However, resource constrained devices cannot fulfill the resource-requirements of these applications. This paper investigates the computation offloading problem of the coexistence and synergy between fog computing and cloud computing in IoE by jointly optimizing the offloading decisions, the allocation of computation resource and transmit power. Specifically, we propose an energy-efficient computation offloading and resource allocation(ECORA) scheme to minimize the system cost. | 6 | Stream-computing of High Accuracy On-board Real-time Cloud Detection for High Resolution Optical Satellite Imagery显示文摘This paper focuses on the time efficiency for machine vision and intelligent photogrammetry, especially high accuracy on-board real-time cloud detection method. With the development of technology, the data acquisition ability is growing continuously and the volume of raw data is increasing explosively. Meanwhile, because of the higher requirement of data accuracy, the computation load is also becoming heavier. This situation makes time efficiency extremely important. Moreover, the cloud cover rate of optical satellite imagery is up to approximately 50%, which is seriously restricting the applications of on-board intelligent photogrammetry services. To meet the on-board cloud detection requirements and offer valid input data to subsequent processing, this paper presents a stream-computing of high accuracy on-board real-time cloud detection solution which follows the “bottom-up” understanding strategy of machine vision and uses multiple embedded GPU with significant potential to be applied on-board. Without external memory, the data parallel pipeline system based on multiple processing modules of this solution could afford the “stream-in, processing, stream-out” real-time stream computing. | 7 | Three Tier Fog Networks: Enabling IoT/5G for Latency Sensitive Applications显示文摘Following the progression in Internet of Things(IoT) and 5G communication networks, the traditional cloud computing model have shifted to fog computing. Fog computing provides mobile computing, network control and storage to the network edges to assist latency critical and computation-intensive applications. Moreover, security features are improved in fog paradigm by processing critical data on edge devices instead of data centres outside the control plane of users. However, fog network deployment imposes many challenges including resource allocation, privacy of users, non-availability of programming model and testing software and support for the heterogenous networks. This article highlights these challenges and their potential solutions in detail. This article also discusses threetier fog network architecture, its standardization and benefits in detail. In order to address this problem, we propose a privacy-based SLA violation detection model for cloud computing based on Markov decision process theory. | 15 | Public cloud computing for seismological research:Calculating large-scale noise cross-correlations using ALIYUN显示文摘The amount of seismological data is rapidly increasing with accumulating observational time and increasing number of stations, requiring modern technique to provide adequate computing power. In present study, we proposed a framework to calculate large-scale noise crosscorrelation functions(NCFs) using public cloud service from ALIYUN. The entire computation is factorized into small pieces which are performed parallelly on specified number of virtual servers provided by the cloud. Using data from most seismic stations in China, five NCF databases are built. The results show that, comparing to the time cost using a single server, the entire time can be reduced over two orders of magnitude depending number of evoked virtual servers. This could reduce computation time from months to less than 12 hours. Based on obtained massive NCFs, the global body waves are retrieved through array interferometry and agree well with those from earthquakes. | 16 | Scheme on Cross-Domain Identity Authentication Based on Group Signature for Cloud Computing显示文摘In the cloud computing, different cloud service providers are often in different trust domains. As the traditional identity authentication mode cannot be applied to the cloud computing, the cross-domain identity authentication mechanism is needed to solve the identity authentication problem in the cloud computing. In view of the security problems in cloud computing, a cross-domain identity authentication scheme based on group signature is proposed. This scheme introduces a group of cloud service providers and users who are located in different trust domains. Any member of the group can generate the signature on behalf of the whole group, making the user access the cloud service provider in the case of privacy security. At the same time, with traceability it can track illegal operation of illegal users. In addition, the scheme uses the Chinese Remainder Theorem to integrate the message, and it can control the length of the data in the calculation process, simplifying the calculation process. It also realizes the join and revocation of group members without changing the key of other legitimate group members, and the maintenance cost of authentication schemes is low. The results show that the scheme has the advantages of anonymity, anti-counterfeit, traceability, anti-joint attack and so on. | 18 | Recent Near-surface Temperature Trends in the Antarctic Peninsula from Observed,Reanalysis and Regional Climate Model Data显示文摘This study investigates the recent near-surface temperature trends over the Antarctic Peninsula.We make use of available surface observations,ECMWF’s ERA5 and its predecessor ERA-Interim,as well as numerical simulations,allowing us to contrast different data sources.We use hindcast simulations performed with Polar-WRF over the Antarctic Peninsula on a nested domain configuration at 45 km(PWRF-45)and 15 km(PWRF-15)spatial resolutions for the period 1991?2015.In addition,we include hindcast simulations of KNMI-RACMO21P obtained from the CORDEX-Antarctica domain(~50 km)for further comparisons.Results show that there is a marked windward warming trend except during summer.This windward warming trend is particularly notable in the autumn season and likely to be associated with the recent deepening of the Amundsen/Bellingshausen Sea low and warm advection towards the Antarctic Peninsula.On the other hand,an overall summer cooling is characterized by the strengthening of the Weddell Sea low as well as an anticyclonic trend over the Amundsen Sea accompanied by northward winds.The persistent cooling trend observed at the Larsen Ice Shelf station is not captured by ERA-Interim,whereas hindcast simulations indicate that there is a clear pattern of windward warming and leeward cooling.Furthermore,larger temporal correlations and lower differences exhibited by PWRF-15 illustrate the existence of the added value in the higher spatial resolution simulation. | Deniz BOZKURT David HBROMWICH Jorge CARRASCO Keith MHINES Juan Carlos MAUREIRA and Roberto RONDANELLI | 2020 | Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2020,37,5: | 3 |

| 20 | Energy-efficient virtual machine consolidation algorithm in cloud data centers显示文摘Cloud data centers consume a multitude of power leading to the problem of high energy consumption. In order to solve this problem, an energy-efficient virtual machine(VM) consolidation algorithm named PVDE(prediction-based VM deployment algorithm for energy efficiency) is presented. The proposed algorithm uses linear weighted method to predict the load of a host and classifies the hosts in the data center, based on the predicted host load, into four classes for the purpose of VMs migration. We also propose four types of VM selection algorithms for the purpose of determining potential VMs to be migrated. We performed extensive performance analysis of the proposed algorithms.
