1Variations of stable isotopic compositions in precipitation on the Tibetan Plateau and its adjacent regions显示文摘There is no temperature effect in the southern Tibetan Plateau and South Asia to the south of the Tanggula Mountains. Amount effect has been observed at a few sampling stations accounting for about a half of the statistical stations. There is notable temperature effect in the middle and northern Tibetan Plateau and its adjacent Central Asia to the north of the Tanggula Mountains. Because vapor directly originates from low-latitude oceans, the relative heavy ( 18O with small variation characterizes the rainfall in South Asia. A sharp depletion of the stable isotopic compositions in precipitation takes place from Kyangjin on the southern slope of the Himalayas to the Tanggula Mountains in the middle plateau. 3Tele-Network Design Based on Queue Competition Algorithm显示文摘In this paper, we report research on how to design the tele-network. First of all, we defined the reliability of tele-network. According to the definition, we divide the whole reliability into two parts:the reliability of the mini-way and that of the whole system. Then we do algebra unintersection of the mini-way, deriving a function of reliability of tele-network. Also, we got a function of the cost of tele-network after analyzing the cost of arcs and points. Finally, we give a mathematical model to design a tele-network. For the algorithm, we define the distance of a network and adjacent area within certain boundaries . We present a new algorithm--Queue Competition Algorithm (QCA) based on the adjacent area . 4Modeling the land surface reflectance for optical remote sensing data in rugged terrain显示文摘A model for topographic correction and land surface reflectance estimation for optical remote sensing data in rugged terrian is presented.Considering a directional-directional reflectance that is used for direct solar irradiance correction and a hemispheric-directional reflectance that is used for atmospheric diffuse irradiance and terrain background reflected irradiance correction respectively,the directional reflectance-based model for topographic effects removing and land surface reflectance calculation is developed by deducing the directional reflectance with topographic effects and using a radiative transfer model.A canopy reflectance simulated by GOMS model and Landsat/TM raw data covering Jiangxi rugged area were taken to validate the performance of the model presented in the paper.The validation results show that the model presented here has a remarkable ability to correct topography and estimate land surface reflectance and also provides a technique method for sequently quantitative remote sensing application in terrain area.WEN JianGuang LIU QinHuo XIAO Qing LIU Qiang LI XiaoWen 2008Science China Earth Sciences2008,51,8:11

6Sequence-stratigraphic frameworks and their palaeogeographic patterns for the Permian Lopingian of the Dianqiangui Basin and its adjacent areas of Southwestern China显示文摘The Permian Lopingian in the Dianqiangui Basin and its adjacent areas is marked by the coal measures of the Wuchiapingian and the carbonate strata of the Changhsingian stages. For the Lopingian of the Dianqiangui Basin and its adjacent areas,the diversity of sedimentary facies and the obviousness of facies change provide an advantaged condition on a study of sequence stratigraphy. Approximately,the Wuchiapingian stage constitutes a third-order sequence and the Changhsingian stage forms an-other. For the Wuchiapingian stage in the study area,coal-measures were developed on the attached platform and,in addition,a special coal-measure that is composed of both limestone beds and coal beds was also developed in the central part of some isolated platforms. Grain-bank grainstones and packstones were formed on the margin of the attached platform as well as in the windward part of iso-lated platforms. For the Changhsingian stage in the study area,open-platform limestones were formed on the attached platform,while sponge-reef limestones were developed both on the margin of the at-tached platform and on the isolated platforms. The Lopingian Series is a set of basin-facies muddy shales with interbeds of silicalites in the inter-platform basin,which appears a set of the large-thick coarse clastic strata of molasses covering direct the deep-water strata from the Devonian to the Per-mian Yangsingian in the Qinzhou-Fangcheng region in the southern part of the study area. All of these features indicate the complexity of temporal-spatial facies-changes. Sequence-stratigraphic frame-works could be established,which would illustrate two types of facies-changing surfaces and dia-chronisms in the stratigraphic records,based on the combination of both biostratigraphic and chronostratigraphic materials and the regularity reflected by temporal evolutionary succession of sediments as well as spatial distributional patterns of sedimentary facies. Ultimately,features of sedi-mentary succession and palaeogeographical evolution of the Permian Lopingian in the study area are revealed clearly in a series of the panel diagrams of sequence-stratigraphic frameworks and the outline maps showing the sedimentary-facies and palaeogeography. The Permian Lopingian formed by two third-order sequences differs from the stratigraphy of the same era characterized by the constant re-gression along Euramerica. Most specially,if the end-Guadalupian mass-extinction event is genetically related to a regressive event represented by the unconformity of the first episode of the Dongwumovement in the study area,the mass-extinction event at the turn from the Permian to the Triassic is genetically related to a rapid transgressive event re-flected by the drowning unconformity in the study area. 8Dynamic responses of two buildings connected by viscoelastic dampers under bidirectional earthquake excitations显示文摘In this study,dynamic responses of two buildings connected by viscoelastic dampers under bidirectional excitations are extensively investigated.The two buildings are a 10-story building and a 16-story building,with the shorter building on the left.Viscoelastic dampers are installed at all fl oors of the shorter building.Equations of motion are formulated using a fractional derivative model to represent the viscoelastic dampers.Three cases are considered with mass eccentricities at 0,10% and-10% with respect to the dimensions of the buildings.The responses of the buildings are numerically predicted at different damper properties.The simulation results indicated that the maximum horizontal responses of the buildings without eccentricities are signifi cantly mitigated.However,torsional effects are adversely increased.For asymmetric buildings,the effectiveness of the connecting dampers is affected by building eccentricities.As a result,mass eccentricities must be taken into account in damper selection.When compared with vibrations induced by unidirectional excitations,bidirectional excitations can increase the responses of coupled asymmetric buildings.In addition,installing dampers only at the top fl oor of the shorter building may cause a sudden change in lateral stiffness of the taller building.Consequently,the story shear envelopes of the taller building are changed.Z.D. 9Development and Application of CRISPR/Cas System in Rice显示文摘In the past several years, the CRISPR(clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats)/Cas(CRISPR-associated protein) system has been harnessed as an efficient and powerful tool for targeted genome editing in different prokaryotic and eukaryotic species. Here, we review the development and application of CRISPR/Cas system in rice, emphasizing different varieties of CRISPR/Cas systems have been applied, strategies for multiplex editing, methods for precise gene insertion and replacement, and efficient systems for base editing and site-specific transcriptional regulation. In addition, the biosecurity of CRISPR/Cas system is also discussed, including transgene-free methods and off-target effects of CRISPR/Cas system. 10Discussion on the dextral movement and its effect in continental China and adjacent areas since Cenozoic显示文摘Continental China has moved dextral Eastward since Cenozoic time,driven by the collision of the Indian with the Eurasian plate.Evidence for this comes from landscape evolution,the distribution of earthquake epicenters,Cenozoic sedimentary and volcanic rocks,and the measurement of GPS velocity vectors,the distribntion of crustal stress,paleomagnetic data,and deep mantle structure,among others.This movement commenced around 40 Ma,coupled with thickened lithosphere and widespread stress release along strikeslip faults that bound the continental Chinese block.Because of continued Northward subduction of the Indian plate,manifestation of the dextral movement has intensified since 25 Ma.Far-reaching effects include extensive strike-slip movement on the Tan-Lu fault in Eastern China,formation of the Dabie ultrahigh pressure metamorphic terrane,extensive thrust faults in East China,delamination and thickening of the lithosphere of South China,a possible tectonic doubling of the Middle-Lower Yangtze Valley metallogenic belt,and the formation of the Japan,Huanghai (East China),and South China Sea.Rui-zhao Qiu Stephen D.Ludington Su Zhou Yong-jie Tan Guang-sheng Yan Zhi-gang Liu Xiu-fa Chen Quan-long Zhu Lei Qiu Xiao-dong Ren Li-ke Zhao 2018China Geology2018,1,4:3
11Cervical adjacent segment pathology following fusion:Is it due to fusion?显示文摘Adjacent segment pathology affects 25% of patients within ten years of anterior cervical diskectomy and fusion(ACDF). Laboratory studies demonstrate fused segments increase adjacent level stress including elevated intradiscal pressure and increased range of motion. Radiographic adjacent segment pathology(RASP) has been associated to ACDF in multiple statistically significant studies. Randomized controlled trials(RCTs) comparing anterior cervical discectomy and arthroplasty(ACDA) and ACDF have confirmed ACDF accelerates RASP. The question of greatest clinical interest is whether ACDA, artificial disc surgery, results in fewer adjacent level surgeries than ACDF. Current RCT follow up results reveal only non statistically significant trends favoring ACDA yet the post operative periods are only two to four years. Statistically significant increased RASP in ACDF patients however is already documented. The RCT patients' average ages are in the mid forties with an expected longevity of up to forty more years. Early statistically significant increased RASP in the ACDF patients supports our prediction that given sufficient follow up of ten or more years, fusion will lead to statistically significant higher rate of adjacent level surgery compared to artificial disc surgery.Philip Rosenthal Kee D Kim 2013World Journal of Orthopedics2013,4,3:2

13Late Carboniferous-Early Permian Volcanic Event Deposits and Stratigraphic Correlation in Shandong Province and Its Adjacent Regions显示文摘Deposits of 10 volcanic events of 6 stages have been discovered by the authors after detailed field and lab studies of the Benxi and Taiyuan Formations in Shandong Province and its adjacent regions. They show certain temporal-spatial distribution characteristics. Volcanic fragments were probably derived from two different volcanic sources north and south of the North China Platform, while the magma of the two volcanic sources was probably derived from the lower crust. 14The Crust-Mantle Structure in Zhangbei-Shangyi Earthquake Area显示文摘The seismic data obtained from the wide angle reflection and refraction profiles that pass through Zhangjiakou area of Hebei Province were interpreted. 15Distributional features of temperature and salinity in the southern Taiwan Strait and its adjacent sea areas in late summer, 1994显示文摘Based on the CTD data obtained in the southern Taiwan Strait and its adjacent areas in August and September of 1994, the distributional features of the temperature and salinity in the studied area have been analyzed in detail. The results are as follows: (1) There are two low temperature and high salinity regions in the nearshore area between Dongshan and Shantou and in the southeastern Taiwan Shoal, respectively, which may be caused by upwellings. (2) There exists a cold eddy in the northwestern sea area and a warm eddy with two high temperature cores in the eastern sea area of the Dongsha Islands, which are related to the anti-cyclonic turning of the seawater near the Dongsha Islands. 20CLIMATIC FEATURES OF SEA TEMPERATURE OF WARM POOL AND RELATIONSHIP WITH SST OF ITS ADJACENT REGIONS显示文摘In this paper, climatic features of sea temperature of western Pacific warm pool and the relationship with sea surface temperature (SST) of its adjacent regions are analyzed based on the observed sea temperature on vertical cross section along 137°E in western Pacific, the monthly mean SST of Xisha Station in South China Sea and the global monthly mean SST with resolution of 1°× 1° (U. K./GISST2.2). The results indicate that (1) in a sense of correlation, SST of western Pacific warm pool can represent its sea subsurface temperature from surface to 200 m-depth level in winter, and it can only represent sea temperature from surface to 70 m depth in summer. The sea subsurface temperature anomaly of warm pool may be more suitable for representing thermal regime of western Pacific warm pool. The sea subsurface temperature of warm pool has a characteristic of quasi-biennial oscillation. (2) Warm pool and Kuroshio current are subject to different ocean current systems. (3) Furthermore, the relationship between SST of Xisha Station and SST of warm pool has a characteristic of negative correlation in winter and positive correlation in summer, and a better lag negative correlation of SST of Xisha Station with sea subsurface temperature of warm pool exists. (4) Additionally, oscillation structure of sea temperature like 'a seesaw' exists in between warm pool and Regions Nino3 and Nino4.
