| 2 | Precise localization of small pulmonary nodules using Pre-VATS with Xper-CT in combination with real-time fluoroscopy-guided coil:report of 15 patients显示文摘Purpose: This study aimed to evaluate the value of precise localization of nodules using pre-video-assisted thoracic surgery(VATS) Xper–CT in combination with real-time fluoroscopy-guided coil in the resection of pulmonary nodules using VATS. Materials and Methods: Precise localization of nodules using Xper-CT in combination with real-time fluoroscopy-guided coil and wedge resection using VATS were conducted on 15 patients with 17 small pulmonary nodules(diameter 0.5–1.5 cm) from April 2015 to January 2016. The value of localization was evaluated in terms of procedure time, type of coils, associated complications of localization, and VATS success rate. Results: The success rate of coil localization was found to be 100% in the primary stage(as shown by the CT scan), and the average procedure time was 30–45 min(35.6 ± 3.05 min). No deaths or major complications occurred. Minor complications included five incidents of pneumothorax(the morbidity was 29.4%, 5/17; no patient required chest tube drainage). The dislocation of coil was found in one patient. The results of pathological examination of 17 small pulmonary nodules revealed 11 primary lung cancers, 1 mesenchymal tumor, 3 nonspecific chronic inflammations, 1 hamartoma, and 1 tuberculosis. Two patients with primary lung cancer underwent lobectomy with mediastinal lymph node dissection. Conclusion: The preoperative precise localization of small pulmonary nodules using Xper-CT-guided coil is an effective and safe technique. It helps in the resection of nodules using VATS. | 6 | VqMYB154 promotes polygene expression and enhances resistance to pathogens in Chinese wild grapevine显示文摘Resveratrol plays a crucial phytoalexin role in the grapevine and is beneficial to human health.However,the molecular mechanism of resveratrol accumulation in the enhancement of disease resistance is unclear.Here,we report that the transcription factor VqMYB154 from Vitis quinquangularis accession Danfeng-2 is strongly expressed under artificial inoculation with Uncinula necator and regulates resveratrol accumulation.Unlike its homolog,VqMYB154 has a pathogen-induced promoter and responds to stimulation by U.necator,Pseudomonas syringae,and other treatments.Yeast one-hybrid and GUS activity assays confirmed that VqMYB154 can activate the stilbene synthase genes VqSTS9,VqSTS32,and VqSTS42 by directly binding to their promoters.Overexpression of VqMYB154 in grape leaves resulted in activation of the stilbene pathway,upregulation of STS genes,and accumulation of stilbenoids.In addition,heterologous overexpression of VqMYB154 in Arabidopsis activated resistance-related genes and resulted in greater programmed cell death and accumulation of reactive oxygen species,which led to resistance against P.syringae.These results suggest that the transcription factor VqMYB154 from V.quinquangularis accession Danfeng-2 participates in the regulatory mechanism that improves the biosynthesis and accumulation of stilbenes and enhances resistance to disease in grapevine. | Changyue Jiang Dan Wang Jie Zhang Yan Xu Chaohong Zhang Jianxia Zhang Xiping Wang Yuejin Wang | 2021 | Horticulture Research2021,8,1: | 2 |
| 7 | Discovery of ferrocene-carborane derivatives as novel chemical antimicrobial agents against multidrug-resistant bacteria显示文摘Antimicrobial resistance has now become a very serious global public health problem. New drug discovery and development are urgently needed to combat the growing threat of multidrug-resistant (MDR) bacteria. The aim of this study was to explore the potential application of three ferrocene-carborane derivatives as new promising agents to confront the problem of increasing antibiotic resistance. The results of agar diffusion bioassay, minimal inhibitory concentrations (MIC) testing and time-kill assay illustrate their broad-spectrum antimicrobial activities to both American Type Culture Collection (ATCC) control strains and MDR clinical isolates. It is evident that the relevant antimicrobial properties are all in a dose-dependent manner and gradually transform into a bactericidal effect from a bacteriostatic effect with the increasing of the drug concentration. Furthermore, these ferrocene-carborane derivatives have no/little toxic effect on normal cells like HELF cells and lead to little hemolysis at their MICs. | 13 | New strategy for reversing biofilm-associated antibiotic resistance through ferrocene-substituted carborane ruthenium(Ⅱ)-arene complex显示文摘Bacterial biofilms are inherently resistant to antimicrobial agents and are difficult to eradicate with conventional antimicrobial agents, resulting in many persistent and chronic bacterial infections. In this contribution, a new strategy for reversing the biofilm-associated antibiotic resistance has been explored by induction of a carborane ruthenium(II)-arene complex (FcRuSB). Our results demonstrate that the FcRuSB could be utilized as an inducer to efficiently reverse the biofilm-associated antibiotic resistance of multidrug-resistant (MDR) clinical isolates of Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The induced effect of FcRuSB is correlated with a considerable decrease in the expression of extracellular matrix proteins (EMP) of the two strains. | 15 | Variations in terrestrial oxygen sources under climate change显示文摘The terrestrial ecosystem is an important source of atmospheric oxygen, and its changes are closely related to variations in atmospheric oxygen level. However, few studies have focused on the characteristics and driving forces behind terrestrial ecosystem oxygen sources. In this study, based on observations and net carbon flux simulations from the Sixth Coupled Model Intercomparison Project, we investigated temporal and spatial variations in terrestrial oxygen sources. As the largest source of atmospheric oxygen, the terrestrial ecosystem can produce approximately 7.10±0.38 gigatons of oxygen per year, and the tropics are the main oxygen producing regions. Notably, there are many “non-oxygen-producing lands”, where the lands no longer provide oxygen to the atmosphere, located in the high latitudes and around the deserts of Central Asia. Long-term analysis reveals that anthropogenic activities and climate change are responsible for the variations in terrestrial oxygen sources owing to land-use changes and competing effects between net photosynthesis and heterotrophic respiration. By 2100, more oxygen will be produced from the low-middle latitudes, while the high latitudes will serve as a larger oxygen sink due to extreme land-use type changes and drastic increases in soil respiration. | 17 | Engineering hierarchical heterostructure material based on metal-organic frameworks and cotton fiber for high-efficient microwave absorber显示文摘Rational construction of hierarchical multi-component materials with abundant heterostructure is evolving as a promising strategy to achieve excellent metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)based electromagnetic wave(EMW)absorbers.Herein,hierarchical heterostructure WS_(2)/CoS_(2)@carbonized cotton fiber(CCF)was fabricated using the ZIF-67 MOFs nanosheets anchored cotton fiber(ZIF-67@CF)as a precursor through the tungsten etching,sulfurization,and carbonization process.Apart from the synergetic effect of dielectric-magnetic dual-loss mechanism,the hierarchical heterostructure and multicomponent of WS_(2)/CoS_(2)@CCF also display improved impedance matching.Furthermore,numerous W-S-Co bands and heterojunction interfaces of heterogeneous WS_(2)/CoS_(2)are beneficial to promoting additional interfacial/dipole polarization loss and conductive loss,thereby enhancing the EMW attenuation performance.Based on the percolation theory,a good balance between impedance matching and EMW absorption capacity was achieved for the WS_(2)/CoS_(2)@CCF/paraffin composite with 20 wt.%filler loading,exhibiting strong EMW absorption capability with a minimum reflection loss(RLmin)value of−51.26 dB at 17.36 GHz with 2 mm thickness and a maximum effective absorption bandwidth(EABmax)as wide as 6.72 GHz.Our research will provide new guidance for designing high-efficient MOFs derived EMW absorbers. | Yan Guo Hu Liu Dedong Wang Zeinhom M.El-Bahy Jalal T.Althakafy Hala M.Abo-Dief Zhanhu Guo Ben Bin Xu Chuntai Liu Changyu Shen | 2022 | Nano Research2022,15,8: | 0 |
