Pigsties near dwellings as a potential risk factor for the prevalence of Japanese encephalitis virus in adult in Shanxi,China显示文摘Background:The increasing trend of adult cases of Japanese encephalitis(JE)in China, particularly in northern China, has become an important public health issue. We conducted an epidemiological investigation in the south of Shanxi Province to examine the relationships between mosquitoes,Japanese encephalitis virus(JEV),and adult JE cases. Methods:Mosquito specimens were collected from the courtyards of farmers’households and pig farms in Shanxi Province.Mosquitoes were pooled, homogenized, and centrifuged.Reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR)was used to detect mosquito-borne arbovirus genes in homogenates.Specimens positive for these genes were inoculated into the baby hamster kidney cell line(BHK-21)to isolate virus.Minimum infection rate was calculated and phylogenetic analyses were performed. Results:A total of 7943 mosquitoes belonging to six species in four genera were collected;Culex tritaeniorhynchus accounted for 73.08%(5805/7943),C.pipiens pallens for 24.75%(1966/7943),and the remaining 3%(104/7943)consisted of Anopheles sinensis,Aedes vexans,Ae.dorsalis, and Armigeres subalbatus.Sixteen pools were positive for JEV based on RT-PCR using JEV pre-membrane gene nested primers.Phylogenetic analyses showed that all JEVs belonged to genotype I;two pools were positive using Getah Virus(GETV)gene primers. In addition, one JEV strain(SXYC1523)was isolated from C.pipiens pallens specimens. These results indicate that the minimum infection rate of JEV in mosquito specimens collected from the courtyards of farmers’households with pigsties was 7.39/1000;the rate for pig farms was 2.68/1000;and the rate for farmers’courtyards without pigsties was zero. Conclusions:The high-prevalence regions of adult JE investigated in this study are still the natural epidemic focus of JEV.Having pigsties near dwellings is a potential risk factor contributing to the prevalence of adult JE.To prevent the occurrence of local adult JE cases,a recommendation was raised that, besides continuing to implement the Expanded Program on Immunization for children, the government should urge local farmers to cease raising pigs in their own courtyards to reduce the probability of infection with JEV. | Xiaojie Ren Shihong Fu Peifang Dai Huanyu Wang Yuanyuan Li Xiaolong Li Wenwen Lei Xiaoyan Gao Ying He Zhi Lv Jingxia Cheng Guiqin Wang Guodong Liang | 2017 | Infectious Diseases of Poverty2017,6,1: | 6
Re-isolation of Wuxiang Virus from Wild Sandflies Collected from Yangquan County, China显示文摘We previously isolated a new species of the genus Phlebovirus from wild sandflies collected from Wuxiang County in central China, which named the Wuxiang virus(WUXV).In this study,we re-isolated the WUXV from wild sandflies collected from two villages in Yangquan County,China in 2019.Four virus isolates that caused cytopathic effects in BHK-21 cells were successfully isolated from sandfly specimens collected from chicken pens and sheep pens.Phylogenetic analyses of the L,M and S gene segments of the viruses revealed that the four virus strains represented the previously isolated WUXV.The minimum infection rate(MIR)of the virus isolated from the sheep pen was 3.21,and the MIR of the virus isolated from the chicken pen was 3.45.The positive rates of Wuxiang virus neutralizing antibodies in serum samples of local healthy people and domestic chickens were 8.7%(4/46)and 100%(4/4),respectively,suggesting that Wuxiang virus can infect human and animal. In view of the fact that Wuxiang virus is infectious to humans and animals and has a relatively wide geographical distribution in China,it is of great public health significance to strengthen the investigation and study on the infection status of Wuxiang virus in humans and animals. | Qinyan Wang Shihong Fu Jingxia Cheng Xiuyan Xu Jing Wang Bin Wu Xiaodong Tian Yan Li Ying He Fan Li Kai Nie Songtao Xu Bin Wang Huanyu Wang Xiaoqing Lu Guodong Liang | 2021 | Virologica Sinica2021,36,5: | 4

Active probing based Internet service fault management in uncertain and noisy environment显示文摘In Internet service fault management based on active probing, uncertainty and noises will affect service fault management. In order to reduce the impact, challenges of Internet service fault management are analyzed in this paper. Bipartite Bayesian network is chosen to model the dependency relationship between faults and probes, binary symmetric channel is chosen to model noises, and a service fault management approach using active probing is proposed for such an environment. This approach is composed of two phases:fault detection and fault diagnosis. In first phase,we propose a greedy approximation probe selection algorithm(GAPSA) ,which selects a minimal set of probes while remaining a high probability of fault detection. In second phase,we propose a fault diagnosis probe selection algorithm(FDPSA) ,which selects probes to obtain more system information based on the symptoms observed in previous phase. To deal with dynamic fault set caused by fault recovery mechanism,we propose a hypothesis inference algorithm based on fault persistent time statistic(FPTS) . Simulation results prove the validity and efficiency of our approach. | CHU LingWei ZOU ShiHong CHENG ShiDuan WANG WenDong | 2008 | Science in China(Series F)2008,51,11: | 2
Taking the pulse of COVID-19:a spatiotemporal perspective显示文摘The sudden outbreak of the Coronavirus disease(COVID-19)swept across the world in early 2020,triggering the lockdowns of several billion people across many countries, including China,Spain,India, the U.K.,Italy,France,Germany,Brazil,Russia,and the U.S.The transmission of the virus accelerated rapidly with the most confirmed cases in the U.S.,India,Russia,and Brazil. In response to this national and global emergency, the NSF Spatiotemporal Innovation Center brought together a taskforce of international researchers and assembled implementation strategies to rapidly respond to this crisis, for supporting research, saving lives, and protecting the health of global citizens. This perspective paper presents our collective view on the global health emergency and our effort in collecting, analyzing, and sharing relevant data on global policy and government responses, human mobility, environmental impact, socioeconomical impact;in developing research capabilities and mitigation measures with global scientists, promoting collaborative research on outbreak dynamics, and reflecting on the dynamic responses from human societies. | Chaowei Yang Dexuan Sha Qian Liu Yun Li Hai Lan Weihe Wendy Guan Tao Hu Zhenlong Li Zhiran Zhang John Hoot Thompson Zifu Wang David Wong Shiyang Ruan Manzhu Yu Douglas Richardson Luyao Zhang Ruizhi Hou You Zhoua Cheng Zhong Yifei Tian Fayez Beaini Kyla Carte Colin Flynn Wei Liu Dieter Pfoser Shuming Bao Mei Li Haoyuan Zhang Chunbo Liu Jie Jiang Shihong Du Liang Zhao Mingyue Lu Lin Li Huan Zhou Andrew Ding | 2020 | International Journal of Digital Earth2020,13,10: | 2

Controlling dynamic recrystallization via modified LPSO phase morphology and distribution in Mg-Gd-Y-Zn-Zr alloy显示文摘Featured initial microstructures of Mg-11Gd-4Y-2Zn-0.5Zr alloy(wt%) were obtained by adjusting temperatures of solid solution and cooling methods, including island intergranular 18R and 14H LPSO phases with low-density stacking faults, differentially spaced lamellar intragranular 14H-LPSO phases, and network intergranular 18R-LPSO phases with high-density intragranular stacking faults. Effects of these featured LPSO phases and stacking faults on dynamic recrystallization(DRX) behavior were investigated via hot compression. Promoted DRX behavior via particle stimulated nucleation(PSN) is introduced by coexisting intergranular island 18R and 14H LPSO phases and intragranular wide spacing lamellar 14H-LPSO phases, contributing the highest DRX fraction of 42.6%. Conversely, it is found that DRX behavior with network intergranular 18R-LPSO phases and dense intragranular stacking fault is considerably inhibited with the lowest fraction of 22.8%. That is, the restricted DRX due to dislocations pinning by stacking faults overwhelms the enhanced DRX behavior via PSN of island intergranular 18R and 14H LPSO phases. Specially, compared with dense intragranular lamellar 14H-LPSO phases, high-density stacking faults exert a larger inhibition effect on DRX behavior. | Ce Zheng Shuaifeng Chen Ming Cheng Shihong Zhang Yingju Li Yuansheng Yang | 2023 | Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2023,11,11: | 1

Biomaterials and tissue engineering in traumatic brain injury:novel perspectives on promoting neural regeneration显示文摘Traumatic brain injury is a serious medical condition that can be attributed to falls, motor vehicle accidents, sports injuries and acts of violence, causing a series of neural injuries and neuropsychiatric symptoms. However, limited accessibility to the injury sites, complicated histological and anatomical structure, intricate cellular and extracellular milieu, lack of regenerative capacity in the native cells, vast variety of damage routes, and the insufficient time available for treatment have restricted the widespread application of several therapeutic methods in cases of central nervous system injury. Tissue engineering and regenerative medicine have emerged as innovative approaches in the field of nerve regeneration. By combining biomaterials, stem cells, and growth factors, these approaches have provided a platform for developing effective treatments for neural injuries, which can offer the potential to restore neural function, improve patient outcomes, and reduce the need for drugs and invasive surgical procedures. Biomaterials have shown advantages in promoting neural development, inhibiting glial scar formation, and providing a suitable biomimetic neural microenvironment, which makes their application promising in the field of neural regeneration. For instance, bioactive scaffolds loaded with stem cells can provide a biocompatible and biodegradable milieu. Furthermore, stem cells-derived exosomes combine the advantages of stem cells, avoid the risk of immune rejection, cooperate with biomaterials to enhance their biological functions, and exert stable functions, thereby inducing angiogenesis and neural regeneration in patients with traumatic brain injury and promoting the recovery of brain function. Unfortunately, biomaterials have shown positive effects in the laboratory, but when similar materials are used in clinical studies of human central nervous system regeneration, their efficacy is unsatisfactory. Here, we review the characteristics and properties of various bioactive materials, followed by the introduction of applications based on biochemistry and cell molecules, and discuss the emerging role of biomaterials in promoting neural regeneration. Further, we summarize the adaptive biomaterials infused with exosomes produced from stem cells and stem cells themselves for the treatment of traumatic brain injury. Finally, we present the main limitations of biomaterials for the treatment of traumatic brain injury and offer insights into their future potential. | Shihong Zhu Xiaoyin Liu Xiyue Lu Qiang Liao Huiyang Luo Yuan Tian Xu Cheng Yaxin Jiang Guangdi Liu Jing Chen | 2024 | Neural Regeneration Research2024,19,10: | 0
