24-Hydroxybenzyl-substituted amino acid derivatives from Gastrodia elata显示文摘Seven new 4-hydroxybenzyl-substituted amino acid derivatives(1-7), together with 11 known compounds, were isolated from an aqueous extract of the rhizomes of Gastrodia elata Blume.Their structures were determined by spectroscopic and chemical methods. Compounds 1-3 are pyroglutamate derivatives containing 4-hydroxybenzyl units at the N atom and 4-7 are the first examples of natural products with the 4-hydroxybenzyl unit linked via a thioether bond to 2-hydroxy-3-mercaptopropanoic acid(4-6) and 2-hydroxy-4-mercaptobutanoic acid(7), which would be biogenetically derived from cysteine and homocysteine, respectively. The structures of 1 and 2 were verified by synthesis, while the absolute configurations of 4, 5 and 7 were assigned using Mosher's method based on the MPA determination rule of ΔδRS values. 5A pseudo wavelet system-based vibration signature extracting method for rotating machinery fault detection显示文摘The rotating machinery,as a typical example of large and complex mechanical systems,is prone to diversified sorts of mechanical faults,especially on their rotating components.Although they can be collected via vibration measurements,the critical fault signatures are always masked by overwhelming interfering contents,therefore difficult to be identified.Moreover,owing to the distinguished time-frequency characteristics of the machinery fault signatures,classical dyadic wavelet transforms(DWTs) are not perfect for detecting them in noisy environments.In order to address the deficiencies of DWTs,a pseudo wavelet system(PWS) is proposed based on the filter constructing strategies of wavelet tight frames.The presented PWS is implemented via a specially devised shift-invariant filterbank structure,which generates non-dyadic wavelet subbands as well as dyadic ones.The PWS offers a finer partition of the vibration signal into the frequency-scale plane.In addition,in order to correctly identify the essential transient signatures produced by the faulty mechanical components,a new signal impulsiveness measure,named spatial spectral ensemble kurtosis(SSEK),is put forward.SSEK is used for selecting the optimal analyzing parameters among the decomposed wavelet subbands so that the masked critical fault signatures can be explicitly recognized.The proposed method has been applied to engineering fault diagnosis cases,in which the processing results showed its effectiveness and superiority to some existing methods.CHEN BinQiang ZHANG ZhouSuo ZI YanYang YANG ZhiBo HE ZhengJia 2013Science China(Technological Sciences)2013,56,5:13
6Association between coexisting intracranial artery and extracranial carotid artery atherosclerotic diseases and ipsilateral cerebral infarction: a Chinese Atherosclerosis Risk Evaluation (CARE- II) study显示文摘Background To evaluate the association between coexisting intracranial and extracranial carotid artery atherosclerotic diseases and ipsilateral acute cerebral infarct(ACI)in symptomatic patients by using magnetic resonance(MR)vessel wall imaging.Methods Symptomatic patients were recruited from a cross-sectional,multicentre study of Chinese Atherosclerosis Risk Evaluation(CARE-II).All patients underwent MR imaging for extracranial carotid arterial wall,intracranial artery and brain.Coexisting intracranial stenosis≥50%and extracranial carotid artery mean wall thickness(MWT)≥1 mm and plaque compositions at the same side were evaluated and the ipsilateral ACI was identified.The association between coexisting atherosclerotic diseases and ACI was evaluated using logistic regression.Results 351 patients were recruited.Patients with ipsilateral ACI had significantly greater prevalence of coexisting intracranial stenosis≥50%and carotid MWT≥1 mm(20.5%vs 4.9%,p<0.001),calcification(15.1%vs 4.4%,p=0.001)and lipid-rich necrotic core(LRNC)(19.2%vs 7.8%,p=0.002)compared with those without.Coexisting intracranial artery stenosis≥50%and carotid MWT≥1 mm(OR 5.043,95%CI 2.378 to 10.694;p<0.001),calcification(OR 3.864,95%CI 1.723 to 8.664;p=0.001)and LRNC(OR 2.803,95%CI 1.455 to 5.401;p=0.002)were significantly associated with ipsilateral ACI.After adjusting for confounding factors,the aforementioned associations remained statistically significant(intracranial stenosis≥50%coexisting with carotid MWT≥1 mm:OR 4.313,95%CI 1.937 to 9.601,p<0.001;calcification:OR 3.606,95%CI 1.513 to 8.593,p=0.004;LRNC:OR 2.358,95%CI 1.166 to 4.769,p=0.017).Conclusions Coexistence of intracranial artery severe stenosis and extracranial carotid artery large burden and intraplaque components of calcification and LRNC are independently associated with ipsilateral ACI.Trial registration number https://www.clinicaltrials.gov/.Unique identifier:NCT02017756.Chunxiu Jiang Jing Zhang Jianbin Zhu Xianlong Wang Zhibo Wen Xihai Zhao Chun Yuan On behalf of CARE-II Investigators 2021Stroke & Vascular Neurology2021,6,4:11

8The complete nucleotide sequence and its organization of the genome of Barley yellow dwarf virus-GAV显示文摘The complete nucleotide sequence of genomic RNA of BYDV-GAV was determined. It comprised 5685 nucleotides and contained six open reading frames and four un-translated regions. The size and organization of BYDV-GAV genome were similar to those of BYDV PAV-aus. The nucleotide and deduced amino acid sequences of the six ORFs were aligned and compared with those of other luteoviruses. The results showed that there was a high degree of identity between BYDV-GAV and MAV-PS1 in all ORFs except ORF5 and ORF6, which had only 87.4% and 70.2% identities respectively. The reported genomic nucleotide sequence of MAV was shorter than that of BYDV-GAV, but the comparison of the genomic nucleotide sequences for MAV-PS1 and GAV showed 90.4% sequence identity for the same region of the genome. 9Broaching Performance of Superalloy GH4169 Based on FEM显示文摘The nickel-based superalloy GH4169 is an important material for high temperature applications in the aerospace industry. However, due to its poor machinability, GH4169 is hard to be cut and generates saw-tooth chips during high speed machining, which could significantly affect the dynamic cutting force, cutting temperature fluctuation, tool life, and the surface integrity of the parts. In this paper, the saw-tooth chip formation mechanism of superalloy GH4169 was investigated by the elasto-viscoplastic finite element method (FEM). Using the finite element software of ABAQUS/Explicit, the deformation of the part during high speed machining was simulated. The effective plastic strain, the temperature field, the stress distribution, and the cutting force were analyzed to determine the influence of the cutting parameters on the saw-tooth chip formation. 10Relationship between the Flow Blockage of Tip Leakage Vortex and its Evolutionary Procedures inside the Rotor Passage of a Subsonic Axial Compressor显示文摘The near casing flow fields inside the rotor passage of a 1.5 stage axial compressor with different blade-loading levels and tip gap sizes were measured by using stereoscopic particle image velocimetry(SPIV). Based on a carefully defined blockage extracting method, the variations of blockage parameter inside the blade passage were analyzed. It was found that the variation of blockage parameter appeared as a non-monotonic behavior inside the blade passage in most cases. This non-monotonic behavior became much more remarkable as the blade loading increases or mass flow rate decreases.The variations of the blockage parameter inside the blade passage had close relation to the evolutionary procedures of the tip leakage vortex(TLV). The destabilization of the TLV caused a rapid increasing of the blockage parameter. After the TLV lost the features of a concentrated streamwise vortex,the blockage parameter usually got a peak value. 13Crack location identification of rotating rotor systems using operating deflection shape data显示文摘Crack location identification, as one key destination of structural health monitoring, is still a challenge for operating rotor systems. The operating deflection shape (ODS), which represents a visual description of the structural vibration patterns under operating conditions, has been gaining importance for structure damage detection in recent years. The ODS carries damage information of a structure, however, it is also difficult to detect weak cracks of rotor directly. The approximate waveform capacity dimension (AWCD) method was successfully applied to damage detection of plates and beam-like structures. In this paper,a strategic approach that combines ODS and weighted AWCD is proposed for crack location identification of the rotating rotor.To eliminate the false peaks of AWCD and obtain desirable results, a weight factor and ODS curvature data are introduced to the expression of the weighted AWCD. The effectiveness of the proposed method is validated by numerical simulation and experimental investigation in a cracked rotor system. The results indicate that the proposed approach not only provides good identifying performance for incipient rotor cracks, but also effectively eliminates the fault peaks introduced by the inflexion locations of ODSs. 15Ge-on-Si modulators operating at mid-infrared wavelengths up to 8 μm显示文摘We report mid-infrared Ge-on-Si waveguide-based PIN diode modulators operating at wavelengths of 3.8 and8 μm. Fabricated 1-mm-long electro-absorption devices exhibit a modulation depth of >35 dB with a 7 V forward bias at 3.8 μm, and a similar 1-mm-long Mach–Zehnder modulator has a Vπ· L of 0.47 V · cm. Driven by a 2.5 Vpp RF signal, 60 MHz on-off keying modulation was demonstrated. 16The beneficial effects of intermittent fasting:an update on mechanism,and the role of circadian rhythm and gut microbiota显示文摘Importance:There is accumulating evidence that intermittent fasting(IF)is connected to improved health condition and longevity time-restricted feeding(TRF)is the most recognized and extensively studied model of IF.Objective:To investigate the underlying mechanism of pleiotropic benefits of IF and hint the most advantageous feeding pattern for humans.Evidence review:We searched MEDLINE,EMBASE,Cochrane Library and Google Scholar by 2020 April for publications on IF or TRF and their mechanisms.Studies include animal models and human cohorts.Findings:One important mechanism is that IF allows certain period of fasting time,in which our bodies activate pathways of repair and rejuvenation.Moreover,the advantages of IF,especially TRF over total caloric restriction(CR)provided bases for various animal and human studies which suggested that the feeding-fasting rhythm stimulates the fluctuation of our gut microbiota and a series of subsequent molecular alterations,which in turn restored a healthier circadian clock that resembled our inherent clock formed throughout millions of years of homo sapiens history.Conclusions and Relevance for Reviews:Complete understanding of the mechanism leading to the beneficial effects of IF paves the way for tailored dietary regimen to combat a wide range of diseases and ill health conditions.Dandan Hu Zhibo Xie Yuqian Ye Suhad Bahijri Minshan Chen 2020Hepatobiliary Surgery and Nutrition2020,9,5:5

18Transplantation of placenta-derived mesenchymal stem cells in type 2 diabetes:a pilot study显示文摘Mesenchymal stem cells(MSC)have been used in clinical trials for severe diabetes,a chronic disease with high morbidity and mortality.Bone marrow is the traditional source of human MSC,but human term placenta appears to be an alternative and more readily available source.Here,the therapeutic effect of human placenta-derived MSC(PD-MSC)was studied in type 2 diabetes patients with longer duration,islet cell dysfunction,high insulin doses as well as poor glycemic control in order to evaluate the safety,efficacy and feasibility of PD-MSC treatment in type 2 diabetes(T2D).Ten patients with T2D received three intravenous infusions of PDSC,with one month interval of infusion.The total number of PDSC for each patient was(1.22–1.51)×10^(6)/kg,with an average of 1.35×10^(6)/kg.All of the patients were followed up after therapy for at least 3 months.A daily mean dose of insulin used in 10 patients was decreased from 63.7±18.7 to 34.7±13.4 IU(P<0.01),and the C-peptide level was increased from 4.1±3.7 ng/mL to 5.6±3.8 ng/mL(P<0.05)respectively after therapy.In 4 of 10 responders their insulin doses reduced more than 50%after infusion.The mean levels of insulin and C-peptide at each time point in a total of 10 patients was higher after treatment(P<0.05).No fever,chills,liver damage and other side effects were reported.The renal function and cardiac function were improved after infusion.The results obtained from this pilot clinical trial indicate that transplantation of PD-MSC represents a simple,safe and effective therapeutic approach for T2D patients with islet cell dysfunction.Further large-scale,randomized and well-controlled clinical studies will be required to substantiate these observations.Ranhua JIANG Zhibo HAN Guangsheng ZHUO Xiaodan QU Xue LI Xin WANG Yuankang SHAO Shimin YANG Zhong Chao HAN 2011Frontiers of Medicine2011,5,1:5

20Analysis of cultivable aerobic bacterial community composition and screening for facultative sulfate-reducing bacteria in marine corrosive steel显示文摘Anaerobic, aerobic, and facultative bacteria are all present in corrosive environments. However, as previous studies to address corrosion in the marine environment have largely focused on anaerobic bacteria, limited attention has been paid to the composition and function of aerobic and facultative bacteria in this process. For analysis in this study, ten samples were collected from rust layers on steel plates that had been immersed in seawater for diff erent periods (i.e., six months and eight years) at Sanya and Xiamen, China. The cultivable aerobic bacterial community structure as well as the number of sulfate-reducing bacteria (SRB) were analyzed in both cases, while the proportion of facultative SRB among the isolated aerobic bacteria in each sample was also evaluated using a novel approach. Bacterial abundance results show that the proportions are related to sea location and immersion time;abundances of culturable aerobic bacteria (CAB) and SRB from Sanya were greater in most corrosion samples than those from Xiamen, and abundances of both bacterial groups were greater in samples immersed for six months than for eight years. A total of 213 isolates were obtained from all samples in terms of CAB community composition, and a phylogenetic analysis revealed that the taxa comprised four phyla and 31 genera. Bacterial species composition is related to marine location;the results show that Firmicutes and Proteobacteria were the dominant phyla, accounting for 98.13% of the total, while Bacillus and Vibrio were the dominant genera, accounting for 53.06% of the total. An additional sixfacultative SRB strains were also screened from the isolates obtained and were found to encompass the genus Vibrio (four strains), Staphylococcus (one strain), and Photobacterium (one strain).
