| 1 | Effect of cypermethrin insecticide on the microbial community in cucumber phyllosphere显示文摘Cucumber (Cucumis sativus) is one of the most widely used vegetable in the world,and different pesticides have been extensively used for controlling the insects and disease pathogens of this plant.However,little is known about how the pesticides affect the microbial community in cucumber phyllosphere.This study was the first attempt to assess the impact of pyrethroid insecticide cyperemethrin on the microbial communities of cucumber phyllosphere using biochemical and genetic approaches.Phospholipid fatty acid (PLFA) assay indicated that cyperemethrin insecticide treatment led to a significant increase in both total and bacterial biomass and a decrease in fungal biomass and the ratio of Gram-positive (GP) bacteria to Gram-negative (GN) bacteria within the cucumber phyllosphere.Principal-component analyses (PCA) suggested that the number of unsaturated and cyclopropane PLFAs (16:1ω9t,18:1ω7,cy17:0,cy19:0) increased with the insecticide treatment,whereas the saturated PLFA i16:0,i17:0 decreased.The increase of GN bacteria implied that the cypermethrin insecticide might be a nutrient for the growth of these phyllosphere microbes.Terminal restriction fragment length polymorphism (T-RFLP) reinforced the PLFA results.A significant change of bacterial community structure was observed in the separate dendrogram cluster between control and treated samples with the cucumber phyllosphere following cypermethrin insecticide treatment.Moreover,the increased terminal restriction fragments (T-RFs) (58,62,89,99,119,195,239,311,340,and 473 bp) indicated that some bacteria might play a significant role in the insecticide degradation within the cucumber phylosphere,whereas the disappeared T-RFs (44,51,96,223,306,and 338 bp) implied that some other bacteria might potentially serve as microbial indicator of cyperemethrin insecticide exposure. | Baoguo ZHANG Zhihui BAI | 2008 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2008,20,11: | 19 |
| 2 | Dry Heat Treatment Reduces the Occurrence of Cladosporium cucumerinum, Ascochyta citrullina, and Colletotrichum orbiculare on the Surface and Interior of Cucumber Seeds显示文摘Dry heat treatment has been identifie as a method for disinfecting seed-borne pathogens in vegetable seeds. This study demonstrated that three seed-borne pathogens of cucumber(Cladosporium cucumerinum that causes scabs, Ascochyta citrullina that results in gummy stem blight,and Colletotrichum orbiculare that induces anthracnose) could be effectively eradicated from cucumber seeds by dry heat treatment. In vitro growth of these three pathogens was inhibited by dry heat treatment at 70 °C for 40 min. These pathogens were inactivated after exposing infected seeds to 70 °C dry heat for at least 90 min. Seed infection was significant y reduced by exposing the seeds to 70 °C dry heat for at least 40 min. Seed moisture content and germination were slightly reduced after 70 °C heat treatment for 40–120 min. Seed vigor remained at a high level after dry heat treatment at 70 °C for 90 min. | 3 | Xiyanping injection therapy for children with mild hand foot and mouth disease:a randomized controlled trial显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the clinical effects of Xiyan-ping injection intervention in pediatric patients with mild hand foot and mouth disease(HFMD).METHODS: A total of 329 patients were stratified and block-randomized for symptomatic treatment of HFMD and assigned to one of the following groups: Western Medicine(group A, n = 103), Xiyanping injection(group B, n = 109), or Xiyanping injection and symptomatic treatment using Western Medicine(group C, n = 117). During the trial, fever,rash, ulcers of the mouth were observed among participants in each group before and after treatment, and conversion rates from mild to severe HFMD were measured.RESULTS: After 3-7 days' treatment, no significant differences in the conversion rates from mild to severe HFMD were observed among the three groups(P > 0.05). There was a significantly low number of patients with the onset time of antifebrile effect,vanished time of hand and foot rashes and cumulative time for the ulcers in the mouth vanished,among the three groups(P < 0.05, P < 0.01). The onset time of antifebrile effect of patients in groups B and C were markedly shorter compared with those in group A(P < 0.05, P < 0.01); there was no statically significant difference observed between groups B and C(P > 0.05). No significant differences were observed in the time for body temperature recovery among the three groups(P > 0.05). There were no significant differences in adverse effects among the three groups(P > 0.05).CONCLUSION: Xiyanping injection together with use of Western Medicine is most effective for symptomatic treatment of mild HFMD. | 4 | Optimal Operation of Integrated Heat and Electricity Systems:A Tightening McCormick Approach显示文摘Combined heat and electricity operation with variable mass flow rates promotes flexibility,economy,and sustainability through synergies between electric power systems(EPSs)and district heating systems(DHSs).Such combined operation presents a highly nonlinear and nonconvex optimization problem,mainly due to the bilinear terms in the heat flow model—that is,the product of the mass flow rate and the nodal temperature.Existing methods,such as nonlinear optimization,generalized Benders decomposition,and convex relaxation,still present challenges in achieving a satisfactory performance in terms of solution quality and computational efficiency.To resolve this problem,we herein first reformulate the district heating network model through an equivalent transformation and variable substitution.The reformulated model has only one set of nonconvex constraints with reduced bilinear terms,and the remaining constraints are linear.Such a reformulation not only ensures optimality,but also accelerates the solving process.To relax the remaining bilinear constraints,we then apply McCormick envelopes and obtain an objective lower bound of the reformulated model.To improve the quality of the McCormick relaxation,we employ a piecewise McCormick technique that partitions the domain of one of the variables of the bilinear terms into several disjoint regions in order to derive strengthened lower and upper bounds of the partitioned variables.We propose a heuristic tightening method to further constrict the strengthened bounds derived from the piecewise McCormick technique and recover a nearby feasible solution.Case studies show that,compared with the interior point method and the method implemented in a global bilinear solver,the proposed tightening McCormick method quickly solves the heat–electricity operation problem with an acceptable feasibility check and optimality. | Lirong Deng Hongbin Sun Baoju Li Yong Sun Tianshu Yang Xuan Zhang | 2021 | Engineering2021,7,8: | 3 |
| 5 | Development and Evaluation of a Loop-mediated Isothermal Amplification Assay for the Rapid Detection and Identification of Pectobacterium carotovorum on Celery in the Field显示文摘Pectobacterium carotovorum is the causal agent of bacterial soft rot in a wide range of vegetable host species.Once P.carotovorum infects the plant,the spread of the disease is difficult to control.In this study,a rapid and sensitive method based on loop-mediated isothermal amplification(LAMP)was developed for detecting P.carotovorum in celery with soft rot using a primer set designed from the pmrA conserved sequence of P.carotovorum.The specificity of the LAMP primer set for P.carotovorum was extensively validated on both P.carotovorum strains and nontarget strains.The sensitivity was 1 pg of P.carotovorum genomic DNA,which demonstrated 10 times more sensitive than the conventional PCR assay.LAMP was also used to detect P.carotovorum in bacterial suspension.The lowest detection concentration was 104 CFU·mL^−1.In addition,a LAMP assay,in conjunction with a crude DNA extraction method,was successfully performed on P.carotovorum-infected samples derived from both artificially and naturally infected plants.In summary,the LAMP assay established in this study constitutes a simple,sensitive,and rapid method for the detection of P.carotovorum,and has potential application in the control of celery soft rot disease through early detection. | Yanxia Shi Zhiwen Jin Xianglong Meng Lixue Wang Xuewen Xie Ali Chai Baoju Li | 2020 | Horticultural Plant Journal2020,6,5: | 3 |

| 12 | Occurrence and Damage and Pathogene of Potato Early Blight in Winter in Yunnan Province,China显示文摘[Objectives]The paper was to understand the species and pathogenicity of the pathogen causing potato early blight in winter.[Methods]The occurrence of potato early blight was investigated in 5 winter potato growing areas in Yunnan Province.The disease samples were collected from two locations(Zhutang Village and Zhanai Village,Pu'er City)where the occurrence of early blight was severe.The pathogen was isolated and purified in laboratory and identified by morphological characteristics and phylogenetic analysis of ITS gene sequence.And it was further verified via re-inoculation by Koch's rules.The growth characteristics and pathogenicity of isolates in different seasons were analyzed with 4 strains of Alternaria isolated in spring(EYZ,EYAX,TA1 and TAC)as controls.[Results]Early blight occurred in varying degrees in the 5 winter potato growing areas,and the incidence of early blight was up to 100%in some plots in Lancang County,Pu'er City.A total of 35 strains of Alternaria were isolated from plots with high incidence,which were divided into two types according to colony morphology.The first type was round colonies with smooth edges and gray white fronts,and the second type was round colonies with rough edges and gray black fronts.Three strains LC1,LC2,LC3 of the first type and two strains ZT3 and ZT8 of the second type were selected and identified as Alternaria alternata through morphological and molecular identification.Re-inoculation test further confirmed that the pathogen was A.alternata.Meantime,it was found that the growth rate of colonies isolated in winter was relatively slow,and there was no significant difference between the pathogenicity of LC1 and TA1,but the pathogenicity of strains isolated in winter was generally higher than that isolated in spring.[Conclusions]It is confirmed that the pathogen causing potato early blight in winter is A.alternata in Yunnan Province.The results will lay a foundation for the research of pathogenesis,occurrence regularity and disease control of A.alternata in winter potato. | Zhenhua ZHANG Shen XIONG Li ZHANG Baoju ZHANG Jin PU Min TU Jianbo ZHANG Decai YU | 2022 | Asian Agricultural Research2022,14,4: | 0 |
| 13 | Highly Durable MIL-96 Membranes via a One-step Active γ-Alumina Conversion Strategy for Gas Separation显示文摘Metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)are attractive in membrane separation due to their special pore structure and suitable aperture size.The fabrication of defect-free and robust MOF membranes with excellent durability is highly demanded but remains challenging.In this work,we report a one-step activeγ-alumina conversion strategy for the facile and reliable fabrication of an MIL-96 membrane.In this case,theγ-Al_(2)O_(3) sol was dip-coated and sintered on theα-Al_(2)O_(3) disc as the active aluminum source and substrate for the nucleation and growth of MOF.A continuous and well-intergrown MIL-96 membrane was generated with exceptional stability due to the strong adhesion to the substrate.The resultant MIL-96 membrane yielded a satisfactory H_(2)/CO_(2) permselectivity and high-temperature resistance,delivering a selectivity of 12.35 with H_(2) permeance of 6.20×10^(−7) mol·m^(−2)·s^(−1)·Pa^(−1) at 150℃.Moreover,the probe membrane presented remarkable durability and recyclability under harsh hydrothermal conditions.This method paves the way for constructing highly stable and selective MOF membranes and could accelerate the development of advanced membrane separation technologies for gas purification and recycling in addressing the severe energy and environmental problems. | GAO Zhuangzhuang LI Baoju OU Shuxian LI Dongsheng FANG Qianrong QIU Shilun XUE Ming | 2023 | Chemical Research in Chinese Universities2023,39,6: | 0 |
| 14 | Powdery mildew disease resistance and markerassisted screening at the Pm60 locus in wild diploid wheat Triticum urartu显示文摘Triticum urartu,a diploid wild wheat and progenitor of the A genome of bread wheat,is an important resource for resistance to powdery mildew fungus caused by Blumeria graminis f.sp.tritici(Bgt).In the present study we systematically characterized the interaction between the Bgt fungus and T.urartu at the microscopic level.We also tested 227 T.urartu accessions for reaction to Bgt isolate E09 and discovered previously uncategorized powdery mildew resistance in this collection.Pm60 is a CC-NB-LRR type powdery mildew resistance gene that has at least three functional alleles,Pm60,Pm60a,and Pm60b.A marker-assisted screen targeting the Pm60 locus identified a non-functional allele of Pm60a,designated as Pm60a′.A sequence comparison of Pm60a′and Pm60a revealed that they differed by 58 SNPs and one 3-nucleotide deletion.Based on the sequence variations two molecular markers were developed to differentiate the functional Pm60a allele from the non-functional Pm60a′.Our screen revealed the presence of a previously uncharacterized powdery mildew resistance in T.urartu and provides new insights into the Pm60 locus.We believe that the two molecular markers developed here and new T.urartu resistant accessions will facilitate further identification of novel powdery mildew resistance genes and benefit breeding for powdery mildew resistance. | Fukai Zhao Yinghui Li Baoju Yang Hongbo Yuan Cong Jin Lixun Zhou Hongcui Pei Lifang Zhao Yiwen Li Yilin Zhou Jiankun Xie Qian-Hua Shen | 2020 | The Crop Journal2020,8,2: | 0 |
| 15 | Clay mineral distribution characteristics of surface sediments in the South Mid-Atlantic Ridge显示文摘Clay minerals are usually considered as important indicators to identify sources in both terrigenous and marine sediments.In particular,clay minerals in metalliferous sediments(MS)have long been studied in global oceans except in South Mid-Atlantic Ridge(SMAR)due to limited explorations.Thus,32 MS and 34 non-MS(NMS)samples were analyzed to clarify the distribution characteristics and mineral compositions of clay minerals.All the sediments were collected along the SMAR between 12°S and 27°S.After removal of organic matter and carbonate,clay fractions(<2μm)were investigated by Xray diffraction(XRD)analysis.Results show that clay mineral assemblages of surface MS consist dominantly of smectite,less abundant illite,chlorite,and kaolinite in average weight percentage of 30%,21%,18%,and 16%,respectively.On the other hand,clay mineral assemblages in the NMS consist mainly of illite,less abundant kaolinite,chlorite,and very scarce smectite in average weight percentage of 47%,29%,24%,and 0.2%,respectively.The clay fractions in MS are mainly composed of amorphous or poorly crystallized Fe/Mn oxyhydroxides,clay mineral,quartz,and plagioclase.However,the counterparts in the NMS are mainly composed of well-crystallized clay minerals,quartz,and plagioclase without the presence of Fe/Mn oxyhydroxides.It is suggested that most of the illite,kaolinite,and chlorite in both MS and NMS are likely aeolian dust in origin from South Africa continent.In addition,the abundance of kaolinite dominates the clay mineral assemblage at low latitudes,where the intensive chemical weathering of continental source rocks facilitating the formation of kaolinite.In terms of smectite,it is indicated of authigenic origin in consideration of only smectite is available in several MS and the absence in NMS.Moreover,the MS samples with only smectite available are always accompanied by goethite.Therefore,it is assumed that most of smectite occurred in studied area is the results of interaction between hydrothermal Fe-oxyhydroxide,silica,and seawater. | Qiannan HU Chuanshun LI Baoju YANG Xisheng FANG Huahua LÜ Xuefa SHI Jihua LIU | 2023 | Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2023,41,3: | 0 |
