| 1 | SlMYB75,an MYB-type transcription factor,promotes anthocyanin accumulation and enhances volatile aroma production in tomato fruits显示文摘Genetic manipulation of genes to upregulate specific branches of metabolic pathways is a method that is commonly used to improve fruit quality.However,the use of a single gene to impact several metabolic pathways is difficult.Here,we show that overexpression of the single gene SlMYB75(SlMYB75-OE)is effective at improving multiple fruit quality traits.In these engineered fruits,the anthocyanin content reached 1.86mg g−1 fresh weight at the red-ripe stage,and these SlMYB75-OE tomatoes displayed a series of physiological changes,including delayed ripening and increased ethylene production.In addition to anthocyanin,the total contents of phenolics,flavonoids and soluble solids in SlMYB75-OE fruits were enhanced by 2.6,4,and 1.2 times,respectively,compared to those of wild-type(WT)fruits.Interestingly,a number of aroma volatiles,such as aldehyde,phenylpropanoid-derived and terpene volatiles,were significantly increased in SlMYB75-OE fruits,with some terpene volatiles showing more than 10 times higher levels than those in WT fruits.Consistent with the metabolic assessment,transcriptomic profiling indicated that the genes involved in the ethylene signaling,phenylpropanoid and isoprenoid pathways were greatly upregulated in SlMYB75-OE fruits.Yeast one-hybrid and transactivation assays revealed that SlMYB75 is able to directly bind to the MYBPLANT and MYBPZM cis-regulatory elements and to activate the promoters of the LOXC,AADC2 and TPS genes.The identification of SlMYB75 as a key regulator of fruit quality attributes through the transcriptional regulation of downstream genes involved in several metabolic pathways opens new avenues towards engineering fruits with a higher sensory and nutritional quality. | Wei Jian Haohao Cao Shu Yuan Yudong Liu Juanfang Lu Wang Lu Ning Li Jianhui Wang Jian Zou Ning Tang Chan Xu Yulin Cheng Yanqiang Gao Wanpeng Xi Mondher Bouzayen Zhengguo Li | 2019 | Horticulture Research2019，6，1： | 39 |

| 5 | Interannual and Interdecadal Variability of Winter Precipitation over China in Relation to Global Sea Level Pressure Anomalies显示文摘Based on the method of rotated principal component (RPC) analysis and wavelet transforms, the win-ter precipitation from 36 stations over China for the period 1881-1993 is examined. The results show thatthe three leading space-time modes correspond, in sequence, to winter rainfall anomalies over the reaches ofthe Yangtze River, the bend of the Yellow River, and the northeastern region of China. The three modes ex-hibit interannual oscillations with quasi-biennial and 8-year periods as well as interdecadal oscillationswith 16- and 32-year periods. The interannual oscillation (< 10 years) occurs in phase over the differentareas, and its maximum amplitude migrates northward considerably with prominent interdecadal variations.However, the interdecadal oscillations (10-32 years) are out of phase over the different regions, and theamplitude variations have the characteristics of stationary waves.The rainfall anomalies appear to be closely re lated to the anti-phase changes of mean sea-level pres-sure (SLP) over the Asian mainland and the North Pacific. When the SLP rises over the North Pacific anddecreases over the Asian mainland, the precipitation over East China increases noticeably. | 6 | Evidence of compliance with and effectiveness of guidelines for noninvasive prenatal testing in China:a retrospective study of 189,809 cases显示文摘In China,the medical guidelines recommend performing noninvasive prenatal testing(NIPT)with caution for pregnant women aged 35 years or older.However,the Mother and Child Health Care Law suggests that all primiparous women whose age is older than 35 years undergo prenatal diagnosis.These two inconsistent suggestions/recommendations have made obstetricians confused about whether to offer NIPT to these older pregnant women.To face this issue and find out the solution we performed a retrospective study of 189,809 NIPT samples collected from 28 provincial-leveled administrative units in China.Of 1,564 women with high-risk pregnancies who underwent NIPT,459(29.3%)did not participate in follow-up.The compound sensitivity and specificity of NIPT for trisomies 21,18 and 13 detection was 99.1%(95%CI,98.0%–99.6%)and 99.9%(95%CI,98.8%–99.9%),respectively.In secundiparous women,NIPT showed high sensitivity and specificity similar to that in primiparous women.The observed risk for trisomies 21 and 18 significantly increased when the maternal age was 39 and older.After the publication of the current NIPT policy,the follow-up rate at our center was 97.9%;however,a large number of women are not in maternal and infant care networks nationwide,and that makes the follow-up rate outside our center relatively low.Our study shows that to balance the prevention of major aneuploidies and the limited resources for prenatal diagnosis,the cut-off age of 35 for invasive prenatal diagnosis might be unnecessary.Although the NIPT guidelines are well written,how to practice it effectively,especially in less industrialized areas,is worth discussing. | Chan Tian Tao Deng Xiuhuang Zhu Chen Gong Yangyu Zhao Yuan Wei Rong Li Xiufeng Xu Miaonan He Zhiwei Zhang Jing Cheng Mol BenWillem Jie Qiao | 2020 | Science China(Life Sciences)2020，63，3： | 10 |
| 7 | NYD-SP27,a novel intrinsic decapacitation factor in sperm显示文摘Prior to fertilization sperm has to undergo an activation process known as capaciation,leading to the acrosome reaction.Till now,little is known about the mechanism for preventing premature capacitation in sperm although decapacitation factors from various sources have been thought to be involved.In this study,we report that NYD-SP27,an isoform of phospholipase C Zeta 1(PLCZ1),is localized to the sperm acrosome in mouse and human spermatozoa by immunofluorescence using a specific antibody.Western blot and double staining analyses show NYD-SP27 becomes detached from sperm,as they undergo capacitation and acrosome reaction.The absence of HCO_(3)^(-),a key factor in activating capacitation,from the capacitation-inducing medium prevents the loss of NYD-SP27 from sperm.The anti-NYD-SP27 antibody also prevents the loss of NYD-SP27 from sperm,reduced the number of capacitated sperm,inhibited the acrosome reaction induced by ATP and progesterone,and inhibited agonist-induced PLC-coupled Ca^(2+)mobilization in sperm,which can be mimicked by the PLC inhibitor,U73122.These data strongly suggest that NYD-SP27 is a physiological inhibitor of PLC that acts as an intrinsic decapacitation factor in sperm to prevent premature capacitation and acrosome reaction. | Ye Bi Wen-Ming Xu Hau Yan Wong Hui Zhu Zuo-Min Zhou Hsiao Chang Chan Jia-Hao Sha | 2009 | Asian Journal of Andrology2009，11，2： | 8 |

| 10 | Varicella-zoster virus as a causative agent of acute retinal necrosis in younger patients显示文摘Background: Herpes virus is considered to be the pathogen of acute retinal necrosis (ARN) infection. Previous studies have that patients with ARN caused by the varicella-zoster virus (VZV) are often older, and patients with herpes simplex virus (HSV) induced ARN are considerably younger. However, in our clinical work, we find that VZV is also a pathogen in younger ARN patients. We, therefore, aimed to analyze the common etiology of younger ARN patients. Methods: A retrospective analysis was made of 20 eyes (18 patients) diagnosed as having ARN in the Department of Ophthalmology of Peking Union Medical College Hospital from 2014 to 2016. All patients were reviewed for demographic data, clinical course, clinical manifestations, time from onset to initial physician visit, duration of follow-up, visual acuity at both presentation and final visit, and treatment strategies. A paired t test was used to compare visual acuity between the presenting vision and those of final follow-up. Vitreous or aqueous specimens from 18 eyes of 18 patients were analyzed with multiplex polymerase chain reaction (mPCR)/quantitative PCR (qPCR) and xTAG-liquid chip technology (xTAG-LCT) to determine the causative virus of ARN. Results: Final best visual acuity (BCVA) improved significantly from 1.36±0.95 (median 20/400) to 0.95±0.82 (median 20/100)￠=2.714, P = 0.015) after systemic and intravitreal antiviral treatment combined with or without pars plana vitrectomy. PCR and xTAG-LCT results showed four of the five samples in the younger group (32.2±5.2 years) and 12 of the 13 samples in the senior group (53.6±4.9 years) were positive for VZV, and two of the five samples in the younger group were positive for HSV-1. Conclusions: This study demonstrates that VZV is also a common causative virus for ARN in younger patients. | 15 | Effect of wrist-ankle acupuncture on propofol dosage during painless colonoscopy:A randomized controlled prospective study显示文摘BACKGROUND The clinical advantages of painless colonoscopy can reduce the fear and discomfort of patients and increase the detection rate of diseases.Propofol has the characteristics of fast effect and short action time.It is a common choice for painless endoscopic sedation and anesthetics.However,propofol can cause severe respiratory and circulatory depression.Therefore,it is important to find a way to reduce the dose of propofol.AIM To explore the effect of wrist-ankle acupuncture on propofol dose during colonoscopy.METHODS Two hundred patients who were going to receive selective painless colonoscopy in Hebei Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine were selected and divided into wrist-ankle acupuncture group(WAA group,n=100)and control group(CON group,n=100).After entering the operation room,patients were given 0.025 mg/kg nabufine intravenously and propofol at the initial dose of 0.5 mg/kg.In patients who did not fall asleep,propofol(10 mg/time)was given until loss of consciousness.Prior to anesthesia,patients in WAA group were punctured by specialist in the inferior 1,2 and 3 regions according to the zoning principle of wrist-ankle acupuncture.The primary endpoint was required dose of propofol,and the secondary endpoints were the incidence of hypoxemia and hypotension.Furthermore,the following data were recorded:The operation time,wake-up time,incidence of nausea and vomiting,incidence of abdominal distention,post colonoscopy pain,examiners'satisfaction,patients'satisfaction and Borg fatigue index.This study has been registered in the Chinese Clinical Trial Registry(Registration Code:ChiCTR1900022177).RESULTS The induced dose of propofol and the total dose of propofol in WAA group were 80 mg and 110 mg,respectively,which were significantly lower than those in CON group(P<0.05).The incidences of hypoxemia and hypotension in the WAA group were 2.2%and 3.3%,respectively,significantly lower than those in the CON group(P<0.05).The incidence of abdominal distension in the WAA group was 8.8%,which was significantly lower than that in the CON group(P<0.05,28.9%).The waking time of WAA group was 3.26±0.87 min,which was significantly lower than that of CON group(6.06±0.88 min,P<0.05).CONCLUSION Wrist-ankle acupuncture can reduce the induction dose and total dose of propofol as well as the incidence of adverse reactions in painless colonoscopy without affecting the satisfaction of examiners and patients.This procedure is simple in operation and easy to promote in clinical practice. | Tao He Chan Liu Zhi-Xia Lu Li-Li Kong Yan Li Zhe Xu Ya-Jing Dong Wei Hao | 2022 | World Journal of Clinical Cases2022，10，12： | 4 |

In this long review paper, we summarize and discuss recent trending IC design directions and challenges, and try to give the readers big/cool pictures on each selected small/hot topics. | 19 | OPERATIONAL TROPICAL CYCLONE FORECAST VERIFICATION PRACTICE IN THE WESTERN NORTH PACIFIC REGION显示文摘This paper summarizes results of a survey of the operational status of tropical cyclone(TC) forecast verifi-cation in the western North Pacific region, covering the Members of the ESCAP/WMO Typhoon Committee, RSMC Tokyo-Typhoon Center, and JTWC. Results of the survey indicate that significant efforts have been focused on the verification of TC forecast guidance by operational forecast agencies in the region, either individually or through international cooperation. A variety of TC forecast verification products are available to the forecasters in either real time or in post-season through multiple means, with the main focus on the deterministic track and intensity forecasts. Only a few verification products are available for probabilistic forecasts. Verification of TC precipitation and high wind forecasts are also lacking sufficient attention in the region.
