1Multiplexed imaging detection of live cell intracellular changes in early apoptosis with aggregation-induced emission fluorogens显示文摘Apoptosis is an important process for maintaining tissue homeostasis and eliminating abnormal cells in multicellular organisms.Abnormality in apoptosis often leads to severe diseases such as cancers. Better understanding of its mechanisms and processes is therefore important. Accompanying molecular biology events of apoptosis is a series of cellular morphology changes: nucleus condensation, cell shrinkage and rounding, cell surface blebbing, dynamic blebbing, apoptotic membrane protrusions and nucleus fragmentations and finally, the formation and release of apoptotic bodies. It is difficult to detect cellular changes in the early phase of apoptosis due to the subtle changes at this phase. In the current study, we induced apoptosis in He La cells with H2 O2 and used nuclear dye Hoechst 33258, mitochondria, lysosome and cytoplasmic protein specific aggregation-induced emission fluorogens(AIEgens), TPE-Ph-In, 2 M-DABS and BSPOTPE to successfully perform live cell multiplexed imaging to investigate early apoptosis cellular events. We showed the gradual dissipation of mitochondria membrane potential until it is nondetectable by TPE-Ph-In. 6Study on Triaxial Mechanical Properties and Micro Mechanism of Fly Ash Reinforced Cement Calcareous Sand显示文摘In order to study the mechanical properties and micro-mechanism of industrial waste fly ash-reinforced cement calcareous sand(FCS),the triaxial unconsolidated undrained(UU)test and scanning electron microscope tests(SEM)were carried out on it.The results of UU test show that the peak stress and energy dissipation of the FCS sample first increase and then decrease with the increase in fly ash content.Fly ash enhances the cement calcareous sand by increasing both the cohesion and internal friction angle,and adding 10%content of fly ash gives the largest values.The SEM test results shows that the hydration products of cement and fly ash filled the pores and cracks on the surface of the calcareous sand,which increased the compactness and structure of the FCS samples.The porosity of cement calcareous sand can be reduced from 27.6%to 12.8%by adding 10%fly ash.A brittleness evaluation index based on energy dissipation is proposed to quantitatively characterize the brittleness of FCS samples.The results show that when the content of fly ash is 5%,the brittleness of FCS samples is the lowest.This study shows that the mechanical properties of cement calcareous sand can be effectively enhanced by adding the appropriate amount of fly ash.Ben Li Na Li Chulei Fang Jun Hu Rong Yu Longxin Shu Kai Yao Fang Zhang 2022Journal of Renewable Materials2022,10,6:1

10A Novel Fluorescent Probe for ATP Detection Based on Synergetic Effect of Aggregation-induced Emission and Counterion Displacement显示文摘In this work,a fluorescent probe(TPEBe-I)was developed for adenosine triphosphate(ATP)detection based on the synergetic effect of aggregation-induced emission and counterion displacement.TPEBe-I gave weak emission in aqueous solution due to the heavy-atom effect of counter iodide ion.However,upon the addition of ATP,the new aggregate complex(TPEBe-ATP)was formed between the cationic unit of TPEBe-I and ATP through electrostatic interactions,which not only restricted the intramolecular motion of luminogen but also eliminated the quenching effect of iodide ion.As a result,the fluorescent light-up detection for ATP was successfully achieved.Moreover,TPEBe-I exhibited high selectivity towards ATP and showed a wide linear detection region towards the logarithm of ATP concentration(5—600µmol/L)with a detection limit of 1.0µmol/L,enabling TPEBe-I as a promising probe for ATP quantitative analysis.PAN Quan MA Feiyan PU Xinqing ZHAO Manyi WU Qiling ZHAO Na YANG Jun TANG Ben Zhong 2021Chemical Research in Chinese Universities2021,37,1:1

13Oxygen and sulfur-based pure n-electron dendrimeric systems:generation-dependent clusteroluminescence towards multicolor cell imaging and molecular ruler显示文摘Dendrimers,as the latest generation of artificial macromolecules,have aroused great attention in the field of clusteroluminescence owing to their unique structural and photophysical features.However,previously reported dendrimers with clusteroluminescenence property usually containπelectrons-involved carbonyl groups and/or environment-sensitive aliphatic amine moieties in their structures,thus complicating the interpretation of the emission process.On the other hand,a systematic investigation on the luminescence performance of dendrimers with diverse generations is significantly important for the researchers to gain further mechanistic insights into the clusteroluminescence,but has still been scarcely touched.In this contribution,we reported a series of oxygen and sulfur-based pure n-electron dendrimers with different generations from G1 to G3.Benefiting from the highly-branched three-dimensional crowded molecular structures,all these dendrimers exhibited bright fluorescence emission in visible light region due to their prominent clusteroluminescence property.Moreover,the fluorescence intensity and emission wavelength were simultaneously boosted as their generation increased due to the more crowded molecular architectures,as well as the formation of tighter and larger clusters at higher generation.Besides,these dendrimers also showed concentration-and aggregation-enhanced luminescence behaviors,presenting typical aggregation-induced emission(AIE)nature.Coupled with remarkable water solubility and biocompatibility as well as the excellent photostability,the G3 dendrimer selected as a representative was successfully applied in the multicolor cell imaging.In addition,the G3 dendrimer was also proved to be capable of acting as a molecular ruler to detect specific-sized molecule in aqueous solutions.This work not only validated the rationality of the clusteroluminescence mechanism but also offered high-performance clusteroluminogens for practical application.Zhijun Zhang Haoke Zhang Miaomiao Kang Na Li Dong Wang Ben Zhong Tang 2021Science China Chemistry2021,64,11:0
14Characterization of Mechanical Properties of Waste Slurry Modified by Recycled Sand and Cement显示文摘In order to study the modification effect of recycled sand on cement reinforced waste slurry(CWS),triaxial test,scanning electron microscope test and X-ray diffraction test were carried out.The mechanical test of recycled sand and cement reinforced waste slurry(RCWS)shows that the deviatoric stress–strain curve of RCWS samples changes from hardening type to softening type with the increase of recycled sand content;the peak stress increases with the increase of recycled sand content;recycled sand can enhance the shear strength of CWS by increasing both cohesion and internal friction angle.The microscopic test shows that recycled sand can improve the structural compactness by cementing with hydrated calcium silicate and can reduce the void ratio and orientation index of RCWS samples.Finally,the mathematical model between shear strength parameters and void ratio is established.The research shows that adding an appropriate amount of recycled sand and cement has a good modification effect on waste slurry.This is an effective method to treat two kinds of construction wastes:construction waste slurry and waste concrete.Beifeng Lv Na Li Haibo Kang Yanting Wu Ben Li Wei Wang 2022Journal of Renewable Materials2022,10,10:0
15Temporal patterns of algae in different urban lakes and their correlations with environmental variables in Xi’an,China显示文摘Urban lakes were critical in aquatic ecology environments,but how environmental factors affected the distribution and change characteristics of algal communities in urban lakes of Xi’an city was not clearly.Here,we investigated the algal community structure of six urban lakes in Xi’an and evaluated the effects of water quality parameters on algae.The results indicated that the significant differences on physicochemical parameters existed in different urban lakes.The maximum concentration of total phosphorus in urban lakes was(0.18±0.01)mg/L and there was a phenomenon of phosphorus limitation.In addition,51 genera of algae were identified and Chlorella sp.was the dominant algal species,which was affiliated with Chlorophyta.Network analysis elucidated that each lake had a unique algal community network and the positive correlation was dominant in the interaction between algae species,illustrating that mature microbial communities existed or occupied similar niches.Redundancy analysis illustrated that environmental factors explained 47.35% variance of algal species-water quality correlation collectively,indicating that water quality conditions had a significant influence on the temporal variations of algae.Structural equation model further verified that algal community structure was directly or indirectly regulated by different water quality conditions.Our study shows that temporal patterns of algal communities can reveal the dynamics and interactions of different urban ecosystem types,providing a theoretical basis for assessing eutrophication levels and for water quality management.Shengnan Chen Hanyan Liu Haihan Zhang Kai Li Na Wang Weimin Sun Xiang Liu Limin Niu Ben Ma Fan Yang Haiyun Li Daijuan Zhao Yan Xing 2023Journal of Environmental Sciences2023,,11:0

17Metabolic reprogramming of proinflammatory macrophages by target delivered roburic acid effectively ameliorates rheumatoid arthritis symptoms显示文摘Rheumatoid arthritis(RA)is a common chronic inflammatory disorder that usually affects joints.It was found that roburic acid(RBA),an ingredient from anti-RA herb Gentiana macrophylla Pall.,displayed strong anti-inflammatory activity.However,its medical application is limited by its hydrophobicity,lack of targeting capability and unclear functional mechanism.Here,we constructed a pH responsive dual-target drug delivery system hitchhiking RBA(RBA-NPs)that targeted both CD44 and folate receptors,and investigated its pharmacological mechanism.In rat RA model,the nanocarriers effectively delivered RBA to inflammatory sites and significantly enhanced the therapeutic outcomes compared with free RBA,as well as strongly reducing inflammatory cytokine levels and promoting tissue repair.Following analysis revealed that M1 macrophages in the joints were reprogrammed to M2 phenotype by RBA.Since the balance of pro-and anti-inflammatory macrophages play important roles in maintaining immune homeostasis and preventing excessive inflammation in RA,this reprogramming is likely responsible for the anti-RA effect.Furthermore,we revealed that RBA-NPs drove M1-to-M2 phenotypic switch by down-regulating the glycolysis level via blocking ERK/HIF-1α/GLUT1 pathway.Thus,our work not only developed a targeting delivery system that remarkably improved the anti-RA efficiency of RBA,but also identified a potential molecular target to reversely reprogram macrophages though energy metabolism regulation.Na Jia Yunzhen Gao Min Li Yi Liang Yuwen Li Yunzhu Lin Shiqi Huang Qing Lin Xun Sun Qin He Yuqin Yao Ben Zhang Zhirong Zhang Ling Zhang 2023Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2023,8,8:0
18Esterase-Activated Theranostic Prodrug for Dual Organelles-Targeted Imaging and Synergetic Chemo-Photodynamic Cancer Therapy显示文摘Activatable prodrugs have received considerable attention in cancer therapy due to their high specificity and reduced side effects.However,the theranostic prodrug with multiple cancerous organelles targeting and combinational therapy is still rare.In this report,an esterase-responsive prodrug tetraphenylethylene functionalized quinolinium-ester-chlorambucil(TPEQC)was developed for dual organelles-targeted and image-guided cancer therapy through synergetic chemotherapy(CT)and photodynamic therapy(PDT).TPE-QC was constructed by conjugating an anticancer drug of chlorambucil with an aggregation-induced emission active photosensitizer of tetraphenylethylene functionalized hydroxyethyl quinolinium(TPE-QO)via the hydrolyzable ester linkage.The fluorescence and photosensitization of TPE-QC were initially quenched because of the photoinduced electron transfer(PET)effect.After reacting with esterase,the ester group of TPE-QC could be selectively hydrolyzed to release chlorambucil and TPE-QO,which terminated the PET process and switched on the fluorescence and photosensitization.Benefitting from the overexpressed esterase in cancer cells,TPE-QC could be efficiently activated in cancer cells rather than in normal cells,while the restoredfluorescence could preciselymonitor the release of TPE-QC.Importantly,activated TPE-QC accumulated in both organelles of lysosome and mitochondria,resulting in enhanced anticancer potency.In vivo experiments demonstrated that TPE-QC displayed efficient tumor microenvironment-activatable features and excellent tumor therapeutic effects through combinational CT and PDT.Jiabao Zhuang Nan Li Yaling Zhang Baolin Li Hanqi Wen Xinchan Zhang Tianyu Zhang Na Zhao Ben Zhong Tang 2022CCS Chemistry2022,4,3:0
19Single-Crystalline Mesoporous Palladium and Palladium-Copper Nanocubes for Highly Efficient Electrochemical CO_(2) Reduction显示文摘Mesoporous single crystals have unique potential in catalysis,but remain unexplored owing to the enormous synthetic challenge that they pose.Herein,we report a facile soft-template method to prepare palladium(Pd)and Pd alloy nanocubes with single-crystallinity and abundant mesoporosity.The successful formation of these exotic nanostructures essentially relies on the cointroduction of cetyltrimethylammonium chloride as the surfactant template and extra Cl^(−) ions as the facet-selective capping agent under well controlled experimental conditions.Thanks to their large surface areas and penetrating mesoporous channels,our products exhibit a great performance for electrochemical CO_(2) reduction.The best sample from alloying palladium with copper enables the efficient formate production with high selectivity(90∼100%)over a broad potential range,and great stability even under the working potential as cathodic as −0.5 V versus a reversible hydrogen electrode.These performance metrics are far superior to previous Pd-based materials,and underscore the structural advantages of our products.Hao Lv Fang Lv Huaiyu Qin Xiaowen Min Lizhi Sun Na Han Dongdong Xu Yanguang Li Ben Liu 2022CCS Chemistry2022,4,4:0
