| 2 | Seismic comprehensive forecast based on modified project pursuit regression显示文摘In the research of projection pursuit for seismic comprehensive forecast,the algorithm of projection pursuit regression(PPR) is one of most applicable methods.But generally,the algorithm structure of the PPR is very complicated.By partial smooth regressions for many times,it has a large amount of calculation and complicated extrapolation,so it is easily trapped in partial solution.On the basis of the algorithm features of the PPR method,some solutions are given as below to aim at some shortcomings in the PPR calculation:to optimize project direction by using particle swarm optimization instead of Gauss-Newton algorithm,to simplify the optimal process with fitting ridge function by using Hermitian polynomial instead of piecewise linear regression.The overall optimal ridge function can be obtained without grouping the parameter optimization.The modeling capability and calculating accuracy of projection pursuit method are tested by means of numerical emulation technique on the basis of particle swarm optimization and Hermitian polynomial,and then applied to the seismic comprehensive forecasting models of polydimensional seismic time series and general disorder seismic samples.The calculation and analysis show that the projection pursuit model in this paper is characterized by simplicity,celerity and effectiveness.And this model is approved to have satisfactory effects in the real seismic comprehensive forecasting,which can be regarded as a comprehensive analysis method in seismic comprehensive forecast. | Anxu Wu Xiangdong Lin Changsheng Jiang Yongxian Zhang Xiaodong Zhang Mingxiao Li Ping'an Li | 2009 | Earthquake Science2009,22,5: | 3 |
| 3 | On the uniqueness of virtual substrate for metasurface in a dielectric half-space显示文摘In this paper,we study the uniqueness of a virtual substrate for periodic metallic elements in a dielectric half-space.When the periodic metallic elements are placed at the interface of different substrates,they can be regarded to be embedded into a virtual substrate whose thickness approaches zero.However,the process of the mathematical limit of the thickness seems to be independent of the choice of the virtual substrate.Thereby,it is necessary to verify whether the arbitrary virtual substrate holds for the case.It is theoretically verified that the permittivity of the virtual substrate should be unique in order to satisfy the physical boundary condition of the periodic metallic elements.The root of the phenomenon is that the mathematical limit gives the alternative means to approach the actual physical situation,but the actual physical situation determines the way how the mathematical limit approaches zero.Finally,for comparison,two different virtual substrates are designed to validate the theory,for alternative substrate,incidence angle,and metallic elements.Besides,the finding can also be used to simplify the analysis and design of the metasurface by converting the periodic metallic elements in a dielectric half-space to the same periodic metallic elements in a uniform substrate. | Xiaobo LIU Wei XUE Xiaoming CHEN Anxue ZHANG Qiang CHENG Zongben XU | 2022 | Science China(Information Sciences)2022,65,1: | 2 |
| 4 | Revisit to Mutual Coupling Effects on Multi-Antenna Systems显示文摘Due to space limitation,mutual coupling occurs almost invisibly in array antennas.In this paper,the mutual coupling effects on the two most popular categories of array antennas,i.e.,phased arrays and multiple-input multiple-output(MIMO)antennas,are reviewed.Some misconceptions regarding the mutual coupling effects are uncovered.It is shown that the steering pattern of a phased array at an arbitrary scan-ning angle can be readily calculated once the embedded radiation patterns of the array elements(including the mutual coupling effect)are obtained.As antenna spacing decreases,absorption loss increases,yet the phase terms tend to add up constructively as antenna spacing reduces,which may overcompensate the absorption loss due to mutual coupling.Thus,the array efficiency may be increased by reducing the antenna spacing.A patch antenna array is used to illustrate this phenomenon.It is further shown that while mutual coupling tends to reduce the correlation of two-element arrays,it has a negligible effect on the overall correlations of larger arrays.Finally,various mutual coupling reduction techniques are briefly presented.Two feasible techniques for large planar arrays are used to illustrate the benefits of array decoupling. | Xiaoming Chen Huiling Pei Mengting Li Huilin Huang Quanxin Ren Qi Wu Anxue Zhang Ahmed A.Kishk | 2020 | Journal of Communications and Information Networks2020,5,4: | 0 |
| 5 | A Revisit of Orbital Angular Momentum Multiplexing in Multipath Environment显示文摘It is commonly believed that orbital an-gular momentum(OAM)multiplexing is only suitable for short-range communications in line-of-sight(LoS)scenario and multipath propagation would be detrimental for OAM communications.It has been demonstrated very recently that OAM multiplexing could work in rich isotropic multipath environment when the conventional spatial equalization is used for data detection.Moreover,the resulting channel capacity is comparable to that of a conventional multiple-input multiple-output system.Nev-ertheless,the rich isotropic multipath environment is an ideal multipath scenario.In this paper,we investigate the performance of OAM multiplexing in arbitrary multipath environment.Contrary to the common belief,it is shown that multipath can be beneficial for OAM multiplexing in terms of channel capacity.Particularly,the OAM capacity increases with enlarged angular spread of the channel and reaches its maximum when the angular spread is comparable to the divergence angle of the OAM beam.Based on the study,the OAM multiplexing is further investigated for base station(BS)applications.It is shown that OAM based BS antennas are comparable to(or even outperform)the conventional BS antennas in terms of channel capacity. | Wei Xue Xiaoming Chen Xiaobo Liu Xiangshuai Meng Anxue Zhang Wei E.I.Sha | 2020 | Journal of Communications and Information Networks2020,5,4: | 0 |

| 7 | Transformation of a metasurface on the substrate interface into the same metasurface in a homogenized substrate based on two kinds of modified Babinet's principles显示文摘Previously,the metasurface was usually manufactured on a dielectric substrate using the printed circuit boards(PCB)technology.However,due to the existence of the substrate interface,the electromagnetic radiation and coupling of the sub-wavelength metasurface becomes more complex for theoretical analysis.To this end,an indirect method is developed to transform the problem of a metasurface in a dielectric half-space into a simpler problem of the same metasurface in a homogenized dielectric space.Specifically,two different theoretical models of complementary metasurfaces in a dielectric half-space are first given.A specific yet unknown relative permittivity is included in one model to realize the above transformation.By comparing these two theoretical models in terms of the surface impedance matrix,the specific yet unknown relative permittivity is analytically derived as(ε_(r,unk))^(1/2)=(ε_(r,1))^(1/2)/2+(ε_(r,2))^(1/2)/2.Finally,two arbitrary metasurfaces are given to verify the proposed theory for arbitrary incidence wave in dielectric half-space.The theory can greatly simplify the analysis and design of the metasurface in a dielectric halfspace,because only the metasurface in a homogenized dielectric space like vacuum needs to be theoretically solved after completing the above transformation. | Xiaobo LIU Rui LU Anxue ZHANG Qiang CHENG Xiaoming CHEN | 2023 | Science China(Information Sciences)2023,66,12: | 0 |
| 8 | Polarization singularities in planar electromagnetic resonators with rotation and mirror symmetries显示文摘In this work,we apply the group representation theory to systematically study polarization singularities in the inplane components of the electric fields supported by a planar electromagnetic(EM)resonator with generic rotation and reflection symmetries.We reveal the intrinsic connections between the symmetries and the topological features,i.e.,the spatial configuration of the in-plane fields and the associated polarization singularities.The connections are substantiated by a simple relation that links the topological charges of the singularities and the symmetries of the resonator.To verify,a microwave planar resonator with the D8group symmetries is designed and numerically simulated,which demonstrates the theoretical findings well.Our discussions can be applied to generic EM resonators working in a wide EM spectrum,such as circular antenna arrays,microring resonators,and photonic quasi-crystals,and provide a unique symmetry perspective on many effects in singular optics and topological photonics. | JIE YANG XUEZHI ZHENG JIAFU WANG ANXUE ZHANG TIE JUN CUI GUY A.E.VANDENBOSCH | 2023 | Photonics Research2023,11,6: | 0 |
