1Interfacial mechanisms of heterogeneous Fenton reactions catalyzed by iron-based materials: A review显示文摘The heterogeneous Fenton reaction can generate highly reactive hydroxyl radicals(·OH)from reactions between recyclable solid catalysts and H_2O_2 at acidic or even circumneutral pH.Hence,it can effectively oxidize refractory organics in water or soils and has become a promising environmentally friendly treatment technology.Due to the complex reaction system,the mechanism behind heterogeneous Fenton reactions remains unresolved but fascinating,and is crucial for understanding Fenton chemistry and the development and application of efficient heterogeneous Fenton technologies.Iron-based materials usually possess high catalytic activity,low cost,negligible toxicity and easy recovery,and are a superior type of heterogeneous Fenton catalysts.Therefore,this article reviews the fundamental but important interfacial mechanisms of heterogeneous Fenton reactions catalyzed by iron-based materials..OH,hydroperoxyl radicals/superoxide anions(HO_2./O_2^-.)and high-valent iron are the three main types of reactive oxygen species(ROS),with different oxidation reactivity and selectivity.Based on the mechanisms of ROS generation,the interfacial mechanisms of heterogeneous Fenton systems can be classified as the homogeneous Fenton mechanism induced by surface-leached iron,the heterogeneous catalysis mechanism,and the heterogeneous reaction-induced homogeneous mechanism.Different heterogeneous Fenton systems catalyzed by characteristic iron-based materials are comprehensively reviewed.Finally,related future research directions are also suggested.Jie He Xiaofang Yang Bin Men Dongsheng Wang 2016Journal of Environmental Sciences2016,28,1:36
2Relationship between heavy metals and dissolved organic matter released from sediment by bioturbation/bioirrigation显示文摘Organic matter(OM) is an important component of sediment. Bioturbation/bioirrigation can remobilize OM and heavy metals that were previously buried in the sediment. The remobilization of buried organic matter, thallium(Tl), cadmium(Cd), copper(Cu) and zinc(Zn) from sediment was studied in a laboratory experiment with three organisms: tubificid,chironomid larvae and loach. Results showed that bioturbation/bioirrigation promoted the release of dissolved organic matter(DOM) and dissolved Tl, Cd, Cu and Zn, but only dissolved Zn concentrations decreased with exposure time in overlying water. The presence of organisms altered the compositions of DOM released from sediment,considerably increasing the percentage of fulvic acid-like materials(FA) and humic acidlike materials(HA). In addition, bioturbation/bioirrigation accelerated the growth and reproduction of bacteria to enhance the proportion of soluble microbial byproduct-like materials(SMP). The DOM was divided into five regions in the three-dimensional excitation emission matrix(3 D-EEM), and each part had different correlation with the dissolved heavy metal concentrations. 7Facile synthesis of graphene-based hyper-crosslinked porous carbon composite with superior adsorption capability for chlorophenols显示文摘In this work,we proposed a green and cost-effective method to prepare a graphene-based hyper-cross-linked porous carbon composite(GN/HCPC)by one-pot carbonization of hyper-cross-linked polymer(HCP)and glucose.The composite combined the advantages of graphene(GN)and hyper-cross-linked porous carbon(HCPC),leading to high specific surface area(396.93 m^2/g)and large total pore volume(0.413 cm^3/g).The resulting GN/HCPC composite was applied as an adsorbent to remove 2,4-dichlorophenol(2,4-DCP)from aqueous solutions.The influence of different solution conditions including pH,ionic strength,contact time,system temperature and concentration of humic acid was determined.The maximum adsorption capacity of GN/HCPC composite(calculated by the Langmuir model)could reach 348.43 mg/g,which represented increases of 43.6%and 13.6%over those of the as-prepared pure GN and HCPC,respectively.The Langmuir model and pseudo-second-order kinetic model were found to fit well with the adsorption process.Thermodynamic experiments suggested that the adsorption proceeded spontaneously and endothermically.In addition,the GN/HCPC composite showed high adsorption performance toward other organic contaminants including tetracycline,bisphenol A and phenol.Measurement of the adsorption capability of GN/HCPC in secondary effluent revealed a slight decrease over that in pure water solution.This study demonstrated that the GN/HCPC composite can be utilized as a practical and efficient adsorbent for the removal of organic contaminants in wastewater.Yanyang Liu Bin Men Aibin Hu Qingliang You Guiying Liao Dongsheng Wang 2020Journal of Environmental Sciences2020,32,4:1

9Microbial and metabolomic mechanisms mediating the effects of dietary inulin and cellulose supplementation on porcine oocyte and uterine development显示文摘Background:Dietary fiber(DF)is often eschewed in swine diet due to its anti-nutritional effects,but DF is attracting growing attention for its reproductive benefits.The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of DF intake level on oocyte maturation and uterine development,to determine the optimal DF intake for gilts,and gain microbial and metabolomic insight into the underlying mechanisms involved.Methods:Seventy-six Landrace×Yorkshire(LY)crossbred replacement gilts of similar age(92.6±0.6 d;mean±standard deviation[SD])and body weight(BW,33.8±3.9 kg;mean±SD)were randomly allocated to 4 dietary treatment groups(n=19);a basal diet without extra DF intake(DF 1.0),and 3 dietary groups ingesting an extra50%(DF 1.5),75%(DF 1.75),and 100%(DF 2.0)dietary fiber mixture consisting of inulin and cellulose(1:4).Oocyte maturation and uterine development were assessed on 19 d of the 2nd oestrous cycle.Microbial diversity of faecal samples was analysed by high-throughput pyrosequencing(16S r RNA)and blood samples were subjected to untargeted metabolomics.Results:The rates of oocytes showing first polar bodies after in vitro maturation for 44 h and uterine development increased linearly with increasing DF intake;DF 1.75 gilts had a 19.8%faster oocyte maturation rate and a 48.9 cm longer uterus than DF 1.0 gilts(P<0.05).Among the top 10 microbiota components at the phylum level,8increased linearly with increasing DF level,and the relative abundance of 30 of 53 microbiota components at the genus level(>0.1%)increased linearly or quadratically with increasing DF intake.Untargeted metabolic analysis revealed significant changes in serum metabolites that were closely associated with microbiota,including serotonin,a gut-derived signal that stimulates oocyte maturation.Conclusions:The findings provide evidence of the benefits of increased DF intake by supplementing inulin and cellulose on oocyte maturation and uterine development in gilts,and new microbial and metabolomic insight into the mechanisms mediating the effects of DF on reproductive performance of replacement gilts.Zhaoyue Men Meng Cao Yuechan Gong Lun Hua Ruihao Zhang Xin Zhu Lianchao Tang Xuemei Jiang Shengyu Xu Jian Li Lianqiang Che Yan Lin Bin Feng Zhengfeng Fang De Wu Yong Zhuo 2022Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2022,13,3:1
10Formation of groundwater-induced damage in Zhu Yuelian’s tomb and protection methods显示文摘Zhu Yuelian’s tomb has been exposed to groundwater for many years,and this exposure has caused many defects,including erosion,encrustation,patina,and spot marks related to groundwater,seriously affecting the artistic and ornamental value of cultural relics.In this study,high-density microelectrode spacing resistivity and ultrasonic transverse wave reflection were used to detect hidden damage in the burial chamber,and the results revealed hidden damage,corrosion,cracks,and pores in the surrounding geological body,concealed cracks in the sidewalls,and internal defects in the columns.An outdoor high-density resistivity test and hydrological observation experiment indicated that the tomb is located in a weakly permeable aquifer,and the groundwater head has been higher than the bottom of the tomb for many years.Natural groundwater flows from northeast to southwest in the aquifer,and the tomb forms an artificial concave cone,causing groundwater around the area to continually flow into the tomb.A chemical composition analysis of the groundwater and scale revealed that the groundwater within the tomb area is slightly corrosive,and the groundwater seepage along the fissures of the compacted layer induces damage.The threedimensional(3D)seepage numerical simulation results indicated that the combined use of drainage and impervious curtains can cause the water head in the curtain to drop significantly and control the water head to be lower than 8 m from the bottom floor of the tomb,meeting the requirements for seepage prevention and protection of the tomb without long-term maintenance.LI Bin MEN YeKai ZHAO Gang WANG EnDe 2023Science China(Technological Sciences)2023,66,8:0
11Carbon fiber cannot always reduce the wear of PEEK for orthopedic implants under DPPC lubrication显示文摘Excellent wear resistance is an important feature of orthopedic implants.However,although pure polyetheretherketone(PEEK)is outperformed by carbon fiber-reinforced PEEK(CF-PEEK)for stability and durability under laboratory conditions,it is not clear whether CF-PEEK should be preferred in all real-world applications.Results indicate that,under dipalmitoylphosphatidylcholine(DPPC)lubrication,the wear rates of PEEK are 35%-80%lower than the wear rates of CF-PEEK for different implant materials,speeds,loadings,and DPPC concentrations.Molecular dynamics calculations confirm that DPPC self-assembles on the PEEK surface to form an easily adsorbed continuous phospholipid lubricating film.In contrast,the carbon fibers on the CF-PEEK surface hinder the formation of the protective DPPC film and the CF-PEEK surface is thus subject to faster wear.Shuai YAN Shichao MEN Hongbo ZOU Haoji WANG Zhongjiang ZHANG Chunshen WANG Tianyi SUI Bin LIN 2023Friction2023,11,3:0

13Phenanthrene sorption to environmental black carbon in sediments from the Song-Liao watershed(China)显示文摘Black carbon(BC)in ten contaminated sediments from the Song-Liao watershed,NE China,was isolated upon treatments using a combustion method at 375℃,and the isolates’sorption isotherms for phenanthrene(Phen)were determined.All sorption isotherms were nonlinear and fitted well by the Freundlich model.A negative relation was found between Freundlich sorption nonlinearity parameter(n values)and BC/total organic carbon(TOC)content of the original sediments(r^(2)=0.687,p<0.01),indicating the dominance of BC in Phen sorption nonlinearity.The BC isolates from this industrialized region had n values of 0.342 to 0.505 and logKFOC values of 6.02 to 6.42(μg·kg^(–1)·OC^(–1))/(μg·L^(–1))n for Phen.At a given Ce,the BC had higher Koc value than the original sediments,revealing a higher sorption capacity for BC.BC was responsible for 50.0%to 87.3%of the total sorption at Ce=0.05 Sw,clearly indicating the dominance of BC particles in overall sorption of Phen by sediments.Jinghuan ZHANG Mengchang HE Chunye LIN Ke SUN Bin MEN John L.ZHOU 2009Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2009,3,4:0
14乳腺癌细胞药耐中P38MAPK活性与凋亡关系的实验研究(英文)显示文摘Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between p38MAPK activity and apoptosis during the drug resistance of breast carcinoma cell lines. Methods: Using p38MAPK special inhibitor SB203580 to analyze the effect on the cell apoptosis of MCF-7/ADM cell. Cell apoptosis was analysed by PI staining and flow cytometry (FCM) (F test). 50% inhibition concentration (IC50) of adriamycin on MCF-7/ADM was determined by MTT method (F test) in vitro. MDR-1 mRNA expression was detected by RT-PCR (F test) and Western Blot (F test) respectively. Results: After SB203580 24 h action the MCF-7/ADM’s apoptosis rate was 26.73 ± 4.90%, higher than the control group and untreated group (F = 143.80, P < 0.001). The sensitity to the ADM was improved significantly (F = 148927.1, P < 0.001), and the reversal effect of treat SB203580 group was 68.45%. The P38MAPK protein (F= 685.419, P < 0.001) and MDR-1 mRNA expression after SB203580 24 h action were lower than the control group and untreated group (F = 9139.24, P < 0.001). 15Statistics of the Instability Strip of β Cephei Stars显示文摘We present a study of theβ Cephei instability strip based on a sampleof 49 stars of this type. After deriving their effective temperatures and luminositiesfrom their observed (B - V), (U - B) colors and parallaxes we find their positionsin the HR diagram to be mostly confined to the main sequence, and their massesto lie between 7 M and 30 M . 16On-line batch production of ferrate with an chemical method and its potential application for greywater recycling with Al(Ⅲ) salt显示文摘Ferrate(Ⅵ ) salt is an oxidant and coagulant for water and wastewater treatment. It is considered as a possible alternative method in greywater treatment. However, challenges have existed in putting ferrate(Ⅵ ) technology into full-scale practice in water and wastewater treatment due to the instability of ferrate solution and high production cost of solid ferrate products. This study demonstrated a new approach of greywater treatment with on-line batch production of Fe(Ⅵ ) to which Fe(Ⅲ ) salt was oxidized at a weak acidity solution. A series of experiments were conducted to investigate the effect of Fe(Ⅵ ) on light greywater(total organic carbon(TOC) = 19.5 mg/L) and dark greywater(TOC = 55 mg/L)treatment under different conditions with varying p H and Fe(Ⅵ ) doses. In addition, the combination use of Fe(Ⅵ ) and Al(Ⅲ ) salts was proved to be more efficient than using the Fe(Ⅵ ) salts alone at greywater recycling. The optimum dosage of Fe(Ⅵ )/Al(Ⅲ ) salts was 25/25 mg/L for light greywater, 90/60 mg/L for dark greywater, respectively. The TOC values of both light greywater and dark greywater were reduced to less than 3 mg/L with the dosages.The cost for treating greywater was 0.06–0.2 $/ton at ferrate(Ⅵ ) dosage of 25–90 mg/L and0.008–0.024 $/ton at AlCl_3 dosage of 25–60 mg/L.
