3Research on solar aided coal-fired power generation system and performance analysis显示文摘Integrating solar power utilization systems with coal-fired power units, the solar aided coal-fired power generation (SACPG) shows a significant prospect for the large-scale utilization of solar energy and energy saving of thermal power units. The methods and mechanism of system integration were studied. The parabolic trough solar collectors were used to collect solar energy and the integration scheme of SACPG system was determined considering the matching of working fluid flows and energy flows. The thermodynamic characteristics of solar thermal power generation and their effects on the performance of thermal power units were studied, and based on this the integration and optimization model of system structure and parameters were built up. The integration rules and coupling mecha- nism of SACPG systems were summarized in accordance with simulation results. 4Integration mechanisms of transgenes and population fitness of GH transgenic fish显示文摘It has been more than 20 years since the first batch of transgenic fish was produced. Five stable germ-line transmitted growth hormone (GH) transgenic fish lines have been generated. This paper reviews the mechanisms of integration and gene targeting of the transgene, as well as the viability, reproduction and transgenic approaches for the reproductive containment of GH-transgenic fish. 5Passive technologies for future large-scale photonic integrated circuits on silicon: polarization handling, light non-reciprocity and loss reduction显示文摘Silicon-based large-scale photonic integrated circuits are becoming important,due to the need for higher complexity and lower cost for optical transmitters,receivers and optical buffers.In this paper,passive technologies for large-scale photonic integrated circuits are described,including polarization handling,light non-reciprocity and loss reduction.The design rule for polarization beam splitters based on asymmetrical directional couplers is summarized and several novel designs for ultra-short polarization beam splitters are reviewed.A novel concept for realizing a polarization splitter–rotator is presented with a very simple fabrication process.Realization of silicon-based light non-reciprocity devices(e.g.,optical isolator),which is very important for transmitters to avoid sensitivity to reflections,is also demonstrated with the help of magneto-optical material by the bonding technology.Low-loss waveguides are another important technology for large-scale photonic integrated circuits.Ultra-low loss optical waveguides are achieved by designing a Si3N4 core with a very high aspect ratio.The loss is reduced further to,0.1 dB m21 with an improved fabrication process incorporating a high-quality thermal oxide upper cladding by means of wafer bonding.With the developed ultra-low loss Si3N4 optical waveguides,some devices are also demonstrated,including ultra-high-Q ring resonators,low-loss arrayed-waveguide grating(de)multiplexers,and high-extinction-ratio polarizers.Daoxin Dai Jared Bauters John E Bowers 2012Light(Science & Applications)2012,1,1:28
6Role of hepatitis B virus DNA integration in human hepatocarcinogenesis显示文摘Liver cancer ranks sixth in cancer incidence,and is the third leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide.Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is the most common type of liver cancer,which arises from hepatocytes and accounts for approximately 70%-85%of cases.Hepatitis B virus(HBV)frequently causes liver inflammation,hepatic damage and subsequent cirrhosis.Integrated viral DNA is found in 85%-90%of HBV-related HCCs.Its presence in tumors from non-cirrhotic livers of children or young adults further supports the role of viral DNA integration in hepatocarcinogenesis.Integration of subgenomic HBV DNA fragments into different locations within the host DNA is a significant feature of chronic HBV infection.Integration has two potential consequences:(1)the host genome becomes altered('cis'effect);and(2)the HBV genome becomes altered('trans'effect).The cis effect includes insertional mutagenesis,which can potentially disrupt host gene function or alter host gene regulation.Tumor progression is frequently associated with rearrangement and partial gain or loss of both viral and host sequences.However,the role of integrated HBV DNA in hepatocarcinogenesis remains controversial.Modern technology has provided a new paradigm to further our understanding ofdisease mechanisms.This review summarizes the role of HBV DNA integration in human carcinogenesis.Hoang Hai Akihiro Tamori Norifumi Kawada 2014World Journal of Gastroenterology2014,20,20:22
7Progress in neural plasticity显示文摘One of the properties of the nervous system is the use-dependent plasticity of neural circuits.The structure and function of neural circuits are susceptible to changes induced by prior neuronal activity,as reflected by short-and long-term modifications of synaptic efficacy and neuronal excitability.Regarded as the most attractive cellular mechanism underlying higher cognitive functions such as learning and memory,activity-dependent synaptic plasticity has been in the spotlight of modern neuroscience since 1973 when activity-induced long-term potentiation(LTP) of hippocampal synapses was first discovered.Over the last 10 years,Chinese neuroscientists have made notable contributions to the study of the cellular and molecular mechanisms of synaptic plasticity,as well as of the plasticity beyond synapses,including activity-dependent changes in intrinsic neuronal excitability,dendritic integration functions,neuron-glia signaling,and neural network activity.This work highlight some of these significant findings.POO Mu-Ming 2010Science China(Life Sciences)2010,53,3:21
8Heat and power load dispatching considering energy storage of district heating system and electric boilers显示文摘As one of promising clean and low-emission energy, wind power is being rapidly developed in China.However, it faces serious problem of wind curtailment,particularly in northeast China, where combined heat and power(CHP) units cover a large proportion of the district heat supply. Due to the inherent strong coupling between the power and the heat load, the operational flexibility of CHP units is severely restricted in winter to meet the heat supply demand, which imparts considerable stress on the wind power connection to the grid. To promote the integration of wind power and enhance the flexibility of CHP units, this paper presented a method of heat and power load dispatching by exploring the energy storage ability of electric heating boilers and district heating systems. The optimization results indicate that the proposed method can integrate additional wind power into the grid and reduce the coal consumption of CHP units over the optimized period. 10Integration of lipidomics and metabolomics for in-depth understanding of cellular mechanism and disease progression显示文摘Mass spectrometry(MS)-based omics technologies are now widely used to profile small molecules in multiple matrices to confer comprehensive snapshots of cellular metabolic phenotypes.The metabolomes of cells,tissues,and organisms comprise a variety of molecules including lipids,amino acids,sugars,organic acids,and so on.Metabolomics mainly focus on the hydrophilic classes,while lipidomics has emerged as an independent omics owing to the complexities of the organismal lipidomes.The potential roles of lipids and small metabolites in disease pathogenesis have been widely investigated in various human diseases,but system-level understanding is largely lacking,which could be partly attributed to the insufficiency in terms of metabolite coverage and quantitation accuracy in current analytical technologies.While scientists are continuously striving to develop high-coverage omics approaches,integration of metabolomics and lipidomics is becoming an emerging approach to mechanistic investigation.Integration of metabolome and lipidome offers a complete atlas of the metabolic landscape,enabling comprehensive network analysis to identify critical metabolic drivers in disease pathology,facilitating the study of interconnection between lipids and other metabolites in disease progression.In this review,we summarize omics-based findings on the roles of lipids and metabolites in the pathogenesis of selected major diseases threatening public health.We also discuss the advantages of integrating lipidomics and metabolomics for in-depth understanding of molecular mechanism in disease pathogenesis.Raoxu Wang Bowen Li Sin Man Lam Guanghou Shui 2020Journal of Genetics and Genomics2020,47,2:15
11A hybrid invisibility cloak based on integration of transparent metasurfaces and zero-index materials显示文摘The invisibility cloak,a long-standing fantastic dream for humans,has become more tangible with the development of metamaterials.Recently,metasurface-based invisibility cloaks have been proposed and realized with significantly reduced thickness and complexity of the cloaking shell.However,the previous scheme is based on reflection-type metasurfaces and is thus limited to reflection geometry.In this work,by integrating the wavefront tailoring functionality of transparent metasurfaces and the wave tunneling functionality of zero-index materials,we have realized a unique type of hybrid invisibility cloak that functions in transmission geometry.The principle is general and applicable to arbitrary shapes.For experimental demonstration,we constructed a rhombic double-layer cloaking shell composed of a highly transparent metasurface and a double-zero medium consisting of dielectric photonic crystals with Dirac cone dispersions.The cloaking effect is verified by both full-wave simulations and microwave experimental results.The principle also reveals exciting possibilities for realizing skin-thick ultrathin cloaking shells in transmission geometry,which can eliminate the need for spatially varying extreme parameters.Our work paves a path for novel optical and electromagnetic devices based on the integration of metasurfaces and metamaterials.Hongchen Chu Qi Li Bingbing Liu Jie Luo Shulin Sun Zhi Hong Hang Lei Zhou Yun Lai 2018Light(Science & Applications)2018,7,1:13
12Control scheme of hexagonal modular multilevel direct converter for offshore wind power integration via fractional frequency transmission system显示文摘A fractional frequency transmission system(FFTS)is a promising solution to offshore wind power integration,for which the hexagonal modular multilevel converter(Hexverter)is an attractive choice for power conversion.The Hexverter has recently been proposed to directly connect two three-phase systems of different frequencies and voltage amplitudes,with only six branches in the FFTS in that case.This paper examines for the first time the control scheme of the Hexverter when applied to offshore wind power integration via a FFTS.Firstly,the frequency-decoupled mathematical model of the Hexverter is deduced by introducing the double dq transformation.Then the branch energy of the Hexverter is analyzed in detail and the reactive power constraint equation is obtained.The corresponding control scheme is thoroughly discussed,including the inner loop current control,the outer loop voltage control in both grid-connected mode and passive mode,and a novel optimization method to minimize the circulating current in the Hexverter.Finally,a simulation model of offshore wind power integration via a 4-terminal FFTS based on the Hexverter is built in MATALB/Simulink to verify the feasibility of Hexverter and the effectiveness of the control scheme proposed in this paper.Yongqing MENG Bo LIU Huiyong LUO Shuonan SHANG Haitao ZHANG Xifan WANG 2018Journal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy2018,6,1:12

14CAD and CAE Integration Through Scientific Visualization Techniques for Illumination Design显示文摘Engineers tend to use different software to perform tasks such as geometry modeling, database management, numerical analysis, and visualization. This may cause decrease of productivity and loss of information during the conversion process between different data file formats. This paper presents a computer aided design (CAD) and computer aided engineering (CAE) system integration using scientific visualization tools and techniques. It deals with the development of a 3D CAD add-in for lighting analysis which uses the CAD model as 3D interface for creating a lighting scheme, processing, and visualizing 2D or 3D illuminance fields. Visualization features as color and contour mapping were developed using the visualization toolkit (VTK) toolkit. The application integrates all functionalities of the 3D CAD with tools for light sources database management, pre-processing, processing, and post-processing of illuminance fields in a single environment. 16Hepatitis B virus pathogenesis: Fresh insights into hepatitis B virus RNA显示文摘Hepatitis B virus(HBV) is still a worldwide health concern. While divergent factors are involved in its pathogenesis, it is now clear that HBV RNAs, principally templates for viral proteins and viral DNAs, have diverse biological functions involved in HBV pathogenesis. These functions include viral replication, hepatic fibrosis and hepatocarcinogenesis. Depending on the sequence similarities, HBV RNAs may act as sponges for host mi RNAs and may deregulate mi RNA functions, possibly leading to pathological consequences. Some parts of the HBV RNA molecule may function as viralderived mi RNA, which regulates viral replication. HBV DNA can integrate into the host genomic DNA and produce novel viral-host fusion RNA, which may have pathological functions. To date, elimination of HBVderived covalently closed circular DNA has not been achieved. However, RNA transcription silencing may be an alternative practical approach to treat HBVinduced pathogenesis. 19Laser-driven programmable non-contact transfer printing of objects onto arbitrary receivers via an active elastomeric microstructured stamp显示文摘Transfer printing, as an important assembly technique, has attracted much attention due to its valuable merits to develop novel forms of electronics such as stretchable inorganic electronics requiring the heterogeneous integration of inorganic materials with soft elastomers. Here, we report on a laser-driven programmable non-contact transfer printing technique via a simple yet robust design of active elastomeric microstructured stamp that features cavities filled with air and embedded under the contacting surface, a micro-patterned surface membrane that encapsulates the air cavities and a metal layer on the inner-cavity surfaces serving as the laser-absorbing layer. The micro-patterned surface membrane can be inflated dynamically to control the interfacial adhesion, which can be switched from strong state to weak state by more than three orders of magnitude by local laser heating of the air in the cavity with a temperature increase below 100℃. Theoretical and experimental studies reveal the fundamental aspects of the design and fabrication of the active elastomeric microstructured stamp and the operation of non-contact transfer printing.
