1Investigation to meet China Ⅱ emission legislation for marine diesel engine with diesel methanol compound combustion technology显示文摘In order to reduce the pollutant emission and alleviate the pressure of petroleum resources shortage and greenhouse gas emission at the same time,the use of clean and renewable alternative fuel for marine engines is a promising option.In this study,a marine diesel engine,which was modified to run in diesel methanol compound combustion (DMCC) mode,was investigated.After the diesel injection parameters were calibrated,and combined with a sample after-treatment device DOC (diesel oxidation catalyst),the engine could meet the requirements of China II legislation.The overall MSP (methanol substitute percent) reached 54.1%.The value of each pollutant emission was much lower than that in China II emission legislation,and there was almost no methanol and formaldehyde emissions.When methanol was injected into the inlet manifold,the intake air temperature decreased a lot,as well as the exhaust gas temperature,which were beneficial to increase engine thermal efficiency and improve engine room environment.Compared with the engine running in pure diesel mode,when the engine ran in diesel/methanol dual fuel mode,the combustion phase was advanced,and the combustion duration became shorter.Therefore,the engine thermal efficiency increased,and fuel consumption decreased significantly.Hui Wang Anren Yao Chunde Yao Bin Wang Taoyang Wu Chao Chen 2020Journal of Environmental Sciences2020,32,10:8
2High-resolution linkage and quantitative trait locus mapping using an interspecific cross between Argopecten irradians irradians(♀) and A. purpuratus (♂)显示文摘The bay scallop and Peruvian scallop are economically important species.Interspecific hybrids of these two scallops outperformed both of their parent species in multiple growth traits but exhibited decreased fertility,which provides good models for the study of heterosis and species divergence.Genetic mapping serves as a chromosomal-level framework to investigate the molecular mechanisms of hybridization and introgression.In this study,high-resolution linkage maps were constructed for the bay and Peruvian scallops with an interspecific hybrid family.The linkage map of the bay scallop covered over 98.9% of the whole genome with 2994 mapped markers and the average marker interval of 0.32 cM.For the Peruvian scallop,1585 markers were mapped with the average maker interval of 0.51 cM,covering 97.7% of the genome.Both the two linkage maps have 16 linkage groups,corresponding to the haploid chromosome number of the two species.Approximately,54.5% of markers exhibited significant deviation from the expected Mendelian ratio of segregation,lending in sights into the intrinsic incompatibility between the two species.QTLs related to growth and shell coloration were detected,which could explain 13.1%and 74.9% of the phenotypic variance,respectively.This represents important information for further evaluation.These findings are an important addition to the genomic resources for scallop genetic studies,and are especially useful for investigations on genomic incompatibility for hybridization,genome evolution of closely related species,and genetic enhancement programs in aquaculture.Junxia Mao Qifan Zeng Zujing Yang Haoyuan Pan Lijie Yao Zhenmin Bao Chunde Wang Shi Wang 2020Marine Life Science & Technology2020,2,2:1

4Influential factors of formation kinetics of flocs produced by water treatment coagulants显示文摘The growth rate and size of floc formation is of great importance in water treatment especially in coagulation process.The floc formation kinetics and the coagulation efficiency of synthetic water were investigated by using an on-line continuous optical photometric dispersion analyze and the analysis of water quality.Experimental conditions such as alum dosage,pH value for coagulation,stirring intensity and initial turbidity were extensively examined.The photometric dispersion analyze results showed that coagulation of kaolin suspensions with two coagulants(alum and polyaluminium chloride) could be taken as a two-phase process:slow and rapid growth periods.Operating conditions with higher coagulant doses,appropriate pH and average shear rate might be particularly advantageous.The rate of overall floc growth was mainly determined by a combination of hydraulic and water quality conditions such as pH and turbidity.The measurement of zeta potential indicates that polyaluminium chloride exhibited higher charge-neutralizing ability than alum and achieved lower turbidities than alum for equivalent Al dosages.Under the same operating conditions,the alum showed a higher grow rate,but with smaller floc size.Chunde Wu Lin Wang Bing Hu Jian Ye 2013Journal of Environmental Sciences2013,25,5:1

12Clinical outcomes of adult medulloblastoma:A retrospective analysis at a single institute显示文摘Objectives: Adult medulloblastoma is a rare tumor, and few retrospective studies on medulloblastoma have been published to date. A standard treatment regimen has not yet been established. Accordingly, this study was designed to determine the treatment outcomes and prognostic factors for patients with adult medulloblastoma.Methods: We retrospectively reviewed all cases of adult medulloblastoma at the Beijing Tiantan Hospital between 2004 and 2007. There were 33 patients in total. Tumor removal followed by radiotherapy was performed in all patients. Five patients received maintenance chemotherapy after radiotherapy. Statistical analysis was performed using the log‐rank test, Kaplan–Meier method, and Cox regression analysis. Results: The median follow‐up period was 73 months. The 5‐year progression‐free survival(PFS) and overall survival(OS) rates were 45.5% ± 8.7% and 51.5% ± 8.7%,respectively. Recurrence or progression was observed in 21 patients, and 14 patients were still alive. Tumor location at the midline with infiltration to the floor of the fourth ventricle was associated with the worst PFS and OS(P = 0.032). Hemispheric desmoplastic/nodular medulloblastomas(DNMBs) were associated with a better outcome than midline DNMB. The average‐risk group tended to have a better 5‐year PFS rate than the high‐risk group(P = 0.065). Conclusions: Tumor location is an important prognostic marker for adulthood MB.We propose a molecular and clinical staging system should be established for adulthood MB. 13Integrated modeling of nitrogen oxides formation in diesel engines显示文摘To account for the effects of both chemistry and flow turbulence, the present study proposes an integrated NO sub-model that combines the extended Zel'dovich mechanism and engine CFD computations to simulate the NO histories in a diesel engine. NOx sub-model parameters and pollutant formation mechanisms can be more easily investigated by solving the NOx sub-model. The new NO formation model incorporating the effects of both chemical kinetics and turbulent mixing was applied to simulate a diesel engine with a quiescent combustion chamber, and one with a re-entrant combustion chamber; the premise of the model being the reaction rate is mainly determined by a kinetic timescale and a turbulent timescale. The results indicate that the predicted NO formulation from the new model agrees well with the measured data. As the utilization of fossil fuels continues to increase, the control of NOx emissions is a worldwide concern; and it is imperative to understand fully the NOx reaction processes in combustion systems. 14Production traits and fertility of reciprocal hybrids between Argopecten irradians irradians and A.i.concentricus显示文摘The two bay scallop subspecies,Argopecten irradians irradians(NN)and A.i.concentricus(SS),are fast growing and major cultured bivalves in China.However,their relatively small sizes and decreasing production traits caused by long-term inbreeding have been major concerns to the industry in the last two decades.Hybridization between the two bay scallop subspecies may provide a new approach to breed a new variety with superior production traits for the industry.For this end,in this study,we hybridized the two bay scallop subspecies in order to obtain a new strain that incorporates the genes of both subspecies.No significant difference was found in fertilization rate,hatching rate and metamorphosis rate between the purebred and crossbred cohorts(NN♀×SS♂,denoted as NS;SS♀×NN♂,denoted as SN).Both mating strategy(intra-vs.inter-population crosses)and egg origin had significant effects on growth and survival at the larval stage.Heterosis was observed in the crossbred and was more pronounced in older stages.Genetic diversity of the reciprocal hybrids,especially that of SN,was increased compared with the purebred cohorts.Almost all hybrids were completely fertile and able to reproduce by selffertilization or by backcrossing with either parent.Apparently,male sterile individuals whose gonads were fully occupied by the ovary part at mature stage were found in the hybrids for the first time.The hybrids,especially SN,may provide precious germplasm resources for the production of ternary hybrids with the Peruvian scallop,A.purpuratus.Jinjing WANG Junhao NING Xia LU Min CHEN Guilong LIU Xin XU Quanchao WANG He XU Chunde WANG 2024Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2024,42,1:0
15Characterization of Wnt genes in Argopecten scallops and their involvement in response to different temperature stresses in“Bohai Red”scallops显示文摘As“Bohai Red”scallops were originated from the hybrids between the Peruvian scallop(Argopecten purpuratus)and the bay scallop(Argopecten irradians)northern subspecies(Argopecten irradians irradians).Twelve Wnt members were identified from the two subspecies of bay scallop,and 13 Wnt genes were found in the genome of the Peruvian scallop.Protein structure analyses showed that most Wnt genes poses all 5 conserved motifs except Wnt1,Wnt2,Wnt6,and Wnt9 in the bay scallops and Wnt2 and Wnt9 in the Peruvian scallop.Unexpectedly,Wnt8 gene was present while Wnt3 was absent in both the bay scallops and the Peruvian scallop.Phylogenetic analysis revealed that Wnt3 might have disappeared in the early evolution of mollusks.The expression profile of Wnt genes in the“Bohai Red”exposed to different temperatures was examined by qRT-PCR.Results show that expression of Wnt genes responded differentially to temperature changes.The Wnt genes such as Wnt1,Wnt6,Wnt7,Wnt11,and WntA that responded slowly to low and high temperature stresses may be related to the maintenance of basic homeostasis.Other Wnt genes such as Wnt4,Wnt9,Wnt5,and Wnt2 that responded rapidly to low temperature may play an important role in organismal protection against low temperature stress.And yet some Wnt genes including Wnt10,Wnt16,and Wnt8 that responded quickly to high temperature stress may play key roles in response to high temperature stress.The results provide new insights into the evolution and function of Wnt genes in bivalves and eventually benefit culture of“Bohai Red”scallops.Caihui WANG Shuhua LEI Min CHEN Junhao NING Xia LU Jinsheng ZHANG Bo LIU Chunde WANG 2023Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2023,41,3:0
16Effects of acute and chronic thermal stress on survival,apoptosis,and transcriptional responses of Scapharca broughtonii显示文摘Ocean warming is altering the habitats of marine invertebrates,which has resulted in an increased physiological stress to marine molluscs,especially those intertidal bivalves,such as the ark shell Scapharca broughtonii.We investigated the physiological and transcriptional responses of ark shells to acute and chronic thermal stress results showed that at 33℃,a significantly higher cumulative mortality(55.7%)occurred under acute thermal stress than chronic thermal stress.The apoptosis rate of hemocytes was sustained at higher levels and the necrosis rate was increased significantly in a time-dependent manner under acute thermal stress.However,under chronic thermal stress,the apoptosis and necrosis rates exhibited similar change trends:a rapid increase followed by a gradual decline and sustained at a relatively high level until the end of the experiment.The expressions of heat shock protein genes(HSP20 and HSP90),apoptosis-related genes(TRAF6,GRP78,NIX,and Casp-3),antioxidative-related genes(GST and MRP)and cellular detoxification-related genes(HbⅡB,NOS-1,HO-1,and ENO-1)were upregulated significantly under both acute and chronic thermal stresses.These results demonstrated that the anti-apoptotic system,antioxidant defense system,cellular detoxification system,and heat shock proteins(HSPs)played vital roles for ark shells in response to thermal stress.As acute thermal stress can result in irreversible damage to marine molluscs,it is thus advised that chronic thermal stress should be used to select thermal-resistant ark shell strains.Desheng ZOU Weian CAO Guilong LIU Junhao NING Xia LU Jinjing WANG Min CHEN Bo LIU Jinsheng ZHANG Chunde WANG 2023Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2023,41,6:0
