| 1 | CFD-DEM modelling of mixing and segregation of binary mixtures of ellipsoidal particles in liquid fluidizations显示文摘Solid-liquid fluidized beds of binary mixtures are widely used in many industries.Particle segregation may occur as particles can differ in size,density,or shape.Extensive studies have been conducted in the past to understand the effects of particlesize and density on the mixing and segregation,but the effect of particle shape has not been well addressed.Therefore,in the present work,CFD-DEM approach is employed to perform a numerical analysis of the effect of particle shape on the particle mixing and segregation phenomenon in liquid fluidization system.Different particle shapes from oblate to prolate are produced by varying aspect ratio of ellipsoids from 0.25 to 3,and eight binary mixtures of spheres and ellipsoids are examined.The results show that when oblate or prolate particles are added to spheres,the segregation takes place.The segregation degree increases with particle aspect ratio diverging from 1.0 and also liquid superficial velocity.The relationship of mixing index with aspect ratio under different liquid velocities is established,and a detailed explanation is given.It is revealed that increasing the projected area and hence the drag force results in the separation of ellipsoidal particles from spheres. | Esmaeil Abbaszadeh Molaei Aibing Yu Zongyan Zhou | 2019 | Journal of Hydrodynamics2019，31，6： | 3 |

| 4 | Radiolarian and Detrital Zircon in the Upper Carboniferous to Permian Bancheng Formation,Qinfang Basin,and the Geological Significance显示文摘The Bancheng Formation exposed along the Shiti Reservoir nearby Bancheng Town, Qinfang Basin, southern Guangxi, is mainly composed of thin-bedded chert. The radiolarian assemblages in the studied section suggest it was a pelagic setting and the age of the Bancheng Formation is Late Carboniferous to Early Permian. The detrital zircon U-Pb ages from the section are characterized by a Permian peak at ~282 Ma. Detrital zircon provenance analysis suggests that the Permian detrital zircons in the Bancheng Formation were likely from volcanic-magmatic arc rocks related to the subduction of the Paleo-Tethyan Ocean. The long-lived deposition(from Upper Devonian to Middle Permian, about 125 Ma) of the radiolarian cherts in the Qinfang Basin was comparable with that deposited in Ailaoshan Ocean. The radiolarian assemblages in Qinfang Basin show a Tethyan affinity. | 15 | The Changhsingian Foraminiferal Fauna of the Meishan D Section, Zhejiang, China, and their Ecostratigraphic Implications显示文摘Samples were collected continuously and systematically from Beds 2 to 30 of the Meishan D section, and nearly 4,000 foraminiferal specimens were recognized. In total, 72 species(partially including undetermined species and conformis species) in 34 genera of foraminifers were identified. Twelve foraminiferal community zones were established from Beds 2 to 27 based on the abundance, dominance, diversity, and equitability of the foraminiferal fauna and a functional morphological analysis of the dominant and characteristic species. The habitat type indicated by each community zone and the sedimentary features were used to determine the paleo-water depths and the relative changes in sea level. We generated curves of both the habitat type and the hydrodynamic conditions, which together indicate the relative changes in the paleo-water depth and the substrate features in the studied area during the Changhsingian.
