1High-entropy ceramics:Present status,challenges,and a look forward显示文摘High-entropy ceramics (HECs) are solid solutions of inorganic compounds with one or more Wyckoff sites shared by equal or near-equal atomic ratios of multi-principal elements.Although in the infant stage,the emerging of this new family of materials has brought new opportunities for material design and property tailoring.Distinct from metals,the diversity in crystal structure and electronic structure of ceramics provides huge space for properties tuning through band structure engineering and phonon engineering.Aside from strengthening,hardening,and low thermal conductivity that have already been found in high-entropy alloys,new properties like colossal dielectric constant,super ionic conductivity,severe anisotropic thermal expansion coefficient,strong electromagnetic wave absorption,etc.,have been discovered in HECs.As a response to the rapid development in this nascent field,this article gives a comprehensive review on the structure features,theoretical methods for stability and property prediction,processing routes,novel properties,and prospective applications of HECs.The challenges on processing,characterization,and property predictions are also emphasized.Finally,future directions for new material exploration,novel processing,fundamental understanding,in-depth characterization,and database assessments are given.Huimin XIANG Yan XING Fu-zhi DAI Hongjie WANG Lei SU Lei MIAO Guojun ZHANG Yiguang WANG Xiwei QI Lei YAO Hailong WANG Biao ZHAO Jianqiang LI Yanchun ZHOU 2021Journal of Advanced Ceramics2021,10,3:28

3Distributed regression estimation with incomplete data in multi-agent networks显示文摘In this paper, distributed regression estimation problem with incomplete data in a time-varying multi-agent network is investigated. Regression estimation is carried out based on local agent information with incomplete in the non-ignorable mechanism. By virtue of gradient-based design and adaptive filter, a distributed algorithm is proposed to deal with a regression estimation problem with incomplete data. With the help of convex analysis and stochastic approximation techniques, the exact convergence is obtained for the proposed algorithm with incomplete data and a jointly-connected multi-agent topology. Moreover, online regret analysis is also given for real-time learning. 5Effect of Sophora flavescens alkaloid on aerobic vaginitis in gel form for local treatment显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect of Sophora flavescens alkaloid(SFA) in gel form on aerobic vaginitis(AV) and the possible mechanism underlying the effects.METHODS: AV rat models were prepared by intravaginal inoculation of Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus. SFA gel and placebo gel were intravaginally administered. In vivo antibacterial effects,vaginal microenvironment, vaginal smears, pathological tissues of vaginas, and retention of gel in the vaginal cavity were investigated.RESULTS: SFA gel had much higher antibacterial effect than placebo gel. SFA gel protected the vaginal mucosa from erosion of bacteria. At the same time,they inhibited the inflammatory responses, exhibiting little leukocytes and parabasal cells. Furthermore, the number of vaginal Lactobacilli remarkably increased following administration of SFA gel.However, the vaginal p H did not recover to thehealthy acidic levels after treatment due to the buffering effect of gel. The gel of a fluorescent agent,Cyanine 7, showed very long retention time in the vaginal cavity, up to more than 24 h, much longer than the solutions.CONCLUSION: The SFA gel is a promising medicine for local treatment of AV with the advantages of anti-bacteria, protection of vaginal mucosa, increase of Lactobacilli, and long retention time in the vaginal cavity.Wang Xiu Li Jianchun Hu Yuzhen Chen Wenyang Jin Yiguang 2017Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2017,37,3:7
6Ablation of C/SiC-HfC composite prepared by precursor infiltration and pyrolysis in plasma wind tunnel显示文摘Carbon fiber reinforced silicon carbide-hafnium carbide(C/SiC-HfC)composite was prepared by precursor infiltration and pyrolysis process.Then,ablation behavior of C/SiC-HfC was evaluated in plasma wind tunnel.It was found that oxide layer formed during ablation significantly influenced the surface temperature.Formation of dense HfO2 SiO2 layer under low heat flux led to stable surface temperature.Silica(SiO2)on the surface was gradually consumed when heat flux increased,resulting in conversion of HfO2-SiO2 on the surface to HfO2.Converted HfO2 with high catalytic cofficient absorbed more energy,causing gradual increase in the surface temperature.Formed oxide layer was destroyed at high heat flux and high stagnation point pressure.After carbon fiber lost the protection of HfO2-SiO2 layer,it burned immediately,leading to surface temperature jump.Liuyang DUAN Lei LUO Liping LIU Yiguang WANG 2020Journal of Advanced Ceramics2020,9,3:7
7Rumen microbiome structure and metabolites activity in dairy cows with clinical and subclinical mastitis显示文摘Background:Due to the high prevalence and complex etiology,bovine mastitis(BM)is one of the most important diseases to compromise dairy cow health and milk quality.The shift in milk compositions has been widely investigated during mastitis,but recent studies suggested that gastrointestinal microorganism also has a crucial effect on the inflammation of other peripheral tissues and organs,including the mammary gland.However,research focused on the variation of rumen inner-environment during mastitis is still limited.Therefore,the ruminal microbial profiles,metabolites,and milk compositions in cows with different udder health conditions were compared in the present study.Furthermore,the correlations between udder health status and ruminal conditions were investigated.Based on the somatic cell counts(SCC),California mastitis test(CMT)parameters and clinical symptoms of mastitis,60 lactating Holstein dairy cows with similar body conditions(excepted for the udder health condition)were randomly divided into 3 groups(n=20 per group)including the healthy(H)group,the subclinical mastitis(SM)group and the clinical mastitis(CM)group.Lactation performance and rumen fermentation parameters were recorded.And rumen microbiota and metabolites were also analyzed via 16S rRNA amplicon sequencing and untargeted metabolomics,respectively.Results:As the degree of mastitis increased,rumen lactic acid(LA)(P<0.01),acetate,propionate,butyrate,valerate(P<0.001),and total volatile fatty acids(TVFAs)(P<0.01)concentrations were significantly decreased.In the rumen of CM cows,the significantly increased bacteria related to intestinal and oral inflammation,such as Lachnospiraceae(FDR-adjusted P=0.039),Moraxella(FDR-adjusted P=0.011)and Neisseriaceae(FDR-adjusted P=0.036),etc.,were accompanied by a significant increase in 12-oxo-20-dihydroxy-leukotriene B4(FDR-adjusted P=5.97×10^(−9))and 10beta-hydroxy-6beta-isobutyrylfuranoeremophilane(FDR-adjusted P=3.88×10^(−10)).Meanwhile,in the rumen of SM cows,the Ruminiclostridium_9(FDR-adjusted P=0.042)and Enterorhabdus(FDR-adjusted P=0.043)were increased along with increasing methenamine(FDR-adjusted P=6.95×10^(−6)),5-hydroxymethyl-2-furancarboxaldehyde(5-HMF)(FDR-adjusted P=2.02×10^(−6))and 6-methoxymellein(FDR-adjusted P=2.57×10^(−5)).The short-chain fatty acids(SCFAs)-producing bacteria and probiotics in rumen,including Prevoterotoella_1(FDRadjusted P=0.045)and Bifidobacterium(FDR-adjusted P=0.035),etc.,were significantly reduced,with decreasing 2-phenylbutyric acid(2-PBA)(FDR-adjusted P=4.37×10^(−6)).Conclusion:The results indicated that there was a significant shift in the ruminal microflora and metabolites associated with inflammation and immune responses during CM.Moreover,in the rumen of cows affected by SM,the relative abundance of several opportunistic pathogens and the level of metabolites which could produce antibacterial compounds or had a competitive inhibitory effect were all increased.Yue Wang Xuemei Nan Yiguang Zhao Linshu Jiang Mengling Wang Hui Wang Fan Zhang Fuguang Xue Dengke Hua Jun Liu Junhu Yao Benhai Xiong 2021Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2021,12,3:6
8High-entropy rare-earth zirconate ceramics with low thermal conductivity for advanced thermal-barrier coatings显示文摘The high-entropy rare-earth zirconate((La_(0.2)Nd_(0.2)Sm_(0.2)Gd_(0.2)Yb_(0.2))_(2)Zr_(2)O_(7),5RE_(2)Zr_(2)O_(7)HEREZs)ceramics were successfully prepared by a new high-speed positive grinding strategy combined with solid-state reaction method.The microstructure,crystal structure,phase composition,and thermophysical and mechanical properties of the samples were systematically investigated through various methods.Results indicate that the samples have a single-phase defect fluorite-type crystal structure with excellent high-temperature thermal stability.The as-prepared samples also demonstrate low thermal conductivity(0.9–1.72 W·m^(−1)·K^(−1)at 273–1273 K)and high coefficient of thermal expansion(CTE,10.9×10^(−6)K^(−1)at 1273 K),as well as outstanding mechanical properties including large Young’s modulus(E=186–257 GPa)and high fracture toughness(KIC).Furthermore,the formation possibility of the as-prepared samples was verified through the first-principles calculations,which suggested the feasibility to form the 5RE_(2)Zr_(2)O_(7)HE-REZs in the thermodynamic direction.Therefore,in view of the excellent multifunctional properties exhibited by the as-prepared 5RE_(2)Zr_(2)O_(7)HE-REZs,they have great potential applications in next-generation thermal-barrier coatings(TBCs).Debao LIU Baolu SHI Liyan GENG Yiguang WANG Baosheng XU Yanfei CHEN 2022Journal of Advanced Ceramics2022,11,6:6

10MULTI-AGENT TRACKING OF A HIGH-DIMENSIONAL ACTIVE LEADER WITH SWITCHING TOPOLOGY显示文摘This paper considers a multi-agent tracking problem for a high-dimensional active leaderand variable interconnection topology. The state of the leader not only keeps changing but also maynot be measured. To estimate the state such a leader individually, a neighbor-based local controllertogether with a neighbor-based state-estimation rule is given for each autonomous agent. Then, theauthors prove that, with the help of a constructed common Lyapunov function (CLF), each agent cantrack the active leader with unmeasurable states. 12Linkage with cathepsin B-sensitive dipeptide promotes the in vitro and in vivo anticancer activity of PEGylated tumor necrosis factor-alpha(TNF-α) against murine fibrosarcoma显示文摘To improve the pharmacological profile of tumor necrosis factor alpha(TNF-α),we have synthesized a new PEGylated prodrug,PEG-vcTNF-α,using a cathepsin B-sensitive dipeptide(valine-citrulline,vc) to link branched PEG and TNF-α.PEG-modified TNF-α without the dipeptide linker(PEG-TNF-α) and unconjugated TNF-α were also tested as controls.It was found for the first time that TNF-α released from PEG-vcTNF-α was specifically dependent on the presence of cathepsin B.PEG-vcTNF-α induced higher cytotoxicity and greater apoptosis against L929 murine fibrosarcoma cells than PEG-TNF-α.Reversal of these effects by a cathepsin-B inhibitor confirmed that these effects were mediated by cathepsin B-specific release of TNF-α.In vivo pharmacokinetics studies demonstrated that the plasma stability of PEG-vcTNF-α was significantly increased compared to TNF-α.Finally,the improved anticancer efficacy of PEG-vcTNF-α and the distinct activities among the three formulations confirmed the positive contribution of both PEGylation and the dipeptide linkage to the improved drug-like properties of PEG-vcTNF-α.The results here indicate that linking proteins and PEG via the cathepsin B-sensitive dipeptide may be a promising strategy for developing protein therapeutics.DAI ChuanYun FU Ya LI Biao WANG YiGuang ZHANG Xuan WANG JianCheng ZHANG Qiang 2011Science China(Life Sciences)2011,54,2:4

15Oxidation behaviors of(Hf_(0.25)Zr_(0.25)Ta_(0.25)Nb_(0.25))C and(Hf_(0.25)Zr_(0.25)Ta_(0.25)Nb_(0.25))C-SiC at 1300-1500℃显示文摘In this work,high-entropy ceramics(Hf_(0.25) Zr_(0.25)Ta_(0.25)Nb_(0.25))C(HZTNC) and HZTNC doped with 20 vol%SiC(HZTNC-SiC) were fabricated by spark plasma sintering.Their oxidation behavior was investigated over the temperature range of 1300-1500℃ for up to 60 min.Both HZTNC and HZTNC-SiC exhibited good oxidation resistance,and their weight change as a function of oxidation time obeyed a parabolic law.Through XRD,microstructure observation,and elemental mapping analysis of the oxide layers,it was found that the formation of Nb_(2) Zr_(6) O_(17),Hf_(6) Ta_(2) O_(17),and(Ta,Nb)_(2) O_(5) mixed-oxide layers effectively protected the matrix from further oxidation.Microcracks began to appear on the oxide layer of HZTNC at high temperatures after 60 min of oxidation.However,the addition of SiC in HZTNC suppressed these microcracks at high temperatures due to the active oxidation of SiC.Compared with the oxides formed on HZTNC,the additional formation of Hf(Zr)SiO_(4) on HZTNC-SiC could further improve its oxidation resistance over HZTNC ceramics.Haoxuan Wang Shouye Wang Yejie Cao Wen Liu Yiguang Wang 2021Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,1:2

17Inhaled amifostine for the prevention of radiation-induced lung injury显示文摘Objective:To alleviate radiation-induced lung injury and prevent the related pneumonitis and pulmonary fibrosis by inhaled amifostine(AMI).Methods:15 Gy 60Coγ-ray irradiation was performed on the thoracic area of rats once to establish the radiation injury model.AMI was intraperitoneally(i.p.)injected or intratracheally(i.t.)administered to the rats 30 min preirradiation.The protective effects of the two AMI administration manners were compared in the aspects of hematopoietic system,lung edema,and histopathological examination,and the mechanisms were explored.Results:Compared to i.p.AMI,i.t.AMI remarkably alleviated radiation-induced lung injury and prevented consequent pneumonitis or pulmonary fibrosis.Specifically,i.t.AMI notably protected white blood cells and platelets,reduced the lung wet/dry weight ratio,and decreased collagen volume fractions compared to the model group(P<0.05),while i.p.AMI showed no significant difference with the model group(P>0.05).The high therapeutic efficiency of i.t.AMI was related to its high antioxidation and anti-inflammation effects with downregulation of pro-inflammatory cytokines,the enhanced superoxide dismutase activity,the low levels of malondialdehyde and total proteins.Conclusion:Inhaled AMI is a promising medicine for preventing radiation-induced lung injury,including pneumonitis and pulmonary fibrosis.Ting Chen Bo Zhuang Yueqi Huang Wanmei Wang Yiguang Jin 2022Radiation Medicine and Protection2022,3,2:2

19Smart drug delivery systems for precise cancer therapy显示文摘Nano-drug delivery strategies have been highlighted in cancer treatment, and much effort has been made in the optimization of bioavailability, biocompatibility, pharmacokinetics profiles, and in vivo distributions of anticancer nano-drug delivery systems. However, problems still exist in the delicate balance between improved anticancer efficacy and reduced toxicity to normal tissues, and opportunities arise along with the development of smart stimuli-responsive delivery strategies. By on-demand responsiveness towards exogenous or endogenous stimulus, these smart delivery systems hold promise for advanced tumor-specificity as well as controllable release behavior in a spatial-temporal manner. Meanwhile, the blossom of nanotechnology, material sciences, and biomedical sciences has shed light on the diverse modern drug delivery systems with smart characteristics, versatile functions, and modification possibilities. This review summarizes the current progress in various strategies for smart drug delivery systems against malignancies and introduces the representative endogenous and exogenous stimuli-responsive smart delivery systems. 20Experimental verification of performance improvement for a gigabit wavelength division multiplexing visible light communication system utilizing asymmetrically clipped optical orthogonal frequency division multiplexing显示文摘Asymmetrically clipped optical orthogonal frequency division multiplexing(ACO-OFDM)has been a promising candidate in visible light communications(VLC)due to its improvement in power efficiency and reduction of nonlinearity based on previous simulation analysis.In this paper,for the first time as far as we know,we experimentally verify that ACO-OFDM would be an efficient scheme to improve the performance of a gigabit wavelength division multiplexing VLC system.Our theoretical investigations reveal that the advantages of ACO-OFDM can be attributed to the reduction of inter-carrier interference caused by signal–signal beating noise.An aggregate data rate of 1.05 Gb∕s is successfully achieved over 30 cm transmission below the 7%forwarderror-correction threshold of 3.8×10−3.The experimental results show that ACO-OFDM can outperform DC-biased optical OFDM by BER performance of 1.5 dB at the same data rate and 4 dB at the same bandwidth,which clearly demonstrates the benefit and feasibility of ACO-OFDM.Yiguang Wang Yuanquan Wang Nan Chi 2014Photonics Research2014,2,5:2
