2Control of a Spherical Robot: Path Following Based on Nonholonomic Kinematics and Dynamics显示文摘This paper presents the controller design for the path following of a spherical mobile robot,BHQ-1.Firstly,a desired velocity for the reference path is deduced from the kinematic model,which cannot be transformed into the classic chained form.Secondly,a necessary torque for the desired velocity is obtained based on the dynamic model.As to the kinematics,a one-dimensional function is selected to measure the two-directional tracking error,and the velocity of rolling forward is reasonably assumed to be constant;therefore the multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system is transformed into a single-input single-output (SISO) system.As to the dynamics,both exact dynamics and inexact dynamics with modeling error as well as bounded unknown disturbance are taken into account,based on which a proportional-derivative (PD) controller and a sliding mode controller with adaptive parameters are proposed respectively.Finally,convergence analysis and simulation results are provided to validate these controllers.ZHENG Minghui ZHAN Qiang LIU Jinkun CAI Yao 2011Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2011,24,3:6
3Enhanced tensile properties of a reversion annealed 6.5Mn-TRIP alloy via tailoring initial microstructure and cold rolling reduction显示文摘The feasibility of improving the overall performance of medium Mn steels was demonstrated via tailoring the initial microstructure and cold rolling reduction.The combined effects of cooling patterns after hot rolling(HR) and cold rolling(CR) reductions show:(1) as the cooling pattern varied from furnace cooling(FC) to oil quenching(OQ),the intercritically annealed microstructure was dramatically refined and the fraction of recrystallized ferrite dropped,regardless of CR reductions.This resulted in both high yield/ultimate tensile strengths(YS/UTS) but low total elongation to fracture(El);(2) as the CR reduction increased from 50% to 75%,the OQ-samples after annealing exhibited a more refined microstructure with relatively higher fractions of retained austenite and sub-structure,leading to higher YS and UTS but lower El; whereas the FC samples appeared to exhibit little difference in overall tensile properties in both cases.The differences in microstructural evolution with cooling patterns and CR reductions were explained by the calculated accumulated effective strain(εAES),which was considered to be related to degrees of recovery and recrystallization of the deformed martensite(α').The optimal tensile properties of ~1 GPa YS and ~40 GPa·% UTS×El were achieved in the OQ-50%CR annealed samples at 650?C for 1 h.This was quite beneficial to large-scale production of ultra-high strength steels,owing to its serious springback during heavy cold working.Minghui Cai Hongshou Huang Junhua Su Hua Ding Peter D.Hodgson 2018Journal of Materials Science & Technology2018,34,8:5
4Spatial and temporal variability of colored dissolved organic matter absorption properties in the Taiwan Strait显示文摘Spatial and temporal variability of the absorption properties of colored dissolved organic matter (CDOM) in the Taiwan Strait was investigated in summer (July to August of 2006) and winter (from December 2006 to January of 2007) seasons. The CDOM absorption coefficient at 280 nm (a 280 ) showed a decreasing trend from nearshore to offshore areas while the spectral slope coefficient parameter calculated between wavelengths 275-295 nm (S 275 295 ) showed an increase, indicative of decreasing aromaticity and molecular weight of the CDOM. The average a 280 in winter (1.47 ± 0.50 m 1 ) was significantly higher than in summer (1.10 ± 0.41 m 1 ), while the average S 275 295 in winter (26.7 ± 5.2 μm 1 ) was significantly lower than in summer (30.6 ± 5.5 μm 1 ), demonstrating clear seasonal variation in CDOM abundance and properties in the Taiwan Strait. A three-end- member conservative mixing model showed that local terrestrial CDOM inputs from several rivers along the western coast were small (<5%). However, the distribution of CDOM in the Taiwan Strait is mainly controlled by water mass movement [i.e., the Zhe-min Coastal Current (ZCC) and the Kuroshio Branch Current (KBC) in winter and the South China Sea Water (SCSW) in summer]. 52024 Adult Compendium of Physical Activities:A third update of the energy costs of human activities显示文摘Background:The Compendium of Physical Activities was published in 1993 to improve the comparability of energy expenditure values assigned to self-reported physical activity(PA)across studies.The original version was updated in 2000,and again in 2011,and has been widely used to support PA research,practice,and public health guidelines.Methods:This 2024 update was tailored for adults 19-59 years of age by removing data from those≥60 years.Using a systematic review and supplementary searches,we identified new activities and their associated measured metabolic equivalent(MET)values(using indirect calorimetry)published since 2011.We replaced estimated METs with measured values when possible.Results:We screened 32,173 abstracts and 1507 full-text papers and extracted 2356 PA energy expenditure values from 701 papers.We added303 new PAs and adjusted 176 existing MET values and descriptions to reflect the addition of new data and removal of METs for older adults.We added a Major Heading(Video Games).The 2024 Adult Compendium includes 1114 PAs(912 with measured and 202 with estimated values)across 22 Major Headings.Conclusion:This comprehensive update and refinement led to the creation of The 2024 Adult Compendium,which has utility across research,public health,education,and healthcare domains,as well as in the development of consumer health technologies.The new website with the complete lists of PAs and supporting resources is available at https://pacompendium.com.Stephen D.Herrmann Erik A.Willis Barbara E.Ainsworth Tiago V.Barreira Mary Hastert Chelsea L.Kracht John M.Schuna Jr. Zhenghui Cai Minghui Quan Catrine Tudor-Locke Melicia C.Whitt-Glover David R. 6Older Adult Compendium of Physical Activities:Energy costs of human activities in adults aged 60 and older显示文摘Purpose:To describe the development of a Compendium for estimating the energy costs of activities in adults>60 years(OA Compendium).Methods:Physical activities(PAs)and their metabolic equivalent of task(MET)values were obtained from a systematic search of studies published in 4 sport and exercise databases(PubMed,Embase,SPORTDiscus(EBSCOhost),and Scopus)and a review of articles included in the 2011 Adult Compendium that measured PA in older adults.MET values were computed as the oxygen cost(VO_(2),mL/kg/min)during PA divided by 2.7 m L/kg/min(MET_(60+))to account for the lower resting metabolic rate in older adults.Results:We identified 68 articles and extracted energy expenditure data on 427 PAs.From these,we derived 99 unique Specific Activity codes with corresponding MET_(60+)values for older adults.We developed a website to present the OA Compendium MET_(60+)values:https://pacompendium.com.Conclusion:The OA Compendium uses data collected from adults>60 years for more accurate estimation of the energy cost of PAs in older adults.It is an accessible resource that will allow researchers,educators,and practitioners to find MET_(60+)values for older adults for use in PA research and practice.Erik A.Willis Stephen D.Herrmann Mary Hastert Chelsea L.Kracht Tiago V.Barreira John M.Schuna Jr. Zhenghua Cai Minghui Quan Scott A.Conger Wendy J.Brown Barbara E.Ainsworth 2024Journal of Sport and Health Science2024,13,1:3
7Effect of silicon and prior deformation of austenite on isothermal transformation in low carbon steels显示文摘Isothermal transformation(TTT) behavior of the low carbon steels with two Si con-tents(0.50 wt pct and 1.35 wt pct) was investigated with and without the prior deformation.The results show that Si and the prior deformation of the austenite have significant effects on the transformation of the ferrite and bainite.The addition of Si refines the ferrite grains,accelerates the polygonal ferrite transformation and the formation of M/A constituents,leading to the improvement of the strength.The ferrite grains formed under the prior deformation of the austenite become more ho-mogeneous and refined.However,the influence of deformation on the tensile strength of both steels is dependent on the isothermal temperatures.Thermodynamic calcu-lation indicates that Si and prior deformation reduce the incubation time of both ferrite and bainite transformation,but the effect is weakened by the decrease of the isothermal temperatures.Minghui CAI Hua DING Jiansu ZHANG Long LI 2009Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)2009,22,2:2
8Versatile Graphene-Isolated AuAg-Nanocrystal for Multiphase Analysis and Multimodal Cellular Raman Imaging显示文摘Surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy(SERS)-based bioanalytical technique involves the interaction of SERS-active substrate with complex environment,which has aroused intensive research interests.Compared to the commonly used Au SERS substrates,Ag nanocrystals have larger optical absorption cross section and acceptable price,but they possess poor oxidation resistance and potential biotoxicity,and the occurrence of unnecessary chemical reactions is inevitable due to the direct contact with probe molecules.Herein,we report a graphene-isolated AuAg nanocrystal(GIAAN)with the SERS-active AuAg core confined in a nanospace of few-layer graphene shell,which possesses unique Raman peaks,high SERS activity,excellent stability,superior fluorescence quenching performance and good biocompatibility.Based on the limited solubility of GIAAN in water and organic solvents,it is able to spontaneously generate interfacial self-assembled GIAAN(ISA-GIAAN)film at immiscible two-phase interfaces without any inducer,and multiphase Raman analysis of both water-and lipid-soluble drug model molecules is further achieved.Moreover,the GIAAN is further non-covalently functionalized with polyoxyethylenestearyl ether(C18-PEG)to acquire GIAAN@PEG with good water-solubility for SERS quantitative analysis in homogeneous system and multimodal Raman imaging of MCF-7 cells.We expect the versatile GIAAN holds great potential to monitor drug metabolism and guide intended drug delivery in clinic trials.Shengkai Li Zhaotian Zhu Xinqi Cai Minghui Song Shen Wang Qing Hao Long Chen Zhuo Chen 2021Chinese Journal of Chemistry2021,39,6:2

13Pervasive hybridization during evolutionary radiation of Rhododendron subgenus Hymenanthes in mountains of southwest China显示文摘Radiations are especially important for generating species biodiversity in mountainous ecosystems.The contribution of hybridization to such radiations has rarely been examined.Here,we use extensive genomic data to test whether hybridization was involved in evolutionary radiation within Rhododendron subgenus Hymenanthes,whose members show strong geographic isolation in the mountains of southwest China.We sequenced genomes for 143 species of this subgenus and 93 species of four other subgenera,and found that Hymenanthes was monophyletic and radiated during the late Oligocene to middle Miocene.Widespread hybridization events were inferred within and between the identified clades and subclades.This suggests that hybridization occurred both early and late during diversification of subgenus Hymenan thes,although the extent to which hybridization,speciation through mixing-isolation-mixing or hybrid speciation,accelerated the diversification needs further exploration.Cycles of isolation and contact in such and other montane ecosystems may have together promoted species radiation through hybridization between diverging populations and species.Similar radiation processes may apply to other montane floras in this region and elsewhere.Yazhen Ma Xingxing Mao Ji Wang Lei Zhang Yuanzhong Jiang Yuying Geng Tao Ma Liming Cai Shuangquan Huang Pete Hollingsworth Kangshan Mao Minghui Kang Yiling Li Wenlu Yang Haolin Wu Yang Chen Charles C.Davis Nawal Shrestha Richard H.Ree Zhenxiang Xi Quanjun Hu Richard I.Milne Jianquan Liu 2022National Science Review2022,9,12:1

15Mechanism and operation parameters of a plasma-driven micro-particle accelerator显示文摘There is a large amount of micro debris ranging between millimeters and micrometers in space, which has significant influence on the reliability and life of spacecrafts through long-duration integrated impacts and has to be considered in designing a vehicle's suitability to the space environment. In order to simulate the micro-impacts on exposed materials, a plasma-driven micro-particle accelerator was developed. The major processes, including the acceleration, compression and ejection of plasmas, were modeled. By comparing the theoretical simulations with the experimental results, the acceleration mechanism was clarified. 16Two new upper bounds of the solution for the continuous algebraic Riccati equation and their application显示文摘In this paper, for the solution of the continuous algebraic Riccati equation(CARE), we derived two new upper matrix bounds. Compared with the existing results, the newly obtained bounds are less conservative and more practical, which means that the condition for the existence of the upper bounds derived here is much weaker. The advantage of the results is shown by theoretical analysis and numerical examples. 17The Effects of Redundant Control Inputs in Finite-Time Optimal Control显示文摘This paper is concerned with the effects of redundant control inputs on the quadratic optimal performance index in finite-time optimal control.Actually,the effects of redundant control input on quadratic performance index is equal to study the effects of the redundant control input on the solution of Riccati differential equation(RDE).Hence,some sufficient conditions are presented to strictly decrease the solution of RDE with the column of input matrix increased.Especially,a necessary and sufficient condition is derived to strictly decrease the solution of the homogeneous RDE after control input extensions.Moreover,one sufficient condition is obtained,which guarantees that the minimum control energy index strictly decreases with input extension.It is shown that redundant control inputs can improve the system performance based on these results.Some examples are taken to illustrate the effectiveness of related problems.XIA Yaping CAI Chenxiao YIN Minghui ZOU Yun 2016Journal of Systems Science & Complexity2016,29,6:1
