| 8 | Late-Quaternary Slip Rate and Seismic Activity of the Xianshuihe Fault Zone in Southwest China显示文摘The Xianshuihe fault zone is a seismo-genetic fault zone of left-lateral slip in Southwest China. Since 1725, a total of 59 Ms ≥ 5.0 earthquakes have occurred along this fault zone, including 18 Ms 6.0–6.9 and eight Ms ≥ 7.0 earthquakes. The seismic risk of the Xianshuihe fault zone is a large and realistic threat to the western Sichuan economic corridor. Based on previous studies, we carried out field geological survey and remote sensing interpretation in the fault zone. In addition, geophysical surveys, trenching and age-dating were conducted in the key parts to better understand the geometry, spatial distribution and activity of the fault zone. We infer to divide the fault zone into two parts: the northwest part and the southeast part, with total eight segments. Their Late Quaternary slip rates vary in a range of 11.5 mm/a –(3±1) mm/a. The seismic activities of the Xianshuihe fault zone are frequent and strong, periodical, and reoccurred. Combining the spatial and temporal distribution of the historical earthquakes, the seismic hazard of the Xianshuihe fault zone has been predicted by using the relationship between magnitude and frequency of earthquakes caused by different fault segments. The prediction results show that the segment between Daofu and Qianning has a possibility of Ms ≥ 7.0 earthquakes, while the segment between Shimian and Luding is likely to have earthquakes of about Ms 7.0. | 9 | Theoretical research on reservoir closed-loop production management显示文摘Closed-loop production management combines the process of history matching and production optimization together to peri-odically updates the reservoir model and determine the optimal control strategy for production development to realize the goal of decreasing the knowledge of model uncertainty as well as maximize the economic benefits for the expected reservoir life. The adjoint-gradient-based methods seem to be the most efficient algorithms for closed-loop management. Due to complicated calculation and limited availability of adjoint-gradient in commercial reservoir simulators, the application of this method is still prohibited for real fields. In this paper, a simultaneous perturbation stochastic approximation (SPSA) algorithm is proposed for reservoir closed-loop production management with the combination of a parameterization way for history matching and a co-variance matrix to smooth well controls for production optimization. By using a set of unconditional realizations, the proposed parameterization method can transform the minimization of the objective function in history matching from a higher dimension to a lower dimension, which is quite useful for large scale history matching problem. Then the SPSA algorithm minimizes the objective function iteratively to get an optimal estimate reservoir model. Based on a prior covariance matrix for production op-timization, the SPSA algorithm generates a smooth stochastic search direction which is always uphill and has a certain time correlation for well controls. The example application shows that the SPSA algorithm for closed-loop production management can decrease the geological uncertainty and provide a reasonable estimate reservoir model without the calculation of the ad-joint-gradient. | 10 | Relationship Between Measured Friction Coefficients and Two Tread Groove Design Parameters for Footwear Pads显示文摘The shoe sole geometrical design parameters are believed to be important factors affecting the coefficient of friction (COF) between the shoe/floor interface. This study is concerned with the relationship between the measured COF and the tread groove orientation and width on the footwear pad. Friction meas-urements using the Brungraber Mark Ⅱ slipmeter were conducted. Six tread groove width/orientations de-signs on the footwear pads under 27 footwear material/floor/contamination conditions were tested. The re-sults show that tread orientation and width affect the measured COF significantly. Wider grooved footwear pads result in higher COF values and footwear pads with tread grooves perpendicular to the friction meas-urement direction have higher COF values. A regression model using measured COF as the dependent variable and tread groove width, groove orientation, footwear material, floor, and contamination conditions as independent variables was established. | 12 | Microbial aerosol characteristics in highly polluted and nearpristine environments featuring different climatic conditions显示文摘There is an increasing interest in understanding ambient bioaerosols due to their roles both in health and in climate. Here, we deployed an Ultraviolet Aerodynamic Particle Sizer to monitor viable(fluorescent) bioaerosol concentration levels at city centers(highly polluted) and their corresponding suburbs(near pristine)(total 40 locations) in 11 provinces featuring different climate zones in China between July 16 and 28, 2013. The concentration levels of viable bioaerosol particles(Bio PM) of [0.5 lm were measured, and corresponding percentages of Bio PM%(biological fraction of total PM) and Bio PM2.5%(biological fraction of PM2.5) in particulate matter(PM)and Bio PM, respectively, were determined. For some key cities, indoor viable bioaerosol levels were also obtained.In addition, bacterial structures of the air samples collected across these monitoring locations were studied using pyrosequencing. Bio PM concentration levels ranged from2.1 9 104 to 2.4 9 105/m3 for city centers [Bio PM% =6.4 %(±6.3 %)] and 0.5 9 104 to 4.7 9 105/m3 for suburbs [Bio PM% = 10 %(±8.7 %)]. Distinctive bioaerosol size distribution patterns were observed for different climate zones, e.g., some had fluorescence peaks at 3 lm, while the majority had peaks at 1 lm. Ambient bacterial aerosol community structures were also found different for different geophysical locations. Results suggest that there was a poor overall relationship between PM and Bio PM across 40 monitoring locations(R2= 0.081, two-tailed P value =0.07435). Generally, city centers had higher PM concentrations than suburbs, but not Bio PM and Bio PM%. Indoor bioaerosol levels were found at least tenfold higher than those corresponding outdoors. | 13 | Apatinib, a selective VEGFR2 inhibitor, improves the delivery of chemotherapeutic agents to tumors by normalizing tumor vessels in LoVo colon cancer xenograft mice显示文摘Tumor vascular normalization has been proposed as a therapeutic strategy for malignant neoplasms, which can also interpret the synergistic effect of anti-angiogenesis agents combined with chemotherapy. Apatinib (Apa), a highly selective VEGFR2 inhibitor, attracts much attentions due to its encouraging anticancer activity, especially in the clinical trials of combined treatment. In this study, we investigated whether Apa could promote vascular normalization in tumor in a certain time window. Mice bearing LoVo colon cancer xenograft were orally administrated Apa (150 mg kg^-1 per day) for 5, 7, 10, or 12 days. Apa significantly inhibited tumor growth and decreased the microvessel density. Using multi-photon microscopy and electron microscopy, we found that Apa improved tumor vessel morphology by pruning distorted vessel branches and decreased the gap between endothelial cells after a 7-day treatment. Furthermore, Apa decreased vessel leakage and in creased pericyte coverage on vascular en dothelial cells, suggesting that tumor vessels were more mature and integrated. The intratumoral distribution of adriamycin (ADR) in Apa group was improved from day 7 to 10 without change in plasma drug concen tration. Tumor blood perfusion was also in creased in this window, and the expression of hypoxia induced factor 1a was downregulated, suggesting the effect of Apa on alleviating tumor hypoxic micro-e nvironme nt. In conclusi on, Apa may improve the effective perfusi on of tumor vessels and in crease the intratumoral distribution of ADR in a certain time window via normalizing tumor vessels. This paper overviews various optically pumped THz sources, including femtosecond laser based ultrafast broadband THz generation, monochromatic widely tunable THz generation, single-mode on-chip THz source from photomixing, and the traditional powerful THz gas lasers. Full descriptions from basic principles to the latest progress are presented and their advantages and disadvantages are discussed as well. | 15 | The gut microbial metabolite, 3,4-dihydroxyphenylpropionic acid, alleviates hepatic ischemia/reperfusion injury via mitigation of macrophage pro-inflammatory activity in mice显示文摘Hepatic ischemia/reperfusion injury(HIRI) is a serious complication that occurs following shock and/or liver surgery. Gut microbiota and their metabolites are key upstream modulators of development of liver injury. Herein, we investigated the potential contribution of gut microbes to HIRI.Ischemia/reperfusion surgery was performed to establish a murine model of HIRI. 16 S r RNA gene sequencing and metabolomics were used for microbial analysis. Transcriptomics and proteomics analysis were employed to study the host cell responses. Our results establish HIRI was significantly increased when surgery occurred in the evening(ZT12, 20:00) when compared with the morning(ZT0, 08:00);however, antibiotic pretreatment reduced this diurnal variation. The abundance of a microbial metabolite3,4-dihydroxyphenylpropionic acid was significantly higher in ZT0 when compared with ZT12 in the gut and this compound significantly protected mice against HIRI. Furthermore, 3,4-dihydroxyphenylpropionic acid suppressed the macrophage pro-inflammatory response in vivo and in vitro. This metabolite inhibits histone deacetylase activity by reducing its phosphorylation. Histone deacetylase inhibition suppressed macrophage pro-inflammatory activation and diminished the diurnal variation of HIRI. Our findings revealed a novel protective microbial metabolite against HIRI in mice. | 16 | Growth differentiation factor-15 combined with N-terminal prohormone of brain natriuretic peptide increase 1-year prognosis prediction value for patients with acute heart failure: a prospective cohort study显示文摘Background:Clinical assessment and treatment guidance for heart failure depends on a variety of biomarkers.The objective of this study was to investigate the prognostic predictive value of growth differentiation factor-15(GDF-15)and N-terminal prohormone of brain natriuretic peptide(NT-proBNP)in assessing hospitalized patients with acute heart failure(AHF).Methods:In total,260 patients who were admitted for AHF in the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing Medical University were enrolled from April 2012 to May 2016.Medical history and blood samples were collected within 24 h after the admission.The primary endpoint was the all-cause mortality within 1 year.The patients were divided into survival group and death group based on the endpoint.With established mortality risk factors and serum GDF-15 level,receiver-operator characteristic(ROC)analyses were performed.Cox regression analyses were used to further analyze the combination values of NT-proBNP and GDF-15.Results:Baseline GDF-15 and NT-proBNP were significantly higher amongst deceased than those in survivors(P<0.001).In ROC analyses,area under curve(AUC)for GDF-15 to predict 1-year mortality was 0.707(95%confidence interval[CI]:0.648–0.762,P<0.001),and for NT-proBNP was 0.682(95%CI:0.622–0.738,P<0.001).No statistically significant difference was found between the two markers(P=0.650).Based on the optimal cut-offs(GDF-15:4526.0 ng/L;NT-proBNP:1978.0 ng/L),the combination of GDF-15 and NT-proBNP increased AUC for 1-year mortality prediction(AUC=0.743,95%CI:0.685–0.795,P<0.001).Conclusions:GDF-15,as a prognostic marker in patients with AHF,is not inferior to NT-proBNP.Combining the two markers could provide an early recognition of high-risk patients and improve the prediction values of AHF long-term prognosis.Clinical trial registration:ChiCTR-ONC-12001944,http://www.chictr.org.cn. | Ji Hao Iokfai Cheang Li Zhang Kai Wang Hui-Min Wang Qian-Yun Wu Yan-Li Zhou Fang Zhou Dong-Jie Xu Hai-Feng Zhang Wen-Ming Yao Xin-Li Li | 2019 | Chinese Medical Journal2019,,19: | 8 |

| 18 | Rock-soil slope stability analysis by two-phase random media and finite elements显示文摘To investigate the strong random nature of the geometric interfaces between soil and rock, a rock-soil slope is considered as a two-phase random medium. A nonlinear translation of a Gaussian field is utilized to simulate the two-phase random media, such that the soil(or rock) volume fraction and the inclination of the soil layer can be examined. The finite element method with random media incorporated as the material properties is used to determine the factor of safety of the rock-soil slope. Monte-Carlo simulations are used to estimate the statistical characteristics of the factor of safety. The failure mode of the rock-soil slope is examined by observing the maximum principal plastic strain at incipient slope failure. It is found that the critical surface of a rock-soil slope is fairly irregular, and it significantly differs from that of a pure soil slope. The factor of safety is sensitive to the soil volume faction, but it is predictable. The average factor of safety could be well predicted by the weighted harmonic average between the strength of soil and rock; the prediction model is practical and simple. | 20 | A novel cooperative mid-course guidance scheme for multiple intercepting missiles显示文摘In the interception engagement,if the target movement information is not accurate enough for the mid-course guidance of intercepting missiles,the interception mission may fail as a result of large handover errors.This paper proposes a novel cooperative mid-course guidance scheme for multiple missiles to intercept a target under the condition of large detection errors.Under this scheme,the launch and interception moments are staggered for different missiles.The earlier launched missiles can obtain a relatively accurate detection to the target during their terminal guidance,based on which the latter missiles are permitted to eliminate the handover error in the mid-course guidance.A significant merit of this scheme is that the available resources are fully exploited and less missiles are needed to achieve the interception mission.To this end,first,the design of cooperative handover parameters is formulated as an optimization problem.Then,an algorithm based on Monte Carlo sampling and stochastic approximation is proposed to solve this optimization problem,and the convergence of the algorithm is proved as well.Finally,simulation experiments are carried out to validate the effectiveness of the proposed cooperative scheme and algorithm. | Long WANG Yu YAO Fenghua HE Kai LIU | 2017 | Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2017,30,3: | 7 |
