1Finite element investigation of the poroelastic effect on the Xinfengjiang Reservoir-triggered earthquake显示文摘Coulomb failure stress changes (ΔCFS) are used in the study of reservoir-induced seismicity (RIS) generation.The threshold value of ΔCFS that can trigger earthquakes is an important issue that deserves thorough research.The M s 6.1 earthquake in the Xinfengjiang Reservoir in 1962 is well acknowledged as the largest reservoir-induced earthquake in China.Therefore, it is a logical site for quantitative calculation of ΔCFS induced by the filling of the reservoir and for investigating the magnitude of CFS that can trigger reservoir seismic activities.To better understand the RIS mechanism, a three-dimensional poroelastic finite element model of the Xinfengjiang Reservoir is proposed here, taking into consideration of the precise topography and dynamic water level.We calculate the instant changes of stress and pore pressure induced by water load, and the time variation of effective stresses due to pore water diffusion.The CFS on the seismogenesis faults and the accumulation of strain energy in the reservoir region are also calculated.Primary results suggest that the reservoir impoundment increases both pore pressure and CFS on the fault at the focal depth.The diffusion of pore pressure was likely the main factor that triggered the main earthquake, whereas the elastic stress owing to water load was relatively small.The magnitude of CFS on seismogenesis fault can reach approximately 10 kPa, and the ΔCFS values at the hypocenter can be about 0.7-3.0 kPa, depending on the fault diffusion coefficient.The calculated maximum vertical subsidence caused by the water load in the Xinfengjiang Reservoir is 17.5 mm, which is in good agreement with the observed value of 15 mm.The accumulated strain energy owing to water load was only about 7.3×10 11 J, even less than 1% of the seismic wave energy released by the earthquake.The reservoir impoundment was the only factor that triggered the earthquake.CHENG HuiHong ZHANG Huai ZHU BoJing SUN YuJun ZHENG Liang YANG ShaoHua SHI YaoLin 2012Science China Earth Sciences2012,55,12:11
2Porosity and permeability evolution and evaluation in anisotropic porosity multiscale-multiphase-multicomponent structure显示文摘Based on the hybrid hypersingular integral equation-lattice Boltzmann methods (HHIE-LBM), the porosity and permeability evolution and evaluation process in anisotropic saturated porosity multiscale-multiphase-multicomponent (ASP-MS-MP-MC) structures under ultra high temperature and pressure conditions was analyzed on parallel CPU and GPU platforms. First, virtual physical models at multi-spatial scales (2 μm, 5 μm and 10 μm) were restructured by computerized microtomography technology and data. Second, using HHIE-LBM methods, the anisotropic porosity and permeability tensor at core level and pore level under ultra high temperature and pressure conditions were calculated. Third, the evolution and evaluation process of the porosity and permeability as a function of multi temporal spatial scales was investigated. 3Finite element analysis of steep excavation slope failure by CFS theory显示文摘The distribution of Coulomb failure stress (CFS) change in the steep excavation slope is calculated by finite element method in this paper,and the failure mechanics under different conditions have been investigated.Comparing the CFSs before and after the slope excavation (stress loading and unloading processes),the dangerous internal zone and the most likely failure external area are attained.Given the shear cracks on the top surface while tensile stress or cracks along the toe of the slope,we analyze the high cutting-angle steep slope in Kaixian county of the Three Gorges Reservoir region.We bring forward that the peak value of CFS after excavation can reach to the order of 0.1MPa,which is greatly higher than that of before.Our preliminary results are useful for optimizing the reinforcement structure during the steep slope stabilization engineering.Huihong Cheng Huai Zhang Bojing Zhu Yaolin Shi 2012Earthquake Science2012,25,2:2
4Submicron Volume Roughness & Asperity Contact Friction Model for Principle Slip Surface in Flash Heating Process显示文摘Based on focused ion beam and shear friction apparatus data,the multi-resolutions(0.2nm–5μm) volume roughness & asperity contact(VR & AC) three-dimensional structure on principle slip surface interface-surface(PSS-IS) is measured on high performance computational platform; and physical plastic-creep friction model is established by using hybrid hyper-singular integral equation & lattice Boltzmann & lattice Green function(BE-LB-LG). 5HRCT Scans of Peripheral Non-Small Cell Lung Cancers and their Relationship with Cyclin D1 Expression:a Longitudinal Study显示文摘OBJECTIVE To investigate cyclin D1 expression in peripheral lung cancers and its relationship with CT signs and prognosis. METHODS Cyclin D1 expression in peripheral lung cancers and its relationship with the CT imaging and prognosis were analyzed retrospectively by means of SP immunohistochemistry and spiral CT scanning in 92 patients with peripheral lung cancer verified by pathology. RESULTS Cyclin D1 expression was related to deep lobulation,spiculate protuberance,short thin spinules sign and mediastina lymph node metastasis.Cyclin D1 expression was not related to tumor size,cavity,pleural indentation,histological type,differentiation,tumor TNM stage,age or sex.Cyclin D1 was a negative prognostic factor whose over-expression indicated a poor prognosis. 6Study of The Voltammetric Behavior of Heme and Its Direct Analysis Application显示文摘The electroanalytic method of ferriheme was investigated bylinear sweep voltammetry in medium of 0.05M Tris+0.05MNH3-NH4Cl buffer at hang mercury drop electrodes (HMDE). Hemeexhibits two pair reversible redox peaks and one irreversible peak. Thecathodic peak potentials are -0.236V, -0.422V and -1.408V respectively. The firstand the third peaks can be used for directly quantitative determination of hemeconcentration. The peak currents are good linear relationship hemeconcentration in ranges of 3×10-6~ 6×10-5mol/L and 3×10-7~ 1.5×10-5mol/L respectively. 7The Longnan M_S5. 5 Earthquake on September 12, 2008:A Very Shallow Event Probably Triggered by the Wenchuan Earthquake显示文摘The 2008 Wenchuan earthquake has a significant impact on the seismicity of nearby regions. The Longnan earthquake which occurred on September 12,2008 in Gansu Province was out of the aftershock zone. Reliable source parameters are essential for understanding the seismogenic process of this earthquake. Therefore,three approaches are adopted to study the source parameters of this event. The focal mechanism is obtained with the g CAP method that takes non-Double-Couple(non-DC)component into account. The two fault planes are NP1:150°/45°/81° and NP2:342°/45°/98°,while the non-DC component is about 53%. The focal depth is 1. 6 km,which indicates the Longnan earthquake is a shallow event. Furthermore,this result is also in good agreement with results obtained with two other approaches:amplitude spectra of Rayleigh wave and surface displacement from In SAR measurement. To analyze the cause of the event,coulomb failure stress change caused by the Wenchuan earthquake on the Longnan earthquake fault plane is calculated. The result shows that coulomb stress change is 30 k Pa around the Longnan earthquake hypocenter,which exceeds the typical triggering threshold of 10 k Pa. 8Submicron size-scale mapping of carbonate effective elastic properties from FIB-SEM images and finite element method显示文摘In this paper,an automatic unstructured focused ion beam(FIB) and scanning electron microscopy(SEM) images induced representative volume element(RVE) finite element(FE) method is developed to predict submicron scale carbonate rock effective Young's and bulk moduli and Poisson's ratio on parallel CPU-GPU platform.Based on high resolution-contrast surface morphology and internal fabnc-texture structure images from carbonate rock specimen(covered 0.12-64 μm^2 area and8000 μm^3 domain),the cubic RVE FE models are constructed from different sites through Avizo with user-defined parameters Matlab coding.The effective Young's and bulk moduli and Poisson's ratio of the different RVEs and porosity and pore size are computed by using periodic boundary condition in the well-known FE software Abaqus.FE mesh sensitivity analysis has been conducted where all moduli converge to a certain constant value at larger FE mesh density.The effect of fabric-texture(pore size,shape,and distribution) on the elastic properties is discussed.The correlations between the computed effective elastic properties and pore size,porosity,RVE size have been established.The simulation results show that the effective Young's and bulk moduli and Poisson's ratio have strong anisotropic behavior and depend on RVE size,porosity and pore size.The RVE size,porosity and pore size are three independent factors in affecting of the effective elastic moduli,the effect mechanism of porosity and pore size is same while the effect mechanism of RVE size is difference.CHENG HuiHong ZHU BoJing David A YUEN SHI YaoLin 2017Science China Earth Sciences2017,60,3:0
