TRANSPORT OF THE SUSPENDED SEDIMENT IN THE CHANGJIANG ESTUARY显示文摘The Changjiang River is characterized by the enormous volume of runoff and the great amount of sediment load with remarkable seasonal variation. The annual runoff sometimes is respondent to the amount of sediment load, and sometimes not. The amount of monthly sediment load after the month of the maximum runoff is larger than those before the month. The sediment concentration and net quantity of sediment transport in the vicinity of the river mouth varies greatly in time between the ebb and flood, spring and neap, and dry seasons and flood seasons. The three bifurcations also have differences in concentration and net quantity in space. Even in the same bifurcation they have differences in and out of the sand bar. At present, the North Channel is the main passage for water and sediment load emptying into the sea from the Changjiang River. More than 50 percent of the sediments from the river basin are deposited nearby the South Branch entrance and the main depositional area is situated in subaqueous delta off the South Channel. Between 122°30’E and 123°E is an important boundary for eastward sediment dispersion from which the suspended sediment are dispersed towards the east by south. | SHEN Huanting Institute of Esturaine and Coastal Research, East China Normal University, Shanghai, China LI Jiufa Institute of Esturaine and Coastal Research, East China Normal University, Shanghai, China ZHU Huifang Institute of Esturaine and Coastal Research, East China Normal University, Shanghai, China HAN Mingbao Institute of Esturaine and Coastal Research, East China Normal University, Shanghai, China ZHOU Fugen Department of Marine Geology, Tongji Univcrsity, Shanghai, China | 1992 | International Journal of Sediment Research1992,7,3: | 37
Effects of the Biot and the squirt-flow coupling interaction on anisotropic elastic waves显示文摘Considering the velocity anisotropy of the solid/fluid relative motion and employment of the BISQ theory based on the one-dimensional porous isotropic case, we establish a two-phase anisotropic elastic wave equation to simultaneously include the Biot and the squirt mechanisms in terms of both the basic principles of the fluid’s mass conservation and the elastic-wave dynamical equations in the two-phase anisotropic rock. Numerical results, while the Biot-flow and the squirt-flow effects are simultaneously considered in the transversely isotropic (Tl) poroelastic medium, show that the attenuation of the quasi P-wave and the quasi SV-wave strongly depend on the permeability anisotropy, and the attenuation behavior at low and high frequencies is contrary. Meanwhile, the attenuation and dispersion of the quasi P-wave are also affected seriously by the anisotropic solid/fluid coupling additional density. | YANG Dinghui & ZHANG Zhongjie Department of Mathematical Sciences, Tsinghua University, Beijing 100084, China Institute of Geophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing 100101, China | 2000 | Chinese Science Bulletin2000,45,23: | 33
Ventricular repolarization markers for predicting malignant arrhythmias in clinical practice显示文摘Malignant cardiac arrhythmias which result in sudden cardiac death may be present in individuals apparently healthy or be associated with other medical conditions. The way to predict their appearance represents a challenge for the medical community due to the tragic outcomes in most cases. In the last two decades some ventricular repolarization(VR) markers have been found to be useful to predict malignant cardiac arrhythmias in several clinical conditions. The corrected QT, QT dispersion, Tpeak-Tend, Tpeak-Tend dispersion and Tp-e/QT have been studied and implemented in clinical practice for this purpose. These markers are obtained from 12 lead surface electrocardiogram. In this review we discuss how these markers have demonstrated to be effective to predict malignant arrhythmias in medical conditions such as long and short QT syndromes, Brugada syndrome, early repolarization syndrome, acute myocardial ischemia, heart failure, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, obesity and highly trained athletes. Also the main pathophysiological mechanisms that explain the arrhythmogenic predisposition in these diseases and the basis for the VR markers are discussed. However, the same results have not been found in all conditions. Further studies are needed to reach a global consensus in order to incorporate these VR parameters in risk stratification of these patients. | Yaniel Castro-Torres Raimundo Carmona-Puerta Richard E Katholi | 2015 | World Journal of Clinical Cases2015,3,8: | 16
Spectral tomographic imaging with aplanatic metalens显示文摘Tomography is an informative imaging modality that is usually implemented by mechanical scanning, owing to the limited depth-of-field(DOF)in conventional systems. However, recent imaging systems are working towards more compact and stable architectures;therefore, developing nonmotion tomography is highly desirable. Here,we propose a metalens-based spectral imaging system with an aplanatic GaN metalens(NA=0.78),in which large chromatic dispersion is used to access spectral focus tuning and optical zooming in the visible spectrum. After the function of wavelength-switched tomography was confirmed on cascaded samples, this aplanatic metalens is utilized to image microscopic frog egg cells and shows excellent tomographic images with distinct DOF features of the cell membrane and nucleus. Our approach makes good use of the large diffractive dispersion of the metalens and develops a new imaging technique that advances recent informative optical devices. | Chen Chen Wange Song Jia-Wern Chen Jung-Hsi Wang Yu Han Chen Beibei Xu Mu-Ku Chen Hanmeng Li Bin Fang Ji Chen Hsin Yu Kuo Shuming Wang Din Ping Tsai Shining Zhu Tao Li | 2019 | Light(Science & Applications)2019,8,1: | 12
Rationalizing phonon dispersion for lattice thermal conductivity of solids显示文摘Lattice thermal conductivity(κL) is one of the most fundamental properties of solids. The acoustic–elastic-wave assumption, proposed by Debye(Debye P. Ann Phys 1912; 344: 789–839), has led to linear phonon dispersion being the most common approximation for understanding phonon transport over the past century. Such an assumption does not take into account the effect of a periodic boundary condition on the phonon dispersion, originating from the nature of periodicity on atomic arrangements. Driven by modern demands on the thermal functionality of materials, with κLranging from ultra-low to ultra-high,any deviation from the Debye approximation in real materials becomes more and more significant. This work takes into account the periodic boundary condition, and therefore rationalizes the phonon dispersion to be more realistic. This significantly improves the precision for quickly predicting κLwithout any fitting parameters, as demonstrated in hundreds of materials, and offers a theoretical basis rationalizing κLto be lower than the minimum currently accepted based on the Debye dispersion. This work paves the way for designing solids with expected κLand particularly inspires the advancement of low-κLmaterials for thermal energy applications. | Zhiwei Chen Xinyue Zhang Siqi Lin Lidong Chen Yanzhong Pei | 2018 | National Science Review2018,5,6: | 12
Controlling angular dispersions in optical metasurfaces显示文摘Although metasurfaces have shown great potential for manipulating light, most previously realized meta-devices suffer from uncontrolled angular dispersions, making them unfavorable for many applications. Here,we propose a general strategy to realize optical metasurfaces with desired angular dispersions based on carefully controlling both the near-field couplings between meta-atoms and the radiation pattern of a single meta-atom.Utilizing such a strategy,we experimentally demonstrate a series of optical meta-devices with predesigned angular dispersions, including two incident-angle-insensitive absorbers, one incident-angle-selective absorber, and one multifunctional meta-polarizer whose functionality changes from a perfect mirror to a half-waveplate as the excitation angle varies. Finally,we design a gradient meta-device using meta-atom arrays with purposely controlled angular dispersions and numerically demonstrate that it can exhibit distinct wavefront-control functionalities when illuminated at different incident angles. Our findings establish a new platform for achieving angle-multiplexed functional meta-devices,significantly expanding the wave-manipulation capabilities of optical metasurfaces. | Xiyue Zhang Qi Li Feifei Liu Meng Qiu Shulin Sun Qiong He Lei Zhou | 2020 | Light(Science & Applications)2020,9,1: | 11

Prolonged QT dispersion in inflammatory bowel disease显示文摘AIM:To investigate the frequency and factors of prolonged QT dispersion that may lead to severe ventricular arrhythmias in patients with inflammatory bowel disease(IBD).METHODS:This study included 63 ulcerative colitis(UC) and 41 Crohn's disease(CD) patients.Forty-seven healthy patients were included as the control group.Heart rate was calculated using electrocardiography, corrected QT dispersion(QTcd) and the Bazett's formula.Homeostasis model assessment(HOMA) was used to determine insulin resistance(IR).HOMA values < 1 were considered normal and values > 2.5 indicated a high probability of IR.RESULTS:Prolonged QTcd was found in 12.2% of UC patients, and in 14.5% of CD patients compared with the control group(P < 0.05).A significant difference was found between the insulin values(CD:10.95 ± 6.10 vs 6.44 ± 3.28,P < 0.05;UC:10.88 ± 7.19 vs 7.20 ± 4.54,P < 0.05) and HOMA(CD:2.56 ± 1.43 vs 1.42 ± 0.75,P < 0.05;UC:2.94 ± 1.88 vs 1.90 ± 1.09,P < 0.05) in UC and CD patients with and without prolonged QTcd.Disease behavior types were determined in CD patients with prolonged QTcd.Increased systolic arterial pressure(125 ± 13.81 vs 114.09 ± 8.73,P < 0.01) and age(48.67 ± 13.93 vs 39.57 ± 11.58,P < 0.05) in UC patients were significantly associated with prolonged QTcd.CONCLUSION:Our data show that IBD patients have prolonged QTcd in relation to controls. The routine followup of IBD patients should include determination of HOMA,insulin values and electrocardiogram examination. | Elif Yorulmaz Aslihan Sezgin Gupse Adali Hatice Yorulmaz Hilmi Ciftci | 2013 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2013,19,1: | 8
Off-axis multi-wavelength dispersion controllingmetalens for multi-color imaging显示文摘Dispersion control is crucial in optical systems, and chromatic aberration is an important factor affecting imaging quality in imaging systems.Due to the inherent property of materials, dispersion engineering is complex and needs to trade off other aberration in traditional ways.Although metasurface offers an effective method to overcome these limits and results in well-engineered dispersion,off-axis dispersion control is still a challenging topic. In this paper,we design a single-layer metalens which is capable of focusing at three wavelengths(473 nm,532 nm,and 632 nm)with different incident angles(0°,-17°and 17°)into the same point. We also demonstrate that this metalens can provide an alternative for the bulky color synthetic prism in a 3-chips digital micromirror device(DMD)laser projection system.Through this approach, various off-axis dispersion controlling optical devices could be realized. | Kaihua Dou Xin Xie Mingbo Pu Xiong Li Xiaoliang Ma Changtao Wang Xiangang Luo | 2020 | Opto-Electronic Advances2020,3,4: | 7
Design and analysis of high birefringence and nonlinearity with small confinement loss photonic crystal fiber显示文摘High birefringence with low confinement loss photonic crystal fiber (PCF) has significant advantages in the field of sensing, dispersion compensation devices, nonlinear applications, and polarization filter. In this report, two different models of PCFs are presented and compared. Both the models contain five air holes rings with combination of circular and elliptical air holes arrangement. Moreover, the elliptical shaped air holes polarization and the third ring air holes rotational angle are varied. To examine different guiding characteristics, finite element method (FEM) with perfectly matched layer (PML) absorbing boundary condition is applied from 1.2 to 1.8 |im wavelength range. High birefringence, low confinement loss, high nonlinearity, and moderate disper-sion values are successfully achieved in both the PCFs models. Numeric analysis shows that model-1 gives higher birefringence (2.75 ×10^-2) and negative dispersion (-540.67 ps/(nm ·km)) at 1.55 |im wavelength. However, model-2 gives more small confinement loss than model-1 at the same wavelength. In addition, the proposed design demonstrates the variation of rotation angle has great impact to enhance guiding properties especially the birefringence. | Rekha SAHA Md.Mahbub HOSSAIN Md. | 11 | Preparation and Characterization of Polymeric Microspheres Having Isotactic Poly(methacrylic acid) on Their Surfaces显示文摘A poly( tert -butyl methacrylate)(PBMA) macromonomer was synthesized by anionic polymerization with bis(2,6-di- t -butyl phenoxy) methyl aluminum [MeAl(ODBP)2] as the initiator and trimethylsilylmethacrylate(TMSMA) as the end capping agent in dry THF. Then, a poly(methacrylic acid)(PMAA) macromonomer was obtained by means of hydrolysis reaction from the PBMA macromonomer in the presence of hydrochloric acid. The structures of the PBMA macromonomer were characterized by using 1H NMR. It was found that the resulted PBMA macromonomer has highly isotactic properties and the PMAA macromonomer has an end vinyl group on per polymer chain. The monodisperse polymeric microspheres, which consisted of polystyrene cores and PMAA branches on their surfaces, were prepared by the dispersion copolymerization of styrene with the PMAA macromonomer in an ethanol/water mixed solvent. It was found that the concentration of the PMAA macromonomer would affect the microsphere formation, the morphology and its size in the copolymerization system. | CHEN Ming-qing 1** , LIU Xiao-ya 1, YANG Cheng 1 and AKASHI Mitsuru 21. | 12 | Interfacial microstructure evolution and bonding mechanisms of 14YWT alloys produced by hot compression bonding显示文摘Hot compression bonding was first used to join oxide-dispersion-strengthened ferrite steels(14 YWT)under temperatures of 750–1100℃ with a true strain range of 0.11–0.51. Subsequently, the microstructure evolution and mechanical properties of the joints were characterized, revealing that the 14 YWT steels could be successfully bonded at a temperature of at least 950℃ with a true strain of 0.22, without degrading the fine grain and nanoparticle distribution, and the presence of inclusions or micro-voids along the bonding interface. Moreover, the joints had nearly the same tensile properties at room temperature and exhibited a similar fracture morphology with sufficient dimples compared to that of the base material. An electron backscattered diffraction technique and transmission electron microscopy were systematically employed to study the evolution of hot deformed microstructures. The results showed that continuous dynamic recrystallization characterized by progressive subgrain rotation occurred in this alloy, but discontinuous dynamic recrystallization characterized by strain-induced grain boundary bulging and subsequent bridging sub-boundary rotation was the dominant nucleation mechanism. The nuclei will grow with ongoing deformation, which will contribute to the healing of the original bonding interface. | Liying Zhou Shaobo Feng Mingyue Sun Bin Xu Dianzhong Li | 2019 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2019,35,8: | 6
Dispersion stability of thermal nanofluids显示文摘Thermal nanofluids, the engineered fluids with dispersed functional nanoparticles, have exhibited extraordinary thermophysical properties and added functionalities, and thus have enabled a broad range of important applications. The poor dispersion stability of thermal nanofluids, however, has been considered as a longexisting issue that limits their further development and practical application. This review overviews the recent efforts and progresses in improving the dispersion stability of thermal nanofluids such as mechanistic understanding of dispersion behavior of nanofluids, examples of both water-based and oil-based nanofluids, strategies to stabilize nanofluids, and characterization techniques for dispersion behavior of nanofluids. Finally,on-going research needs, and possible solutions to research challenges and future research directions in exploring stably dispersed thermal nanofluids are discussed. | Fan Yu Yingying Chen Xingbo Liang Jiale Xu Chiahsun Lee Qi Liang Peng Tao Tao Deng | 2017 | Progress in Natural Science:Materials International2017,27,5: | 5
In - Depth Colloidal Dispersion Gels Improve Oil Recovery Efficiency显示文摘Daqing Oilfield has carried out the production of polymer flooding was promoted since in 1996. Presently, polymer flooding is very successful in several production plants of Daqing Oilfield, and getting into industrialization production. It has played a very important role in maintaining the oilfield stable production of over 50 million tons of oil. But the high permeability variation is serious, resulting in polymer production in some production wells recylingly and production concentration increasing slowly, which adversely affects polymer flooding efficiency. Chlloid dispersion gels (CDG) is a unique in - depth permeability modification process. It can reduce in - depth reservoir permeability variation by moving into highly permeable, water saturated zones and providing high resistance to subsequent water injection in those zones, so that oil can be produced from tighter rock. So CDG can enlarge volumetric sweep, and improve oil recovery efficiency. We had a CDG pilot programme in Daqing Oil Field in 1999, now this pilot has been entering into effective period with produing more oil and less water. | Luo Jiangtao Yang Haibo Wu Tianhu Xiao Long | 2000 | Global Geology2000,5,2: | 5

Design and analysis of extended depth of focus metalenses for achromatic computational imaging显示文摘Metasurface optics have demonstrated vast potential for implementing traditional optical components in an ultracompact and lightweight form factor.Metasurfaces, however, suffer from severe chromatic aberrations, posing serious limitations on their practical use.Eixisting approaches for circumventing this involving dispersion engineering are limited to small apertures and often entail multiple scatterers per unit cell with small feature sizes. Here,we prescnt an alternative technique to mitigatc chromatic aberration and demonstrate high-quality,full-color imaging using extended depth of focus(EDOF)metalenses and computational reconstruction.Previous EDOF metalenses have relied on cubic phase masks, where the image quality suffers from asymmetric artefacts. Here we demonstrate the use of rotationally symmetric masks, including logarithmic-aspherical,and shifted axicon masks,to mitigate this problem. Our work will inspire further development in achromatic metalenses beyond dispersion engineering and hybrid optical-digital metasurface systems. | LUOCHENG HUANA JAMES WHITEHEAD SHANE COLBURN ARKA MAJUMDAR | 2020 | Photonics Research2020,8,10: | 5
Correlation of Raw Materials and Waterborne Polyurethane Properties by Sequence Similarity Analysis显示文摘Anionomer-type waterborne polyurethane dispersions(PUDs) were obtained from poly(propylene glycol)(PPG), isophorone diisocyanate(IPDI) and dimethylolpropionic acid(DMPA) through a modi?ed prepolymer isocyanate process. Two series of polyurethanes were prepared(Groups A and B) and a new prediction model based on grey relational analysis is introduced to predict the impact order of raw materials on several properties, such as solids content, viscosity, acid number and electrolytic stability of polyurethanes. It is found that the model can successfully predict the impact of raw materials on the properties through the designed demonstration experiments. Furthermore, the results of the prediction model show that DMPA plays a key role in viscosity, partial acid values and electrolytic stability. | Xing Zhou Changqing Fang Jing Chen Shujuan Li Yan Li Wanqing Lei | 2016 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2016,32,7: | 5
A Versatile Method for Uniform Dispersion of Nanocarbons in Metal Matrix Based on Electrostatic Interactions显示文摘Realizing the uniform dispersion of nanocarbons such as carbon nanotube and graphene in metals, is an essential prerequisite to fully exhibit their enhancement effect in mechanical, thermal, and electrical properties of metal matrix composites(MMCs). In this work, we propose an effective method to achieve uniform distribution of nanocarbons in various metal flakes through a slurry-based method. It relies on the electrostatic interactions between the negatively charged nanocarbons and the positively charged metal flakes when mixed in slurry. For case study, flake metal powders(Al, Mg, Ti,Fe, and Cu) were positively charged in aqueous suspension by spontaneous ionization or cationic surface modification. While nanocarbons, given examples as carboxylic multi-walled carbon nanotubes, pristine single-walled carbon nanotube, and carbon nanotube–graphene oxide hybrid were negatively charged by the ionization of oxygen-containing functional groups or anionic surfactant. It was found that through the electrostatic interaction mechanism, all kinds of nanocarbons can be spontaneously and efficiently adsorbed onto the surface of various metal flakes. The development of such a versatile method would provide us great opportunities to fabricate advanced MMCs with appealing properties. | Zan Li Genlian Fan Zhanqiu Tan Zhiqiang Li Qiang Guo Dingbang Xiong Di Zhang | 2016 | Nano-Micro Letters2016,8,1: | 5
