A 10-miRNA risk score-based prediction model for pathological complete response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy in hormone receptor-positive breast cancer显示文摘Patients with hormone receptor(HR)-positive tumors breast cancer usually experience a relatively low pathological complete response(p CR)to neoadjuvant chemotherapy(NAC).Here,we derived a 10-micro RNA risk score(10-mi RNA RS)-based model with better performance in the prediction of p CR and validated its relation with the disease-free survival(DFS)in 755 HRpositive breast cancer patients(273,265,and 217 in the training, internal, and external validation sets, respectively). This model, presented as a nomogram, included four parameters:the 10-mi RNA RS found in our previous study, progesterone receptor(PR),human epidermal growth factor receptor 2(HER2)status,and volume transfer constant(K).Favorable calibration and discrimination of 10-mi RNA RS-based model with areas under the curve(AUC)of 0.865,0.811,and 0.804 were shown in the training, internal, and external validation sets, respectively.Patients who have higher nomogram score(>92.2)with NAC treatment would have longer DFS(hazard ratio=0.57;95%CI:0.39–0.83;P=0.004).In summary, our data showed the 10-mi RNA RS-based model could precisely identify more patients who can attain p CR to NAC,which may help clinicians formulate the personalized initial treatment strategy and consequently achieves better clinical prognosis for patients with HRpositive breast cancer. | Chang Gong Ziliang Cheng Yaping Yang Jun Shen Yingying Zhu Li Ling Wanyi Lin Zhigang Yu Zhihua Li Weige Tan Chushan Zheng Wenbo Zheng Jiajie Zhong Xiang Zhang Yunjie Zeng Qiang Liu RStephanie Huang Andrzej LKomorowski Eddy SYang François Bertucci Francesco Ricci Armando Orlandi Gianluca Franceschini Kazuaki Takabe Suzanne Klimberg Naohiro Ishii Angela Toss Mona PTan Mathew A Cherian Erwei Song | 2022 | Science China(Life Sciences)2022,65,11: | 3
Analysis on the Clinical Effect of Shenling Baizhu San Combined with Routine Treatment on Bacterial Pneumonia in Children显示文摘[Objectives]To explore the effect of Shenling Baizhu San combined with routine treatment on the clinical efficacy, gastrointestinal function protection, inflammatory response and immune function of children with bacterial pneumonia.[Methods]From July 2017 to January 2018,80 children with bacterial pneumonia were randomly selected and divided into observation group and control group with 40 cases in each group. The control group was treated with conventional Western medicine, while the observation group was treated with Shenling Baizhu San on the basis of conventional treatment, with a period of 10 d.Then,we compared the clinical efficacy, incidence of gastrointestinal symptoms,WBC,CRP,CD4+and CD8+levels between the two groups.[Results]The clinical efficacy of the observation group was better than that of the control group(P<0.05).After treatment, the levels of WBC and CRP in the two groups decreased, especially in the observation group(P<0.05).After treatment, the level of CD4+in both groups increased significantly, while the level of CD8+decreased significantly, and the level of CD4+in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group after treatment. The incidence of gastrointestinal symptoms in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group(P<0.01).[Conclusions]Shenling Baizhu San can obviously improve the clinical effect of bacterial pneumonia in children and has the protective effect of gastrointestinal tract, and its mechanism may be related to its anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory effects. | Jinli FENG Cheng ZHANG Houjun CHEN Ziliang CHEN Yongfeng CHEN Zhiguang WU | 2020 | Medicinal Plant2020,11,3: | 2
Programmed death ligand-1 regulates angiogenesis and metastasis by participating in the c-JUN/VEGFR2 signaling axis in ovarian cancer显示文摘Background:Although programmed cell death-ligand 1(PD-L1)plays a wellknown function in immune checkpoint response by interacting with programmed cell death-1(PD-1),the cell-intrinsic role of PD-L1 in tumors is still unclear. Here,we explored the molecular regulatory mechanism of PD-L1 in the progression and metastasis of ovarian cancer. Methods:Immunohistochemistry of benign tissues and ovarian cancer samples was performed, followed by migration, invasion, and angiogenesis assays in PDL1-knockdown ovarian cancer cells.Immunoprecipitation, mass spectrometry, and chromatin immunoprecipitation were conducted along with zebrafish and mouse experiments to explore the specific functions and mechanisms of PD-L1 in ovarian cancer. Results:Our results showed that PD-L1 induced angiogenesis, which further promoted cell migration and invasion in vitro and in vivo of ovarian cancer.Mechanistically,PD-L1 was identified to directly interact with vascular endothelial growth factor receptor-2(VEGFR2)and then activated the FAK/AKT pathway, which further induced angiogenesis and tumor progression, leading to poor prognosis of ovarian cancer patients.Meanwhile,PD-L1 was found to be regulated by the oncogenic transcription factor c-JUN at the transcriptional level, which enhanced the expression of PD-L1 in ovarian cancer.Furthermore,we demonstrated that PD-L1 inhibitor durvalumab, combined with the antiangiogenic drug, apatinib, could enhance the effect of anti-angiogenesis and the inhibition of cell migration and invasion. Conclusion:Our results demonstrated that PD-L1 promoted the angiogenesis and metastasis of ovarian cancer by participating in the c-JUN/VEGFR2 signaling axis, suggesting that the combination of PD-L1 inhibitor and antiangiogenic drugs may be considered as a potential therapeutic approach for ovarian cancer patients. | Yufei Yang Lingfang Xia Yong Wu Hongyu Zhou Xin Chen Haoran Li Midie Xu Zihao Qi Ziliang Wang Huizhen Sun Xi Cheng | 2021 | Cancer Communications2021,41,6: | 1
Protective Effect of Shenlingbaizhu Powder on Peroxidation Injury and Inflammatory Response in Mice with Pneumonia显示文摘[Objectives]The study aims to explore the protective effect of Shenlingbaizhu powder on peroxidation injury and inflammatory response in mice with pneumonia.[Methods]60 NIH mice were randomly divided into the blank group, model group, control group, large dose group, medium dose group and small dose group of Shenlingbaizhu powder. The mice in the control group were given cefixime granules, while the mice in each group of Shenlingbaizhu powder were given corresponding concentrations of Shenlingbaizhu powder water decoction by gavage. After 7 d,the content of MAD,SOD and CRP in the mice were detected by ELISA,while the content of NO was detected by fluorescence, and lung index was also detected.[Results]The medium dose and large dose of Shenlingbaizhu powder can effectively reduce the concentration of MAD and improve the level of SOD in mice with pneumonia. The effect of the large dose of Shenlingbaizhu powder is more obvious than that of the control group. Moreover, the large dose of Shenlingbaizhu powder can effectively reduce the level of NO in mice with pneumonia. In addition, the medium dose and large dose of Shenlingbaizhu powder can reduce the lung index and CRP level of mice with pneumonia, and the results are statistically significant.[Conclusions]The medium dose and large dose of Shenlingbaizhu powder can effectively reduce the concentration of MAD and improve the level of SOD in mice with pneumonia. The effect of the large dose of Shenlingbaizhu powder is more obvious than that of the control group. Moreover, the large dose of Shenlingbaizhu powder can effectively reduce the level of NO in mice with pneumonia. In addition, the medium dose and large dose of Shenlingbaizhu powder can reduce the lung index and CRP level of mice with pneumonia, and the results are statistically significant. | Jinli FENG Cheng ZHANG Houjun CHEN Ziliang CHEN Yongfeng CHEN Zhiguang WU | 2020 | Medicinal Plant2020,11,4: | 1
Segment differential aggregation representation and supervised compensation learning of ConvNets for human action recognition显示文摘With more multi-modal data available for visual classification tasks, human action recognition has become an increasingly attractive topic. However, one of the main challenges is to effectively extract complementary features from different modalities for action recognition. In this work,a novel multimodal supervised learning framework based on convolution neural networks(Conv Nets)is proposed to facilitate extracting the compensation features from different modalities for human action recognition.Built on information aggregation mechanism and deep Conv Nets, our recognition framework represents spatial-temporal information from the base modalities by a designed frame difference aggregation spatial-temporal module(FDA-STM),that the networks bridges information from skeleton data through a multimodal supervised compensation block(SCB)to supervise the extraction of compensation features. We evaluate the proposed recognition framework on three human action datasets, including NTU RGB+D 60,NTU RGB+D 120,and PKU-MMD.The results demonstrate that our model with FDA-STM and SCB achieves the state-of-the-art recognition performance on three benchmark datasets. | REN ZiLiang ZHANG QieShi CHENG Qin XU ZhenYu YUAN Shuai LUO DeLin | 2024 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2024,67,1: | 0
