regeneration Research2010,5,9: | 0 |
