| 1 | Monitoring Carbon Dioxide from Space:Retrieval Algorithm and Flux Inversion Based on GOSAT Data and Using CarbonTracker-China显示文摘Monitoring atmospheric carbon dioxide(CO_2) from space-borne state-of-the-art hyperspectral instruments can provide a high precision global dataset to improve carbon flux estimation and reduce the uncertainty of climate projection. Here, we introduce a carbon flux inversion system for estimating carbon flux with satellite measurements under the support of 'The Strategic Priority Research Program of the Chinese Academy of Sciences—Climate Change: Carbon Budget and Relevant Issues'. The carbon flux inversion system is composed of two separate parts: the Institute of Atmospheric Physics Carbon Dioxide Retrieval Algorithm for Satellite Remote Sensing(IAPCAS), and Carbon Tracker-China(CT-China), developed at the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The Greenhouse gases Observing SATellite(GOSAT) measurements are used in the carbon flux inversion experiment. To improve the quality of the IAPCAS-GOSAT retrieval, we have developed a post-screening and bias correction method, resulting in 25%–30% of the data remaining after quality control. Based on these data, the seasonal variation of XCO_2(column-averaged CO_2dry-air mole fraction) is studied, and a strong relation with vegetation cover and population is identified. Then, the IAPCAS-GOSAT XCO_2 product is used in carbon flux estimation by CT-China. | 2 | Local perceptions of the conversion of cropland to forestland program in Jiangxi, Shaanxi, and Sichuan, China显示文摘Numerous land-use policies have been implemented in China in recent decades for ecological restoration and conservation to reduce environmental disasters and promote environmental sustainability.Many of these policies follow a top-down approach to implementation and as such,emphasize the hierarchical control within government structures.An understanding of local perceptions of land-use policies is important if the disconnect between policy makers and the target population is to be reduced and if program support is to improve.This study aimed to help improve local implementation,attitude toward,and engagement by examining the influence of socio-economic characteristics on the target population’s(local farmers)perception of the conversion of cropland to forestland program(CFPP)land use policy in Jiangxi,Sichuan,and Shaanxi provinces.It uses logistical regression models,with robust aspects of perception including confidence,support,transparency,prospects,fairness,and willingness to participate.Results indicate that social aspects as well as economic aspects are most important in influencing farmers’perceptions towards the CFPP.The farmers who have received technical support,rural male habitants,educated,and non-middle-aged farmers exhibit more positive perceptions of the program and are much more likely to support it,whereas farmers without any technical support or formal education,and female and middle-aged farmers are less likely to support the program.Importantly,this study also reveals the differences in responses,experiences and perceptions of the farmers living across different provinces.These empirical results provide insight into the influence of socio-economic characteristics on the perception of farmers towards land-use policies,which has important implications for designing targeted policy instruments and increasing farmer support for these policies.This knowledge can be harnessed and further evaluated in future research to improve citizen engagement,support,and understanding in order to help ecological restoration and conservation objectives be more effectively achieved. | Guangyu Wang Oliver Z.Ma Liguo Wang Anil Shrestha Baozhang Chen Feng Mi Shirong Liu Xiaomin Guo Sarah Eshpeter John L.Innes | 2019 | Journal of Forestry Research2019,30,5: | 1 |

| 12 | The current and future of terrestrial carbon balance over the Tibetan Plateau显示文摘The contemporary carbon balance over the Tibetan Plateau is highly uncertain with a ten-fold difference between various estimates.In a warming world,the potential exists for a large carbon release from its permafrost which could compromise China’s 2060 carbon-neutral goal.Here,we used a satellite-and inventory-based approach,ecosystem models,and atmospheric inversions to estimate that the carbon sink was 33.12–37.84 TgC yr^(–1)during 2000–2015.The carbon sink induced by climate change and increasing CO_(2) levels largely overcompensated for a livestock grazing-induced carbon source of 0.38TgC yr^(-1).By 2060,the carbon sink is projected to increase by 38.3–74.5% under moderate to high emissions scenarios,with the enhanced vegetation carbon uptake outweighing the warming-induced permafrost carbon release.The restoration of degraded grassland could sequestrate an additional 9.06 TgC yr^(-1),leading to a total carbon sink of 57.78–70.52 TgC yr^(-1).We conclude that the Tibetan Plateau’s ecosystems absorbed two-and-a-half times the amount of its cumulative fossil CO_(2) emissions during 2000–2015 and that their carbon sinks will almost double in strength in the future,helping to achieve China’s pledge to become carbon neutral by 2060. | Tao WANG Xiaoyi WANG Dan LIU Guanting LV Shuai REN Jinzhi DING Baozhang CHEN Jiansheng QU Yafeng WANG Shilong PIAO Fahu CHEN | 2023 | Science China Earth Sciences2023,66,7: | 0 |

| 14 | Clinical Application of PES Membrane Dialyzer显示文摘Objective The dialysate membrane can be classified into acetate membrane and synthetic membrane,while the latter can be further divided into polysulfone,polyacrylonitrile,etc.Polyethersulfone membrane is high molecular membrane material with excellent biocompatibility,stable mechanical properties,high temperature and pressure resistance,and good cleaning performance,which has been applied for more than 10 years.This trial is to assess the safety and efficacy of hollow polysulfone membrane fiber dialyzer with pattern number Enttex^(TM)-16LF(E60)for hemodialysis in patients with acute or chronic renal failure due to multiple factors.Methods Totally 76 patients receiving maintenance hemodialysis were included in a two-site,random,open label,two-stage,positive crossover and non inferiority validation study.The clinical efficacy and safety of the test device were observed,which was a hollow fiber dialyzer produced by Guangzhou Enttex Medical Products Co.,Ltd.,with polyethersulfone membrane imported from Germany.It was a low flux dialyzer with the pattern number of EnttexTM-16LF(E60).Inclusion criteria:①patients with acute or chronic renal failure due to various reasons who needed hemodialysis;②18 to 80 years old,gender unlimited;③patients who received stable dialysis for more than 3 months,regular hemodialysis 3 times a week,4 h at each time,blood flow rate of 200~350ml/min;④using bicarbonate dialysate at a flow rate of 500ml/min;⑤patients with arteriovenous fistula or who received artificial blood vessel puncture dialysis;received anticoagulation by heparin or low molecular weight heparin.Exclusion criteria:①patients needing heparin free dialysis for severe anemia,tumor and active bleeding;②patients with severe cardiac(gradeⅢcardiac function),hepatic(severe hepatitis and cirrhosis)and pulmonary diseases(severe respiratory failure).Results Comparison of parameters,including the changes of Kt/V,general creatinine and urea clearance rates and URR(urea reduction rate)shows no statistical significance in differences between the two devices,indicating that the test and control devices can equally and effectively eliminate toxins including creatinine and urea,etc.PPP and MITTP results are consistent.Comparison of ultrafiltration rates between two groups of patients shows no statistical difference.PPP and MITTP results are consistent,indicating that both the test device and control device can effectively eliminate water.In MITTP,electrolytes including K^+,Na^+,Cl^-,Ca^2+,HCO3^-,etc.show no statistical significance in difference between the test and control devices before and after dialysis(P>0.05).After treating by using test and control devices,body weight,serum potassium and phos-phorus all significantly decrease(P<0.001);serum Ca^2+,PO2,PCO2and HCO3^-all significantly increase(P<0.001).These results indicate that both the test and control devices can effectively eliminate serum potassium and phosphorus,and eliminate excess water in body,maintain the balance between liquid and electrolytes in patients.PPP and MITTP results are consistent.Conclusion This clinical trial confirms that hollow polyethersulfone membrane fiber dialyzer can be safely and effectively used in hemodialysis therapy. | YUN Chen YANG Peidian LIANG Wenxue CHEN Yu CHEN Gangyi LIU Hongping OUYANG Zihua SONG Huifeng LI Yunyi YU Zongchao GUAN Baozhang DONG Xiangnan LIU Huanhuan Cao Rui ZHANG Zeyu FAN Lijing HU Bo HE Yongcheng SHI Mingjie XU Jun Yang Lifeng TANG Shuifu | 2019 | 临床医学工程2019,26,S01: | 0 |

| 16 | Establishment of probabilistic model for Salmonella Enteritidis growth and inactivation under acid and osmotic pressure显示文摘The growth and survival characteristic of Salmonella Enteritidis under acidic and osmotic conditions were studied.Meanwhile,a probabilistic model based on the theory of cell division and mortality was established to predict the growth or inactivation of S.Enteritidis.The experimental results demonstrated that the growth curves of planktonic and detached cells showed a significant difference(p<0.05)under four conditions,including pH5.0+0.0%NaCl,pH7.0+4.0%NaCl,pH6.0+4.0%NaCl,and pH5.0+4.0%NaCl.And the established primary and secondary models could describe the growth of S.enteritis well by estimating four mathematics evaluation indexes,including determination coefficient(R2),root mean square error(RMSE),accuracy factor(Af)and bias factor(Bf).Moreover,sequential treatment of 15%NaCl stress followed by pH 4.5 stress was the best condition to inactivate S.Enteritidis in 10 h at 25◦C.The probabilistic model with Logistical or Weibullian form could also predict the inactivation of S.Enteritidis well,thus realize the unification of predictive model to some extent or generalization of inactivation model.Furthermore,the primary 4-parameter probabilistic model or generalized inactivation model had slightly higher applicability and reliability to describe the growth or inactivation of S.Enteritidis than Baranyi model or exponential inactivation model within the experimental range in this study. | Yujiao Shi Hong Liu Baozhang Luo Yangtai Liu Siyuan Yue Qing Liu Qingli Dong | 2017 | Food Science and Human Wellness2017,6,4: | 0 |
