3High-throughput computational screening of Cu-MOFs with open metal sites for efficient C_2H_2/C_2H_4 separation显示文摘Cost effective separation of acetylene(C_2H_2)and ethylene(C_2H_4)is of key importance to obtain essential chemical raw materials for polymer industry.Due to the low compression limit of C_2H_2,there is an urgent demand to develop suitable materials for efficiently separating the two gases under ambient conditions.In this paper,we provided a high-throughput screening strategy to study porous metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)containing open metal sites(OMS)for C_2H_2/C_2H_4 separation,followed by a rational design of novel MOFs in-silico.A set of accurate force fields was established from ab initio calculations to describe the critical role of OMS towards guest molecules.From a large-scale computational screening of 916 experimental Cu-paddlewheel-based MOFs,three materials were identified with excellent separation performance.The structure-performance relationships revealed that the optimal materials should have the largest cavity diameter around 5-10?and pore volume in-between 0.3-1.0 cm^3 g^(-1).Based on the systematic screening study result,three novel MOFs were further designed with the incorporation of fluorine functional group.The results showed that Cu-OMS and the-F group on the aromatic rings close to Cu sites could generate a synergistic effect on the preferential adsorption of C_2H_2 over C_2H_4,leading to a remarkable improvement of C_2H_2 separation performance of the materials.The findings could provide insight for future experimental design and synthesis of high-performance nanostructured materials for C_2H_2/C_2H_4 separation.Lei Liu Lei Wang Dahuan Liu Qingyuan Yang Chongli Zhong 2020Green Energy & Environment2020,5,3:5
4Crystalline Silicotitanate: a New Type of Ion Exchanger for Cs Removal from Liquid Waste显示文摘The research and developments of a new type of inorganic ion exchanger, crystalline silicotitanate (CST) are reviewed. This material is stable against radiation, and the CST has high selectivity for Cs over Na, K and Rb. It performs well in acidic, neutral, and basic solutions. 6A new gain-of-function OsGS2/GRF4 allele generated by CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing increases rice grain size and yield显示文摘Grain size is one of the most important factors affecting rice grain quality and yield,and attracts great attention from molecular biologists and breeders.In this study,we engineered a CRISPR/Cas9 system targeting the miR396 recognition site of the rice GS2 gene,which encodes growth-regulating factor 4(OsGRF4)and regulates multiple agronomic traits including grain size,grain quality,nitrogen use efficiency,abiotic stress response,and seed shattering.In contrast to most previous genome editing efforts in which indel mutations were chosen to obtain null mutants,a mutant named GS2^(E) carrying an in-frame 6-bp deletion and 1-bp substitution within the miR396-targeted sequence was identified.GS2^(E) plants showed increased expression of GS2 in consistent with impaired repression by miR396.As expected,the gain-of-function GS2^(E) mutant exhibited multiple beneficial traits including increased grain size and yield and bigger grain length/width ratio.Thousand grain weight and grain yield per plant of GS2^(E) plants were increased by 23.5%and 10.4%,respectively.These improved traits were passed to hybrids in a semidominant way,suggesting that the new GS2^(E) allele has great potential in rice improvement.Taken together,we report new GS2 germplasm and describe a novel gene-editing strategy that can be widely employed to improve grain size and yield in rice.This trait-improvement strategy could be applied to other genes containing miRNA target sites,in particular the conserved miR396-GRF/GIF module that governs plant growth,development and environmental response.Wenshu Wang Weipeng Wang Yanlin Pan Chao Tan Hongjing Li Ya Chen Xingdan Liu Jing Wei Nian Xu Yu Han Han Gu Rongjian Ye Qi Ding Chonglie Ma 2022The Crop Journal2022,10,4:3

8High-throughput computational screening and design of nanoporous materials for methane storage and carbon dioxide capture显示文摘The globally increasing concentrations of greenhouse gases in atmosphere after combustion of coal-or petroleum-based fuels give rise to tremendous interest in searching for porous materials to efficiently capture carbon dioxide(CO_2) and store methane(CH4), where the latter is a kind of clean energy source with abundant reserves and lower CO_2 emission. Hundreds of thousands of porous materials can be enrolled on the candidate list, but how to quickly identify the really promising ones, or even evolve materials(namely, rational design high-performing candidates) based on the large database of present porous materials? In this context, high-throughput computational techniques, which have emerged in the past few years as powerful tools, make the targets of fast evaluation of adsorbents and evolving materials for CO_2 capture and CH_4 storage feasible. 10Water boosted CO_(2)/C_(2)H_(2)separation in L-arginine functionalized metal–organic framework显示文摘The separation of CO_(2)/C_(2)H_(2)mixture by CO_(2)-selective sorbents is an energy-efficient C_(2)H_(2)purification technique,but is strategically challenging due to their similar molecular size and physicochemical properties.Meanwhile,water is inevitable in CO_(2)/C_(2)H_(2)mixture and it is usually a significant barrier because of its competitive adsorption with CO_(2).To address this challenge,herein,we report the first example of metal–organic framework(MOF)that exhibits water-boosted CO_(2)adsorption and CO_(2)/C_(2)H_(2)separation by anchoring L-arginine(ARG)on the Zr6 cluster of MOF-808.The CO_(2)affinity and capacity in the resulting MOF-808-ARG are markedly facilitated by the presence of water,while the C_(2)H_(2)adsorption is significantly suppressed.Specifically,CO_(2)adsorption capacities in adsorption isotherm and breakthrough measurement are increased to 143%and 184%,respectively.In addition,the wet MOF-808-ARG exhibits the record CO_(2)/C_(2)H_(2)selectivity of 1,180 under zero coverage.Breakthrough experiments reveal that CO_(2)/C_(2)H_(2)mixture can be completely separated and the result of mass spectrometry indicates that the C_(2)H_(2)purity in the outlet is up to 99.9%.In situ infrared(IR)results and density functional theory(DFT)calculations reveal the water-promoted CO_(2)adsorption mechanism that the formation of bicarbonate products in the presence of water is thermodynamically and kinetically more favorable than that without water.Moreover,MOF-808-ARG also possesses excellent water stability and excellent regeneration of CO_(2)adsorption.This work provides a new paradigm by transforming the negative effects of water into positive ones for CO_(2)/C_(2)H_(2)separation.Hejin Zhu Wenjuan Xue Hongliang Huang Lvyun Chen Haoyu Liu Chongli Zhong 2023Nano Research2023,16,5:2
11Effects of Zinc on Physiologic Characterization and Cadmium Accumulation and Chemical Forms in Different Varieties of Pepper显示文摘The effects of zinc(Zn) at different spray concentrations(0, 500, and 1 0001μmol L) on the plant growth, the activities of antioxidant enzymes chemical forms of cadmium(Cd), and the accumulation of Cd were studied and compared between two varieties, Shijichaotianjiao(SJCTJ) and Yanjiao425(YJ425) of pepper(Capsicum annuum L.) in Cd-contaminated soil(Cd 10 1mg kg). The activities of catalase(CAT) and peroxidase(POD) were generally enhanced by Zn. However, superoxide dismutase(SOD) decreased. 12Air-Steam Etched Construction of Hierarchically Porous Metal-Organic Frameworks显示文摘The introduction of mesoporosity into the microporous metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)is expected to expand their applications.Herein,we report a green and facile method to obtain hierarchically porous MOF structures by using an air-steam etching process.By virtue of the protonation reaction between the imidazole moiety and water vapor,the protonated imidazole related linkers leave the framework,resulting in the formation of mesopores in the zeolitic imidazolate frameworks(ZIFs),as exemplified by ZIF-8.Given the mild etching process,the materials'structural integrity and crystallinity are well maintained.Accordingly,the hierarchical porous ZIF-8 exhibited enhanced performance in the dye removal as well as CO_(2) cycloaddition reaction with epichlorohydrin in comparison with microporous ZIF-8,owing to the accelerated mass transfer arising from mesoporous structures.Remarkably,the proposed steam etching approach is generally applicable,which can be readily extended to other ZIFs,such as ZIF-14,ZIF-69,and ZIF-71,thus representing a powerful strategy to construct hierarchically porous MOF materials.Hongliang Huang Yuxiu Sun Xuemeng Jia Wenjuan Xue Chenxu Geng Xin Zhao Donghai Mei Chongli Zhong 2021Chinese Journal of Chemistry2021,39,6:2
