1Changing Connectivities of Chinese Cities in the World City Network,2010–2016显示文摘Against the backdrop of the sizable economic growth of China in recent years, this paper uses the most recent data gathering of the Globalization and World Cities(Ga WC) research network to update and supplement earlier research on the shifting global connectivity of Chinese cities. The update consists of an evaluation of the connectivity of Chinese cities in 2016, the supplement of an analysis of the changing position of Chinese cities in the world city network between 2010 and 2016. To this end, we build on a specification of the world city network as an ‘interlocking network' in which producer services firms play the crucial role in city network formation. Information about the presence of leading producer services firms in cities in 2010 and 2016 is used as the input to a bipartite network projection algorithm in order to measure cities' network connectivity. The first set of results discusses the geographies of urban connectivity in the world city network in 2016. The second set of results discusses standardized measures of change to reveal the major dimensions of the transformations between 2010 and 2016. We find that, with the exception of Hong Kong, Macao and Kaohsiung of Taiwan, all Chinese cities record connectivity gains. This wholesale rise in connectivity is nonetheless geographically uneven, with above all Beijing, Chengdu/Chongqing and Changsha/Wuhan becoming more connected. 2Application of human bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells in the treatment of radiation-induced gastrointestinal syndrome显示文摘Nuclear accidents and terrorism present a serious threat for mass casualty.Accidental or intended radiation exposure leads to radiation-induced gastrointestinal(GI)syndrome.However,currently there are no approved medical countermeasures for GI syndrome.Thus,developing novel treatments for GI syndrome is urgent.Mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs)derived from bone marrow are a subset of multipotent adult somatic stem cells that have the ability to undergo self-renewal,proliferation and pluripotent differentiation.MSCs have advantages over other stem cells;they can be easily isolated from patients or donors,readily expanded ex vivo,and they possess reparative and immunomodulatory properties.Moreover,MSCs have been shown to be powerful tools in gene therapy and can be effectively transduced with vectors containing therapeutic genes.Therefore,the therapeutic potential of MSCs has been brought into the spotlight for the clinical treatment of GI syndrome.In this review,we discuss the possible role of MSCs in radiation-induced GI syndrome.YANG Chao DAI Wei Min CHEN Hai Xu WU Ben Yan 2014Science China(Life Sciences)2014,57,12:4

8Three-Dimensional Growth of Coherent Ferrite in Austenite: A Molecular Dynamics Study显示文摘Coherent second phase often exhibits anisotropic morphology with specifi c orientations with respect to both the second and the matrix phases.As a key feature of microstructure,the morphology of the coherent particles is essential for understanding the second-phase strengthening eff ect in various industrial alloys.This letter reports anisotropic growth of coherent ferrite from austenite matrix in pure iron based on molecular dynamics simulation.We found that the ferrite grain tends to grow into an elongated plate-like shape,independent of its initial confi guration.The fi nal shape of the ferrite is closely related to the misfi t between the two phases,with the longest direction and the broad facet of the plate being,respectively,consistent with the best matching direction and the best matching plane calculated via the Burgers vector content(BVC)method.The strain energy calculation in the framework of Eshelby’s inclusion theory verifi es that the simulated orientation of the coherent ferrite is energetically favorable.It is anticipated that the BVC method will be applicable in analysis of anisotropic growth and morphology of coherent second phase in other phase transformation systems.Zhi-Peng Sun Fu-Zhi Dai Ben Xu Wen-Zheng Zhang 2019Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)2019,32,6:1
9Value of the controlling nutritional status score and psoas muscle thickness per height in predicting prognosis in liver transplantation显示文摘BACKGROUND Patients with end-stage liver disease usually have varying degrees of malnutrition,and severe malnutrition may affect the prognosis of patients after liver transplantation(LT).However,there is no recommended standard for the nutrition assessment of patients waiting for LT,and it is unknown whether malnutrition has an impact on the occurrence of postoperative complications.AIM The study aim was to investigate the value of the controlling nutritional status(CONUT)score and psoas muscle thickness per height(PMTH)in predicting prognosis in LT.METHODS We retrospectively analyzed the clinical data of 313 patients who underwent classic orthotopic LT from January 2016 to December 2018 in Tianjin First Central Hospital affiliated with Tianjin Medical University.The CONUT score is derived from the preoperative serum albumin and total cholesterol levels,and total lymphocyte count.Patients were divided into low(≤4),medium(5–8),and high(9–12)CONUT score groups perioperative characteristics,Clavien-Dindo grade III/IV/V postoperative complications,graft loss and infection,and cumulative postoperative survival in the three groups were compared 3 mo after LT.PMTH was calculated as the ratio of the transverse thickness of the psoas muscle in the umbilical plane to the height of the patient.The cutoff values of receiver operating characteristic curves were determined separately for men and women.The values were 14.1 cm/m2 for women and 17.9 cm/m2 for men.The patients were then divided into low and high PMTH groups by the cutoff values.The comparison of data between the two groups was the same as above.RESULTS Patients with medium and high CONUT scores had lower preoperative serum hemoglobin,more intraoperative red blood cell(RBC)transfusions,longer postoperative intensive care unit stay and hospital stays,higher 7 and 14 preoperative-day serum bilirubin levels,and a higher incidence of postoperative grade III/IV complications and infections than patients with low CONUT scores.Differences in the 3-mo cumulative survival among the three groups were not significant.Patients with a low PMTH had higher preoperative serum urea nitrogen,more intraoperative packed RBC and frozen plasma transfusions,longer times to postoperative ventilator extubation,higher incidence of total postoperative complications,and a lower 3-mo cumulative survival than those with a high PMTH.CONCLUSION A CONUT score≥5 and a low PMTH were both associated with poor prognosis in LT.The CONUT score had no predictive value for short-term patient survival after LT,but the PMTH was predictive of short-term patient survival after LT.Xing Dai Ben Gao Xin-Xin Zhang Jiang Li Wen-Tao Jiang 2021World Journal of Clinical Cases2021,9,35:1

13Dislocation-mediated migration of interphase boundaries显示文摘Faceted interphase boundaries(IPBs)are commonly observed in lath-shaped precipitates in alloys consisting of simple face-centred cubic(fcc),body centred-cubic(bcc)or hexagonal closed packed(hcp)phases,which normally contain one or two sets of parallel dislocations.The influence of these dislocations on interface migration and possible accompanying long-range strain field remain unclear.To elucidate this,we carried out atomistic simulations to investigate the dislocation-mediated migration processes of IPBs in a pure-iron system.Our results show that the migration of these IPBs is accompanied with the slip of interfacial dislocations,even in high-index slip planes,with two migration modes were observed:the first mode is the uniform migration mode that occurs only when all of the dislocations slip in a common slip plane.A shear-coupled interface migration was observed for this mode.The other interfaces propagate in the stick-slip migration mode that occurs when the dislocations glide on different slip planes,involving dislocation reaction or tangling.A quantitative relationship was established to link the atomic displacements with the dislocation structure,slip plane,and interface normal.The macroscopic shear deformation due to the effect of overall atomic displacement shows a good agreement with the results obtained based on the phenomenological theory of martensite crystallography.Our findings have general implications for the understanding of phase transformations and the surface relief effect at the atomic scale.Zhipeng Sun Fuzhi Dai Ben Xu Wenzheng Zhang 2019Journal of Materials Science & Technology2019,35,11:1

16Functional Polyselenoureas for Selective Gold Recovery Prepared from Catalyst-Free Multicomponent Polymerizations of Elemental Selenium显示文摘Selenium-containing polymers with fascinating functionalities such as stimuli-responsive property,enzyme mimics,antioxidant activity,promotion of immune-cell activity,anticancer activity,and controlled delivery property,are highly desired,but rarely developed due to their underexplored synthetic methods.Herein,through careful design of monomeric structures and polymerization conditions,we report a series of catalyst-free multicomponent polymerizations(MCPs)of elemental selenium with aliphatic/aromatic diamines and diisocyanides that directly converted selenium to polyselenoureas with long-term stability,good solubility,well-characterized structures,and unique functionalities.The MCPs enjoyed broad monomer scope and fast conversion in 1 min,delivering 18 polyselenoureas with high molecular weights(M_(w)s up to 94,600 g/mol)in high yields(up to 99%).Furthermore,the polyselenoureas could be used for the extraction of Au^(3+)from mixed-metal ion solutions under practical conditions with high selectivity,sensitivity(<1μg/L),efficiency(>99.99%),and capacity(up to 665.60 mg·Au^(3+)/g)within 1 min.Further,the elemental gold was recoverable after the pyrolysis of the polymer complexes.Xiuying Wu Hua Lin Fengying Dai Rongrong Hu Ben Zhong Tang 2020CCS Chemistry2020,2,3:0
17Ultrathin Metal-Organic Framework Nanosheets-Derived Yolk-Shell Ni_(0.85)Se@NC with Rich Se-Vacancies for Enhanced Water Electrolysis显示文摘We present a controlled fabrication of selective ultrathin metal-organic framework(MOF)nanosheets as preassembling platforms,yolk-shell structured with a few-layered N-doped carbon(NC)shell-encapsulated Ni_(0.85)Se core(denoted as Ni_(0.85)Se@NC)via an oriented phase modulation(OPM)strategy.The ultrathin nature of the MOF nanosheets gave rise to the modification of structure at the electronic level with abundant Se-vacancies and effective electronic coupling via an Ni-N_(x) coordination at the interface between the Ni0.85Se core and NC shell.The Ni0.85Se@NC obtained exhibited low overpotentials for both oxygen evolution reaction(OER;300 mV)and hydrogen evolution reaction(HER;157 mV)at 10 mA·cm^(−2) under an alkaline condition,outperforming their corresponding bulk MOF-derived counterparts.By exploiting Ni_(0.85)Se@NC as anode and cathode catalysts,a low cell voltage of 1.61 V was achieved by performing alkaline water electrolysis.Remarkably,it also reached a high activity in natural seawater(pH=7.98)and simulated seawater(pH=7.86)electrolytes,even surpassing integrated Pt/C-RuO_(2)/CC electrodes.Density functional theory(DFT)studies illustrated that abundant Se-vacancies effectively regulated the electronic structure of Ni_(0.85)Se@NC by accelerating electron transfer from Ni to N atoms at the interface,and thus,enabling the Ni_(0.85)Se@NC to attain a near-optimal electronic configuration that stimulated ideal adsorption-free energy toward key reaction intermediates.Zhao-Di Huang Chao Feng Jian-Peng Sun Ben Xu Tian-Xiang Huang Xiao-Kang Wang Fang-Na Dai Dao-Feng Sun 2021CCS Chemistry2021,3,11:0

19Bioinspired organic optoelectronic synaptic transistors based on cellulose nanopaper and natural chlorophyll-a for neuromorphic systems显示文摘Inspired by human brains,optoelectronic synapses are expected as one of significant steps for constructing neuromorphic systems.In addition,intensive attention has been paid to biodegradable and biocompatible materials for developing green electronics.In this regard,environmentally friendly organic optoelectronic synaptic transistors based on wood-derived cellulose nanopaper(WCN)as dielectric/substrate and nature chlorophyll-a as photoactive material are demonstrated.Both WCN and chlorophyll-a are biocompatible and biodegradable materials from natural organisms.Versatile synaptic behaviors have been well mimicked by the modulation of both electrical and optical signals.More significantly,optical wireless communication is experimentally emulated and the information processing capability is also verified in pattern recognition simulation.Furthermore,the flexible synaptic transistors exhibit no apparent synaptic performance degradation even when the bending radius is reduced to 1 mm.Our work may develop a promising approach for the development of green and flexible electronics in neuromorphic visual systems.Junyao Zhang Dapeng Liu Qianqian Shi Ben Yang Pu Guo Lu Fang Shilei Dai Lize Xiong Jia Huang 2022npj Flexible Electronics2022,6,1:0
20Observatory science with eXTP显示文摘In this White Paper we present the potential of the enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry(eXTP) mission for studies related to Observatory Science targets. These include flaring stars, supernova remnants, accreting white dwarfs, low and high mass X-ray binaries, radio quiet and radio loud active galactic nuclei, tidal disruption events, and gamma-ray bursts. eXTP will be excellently suited to study one common aspect of these objects: their often transient nature.
