| 1 | Monitoring of non-point source pollutants load from a mixed forest land use显示文摘The aim of this study was to determine the unit load of NPS (non-point source) pollutants including organic variables such as BOD (biochemical oxygen demand),COD (chemical oxygen demand) and DOC (dissolved organic carbon),nitrogen and phosphorus constituents,and suspended solids (SS) and their event mean concentration (EMC) of runoff flows from a water-shed of mixed forest land use by intensive field experiments.Field monitoring for continuous measurements of rainfall,flow,and water quality was conducted over 12 storm events during 2008–2009 using automated and manual sampling methods.The EMCs of individual runoff event were estimated for each water quality constituent based on the flow rate and concentration data of runoff discharge.The average EMCs of BOD,COD,DOC,SS,TN (total nitrogen),NH 4+ -N,NO 3- -N,TP (total phosphorus),PO 43- -P from the mixed forest land were 1.794,3.498,1.462,10.269,0.862,0.044,0.634,0.034,and 0.005 mg/L,respectively.The annual unit loads of BOD,COD,DOC,SS,TN,NH 4+ -N,NO 3- -N,TP and PO 43--P were estimated as 66.9,133.2,55.5,429.8,36.5,1.6,26.9,1.3 and 0.1 kg/(ha·yr),respectively.In addition,affecting parameters on the EMCs were investigated by statistic analysis of the field data.As a result,significant correlations with precipitation,rainfall intensity,and total runoff flows were found in most constituents. | Sung Wan Yoon Se Woong Chung Dong Geun Oh Jae Woon Lee | 2010 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2010，22，6： | 6 |

| 3 | MRI of magnetically labeled mesenchymal stem cells in hepatic failure model显示文摘AIM:To track intravascularly transplanted mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) labeled with superparamagnetic iron oxide (SPIO) by using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in an experimental rabbit model of hepatic failure.METHODS:Human MSCs labeled with FDA-approved SPIO particles (Feridex) were transplanted via the mes-enteric vein into rabbits (n=16) with carbon tetrachloride-induced hepatic failure.Magnetic resonance (MR) examinations were performed with a 3.0 T clinical scanner immediately before and 2 h and 1,3,and 7 d after transplantation.Signal intensity (SI) changes on T2weighted MRI were measured,and correlation between MR findings and histomorphologic findings was also investigated.RESULTS:SI on T2-weighted MRI decreased significantly in the liver 2 h after injection of human MSCs and returned gradually to the levels found before injection in 7 d.Changes in SI in the liver at 2 h,1,3,and 7 d were 41.87% ± 9.63%,10.42% ± 4.3%,5.12% ± 1.9%,3.75% ± 1.2%,respectively (P < 0.001).Histologic analyses confirmed the presence of MSCs in the liver,localized mainly in the sinusoids in early period (2 h and 1 d) and concentrated to the border zone in late period (3 and 7 d).The number of iron-positive cells in the liver at 2 h and on 1,3 and 7 d after transplantation was 29.2 ± 4.8,10.1 ± 3.7,6.7 ± 2.2,and 5.8 ± 2.1,respectively (P=0.013).CONCLUSION:Intravascularly injected SPIO-labeled MSCs in an experimental rabbit model of hepatic failure can be detected and followed with MRI. | Kyu Ri Son Se Young Chung Hyo-Cheol Kim Hoe Suk Kim Seung Hong Choi Jeong Min Lee Woo Kyung Moon | 2010 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2010，16，44： | 4 |
| 4 | Risk factors for tuberculosis after gastrectomy in gastric cancer显示文摘AIM: To examine incidence of tuberculosis(TB) in gastrectomy patients and investigate the risk factors for developing TB after gastrectomy in patients with gastric cancer.METHODS: A retrospective cohort study of gastrectomy patients with gastric cancer was performed at a university-affiliated hospital in Seoul, South Korea between January 2007 and December 2009. We reviewed patient medical records and collected data associated with the risk of TB, surgery, and gastric cancer. Standardized incidence ratios(SIRs) of TB were calculated to compare the incidence of TB in gastrectomy patients with that in the general Korean population, and risk factors for TB after gastrectomies were analyzed.RESULTS: Among the 1776 gastrectomy patients, 0.9%(16/1776) developed post-gastrectomy TB, with an incidence of 223.7 cases per 100000 patients per year. The overall incidence of TB in gastrectomy patients, adjusted by sex and age, was significantly higher thanthat in the general population(SIR = 2.22, 95%CI: 1.27-3.60). Previous TB infection [odds ratio(OR) = 7.1, P < 0.001], lower body mass index(BMI)(kg/m2; OR = 1.21, P = 0.043) and gastrectomy extent(total gastrectomy vs subtotal gastrectomy)(OR = 3.48, P = 0.017) were significant risk factors for TB after gastrectomy in a multivariate analysis.CONCLUSION: TB incidence after gastrectomy is higher than that in the general population.
