| 1 | Biomass-derived nitrogen-doped hierarchical porous carbon as efficient sulfur host for lithium–sulfur batteries显示文摘Lithium-sulfur(Li-S) battery is a potential energy storage technology with high energy density and low cost. However, the gap between theoretical expectation and practical performance limits its wide implementation. Herein, we report a nitrogen-doped porous carbon derived from biomass pomelo peel as sulfur host material for Li-S batteries. The hierarchical porous architecture and the polar surface introduced by N-doping render a favorable combination of physical and chemical sulfur confinements as well as an expedite electron/ion transfer, thus contributing to a facilitated and stabilized sulfur electrochemistry. As a result, the corresponding sulfur composite electrodes exhibit an ultrahigh initial capacity of 1534.6 mAh g^-1, high coulombic efficiency over 98% upon 300 cycles, and decent rate capability up to 2 C. | 2 | Toxicity of the brominated flame retardant tris-(2,3-dibromopropyl) isocyanurate in zebrafish (Danio rerio)显示文摘Tris-(2,3-dibromopropyl) isocyanurate (TBC) is a heterocyclic brominated flame retardant that was recently detected in the environment in China.TBC is semi-volatile and can accumulate in the lipid of some species,but little is known about its effect on aquatic organisms.We exposed adult zebrafish to 0,0.25,1 and 4mg/L TBC for 28 d and measured the effect on survival,growth,histopathology,hormone levels,enzyme activity,and gene expression.TBC exposure had no effect on survival or growth.We observed significant damage to the liver and gill,including hepatocellular swelling and fatty degeneration in the liver as well as proliferation and edema of epithelial cells in the gills.In addition,exposure to 4mg/L TBC induced proliferation of goblet cells in the intestine of both sexes,acellular areas in the testis,and thinly scattered vitellogenic granules in vitellogenic oocytes.TBC exposure had no effect on the levels of thyroid hormones,testosterone,estradiol,liver superoxide dismutase activity,malondialdehyde content,and brain cholinesterase activity.By contrast,hepatic vitellogenin and cytochrome P4501A gene expression was significantly down-regulated in both male and female zebrafish in response to TBC exposure.Our results suggest that exposure to TBC causes a variety of potential reproductive and endocrine toxic effects. | ZHANG Xu LI Juan CHEN MinJie WU Le ZHANG Chi ZHANG Jie ZHOU QunFang LIANG Yong | 2011 | Chinese Science Bulletin2011,56,15: | 13 |
| 3 | Impact of dissolved organic matter on the photolysis of the ionizable antibiotic norfloxacin显示文摘Norfloxacin(NOR), an ionizable antibiotic frequently used in the aquaculture industry, has aroused public concern due to its persistence, bacterial resistance, and environmental ubiquity.Therefore, we investigated the photolysis of different species of NOR and the impact of a ubiquitous component of natural water — dissolved organic matter(DOM), which has a special photochemical activity and normally acts as a sensitizer or inhibiter in the photolysis of diverse organics; furthermore, scavenging experiments combined with electron paramagnetic resonance(EPR) were performed to evaluate the transformation of NOR in water. The results demonstated that NOR underwent direct photolysis and self-sensitized photolysis via hydroxyl radical(U OH) and singlet oxygen(1O2) based on the scavenging experiments. In addition, DOM was found to influence the photolysis of different NOR species, and its impact was related to the concentration of DOM and type of NOR species. Photolysis of cationic NOR was photosensitized by DOM at low concentration, while zwitterionic and anionic NOR were photoinhibited by DOM, where quenching of U OH predominated according to EPR experiments, accompanied by possible participation of excited triplet-state NOR and1O2. Photo-intermediate identification of different NOR species in solutions with/without DOM indicated that NOR underwent different photodegradation pathways including dechlorination, cleavage of the piperazine side chain and photooxidation, and DOM had little impact on the distribution but influenced the concentration evolution of photolysis intermediates. | 4 | The Chinese Hα Solar Explorer(CHASE) mission: An overview显示文摘The Chinese Hα Solar Explorer(CHASE), dubbed “Xihe”—Goddess of the Sun, was launched on October 14, 2021 as the first solar space mission of China National Space Administration(CNSA). The CHASE mission is designed to test a newly developed satellite platform and to acquire the spectroscopic observations in the Hα waveband. The Hα Imaging Spectrograph(HIS)is the scientific payload of the CHASE satellite. It consists of two observational modes: raster scanning mode and continuum imaging mode. The raster scanning mode obtains full-Sun or region-of-interest spectral images from 6559.7 to 6565.9 ? and from 6567.8 to 6570.6 ? with 0.024 ? pixel spectral resolution and 1 min temporal resolution. The continuum imaging mode obtains photospheric images in continuum around 6689 ? with the full width at half maximum of 13.4 ?. The CHASE mission will advance our understanding of the dynamics of solar activity in the photosphere and chromosphere. | 8 | Cloning and Expression Analysis of Citrus Genes Cs GH3.1 and Cs GH3.6Responding to Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. citri Infection显示文摘To study the functions of the early auxin-responsive genes Cs GH3.1 and Cs GH3.6 in citrus resistance against canker disease, we cloned Cs GH3.1and Cs GH3.6 in ‘Newhall' Navel Orange(Citrus sinensis Osbeck). They are 1 797 bp and 1 887 bp and encode 598 and 629 amino acids, respectively. In vitro mature leaves from susceptible ‘Newhall' and resistant Calamondin(C. madurensis) were inoculated by a Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. citri(Xac) bacterial suspension, and expression of Cs GH3.1 and Cs GH3.6 in the two varieties were analyzed using quantitative real-time PCR(q RT-PCR). ‘Newhall' leaves were treated with different hormones for 3 days, inoculated by Xac bacterial suspension, and then the symptoms in these leaves were investigated. We used q RT-PCR to analyze the effect of different hormones on Cs GH3.1 and Cs GH3.6 expression in ‘Newhall'leaves. The expression levels of both Cs GH3.1 and Cs GH3.6 were significantly induced by Xac in ‘Newhall' leaves, compared with levels in Calamondin leaves. 1-naphthy acetic acid(NAA) increased the hypertrophy of infection sites in ‘Newhall' leaves, while naphthyl-phthalamic acid(NPA)had no visible effect on lesion development. NAA hormone greatly improved expression of Cs GH3.1 in ‘Newhall', but not Cs GH3.6. | 9 | Reinforced polysulfide barrier by g-C_(3)N_(4)/CNT composite towards superior lithium-sulfur batteries显示文摘The notorious shuttle effect has long been obstructing lithium-sulfur(Li-S) batteries from yielding the expected high energy density and long lifespan.Herein,we develop a multifunctional polysulfide barrier reinforced by the graphitic carbon nitride/carbon nanotube(g-C_3 N_4/CNT) composite toward inhibited shuttling behavior and improved battery performance.The obtained g-C_3 N_4 delivers a unique spongelike architecture with massive ion transfer pathways and fully exposed active interfaces,while the abundant C-N heteroatomic structures impose strong chemical immobilization toward lithium polysulfides.Combined with the highly conductive agent,the g-C_3 N_4/CNT reinforced separator is endowed with great capability of confining and reutilizing the active sulfur within the cathode,thus contributing to an efficient and stable sulfur electrochemistry.Benefiting from these synergistic attributes,Li-S cells based on g-C_3 N_4/CNT separator exhibit an excellent cyclability with a minimum decay rate of 0.03% per cycle over 500 cycles and decent rate capability up to 2 C.Moreover,a high areal capacity of 7.69 mAh cm^(-2)can be achieved under a raised sulfur loading up to 10.1 mg cm^(-2).demonstrating a facile and efficient pathway toward superior Li-S batteries. | Xiangliang Wang Gaoran Li Minjie Li Ruiping Liu Haibo Li Tengyu Li Mingzhu Sun Yirui Deng Ming Feng Zhongwei Chen | 2021 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,2: | 4 |
| 10 | DICER1 regulates antibacterial function of epididymis by modulating transcription of p-defensins显示文摘DICER1 is a key enzyme responsible for the maturation of microRNAs. Recent evidences suggested that DICER1 and microRNAs expressed in epididymis were involved in the control of male fertility. However, the exact mechanism remains to be elucidated. Here, we created a mouse line by targeted disruption of Dicerl gene in the principal cells of distal caput epididymis. Our data indicated that a set of β-defensin genes were downregulated by DICER1 rather than by microRNAs. Moreover, DICER1 was significantly enriched in the promoter of β-defensin gene and controlled transcription. Besides, the antibacterial ability of the adult epididymis significantly declined upon Dicerl deletion both in vitro and in vivo. And a higher incidence of reproductive defect was observed in middle-aged Dicerl^-|- males. | 11 | A male-ABCD algorithm for hepatocellular carcinoma risk prediction in HBs Ag carriers显示文摘Objective: Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) development among hepatitis B surface antigen(HBs Ag) carriers shows gender disparity, influenced by underlying liver diseases that display variations in laboratory tests. We aimed to construct a risk-stratified HCC prediction model for HBs Ag-positive male adults.Methods: HBs Ag-positive males of 35-69 years old(N=6,153) were included from a multi-center populationbased liver cancer screening study. Randomly, three centers were set as training, the other three centers as validation. Within 2 years since initiation, we administrated at least two rounds of HCC screening using Bultrasonography and α-fetoprotein(AFP). We used logistic regression models to determine potential risk factors,built and examined the operating characteristics of a point-based algorithm for HCC risk prediction.Results: With 2 years of follow-up, 302 HCC cases were diagnosed. A male-ABCD algorithm was constructed including participant's age, blood levels of GGT(γ-glutamyl-transpeptidase), counts of platelets, white cells,concentration of DCP(des-γ-carboxy-prothrombin) and AFP, with scores ranging from 0 to 18.3. The area under receiver operating characteristic was 0.91(0.90-0.93), larger than existing models. At 1.5 points of risk score,26.10% of the participants in training cohort and 14.94% in validation cohort were recognized at low risk, with sensitivity of identifying HCC remained 100%. At 2.5 points, 46.51% of the participants in training cohort and 33.68% in validation cohort were recognized at low risk with 99.06% and 97.78% of sensitivity, respectively. | 14 | Different self-assembly behaviors of mono-modified β-cyclodextrin substituted by benzoic acid derivatives显示文摘The mono-modified β-cyclodextrin derivative,6-O-(4-aminobenzoyl)-β-cyclodextrin(1) ,was synthesized and characterized. We compared its self-assembling behavior with structurally related β-cyclodextrin derivative,6-O-(4-hydroxybenzoyl)-βcyclodextrin(2) ,in aqueous solution and in the solid state using NMR spectroscopy and single crystal X-ray structure analysis. | 15 | A facile self-catalyzed CVD method to synthesize Fe3C/N-doped carbon nanofibers as lithium storage anode with improved rate capability and cyclability显示文摘Uniform Fe3 C/N-doped carbon nanofibers were successfully synthesized through a facile self-catalyzed CVD method by using acetylene as carbon source and Fe3O4 as iron source and autocatalytic template for the reaction under moderate preparation conditions. The experimental and theoretical calculation results demonstrate that Fe3 C can improve the lithium storage performance of carbon nanofibers. Besides, the addition of PPy can not only control the growth rate of carbon fibers but also help to form uniform carbon fibers. As a result, the obtained Fe3 C/N-doped carbon nanofiber composites display favorable electrochemical performance as an anode for lithium-ion batteries, which including satisfactory rate performance of 402 m A h g-1 under 1.2 Ag-1, and good cycling stability of 502.3 m A h g-1 under 200 m Ag-1 over 400 cycles. | 19 | Rice SPL10 positively regulates trichome development through expression of HL6 and auxin-related genes显示文摘Trichomes function in plant defenses against biotic and abiotic stresses;examination of glabrous lines,which lack trichomes,has revealed key aspects of trichome development and function.Tests of allelism in 51 glabrous rice(Oryza sativa)accessions collected worldwide identified OsSPL10 and OsWOX3B as regulators of trichome development in rice.Here,we report that OsSPL10 acts as a transcriptional regulator controlling trichome development.Haplotype and transient expression analyses revealed that variation in the approximately 700-bp OsSPL10 promoter region is the primary cause of the glabrous phenotype in the indica cultivar WD-17993.Disruption of OsSPL10 by genome editing decreased leaf trichome density and length in the NIL-HL6 background.Plants with genotype OsSPL10^(WD-17993)/HL6 generated by crossing WD-17993 with NIL-HL6 also had fewer trichomes in the glumes.HAIRY LEAF6(HL6)encodes another transcription factor that regulates trichome initiation and elongation,and OsSPL10 directly binds to the HL6 promoter to regulate its expression.Moreover,the transcript levels of auxin-related genes,such as OsYUCCA5 and OsPIN-FORMED1b,were altered in OsSPL10 overexpression and RNAi transgenic lines.Feeding tests using locusts(Locusta migratoria)demonstrated that non-glandular trichomes affect feeding by this herbivore.Our findings provide a molecular framework for trichome development and an ecological perspective on trichome functions. | Jinjie Li Bo Tang Yingxiu Li Chenguang Li Minjie Guo Haiyang Chen Shichen Han Jin Li Qijin Lou Wenqiang Sun Peng Wang Haifeng Guo Wei Ye Zhanying Zhang Hongliang Zhang Sibin Yu Long Zhang Zichao Li | 2021 | Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2021,63,8: | 2 |
| 20 | Rho-Associated Kinase Inhibitors Promote Microglial Uptake Via the ERK Signaling Pathway显示文摘Microglia are immunocompetent cells in the central nervous system that take up tissue debris and pathogens.Rho-associated kinase(ROCK) has been identified as an important regulator of uptake, proliferation, secretion, and differentiation in a number of cell types. Although ROCK plays critical roles in the microglial secretion of inflammatory factors,migration, and morphology, its effects on microglial uptake activity have not been well characterized. In the present study,we found that treatment of BV2 microglia and primary microglia with the ROCK inhibitors Y27632 and fasudil increased uptake activity and was associated with morphological changes.
