3Annual variations of black carbon over the Yangtze River Delta from 2015 to 2018显示文摘In this study,the black carbon (BC) measurements in the atmosphere of Nanjing,China were continuously conducted from 2015 to 2018 using a Model AE-33 aethalometer.By combining dataset of PM_(2.5),PM_(10),CO,NO_2,SO_2,O_3 and meteorological parameters,the temporal variations and the source apportionment of BC were given in this study.The results showed that the PM_(2.5) mass concentrations decreased in Nanjing,with an average annual rate of variation of 6.50μg/(m^3·year).Differently,the annual average concentrations of BC increased with an average annual variation rate of 214.71 ng/(m^3·year).The seasonal variations showed the pattern of BC mass concentrations in winter>autumn>spring>summer.The diurnal variations of BC mass concentrations showed a double-peak in all four seasons.The first peak occurred at approximately 7:00 in spring,summer and autumn and around 8:00 in winter.The second peak took place after 18:00.The average AAE (absorption ?ngstr?m exponent) was 1.26 with a maximum of 1.35 during wintertime and the lowest(1.12) during summertime.In addition,the AAE was smaller in the daytime than that at night,with a minimum occurring between 13:00 and 14:00.BC and visibility show a good power-function relationship at different humidity levels.The average values of the visibility thresholds of the BC mass concentrations in spring,summer,autumn and winter were 1.326,5.522,1.340 and 0.708μg/m^3,respectively.The greater the relative humidity,the smaller the visibility threshold for the BC mass concentrations was.Yue Tan Honglei Wang Shuangshuang Shi Lijuan Shen Chen Zhang Bin Zhu Song Guo zhijun Wu Ziyi Song Yan Yin Ankang Liu 2020Journal of Environmental Sciences2020,32,10:8
4High-resolution, in vivo multimodal photoacoustic microscopy, optical coherence tomography, and fluorescence microscopy imaging of rabbit retinal neovascularization显示文摘Photoacoustic microscopy(PAM)is an emerging imaging technology that can non-invasively visualize ocular structures in animal eyes.This report describes an integrated multimodality imaging system that combines PAM,optical coherence tomography(OCT),and fluorescence microscopy(FM)to evaluate angiogenesis in larger animal eyes.High-resolution in vivo imaging was performed in live rabbit eyes with vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)-induced retinal neovascularization(RNV).The results demonstrate that our multimodality imaging system can noninvasively visualize RNV in both albino and pigmented rabbits to determine retinal pathology using PAM and OCT and verify the leakage of neovascularization using FM and fluorescein dye.This work presents high-resolution visualization of angiogenesis in rabbits using a multimodality PAM,OCT,and FM system and may represent a major step toward the clinical translation of the technology.Wei Zhang Yanxiu Li Van Phuc Nguyen Ziyi Huang Zhipeng Liu Xueding Wang Yannis M.Paulus 2018Light(Science & Applications)2018,7,1:7

6Effective and biocompatible antibacterial surfaces via facile synthesis and surface modification of peptide polymers显示文摘It is an urgent need to tackle drug-resistance microbial infections that are associated with implantable biomedical devices.Host defense peptide-mimicking polymers have been actively explored in recent years to fight against drug-resistant microbes.Our recent report on lithium hexamethyldisilazide-initiated superfast polymerization on amino acid N-carboxyanhydrides enables the quick synthesis of host defense peptide-mimicking peptide polymers.Here we reported a facile and cost-effective thermoplastic polyurethane(TPU)surface modification of peptide polymer(DLL:BLG=90:10)using plasma surface activation and substitution reaction between thiol and bromide groups.The peptide polymer-modified TPU surfaces exhibited board-spectrum antibacterial property as well as effective contact-killing ability in vitro.Furthermore,the peptide polymer-modified TPU surfaces showed excellent biocompatibility,displaying no hemolysis and cytotoxicity.In vivo study using methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus(MRSA)for subcutaneous implantation infectious model showed that peptide polymer-modified TPU surfaces revealed obvious suppression of infection and great histocompatibility,compared to bare TPU surfaces.We further explored the antimicrobial mechanism of the peptide polymer-modified TPU surfaces,which revealed a surface contact-killing mechanism by disrupting the bacterial membrane.These results demonstrated great potential of the peptide-modified TPU surfaces for practical application to combat bacterial infections that are associated with implantable materials and devices.Ziyi Lu Yueming Wu Zihao Cong Yuxin Qian Xue Wu Ning Shao Zhongqian Qiao Haodong Zhang Yunrui She Kang Chen Hengxue Xiang Bin Sun Qian Yu Yuan Yuan Haodong Lin Meifang Zhu Runhui Liu 2021Bioactive Materials2021,6,12:5
7Pregnancy outcomes after fertility preservation in women with endometrial carcinoma and atypical endometrial hyperplasia:A systematic review and meta-analysis显示文摘Objective:The objective of the study was to compare the effects of assisted reproductive technology(ART)and spontaneous pregnancy on pregnancy outcomes in women with endometrial carcinoma(EC)and atypical endometrial hyperplasia(AEH)following fertility-sparing treatments.Methods:Relevant studies published through July 2020 were identified from PubMed and Web of Science literature searches.The pregnancy outcomes of ART and spontaneous pregnancy were summarized and compared for women with complete remission of EC/AEH after fertility-sparing treatments.A subgroup analysis was performed based on whether patients had received in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer(IVF-ET)treatment.The complete remission and recurrence rates of EC/AEH following fertility-sparing treatments were estimated.The effect of pregnancy on recurrence rates of EC/AEH was also calculated.Results:Sixteen observational studies reporting pregnancy outcomes or recurrence with ART or spontaneous pregnancy for women with EC/AEH after fertility-sparing treatments were included.The complete remission rate of EC/AEH was 81.5%(95%CI,78%–85%).Compared with spontaneous pregnancy,the pregnancy rate of ART was significantly higher(66.8%vs.43.7%,OR=2.64,95%CI 1.71–4.05,P<0.00001,I^(2)=14%).Subgroup analysis showed that the pregnancy rate of IVF-ET was significantly higher than that of spontaneous pregnancy(62.7%vs.35.1%,OR=2.85,95%CI 1.44-5.63,P=0.003,I^(2)=29%).The live birth rate of ART was significantly higher than that of spontaneous pregnancy(75.3%vs.47.8%,OR=3.96,95%CI1.76-8.77,P=0.0009,I^(2)=45%).The recurrence rate of EC/AEH was 31%(95%CI 24%–39%).Clinical pregnancy could reduce the recurrence rate of EC/AEH,but there was no significant evidence of an association.Conclusions:ART,especially IVF-ET,could significantly improve pregnancy outcomes in women with EC/AEH receiving fertility-sparing treatments.Following complete remission,ART treatment might be a better option for women with EC/AEH than spontaneous pregnancy.Zerui Xiao Ziyi Song Jianliu Wang Huixin Liu Qun Lu 2021Gynecology and Obstetrics Clinical Medicine2021,1,4:4
8Heritability of growth traits in the Asian seabass (Lates calcarifer)显示文摘Growth is an economically important trait in aquaculture.To improve growth trait of the Asian seabass(Lates calcarifer)we have been carrying out,since 2004,a selective breeding program.This study focuses on growth traits in the F2 fish generation,comprised of offspring from 23 mass crosses from 383 F_(1) brooders.Using genotyping analysis for 10 microsatellites from both brood stock and progeny we have reconstructed the pedigree of each mass-cross.For F_(2) generation at 90 days post hatch(dph),we have recorded body weight(BW)for 12,117 individuals and total length(TL),standard length(SL)and condition factor(K_(tl) and K_(sl))for 3530 individuals;and all five traits for 2136 individuals at 270 dph.At 90 dph the average BW was 46.88±20.95 g.Combining pedigree information,recorded growth traits and Restricted Maximum Likelihood method,we have estimated that the narrow sense heritability(h^(2))in F_(1) fish for BW,TL,SL,K_(tl) and K_(sl) was at,90 dph,0.12±0.03,0.11±0.03,0.10±0.03,0.20±0.04 and 0.11±0.03,respectively and,at 270 dph,0.34±0.07,0.32±0.07,0.30±0.06,0.13±0.04 and 0.11±0.04,respectively.At 90 dph the realised heritability for BW was 0.13.Comparing with F_(1) generation,the growth performance of F_(2) fish was increased by 14.4%.Heritability of growth traits will be useful for future genetic improvement programmes of the Asian seabass.Baoqing Ye Ziyi Wan Le Wang Hongyan Pang Yanfei Wen Huiming Liu Bing Liang Huan Sein Lim Junhui Jiang Genhua Yue 2017Aquaculture and Fisheries2017,2,3:4

10Deep plug-and-play priors for spectral snapshot compressive imaging显示文摘We propose a plug-and-play(Pn P) method that uses deep-learning-based denoisers as regularization priors for spectral snapshot compressive imaging(SCI). Our method is efficient in terms of reconstruction quality and speed trade-off, and flexible enough to be ready to use for different compressive coding mechanisms. We demonstrate the efficiency and flexibility in both simulations and five different spectral SCI systems and show that the proposed deep Pn P prior could achieve state-of-the-art results with a simple plug-in based on the optimization framework. This paves the way for capturing and recovering multi-or hyperspectral information in one snapshot,which might inspire intriguing applications in remote sensing, biomedical science, and material science. 12An on-chip intestine-liver model for multiple drugs absorption and metabolism behavior simulation显示文摘A double-layer microfluidic chip integrated with a hollow fiber(HF)was developed to reconstitute the intestine-liver functionality for studying the absorption and metabolism of combination drugs.Caco-2 cells were inoculated in the HF cavity at the top of the serpentine channel to simulate the intestinal tissue for drug absorption and transport studied,and Hep G2 cells,seeded in the bottom chamber,were used to mimic the liver for metabolism-related studies.Genistein and dacarbazine were selected for combination drug therapy and its effects on cell viability,hepatotoxicity,and cell cycle arrest under drug-conditioned culture were investigated.The results suggested that the combined concentration below-100μg/m L had no significant inhibitory effect on Hep G2 cell viability,and therefore Hep G2 cells maintained their drug metabolism ability.When the drug concentration was increased above 250μg/m L,Hep G2 cells underwent apoptosis.Detection of metabolites by mass spectrometry proved the effective metabolism in the microchip model.This dynamic,co-culture microchip successfully provided a podium for long-term observation of absorption,transport,and metabolism of combination drugs,and could be an effective in vitro simulation model for further clinical research.Mingsha Jie Haifeng Lin Ziyi He Hanyang Liu Haifang Li Jin-Ming Lin 2018Science China Chemistry2018,61,2:3
13Multi-omics approaches identify SF3B3 and SIRT3 as candidate autophagic regulators and druggable targets in invasive breast carcinoma显示文摘Autophagy is a critical cellular homeostatic mechanism,and its dysfunction is linked to invasive breast carcinoma(BRCA).Recently,several omics methods have been applied to explore autophagic regulators in BRCA;however,more reliable and robust approaches for identifying crucial regulators and druggable targets remain to be discovered.Thus,we report here the results of multi-omics approaches to identify potential autophagic regulators in BRCA,including gene expression(EXP),DNA methylation(MET)and copy number alterations(CNAs)from The Cancer Genome Atlas(TCGA).Newly identified candidate genes,such as SF3 B3,TRAPPC10,SIRT3,MTERFD1,and FBXO5,were confirmed to be involved in the positive or negative regulation of autophagy in BRCA.SF3 B3 was identified firstly as a negative autophagic regulator,and siRNA/shRNA-SF3 B3 were shown to induce autophagyassociated cell death in in vitro and in vivo breast cancer models.Moreover,a novel small-molecule activator of SIRT3,1-methylbenzylamino amiodarone,was discovered to induce autophagy in vitro and in vivo.Together,these results provide multi-omics approaches to identify some key candidate autophagic regulators,such as the negative regulator SF3 B3 and positive regulator SIRT3 in BRCA,and highlight SF3 B3 and SIRT3 as new druggable targets that could be used to fill the gap between autophagy and cancer drug development.Shouyue Zhang Jin Zhang Yang An Xiaoxi Zeng Ziyi Qin Yuqian Zhao Heng Xu Bo Liu 2021Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2021,11,5:3
14The Experimental Study of Iron Sulfide Mineral Evolution Under Thermal Sulfurization Condition显示文摘Iron sulfide minerals are widely distributed, of which characteristics had the identification significance of formation environment. Previously, there were more research on iron sulfide minerals under hydrothermal condition, and few studies under volcanism formation condition. To simulate volcanic mineralization, the study of different temperature from 250 to 410℃ , different iron sulfur ratio from Fe:S=2∶1 to 1∶8, and two different sources of iron, reduced iron powder (Fe) and ferrous sulfide (FeS), on iron sulfide mineral evolution was investigated under thermal sulfurization condition. 16Mycorrhiza improves plant growth and photosynthetic characteristics of tea plants in response to drought stress显示文摘Tea plants are sensitive to soil moisture deficit,with the level of soil water being a critical factor affecting their growth and quality.Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi(AMF)can improve water and nutrient absorption,but it is not clear whether AMF can improve the photosynthetic characteristics of tea plants.A potted study was conducted to determine the effects of Claroideoglomus etunicatum on plant growth,leaf water status,pigment content,gas exchange,and chlorophyll fluorescence parameters in Camellia sinensis cv.Fuding Dabaicha under well-watered(WW)and drought stress(DS)conditions.Root mycorrhizal colonization and soil hyphal length were significantly reduced by the eightweek DS treatment.AMF inoculation displayed a significant increase in shoot and root biomass production.The relative water content,leaf water potential,nitrogen balance index,pigment content,maximum photometric effect(Fv/Fm,QY_max),and steady-state photometric effect Y(II)(QY_Lss)decreased dramatically,while the leaf water saturation deficit and steady-state non-photochemical fluorescence quenching(NPQ_Lss)generally increased under DS conditions.Mycorrhizal treatment induced significantly higher relative water content,leaf water potential,nitrogen balance index,pigment(chlorophyll,flavonoid,and anthocyanin)content,net photosynthesis rate,transpiration rate,stomatal conductance,intercellular CO_(2)concentration,QY_max,and QY_Lss;however,it resulted in a lower leaf water saturation deficit and NPQ_Lss under both WW and DS conditions,as compared with nonmycorrhizal plants.These results imply that AMF promoted tea plant growth and alleviated negative effects of DS by promoting gas exchange,regulating the water status of leaves,and regulating photosynthetic parameters.FENGJUN DAI ZIYI RONG QIANGSHENG WU ELSAYED FATHI ABD_ALLAH CHUNYAN LIU SHENGRUI LIU 2022BIOCELL2022,46,5:2
17Osteopontin inhibits osteoarthritis progression via the OPN/CD44/PI3K signal axis显示文摘Chondrocyte degeneration and extracellular matrix component loss are the primary causes of osteoarthritis(OA).OA can be treated by inhibiting chondrocyte degeneration and increasing extracellular matrix component secretion.Osteopontin(OPN),a multifunctional protein,has gained immense attention with regard to its involvement in OA.This study aimed to explore the therapeutic value and mechanism of action of OPN in OA treatment.Results of the histomorphological analysis revealed a worn-off OA cartilage tissue surface,cartilage matrix layer deterioration,and calcium salt deposition.Compared to that in normal chondrocytes,in OA chondrocytes,the OPN,CD44,and PI3K protein and mRNA expression was upregulated.Further,siOPN,rhOPN,and rhOPN plus LS-C179404 interfered with OA chondrocytes.As verified in mice,OPN directly inhibited the expression level of PI3K in OA chondrocytes by binding with CD44.Morphological analysis of the knee joints demonstrated that OPN effectively inhibited OA progression via the OPN/CD44/PI3K signal axis.In conclusion,OPN activates intracellular PI3K signaling molecules by binding to CD44 on the cell surface to cause downstream cascading effects,thereby delaying chondrocyte degeneration and reducing cartilage matrix component loss;therefore,OPN is a potential therapeutic agent for OA.Qing Liu Hao Zeng Yuhao Yuan Zhiwei Wang Ziyi Wu Wei Luo 2022Genes & Diseases2022,9,1:2

20Kernel-blending connection approximated by a neural network for image classification显示文摘This paper proposes a kernel-blending connection approximated by a neural network(KBNN)for image classification.A kernel mapping connection structure,guaranteed by the function approximation theorem,is devised to blend feature extraction and feature classification through neural network learning.First,a feature extractor learns features from the raw images.Next,an automatically constructed kernel mapping connection maps the feature vectors into a feature space.Finally,a linear classifier is used as an output layer of the neural network to provide classification results.Furthermore,a novel loss function involving a cross-entropy loss and a hinge loss is proposed to improve the generalizability of the neural network.Experimental results on three well-known image datasets illustrate that the proposed method has good classification accuracy and generalizability.Xinxin Liu Yunfeng Zhang Fangxun Bao Kai Shao Ziyi Sun Caiming Zhang 2020Computational Visual Media2020,6,4:2
