| 3 | Experimental and theoretical studies on the removal mechanism of formaldehyde from water by mesoporous calcium silicate显示文摘Most porous materials with high specific surface area and diverse internal structures possess good adsorption ability.In this work,a tremella-like mesoporous calcium silicate hydrate(CSH)with high adsorption capacity was successfully prepared via a facile hydrothermal method.The adsorption effect and adsorption mechanism of the as-prepared calcium silicate hydrate(APCSH)towards formaldehyde from water were investigated systematically.Results indicate that AP-CSH has high Ca/Si ratio(1.95),large specific surface area(122.83 m2 g-1)and exhibits excellent adsorption capacity.The results of batch adsorption experiments show that AP-CSH can remove formaldehyde from water rapidly and effectively with the maximum removal efficiency of 98.94%.The adsorption process agrees well with the pseudo-second-order and Freundlich isotherm model.Furthermore,regeneration can be achieved by simply immersing AP-CSH in absolute ethanol and the removal efficiency can still reach about 99.50%after five cycles.The adsorption mechanism was also studied by experimental analyses and molecular dynamics simulation.Both experimental results and theoretical simulation support that formaldehyde adsorption over AP-CSH belongs to chemical adsorption. | WANG ManMan FAN BaoMin WEN BianYing JIANG Chao | 2020 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2020,63,10: | 1 |

| 5 | Anti-corrosive mechanism of poly(N-ethylaniline)/sodium silicate electrochemical composites for copper:Correlated experimental and in-silico studies显示文摘Poly(N-ethylaniline)(PNEA)composites with varying silicate content were fabricated on copper through a novel electropolymerized strategy in acidic solution.Thickness,compactness,conductivity and adhesive strength of the composite(PNEA-10 Si)were optimized as silicate content reached 10 m M.Electrochemical,morphological and solution analyses were employed to evaluate the protective performance of PNEA and PNEA-10 Si coatings for copper in 3.5%Na Cl solution.Results of electrochemical analyses indicated that as-prepared coatings retarded the oxygen reduction process efficiently for copper in 3.5%Na Cl solution,drained corrosion current density and elevated interfacial charge transfer resistance.Due to favorable barrier effect,compact structure and low porosity index,PNEA-10 Si composite exhibited superior anti-corrosive performance,which was more tolerant than PNEA during long-time immersion.PNEA-10 Si coated sample exhibited a stable topography after 144 h immersion with the minimum concentration of released ions revealing the improved protection capacity.Electronic/atomic-multiscale calculations were conducted to clarify the deposition and protection mechanism of as-prepared coatings.Outcomes of density functional theory corroborated that silicate is stabilized in the PNEA layer via electrostatic force;and immobile silicate positively contributed to the charge transfer barrier of the composite.Molecular dynamics simulations evidenced that the favorable compatibility between PNEA and silicate facilitated polymer deposition and confined in-situ ions diffusion. | Hao Liu Baomin Fan Guifeng Fan Yucong Ma Hua Hao Wen Zhang | 2021 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,13: | 1 |

| 8 | Progression in the Oxidation Stability of MXenes显示文摘MXenes are under the spotlight due to their versatile physicochemical characteristics. Since their discovery in 2011, significant advancements have been achieved in their synthesis and application sectors. However, the spontaneous oxidation of MXenes, which is critical to its processing and product lifespan, has gotten less attention due to its chemical complexity and poorly understood oxidation mechanism. This perspective focuses on the oxidation stability of MXenes and addresses the most recent advancements in understanding and the possible countermeasures to limit the spontaneous oxidation of MXenes. A section is dedicated to the presently accessible methods for monitoring oxidation, with a discussion on the debatable oxidation mechanism and coherently operating factors that contribute to the complexity of MXenes oxidation. | 12 | A New Indicator for Modern Forestry Development: Forest Thickness显示文摘Modern forestry focusing on ecological dimension needs some new indicators different from those designed for the traditional forestry. On the basis of the evaluation indicators for traditional forestry, such as forest coverage, total standing stock volume and forest volume per unit area, the paper came up with a new indicator called 'forest thickness' (FT). FT refers to the thickness which can be got if using total stock volume of forest and trees to cover the total land in a given area, and it is charged by mm. This indicator can be used to solve the long-term problem that the forest coverage can not reflect in a comprehensive way the level of forest ecological development, and provide the easy and clear approach to measuring and comparing the levels of forest ecological development in different periods at different regions. When the indicator value is over 9 mm, the ecosystem is indicated as excellent; when in 6-9 mm, the ecosystem is indicated as good; when in 3-6 mm, the ecosystem is indicated as moderately good; when below 3 mm, the ecosystem is indicated as bad.
