BENDING OF FUNCTIONALLY GRADED PIEZOELECTRIC RECTANGULAR PLATES显示文摘By introducing two displacement functions as well as two stress functions, two independentstate equations with variable coefficients are derived from the three-dimensional theory equations of piezo-elasticity for transverse isotropy.A laminated approximation is used to transform the state equations to thosewith constant coefficients in each sub-layer.The bending problem of a functionally graded rectangular plate isthen analyzed based on the state equations.Numerical results are presented and the effect of material gradi-ent index is discussed.Chen Weiqiu Ding Haojiang 2000Acta Mechanica Solida Sinica2000,13,4:37
Cavity length below chute aerators显示文摘It is proved that air entrainment is one of the efficient measures dealing with cavi-tation control for the release works of hydropower projects. There are many factors to be considered in designing a chute aerator. One of the most important factors concerns the cavity length below the aerator, which has outstanding effects on air entrainment against cavitation damage. It is crucial to determine reasonable emergence angle for the calculation of the cavity length. In the present paper the overall effects of structural and hydraulic parameters on the emergence angle of the flow from the aerator were analyzed. Four improved expressions of the emer-gence angle with weight coefficient were investigated through experimental data of 68 points observed from 12 aerators of 6 hydropower projects,of both model and prototype,on the basis of error theory. A method to calculate the cavity length be-low aerators was suggested, which considers overall effects of the above men-tioned parameters. Comparison between the method in this paper and the other five methods of calculating the cavity length showed that the present method is much more reliable than the existing methods while the mean error of the method is less than others.WU JianHua RUAN ShiPing 2008Science China(Technological Sciences)2008,51,2:14
Theory of random energy analysis for train derailment显示文摘Three fundamental problems in the calculation of train derailment abroad and at home were pointed out and the solutions to these problems were presented. The theory of random energy analysis for train derailment was suggested. The main contents of this theory are as follows: geometric criterion of derailment; method of random energy analysis of transverse vibration of train track system; mechanism of derailment and energy increment criterion for derailment evaluation; calculation of the entire derailment course of train. This theory is used to calculate a case of freight train derailment, which corresponds to an actually occurring accident. Another derailment test, in which the train is judged not to be derailed, is calculated and the maximum vibration response is well correspond to the test results. And the effectiveness and practicability of the theory are proved by the two calculated cases.向俊 曾庆元 娄平 2003Journal of Central South University of Technology2003,10,2:12
On two transverse nonlinear models of axially moving beams显示文摘Nonlinear models of transverse vibration of axially moving beams are computationally investigated. A partial-differential equation is derived from the governing equation of coupled planar motion by omit- ting its longitudinal terms. The model can be reduced to an integro-partial-differential equation by av- eraging the beam disturbed tension. Numerical schemes are respectively presented for the governing equations of coupled planar and the two governing equations of transverse motion via the finite dif- ference method and differential quadrature method under the fixed boundary and the simple support boundary. A steel beam and a copper beam are treated as examples to demonstrate the deviations of the solutions to the two transverse equations from the solution to the coupled equation. The numerical results indicate that the differences increase with the amplitude of vibration and the axial speed. Both models yield almost the same precision results for small amplitude vibration and the inte- gro-partial-differential equation gives better results for large amplitude vibration.DING Hu1 & CHEN LiQun1,2 1 Shanghai Institute of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics, Shanghai University, Shanghai 200072, China 2 Department of Mechanics, Shanghai University, Shanghai 200444, China 2009Science China(Technological Sciences)2009,52,3:8
Forming the transverse inner rib of a curved generatrix part through power spinning显示文摘How to form high-quality transverse inner ribs through power spinning is a key issue for complicated integrated curved generatrix parts with transverse inner ribs. In this study, the forming characteristics and laws during the power spinning process were investigated using a finite element simulation based on the orthogonal design method. The results show that the transverse inner rib distributes homogeneously along the circumferential direction but inhomogeneously along the generatrix direction. Depressions occur easily in the middle zone of the rib (MZR). The roller nose radius is the most significant parameter of the MZR underfill degree. A larger roller nose radius is helpful to decrease the MZR underfill degree. Furthermore, the preformed billet thickness also plays a vital role in the underfill degree of the front zone of the rib and the back zone of the rib, as well as the depression degree of the outer surface of the rib. By combining the ribfilling characteristics and laws, the optimized forming process window for obtaining high-quality inner ribs was obtained by regression analysis, thus laying a basis for improving the forming quality of curved generatrix parts with transverse inner ribs in power spinning.Hong-Rui Zhang Mei Zhan Jing Guo Xian-Xian Wang Peng-Fei Gao Fei Ma 2019Advances in Manufacturing2019,7,1:7
Zeeman-Birefringence He-Ne Dual Frequency Lasers显示文摘We demonstrate an approach to obtain the frequency differences from 1 MHz to hundreds of MHz including 3-40 MHz, which was a blank range of the frequency difference in the traditional dual frequency lasers. We employ an intra-cavity stress-birefringence element in an He-Ne laser, and at the same time apply a transverse magnetic field to the laser. The intra-cavity stress birefringence element, which is the window plate or the mirror substrate applied by a force, is used to split a frequency into two;i.e. to make a single-frequency laser outputting two frequencies. Moreover, the transverse magnetic field is used to decrease greatly the mode competition between the two frequencies so that they are able to oscillate simultaneously. The minimum value of magnetic field for efficiently eliminating the mode competition to ensure the two frequencies working together is studied experimentally. The power tuning performance of the two frequencies (o-light and e-light) is investigated.金玉叶 张书练 李岩 郭继华 李加强 2001Chinese Physics Letters2001,18,4:6
Relaxation study of cement based grouting material using nuclear magnetic resonance显示文摘Aiming at actual condition of poor effect of hole sealing for the reason of poor cement paste fluidity in the process of coal mine gas drainage,by adding a water reducing agent, cement paste for hole sealing was produced. The changes of initial distribution, weighted average values and total relaxation signal intensity of transverse relaxation time(T 2) of water in pure cement paste and water reducing agent added cement paste were studied with low field proton nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR).The results show that there are four peaks in T2 distribution curves of cement paste:the first peak is related to the bound water in flocculation, the second and the third peaks are related to the water in flocculation, water reducing agent makes it extending towards the long relaxation time, increasing its liquidity, and the fourth peak is related to the free water.By using weighted average values of T2 and total relaxation signal intensity, hydration process of cement pastes could be roughly divided into four stages:the initial period, reaction period, accelerated period and steady period.By analyzing the periods,it makes sure that the grouting process should be completed in the reaction period in the site, and the drainage process should be started in the steady period. The results have great guiding significance to the hole sealing and methane drainage.Li Xianzhong Lin Baiquan Zhai Cheng Ni Guanhua Li Ziwen 2012International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2012,22,6:6
Recent advances in microvascular autologous breast reconstruction after ablative tumor surgery显示文摘Breast cancer is a ubiquitous disease and one of the leading causes of death in women in western societies. With overall increasing survival rates, the number of patients who need post-mastectomy reconstruction is on the rise. Especially since its psychological benefits have been broadly recognized, breast reconstruction has become a key component of breast cancer treatment. Evolving from the early beginnings of breast reconstruction with synthetic implants in the 1960 s, microsurgical tissue transfer is on the way to become the gold standard for post oncology restoration of the breast. Particularly since the advent of perforator based free flap surgery, free tissue transfer has become as safe option for breast reconstruction with low morbidity. The lower abdominal skin and subcutaneous fat tissue typically offer enough volume to create an aesthetically satisfying breast mound. Nowadays, the most commonly used flap from this donor site is the deep inferior epigastric artery perforator flap. If the lower abdomen is not available as a donor site, the gluteal area and thigh provide a number of flaps suitable for breast recon-struction. If the required breast volume is small, and there is enough tissue available on the upper medial thigh, then a transverse upper gracilis flap may be a practicable method to reconstruct the breast. In case of a higher amount of required volume, a gluteal artery perforator flap is the best choice. However, what is crucial in addition to selecting the best flap option for the individual patient is the timing of the operation. In patients with confirmed post-mastectomy radiation therapy, it is advisable to perform microvascular breast reconstruction only in a delayed fashion.Michael S Pollhammer Dominik Duscher Manfred Schmidt Georg M Huemer 2016World Journal of Clinical Oncology2016,7,1:6
Enhancement of Light Absorption in Thin Film Silicon Solar Cells with Metallic Grating and One-Dimensional Photonic Crystals显示文摘We design an effective light trapping scheme through engineering metallic gratings and one-dimensional dielectric photonic crystals(PhCs)to increase the optical path length of light within the solar cells. This incorporation can result in broadband optical absorption enhancement not only for transverse magnetic polarized light but also for transverse-electric polarization.Even when no plasmonic mode can be excited, due to the high reflection of the PhCs,the absorption in the active region can still be enhanced.Rigorous coupled wave analysis results demonstrate that such a hybrid structure boosts the overall cell performance by increasing the light trapping capabilities and is especially effective at the silicon band edge. This kind of design can be used to increase the optical absorption over a wide spectral range and is relatively independent of the angle of incidence.郑改革 咸冯林 李相银 2011Chinese Physics Letters2011,28,5:5
Nanostructured fibers as a versatile photonic platform: radiative cooling and waveguiding through transverse Anderson localization显示文摘Broadband high reflectance in nature is often the result of randomly,three-dimensionally structured materials. This study explores unique optical properties associated with one-dimensional nanostructures discovered in silk cocoon fibers of the comet moth,Argema mittrei. The fibers are populated with a high density of air voids randomly distributed across the fiber cross-section but are invariant along the fiber. These filamentary air voids strongly scatter light in the solar spectrum.A single silk fiber measuring~50μm thick can reflect 66%of incoming solar radiation, and this, together with the fibers’high emissivity of 0.88 in the mid-infrared range, allows the cocoon to act as an efficient radiative-cooling device.Drawing inspiration from these natural radiative-cooling fibers, biomimetic nanostructured fibers based on both regenerated silk fibroin and polyvinylidene difluoride are fabricated through wet spinning.Optical characterization shows that these fibers exhibit exceptional optical properties for radiative-cooling applications:nanostructured regenerated silk fibers provide a solar reflectivity of 0.73 and a thermal emissivity of 0.90,and nanostructured polyvinylidene difluoride fibers provide a solar reflectivity of 0.93 and a thermal emissivity of 0.91.The filamentary air voids lead to highly directional scattering, giving the fibers a highly reflective sheen, but more interestingly, they enable guided optical modes to propagate along the fibers through transverse Anderson localization. This discovery opens up the possibility of using wild silkmoth fibers as a biocompatible and bioresorbable material for optical signal and image transport.Norman Nan Shi Cheng-Chia Tsai Michael J.Carter Jyotirmoy Mandal Adam C.Overvig Matthew Y.Sfeir Ming Lu Catherine L.Craig Gary D.Bernard Yuan Yang Nanfang Yu 2018Light(Science & Applications)2018,7,1:5
Demonstration of an on-chip TE-pass polarizer using a silicon hybrid plasmonic grating显示文摘An on-chip, high extinction ratio transverse electric(TE)-pass polarizer using a silicon hybrid plasmonic grating is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. Utilizing plasmonics to manipulate the effective index and mode distribution, the transverse magnetic mode is reflected and absorbed, while the TE mode passes through with relatively low propagation loss. For a 6-μm-long device, the measurement result shows that the extinction ratio in the wavelength range of 1.52 to 1.58 μm varies from 24 to 33.7 dB and the insertion loss is 2.8–4.9 dB. Moreover, the structure exhibits large alignment tolerance and is compatible with silicon-on-insulator fabrication technology.BOWEN BAI FENGHE YANG ZHIPING ZHOU 2019Photonics Research2019,7,3:4
Clinical characteristics of sentinel polyps and their correlation with proximal colon cancer: A retrospective observational study显示文摘BACKGROUND Colorectal cancer is a common malignant tumor of the digestive tract. The relationship between sentinel polyps(rectal polyps with proximal colon cancer)and proximal colon cancer has received extensive attention in recent years. However, there is still no clear conclusion regarding the relationship.AIM To investigate the clinical characteristics of sentinel polyps and their correlation with proximal colon cancer.METHODS A retrospective analysis of 2587 patients with rectal polyps from January 2006 to December 2017 was performed.According to whether or not proximal colon cancer was diagnosed, the patients were divided into either a sentinel polyp group(192 patients)or a pure rectal polyp group(2395 patients). The endoscopic features, clinicopathological features, therapeutic effects, and short-term prognosis were analyzed and compared between the two groups.RESULTS The mean age of patients in the sentinel polyp group was generally higher than that of the pure rectal polyp group, and the positivity rates of anemia, stool occult blood, and tumor markers of the sentinel polyp group were also significantly higher than those in the rectal polyp group(χ^2=90.56,P<0.01;χ^2=70.30,P<0.01;χ^2=92.80,P<0.01).The majority of the patients in the sentinel polyp group had multiple polyps, large polyps, adenomatous polyps,or sessile polyps(χ^2=195.96,P<0.01;χ^2=460.46,P<0.01;χ^2=94.69,P<0.01;χ^2=48.01,P<0.01).Most of the proximal colon cancers were Duke’s A and B stages in the sentinel polyp group. In the pure rectal polyp group,2203 patients underwent endoscopic treatment, and all of the patients were cured and discharged. In the sentinel polyp group,65 patients underwent radical operation, and 61 patients received endoscopic submucosal dissection or endoscopic mucosal resection.Additionally,21 patients were lost to follow-up after 6-12 mo,and the loss rate was 10.94%.A total of 63.16%of patients experienced remission without tumor recurrence or metastasis,33.33%of patients experienced tumors regression or improved symptoms, and the other 3.51%of the patients died.CONCLUSION If there are multiple, sessile, and adenomatous rectal polyps with a maximum diameter>1 cm,the possibility of the carcinogenesis of the polyps or of the proximal colon should be monitored closely. These patients should be followed in the short-term and should undergo a whole-colon examination.Man Wang Jia-Jie Lu Wen-Jie Kong Xiao-Jing Kang Feng Gao 2019World Journal of Clinical Cases2019,7,20:4
The double face of miR-320:cardiomyocytes-derived miR-320 deteriorated while fibroblasts-derived miR-320 protected against heart failure induced by transverse aortic constriction显示文摘MicroRNAs(miRNAs)are aberrantly expressed in the pathophysiologic process of heart failure(HF).However, the functions of a certain miRNA in different cardiac cell types during HF are scarcely reported, which might be covered by the globe effects of it on the heart. In the current study,Langendorff system was applied to isolate card io myocytes(CMs)and cardiac fibroblasts(CFs)from transverse aortic constriction(TAC)-induced mice.Slight increase of miR-320 expression was observed in the whole heart tissue of TAC mice.Interestingly,miR-320 was significantly elevated in CMs but decreased in CFs from TAC mice at different time points. Then, recombinant adeno-associated virus 9 with cell-type-specific promoters were used to manipulate miR-320 expressions in vivo. Both in vitro and in vivo experiments showed the miR-320 overexpression in CMs exacerbated cardiac dysfunction, whereas overexpression of miR-320 in CFs alleviated cardiac fibrosis and hypertrophy.Mechanically, downstream signaling pathway analyses revealed that miR-320 might induce various effects via targeting PLEKHM3 and IFITM1 in CMs and CFs,respectively.Moreover,miR-320 mediated effects could be abolished by PLEKHM3 re-expression in CMs or IFITM1 re-expression in CFs.Interestingly,miR-320 treated CFs were able to indirectly affect CMs function, but not vice versa.Meanwhile, upstream signaling pathway analyses showed that miR-320 expression and decay rate were rigorously manipulated by Ago2,which was regulated by a cluster of cell-type-specific TFs distinctively expressed in CMs and CFs,respectively.Together,we demonstrated that miR-320 functioned differently in various cell types of the heart during the progression of HF.Xudong Zhang Shuai Yuan Huaping Li Jiabing Zhan Feng Wang Jiahui Fan Xiang Nie Yan Wang Zheng Wen Yanghui Chen Chen Chen Dao Wen Wang 2021Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2021,6,3:4
Nonlinear vibration analysis of a circular composite plate harvester via harmonic balance显示文摘Alumped parameter transversevibration model of a composite plate harvester is analyzed via harmonic balance approaches. The harvester is mainly composed of a piezoelectriccircular composite clamped by two steel rings and a proof mass on the plate. The lumped parameter model is a 1.5 degree-of-freedom strongly nonlinear system with a higher order polynomial stiffness. Aharmonic balance approach is developed to analyze the system, and the resulting algebraic equations are numerically solved by adopting an arc-length continuation technique. Anincremental harmonic balance approach is also developedfor the lumped parameter model. The two approaches yieldthe same results. The amplitude-frequency responses produced by the harmonic balance approach are validated by the numericalintegrations and the experimental data. The investigation reveals that there coexist hardening and softening characteristics in the amplitude-frequency response curves under sufficiently large excitations. The harvester with thecoexistenceof hardening and softening nonlinearitiescan outperform not only linear energy harvesters but also typical hardening nonlinear energy harvesters.Tian-Chen Yuan Jian Yang Li-Qun Chen 2019Acta Mechanica Sinica2019,35,4:4
Study on the transverse structures across Taiwan Strait显示文摘The mountain ranges are almost NE- or NNE-trending in mainland and Taiwan island across the strait. But a number of correspondent transverse structures across Taiwan Strait have been identified on the basis of morphology, surface structure, deep seismic survey and gravity field etc. Moreover, it is inferred from the square or/and rectangular shape of the isoseist maps of 8 M≥6 earthquakes occurring in the western foothill plain of Taiwan that there is an apparent segmentation of the Taiwan Island along the N-S orientation. This has been verified from the GPS's results of the ground motions measured during the Chi-Chi earthquake in 1999. As a matter of fact, the transverse structures within the Taiwan Island could be correlated with more salient NW- and EW-trending structures in the mainland of Fujian than in Taiwan. The investigation of the transverse structures across Taiwan Strait is conducive to realizing the geology within the strait. Hence, the tectonic sketch map of the strait as well as mainland and island drawn in this context shows NW- and EW-trending structures for the study area.MA Zongjin (马宗晋) WANG Chien-Ying (王乾盈) XU Jie (徐杰) NIE Fengjun (聂逢君) ZHANG Jin (张进) 2002Science China Earth Sciences2002,45,12:4
Influence of Transverse Normal Pressure on Deformation Behavior of Sheet Metal显示文摘To investigate the influence of magnitude and distribution of the transverse normal pressure on deformation behavior of sheet metal, viscous pressure bulge test (VPB) of overlapping sheet metals is proposed, where the overlapped sheet metal is deformed under the dual-sided normal pressure provided by viscous medium and the overlapping sheet. The transverse normal pressure loading features provided by overlapping sheet metals are first simulated by DEFORM-2D.It shows that the magnitude and space distribution of transverse normal pressure are dependent on strain hardening exponent n-,strength coefficient K-and thickness t-values of the overlapping sheet metal.Based on the stress, deviator stress and strain distribution resulted from the finite element simulation,it indicated that the uniform transverse normal pressure has no effect on deviator stress, the figure and strain distribution of bulge specimens have no change. The non-uniform transverse normal pressure can remarkably change the figure and metal flow of specimens, and the formability of sheet metal can be improved by controlling the transverse normal pressure distribution.王哲 王忠金 2009Journal of Wuhan University of Technology(Materials Science)2009,24,S1:3
Transverse nonlinear vibrations of a circular spinning disk with a varying rotating speed显示文摘We analyze the transverse nonlinear vibrations of a rotating flexible disk subjected to a rotating point force with a periodically varying rotating speed. Based on Hamilton’s principle, the nonlinear governing equations of motion (coupled equations among the radial, tangential and transverse displacements) are derived for the rotating flexible disk. When the in-plane inertia is ignored and a stress function is introduced, the three nonlinearly coupled partial differential equations are reduced to two nonlinearly coupled partial differential equations. According to Galerkin’s approach, a four-degree-of-freedom nonlinear system governing the weakly split resonant modes is derived. The resonant case considered here is 1:1:2:2 internal resonance and a critical speed resonance. The primary parametric resonance for the first-order sin and cos modes and the fundamental parametric resonance for the second-order sin and cos modes are also considered. The method of multiple scales is used to obtain a set of eight-dimensional nonlinear averaged equations. Based on the averaged equations, using numerical simulations, the influence of different parameters on the nonlinear vibrations of the spinning disk is detected. It is concluded that there exist complicated nonlinear behaviors including the periodic, period-n and multi-pulse type chaotic motions for the spinning disk with a varying rotating speed. It is also found that among all parameters, the damping and excitation have great influence on the nonlinear responses of the spinning disk with a varying rotating speed.ZHANG Wei* & YANG XiaoLi College of Mechanical Engineering, Beijing University of Technology, Beijing 100124, China 2010Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2010,53,8:3
Effect of sound waveguide on near-field in shallow water显示文摘Wavenumber integration and eigenray techniques for near-filed computation within range of 100 m and frequency from 20 Hz to 15 kHz in shallow water are used in this paper. In different hydrological conditions, locations of measurement system, central frequencies and 1/3 octave frequency band, the calculated transmission loss of near-field is compared with that calculated according to the spherical attenuation law. 19Modeling shale with consideration of bedding planes by cohesive finite element method显示文摘Shale contains distributed directional bedding planes, which make the shale transverse isotropic. To model shale with consideration of the bedding planes,a cohesive finite element method(CFEM)is developed based on the randomized triangular mesh. The interface orientation generated from such mesh tends to be uniformly distributed with the element number increasing. To represent the bedding plane, the interfaces aligned with the bedding plane are assigned the cohesive law that characterizes the bedding plane while the other interfaces are assigned the cohesive law that characterizes the matrix.By this means, the anisotropy characteristics of the stiffness and the strength of shale are well represented. The simulation examples demonstrate that the bedding plane has a significant influence on the fracture trajectory, which is consistent with the observation in the experiment. It is suggested that this modeling method of shale is feasible. It provides an alternative approach to fracture simulation in shale.Chunfang Li Zhennan Zhang 2019Theoretical & Applied Mechanics Letters2019,9,6:2
