| 1 | Deformation mechanism of roadways in deep soft rock at Hegang Xing’an Coal Mine显示文摘Engineering geomechanics characteristics of roadways in deep soft rock at Hegang Xing'an Coal Mine were studied and the nature of clay minerals of roadway surrounding rock was analyzed. This paper is to solve the technical problems of high stress and the difficulty in supporting the coal mine, and provide a rule for the support design. Results show that mechanical deformation mechanisms of deep soft rock roadway at Xing'an Coal Mine is of ⅠABⅡABCⅢABCD type, consisting of molecular water absorption (the ⅠAB -type), the tectonic stress type + gravity deformation type + hydraulic type (the ⅡABC -type), and the ⅢABCD -type with fault, weak intercalation and bedding formation. According to the compound mechanical deformation mechanisms, the corresponding mechanical control measures and conversion technologies were proposed, and these technologies have been successfully applied in roadway supporting practice in deep soft rock at Xing'an Coal Mine with good effect. Xing'an Coal Mine has the deepest burial depth in China, with its overburden ranging from Mesozoic Jurassic coal-forming to now. | 2 | Types,Characteristics and Significances of Migrating Pathways of Gas-bearing Fluids in the Shenhu Area,Northern Continental Slope of the South China Sea显示文摘The first marine gas hydrate expedition in China has been conducted by Guangzhou Marine Geological Survey in the Shenhu Area, northern continental slope of the South China Sea. Previous study has analyzed the P-T conditions, geophysical anomalies and saturation calculations of these gas hydrates, but has not documented in detail the migration of gas-bearing fluids in the study area. Based on the interpretations of 2D/3D seismic data, this work identified two types of migration pathways for gas-bearing fluids in the Shenhu area, i.e., vertical and lateral pathways. The vertical pathways(largescale faults, gas chimneys and mud diapirs) presented as steep seismic reflection anomalies, which could be traced downward to the Eocene source rocks and may penetrate into the Late Miocene strata. The deeper gases/fluids might be allowed migrating into the shallower strata through these vertical conduits. However, the distributions showed distinct differences between these pathways. Large-scale faults developed only in the north and northeast of the Shenhu area, while in the drilling area gas chimneys were the sole vertical migration pathways. Since the Pliocene, normal faults, detachment faults and favorable sediments have constituted the lateral pathways in the Shenhu gas hydrate drilling area. Although these lateral pathways were connected with gas chimneys, they exerted different effects on hydrate formation and accumulation. Gas-bearing fluids migrated upward along gas chimneys might further migrate laterally because of the normal faults, thereby enlarging the range of the chimneys. Linking gas chimneys with the seafloor, the detachment faults might act as conduits for escaping gases/fluids. Re-deposited sediments developed at the early stage of the Quaternary were located within the gas hydrate stability zone, so hydrates would be enriched in these favorable sediments. Compared with the migration pathways(large-scale faults and mud diapirs) in the LW3-1 deep-sea oil/gas field, the migration efficiency of the vertical pathways(composed of gas chimneys) in the gas hydrate drilling area might be relatively low. Description and qualitative discrimination of migration pathways in the Shenhu gas hydrate drilling area are helpful to further understand the relationship between good-quality deep source rocks and shallow, mainly biogenicallyproduced, hydrates. As the main source rocks of the Baiyun sag, lacustrine mudstones in the Wenchang and Enping Formations may provide thermogenic methane. Gas chimneys with relatively low migration efficiency created the vertical pathways. Caused by the Dongsha tectonic movement, the release of overpressured fluids might reduce the vertical migration rates of the thermogenic methane. The thick bathyal/abyssal fine-grained sediments since the Late Miocene provided migration media with low permeability. These preconditions may cause carbon isotopic fractionation ofthermogenic methane during long-distance vertical migrations. | 5 | Dynamics of vehicle-pavement coupled system based on a revised flexible roller contact tire model显示文摘A revised flexible roller contact tire model (RFRC tire model) is proposed, which considers not only the geometric and flexible filtering effect, but also tire damping and pavement displacement. A vehi- cle-pavement coupled system is modeled as a two DOF oscillator moving along a simply supported beam on a linear viscoelastic foundation. By using the Galerkin’s and Direct Integral method, dynamical responses of the vehicle-pavement coupled system are obtained based on the RFRC tire model and the traditional single point contact tire model (SPC tire model). The simulation results are compared with test data and the validity of the proposed RFRC tire model is verified. Differences between the two models are also investigated. It is found that the dynamical behaviors for both models agree with each other quite well when road surface roughness is a long harmonic wave. On the other hand, they are different under short harmonic wave or impulse road excitation. | 7 | Finite element investigation of the poroelastic effect on the Xinfengjiang Reservoir-triggered earthquake显示文摘Coulomb failure stress changes (ΔCFS) are used in the study of reservoir-induced seismicity (RIS) generation.The threshold value of ΔCFS that can trigger earthquakes is an important issue that deserves thorough research.The M s 6.1 earthquake in the Xinfengjiang Reservoir in 1962 is well acknowledged as the largest reservoir-induced earthquake in China.Therefore, it is a logical site for quantitative calculation of ΔCFS induced by the filling of the reservoir and for investigating the magnitude of CFS that can trigger reservoir seismic activities.To better understand the RIS mechanism, a three-dimensional poroelastic finite element model of the Xinfengjiang Reservoir is proposed here, taking into consideration of the precise topography and dynamic water level.We calculate the instant changes of stress and pore pressure induced by water load, and the time variation of effective stresses due to pore water diffusion.The CFS on the seismogenesis faults and the accumulation of strain energy in the reservoir region are also calculated.Primary results suggest that the reservoir impoundment increases both pore pressure and CFS on the fault at the focal depth.The diffusion of pore pressure was likely the main factor that triggered the main earthquake, whereas the elastic stress owing to water load was relatively small.The magnitude of CFS on seismogenesis fault can reach approximately 10 kPa, and the ΔCFS values at the hypocenter can be about 0.7-3.0 kPa, depending on the fault diffusion coefficient.The calculated maximum vertical subsidence caused by the water load in the Xinfengjiang Reservoir is 17.5 mm, which is in good agreement with the observed value of 15 mm.The accumulated strain energy owing to water load was only about 7.3×10 11 J, even less than 1% of the seismic wave energy released by the earthquake.The reservoir impoundment was the only factor that triggered the earthquake. | CHENG HuiHong ZHANG Huai ZHU BoJing SUN YuJun ZHENG Liang YANG ShaoHua SHI YaoLin | 2012 | Science China Earth Sciences2012,55,12: | 11 |

| 9 | Methane emissions from rice fields under continuous straw return in the middle-lower reaches of the Yangtze River显示文摘A three-year experiment was conducted in the middle-lower reaches of the Yangtze River in China to study the influence of continuous wheat straw return during the rice season and continuous rice straw return in wheat on methane (CH 4 ) emissions from rice fields in which, the rice-wheat rotation system is the most dominant planting pattern. The field experiment was initiated in October 2009 and has continued since the wheat-growing season of that year. The analyses for the present study were conducted in the second (2011) and third (2012) rice growing seasons. Four treatments, namely, the continuous return of wheat straw and rice straw in every season (WR), of rice straw but no wheat straw return (R), of wheat straw but no rice straw return (W) and a control with no straw return (CK), were laid out in a randomized split-plot design. The total seasonal CH 4 emissions ranged from 107.4 to 491.7 kg/ha (2011) and 160.3 to 909.6 kg/ha (2012). The increase in CH 4 emissions for treatments WR and W were 289% and 230% in the second year and 185% and 225% in the third year, respectively, in relation to CK. We observed less methane emissions in the treatment R than in CK by 14%-43%, but not statistically significant. Treatment R could increase rice productivity while no more CH 4 emission occurs. | 11 | Fate of Basal N Under Split Fertilization in Rice with ^(15)N Isotope Tracer显示文摘Split fertilization strategy is popularly adopted in rice to synchronize soil nitrogen(N) supply and crop N demand. Attention has been paid more on mid-season topdressing N, but limited on basal N. A clearer understanding of the basal N fate under split fertilization is crucial for determining rational basal N split ratio to improve the yield and reduce the loss to environment. A two-year field experiment with two N rates of 150 and 300 kg Nha^(-1), two split ratios of basal N, 40% and 25%, and two rice varieties,Wuyunjing 23(japonica) and Y-liangyou 2(super hybrid indica), was conducted. Labelled ^(15) N urea was supplied in micro-plots as basal fertilizer to determine the plant uptake, translocation, soil residual, and loss of basal N fertilizer. The results showed that basal N absorbed by rice was only 1.6%–11.5% before tillering fertilization(8–10 d after transplanting), 6.5%–21.4% from tillering fertilization to panicle fertilization, and little(0.1%–4.4%) after panicle fertilization. The recovery efficiency of basal N for the entire rice growth stage was low and ranged from 18.7% to 24.8%, not significantly affected by cultivars or N treatments. Soil residual basal N accounted for 10.3%–36.4% and decreased with increasing total N rate and basal N ratio, regardless of variety and year. 43.8%–70.4% of basal N was lost into the environment based on the N balance. Basal N loss was significantly linearly positive related with the basal N rate and obviously enhanced by the increasing basal N ratio for both varieties in both 2012 and 2013. The N use efficiency and yield was significantly improved when decreasing the basal N ratio from 40% to 25%. | 12 | Overview of China's Antarctic research progress 1984–2016显示文摘It is more than 30 years since the first Chinese National Antarctic Research Expedition(CHINARE) landed in Antarctica in 1984, representing China's initiation in polar research. This review briefly summarizes the Chinese Antarctic scientific research and output accomplished over the past 30 years. The developments and progress in Antarctic research and the enhancement of international scientific cooperation achieved through the implementation of the CHINARE program have been remarkable. Since the 1980 s, four permanent Chinese Antarctic research stations have been established successively and 33 CHINAREs have been completed. | 13 | The origin, diversification and adaptation of a major mangrove clade (Rhizophoreae) revealed by whole-genome sequencing显示文摘Mangroves invade some very marginal habitats for woody plants—at the interface between land and sea.Since mangroves anchor tropical coastal communities globally, their origin, diversification and adaptation are of scientific significance, particularly at a time of global climate change. In this study, a combination of single-molecule long reads and the more conventional short reads are generated from Rhizophora apiculata for the de novo assembly of its genome to a near chromosome level. The longest scaffold, N50 and N90 for the R. apiculata genome, are 13.3 Mb, 5.4 Mb and 1.0 Mb, respectively. Short reads for the genomes and transcriptomes of eight related species are also generated. We find that the ancestor of Rhizophoreae experienced a whole-genome duplication ~70 Myrs ago, which is followed rather quickly by colonization and species diversification. Mangroves exhibit pan-exome modifications of amino acid(AA) usage as well as unusual AA substitutions among closely related species. The usage and substitution of AAs, unique among plants surveyed, is correlated with the rapid evolution of proteins in mangroves. A small subset of these substitutions is associated with mangroves' highly specialized traits(vivipary and red bark) thought to be adaptive in the intertidal habitats. Despite the many adaptive features, mangroves are among the least genetically diverse plants, likely the result of continual habitat turnovers caused by repeated rises and falls of sea level in the geologically recent past. Several broad genome-editing studies with the CRISPR/Cas9 system in different species in vivo and ex vivo have indicated its strong potential, raising hopes for therapeutic genome editing in clinical settings. | 16 | Pathways related to PMA-differentiated THP1 human monocytic leukemia cells revealed by RNA-Seq显示文摘Previous analyses have reported that the human monocytic cell line THP1 can be differentiated into cells with macrophage-like characteristics by phorbol 12-myristate 13-acetate(PMA). However, little is known about the mechanism responsible for regulating this differentiation process. Here, we performed high-throughput RNA-Seq analysis to investigate the genes differently expressed in THP1 cells treated with and without PMA and examined those that may be responsible for the PMA-induced differentiation of monocytes into macrophages. We found 3,000 genes to be differentially expressed after PMA treatment. Gene ontology analysis revealed that genes related to cellular processes and regulation of biological processes were significantly enriched. KEGG analysis also demonstrated that the differentially expressed genes(DEGs) were significantly enriched in the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway and phagosome pathway. Importantly, we reveal an important role of the PI3K/AKT pathway in PMA-induced THP1 cell differentiation. The identified DEGs and pathways may facilitate further study of the detailed molecular mechanisms of THP1 differentiation. | 17 | Cloning,expression and binding specificity analysis of odorant binding protein 3 of the lucerne plant bug,Adelphocoris lineolatus(Goeze)显示文摘Credible evidence shows that odorant binding proteins(OBPs)are required for insect olfaction perception and play a key role in transporting hydrophobic odorants across the sensillum lymph to the olfactory receptors(ORs).In the present study,a novel OBP(AlinOBP3)gene from the lucerne plant bug,Adelphocoris lineolatus,was cloned and expressed.The expression pattern of AlinOBP3 was evaluated by qPCR,which indicated that AlinOBP3 was dominantly expressed in antennae.The binding properties of AlinOBP3 with 9 cotton volatiles and 5 sex pheromone analogs were measured by fluorescence competitive binding assays with the fluorescence probe 1-NPN.The results revealed that of 9 cotton volatiles,Myrcene,β-Ocimene and α-Phellandrene can bind with AlinOBP3.α-Phellandrene especially bound to AlinOBP3 with a high binding affinity,with a dissociation constant of 56.68 μmol/L.Of the 5 sex pheromone analogs,Hexyl butyrate had the strongest binding affinity with AlinOBP3,with a dissociation constant as 59.53 μmol/L.Butyl butyrate,trans-2-Hexenyl butyrate and Ethyl butyrate had medium binding affinities with AlinOBP3,with dissociation constants of 227.39,108.77 and 143.47 μmol/L,respectively.The results suggest that AlinOBP3 might be a pheromone binding protein(PBP)with a dual-function for the perception of sex pheromones and plant volatiles. | GU ShaoHua SUN Yang REN LiYan ZHANG XueYing ZHANG YongJun WU KongMing GUO YuYuan | 2010 | Chinese Science Bulletin2010,55,34: | 7 |

| 19 | Research on dynamics of a class of heavy vehicle-tire-road coupling system显示文摘The dynamic tire force of heavy vehicle is a primary reason for road damage. This paper presents a mathematic model to restore the interacting process of vehicle-tire-road system and tries to find out the mechanics of interaction. A nonlinear tri-axle vehicle model with IBS (integral balanced suspension) is firstly proposed based on the detailed analysis of structural features of a heavy vehicle (DFL1250). The results indicate that the nonlinearities in the vehicle suspension contribute to improvement of ride comfort and to the reduction of dynamic tire force. Furthermore, an FRC (flexible rolling contact) tire model with the enveloping characteristics is added into the IBS model. The tire model considers both the tire contact history with rough road profile and the uneven distribution characteristics of vertical load. The FRC model is able to remove medium and high vibration components from uneven road profile due to its filtering feature. The viscosity, conductivity, lithium redox behavior, and charge-discharge characteristics of the lithium rechargeable batteries were investigated for the IL electrolyte with 0.3 mol kg 1 lithium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide (LiTFSI) salt.
