4RNA modifications:importance in immune cell biology and related diseases显示文摘RNA modifications have become hot topics recently.By influencing RNA processes,including generation,transportation,function,and metabolization,they act as critical regulators of cell biology.The immune cell abnormality in human diseases is also a research focus and progressing rapidly these years.Studies have demonstrated that RNA modifications participate in the multiple biological processes of immune cells,including development,differentiation,activation,migration,and polarization,thereby modulating the immune responses and are involved in some immune related diseases.In this review,we present existing knowledge of the biological functions and underlying mechanisms of RNA modifications,including N6-methyladenosine(m^(6)A),5-methylcytosine(m^(5)C),N1-methyladenosine(m1 A),N7-methylguanosine(m^(7)G),N4-acetylcytosine(ac^(4)C),pseudouridine(Ψ),uridylation,and adenosine-to-inosine(A-to-I)RNA editing,and summarize their critical roles in immune cell biology.Via regulating the biological processes of immune cells,RNA modifications can participate in the pathogenesis of immune related diseases,such as cancers,infection,inflammatory and autoimmune diseases.We further highlight the challenges and future directions based on the existing knowledge.All in all,this review will provide helpful knowledge as well as novel ideas for the researchers in this area.Lian Cui Rui Ma Jiangluyi Cai Chunyuan Guo Zeyu Chen Lingling Yao Yuanyuan Wang Rui Fan Xin Wang Yuling Shi 2022Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2022,7,10:2
5Quantum key distribution in 50-km optic fibers显示文摘In this paper, we report our recent experiment of long-distance fiber-optic plug and play quantum cryptography system wherein a Faraday-Mirror was used to compensate for the polarization mode dispersion and phase drifts. The pulse-biased coincident gate single-photon detection technique was used to effectively reduce the noises from the detrimental Rayleigh backscattering. We have achieved a quantum key distribution system with the working distance of 50 km, which was tested to be stable in more than 6 hours continuous work. 6Temperature and symmetry energy of neutron-rich fragments in the 1A GeV^(124,136)Xe+Pb reactions显示文摘In this work we study the symmetry-energy coefficient of neutron-rich nuclei,and the temperature dependence of nuclear symmetry energy at low temperatures.An isobaric method is used to extract the symmetry-energy coefficients of neutron-rich nucleus(asym) at zero temperature(T) and asym/T at nonzero temperature in the measured 1A GeV124,136Xe+Pb reactions.T of fragment is obtained from the ratio of its asym to asym/T.The results show that,for fragment with the same neutron-excess(I=N Z),the heavier the fragment is,the higher T it has,and T tends to saturate around 1 MeV for the large mass fragments.It is also shown that the more neutron-rich the isobar is,the higher temperature it has.The T2dependence of symmetry energy of finite nucleus at low temperatures is verified by the extracted results.MA Chunwang QIAO Chunyuan WANG Shanshan LU Fangmei CHEN Li GUO Meiting 2013Nuclear Science and Techniques2013,24,5:2
7Active facet determination of layered double hydroxide for oxygen evolution reaction显示文摘Oxygen evolution reaction(OER) plays an indispensable role in developing renewable clean energy resources. One of the critical bottlenecks for the reaction is the development of highly efficient electrocatalyst to decrease the high overpotentials of four-electron transfer process of OER. Recently, layered double hydroxides(LDHs) have been widely investigated among the most promising electrocatalysts for OER due to their high intrinsic activity, excellent stability as well as low-cost. However, it remains unclear how the exposed facet of the LDHs affects their electrocatalytic activity. Here we elucidate the active edge facet of LDHs towards OER by combining the finely control of edge facet ratio coupled with molecular probe method and computational calculation. The LDHs with higher edge facet area ratio show superior activity with low onset potential as well as decreased Tafel slope. The active edge site is further proved by blocking the unsaturated edge sites with cyanate probe anion, of which the adsorption largely inhibits OER activity. 8Effects of Overwintering on the Survival and Vector Competence of Aedes albopictus in the Urban Life Cycle of Dengue Virus in Guangzhou,China显示文摘The Pearl River Delta,where Aedes albopictus(Ae.albopictus)is the only vector for dengue transmission,has exhibited one of the highest dengue burdens in southern China in recent decades.However,whether dengue virus(DENV)can overwinter in Ae.albopictus in the Pearl River Delta has not been determined to date.In this study,300 field-derived Ae.albopictus mosquitoes from Guangzhou that were infected with the predominant endemic DENV-1 strain were investigated under simulated urban balcony environment from October 16,2016,to June 16,2017.The vertical transmission of DENV in the infected overwintering Ae.albopictus was analyzed.The DENV infected overwintering mosquitoes were evaluated for viral load at nine-time points using reverse transcription-quantitative PCR.The vector competence of the infected overwintering Ae.albopictus was also investigated by using suckling mice.Adult mosquitoes and larvae were found during the observation period.The vertical transmission of DENV-1 was documented.The DENV-1-positive rates between overwintering males and females had no difference.The proportion of DENV-1-positive overwintering mosquitoes decreased over time and had no difference beyond three months after the experiment.Overwintering mosquitoes can spread DENV-1 to hosts.No engorged mosquitoes at an ambient temperature below 15℃were observed.The ratio of engorged mosquitoes was positively correlated with the ambient temperature ranging from 15 to 30℃.Our results demonstrated that DENV can overwinter in Ae.albopictus in the Pearl River Delta,Ae.albopictus is the competent vector for DENV,and maintain autochthonous dengue outbreaks in the Pearl River Delta through vertical transmission.Yue Chen Ronghua Chen Jianrong Gao Chunyuan Li Jun Liu Zhijian Zhou Ruiwen Ren 2021Virologica Sinica2021,36,4:1
9Transcription factor Pf-Rel regulates expression of matrix protein genes Prismalin-14 and MSI60 in the pearl oyster Pinctada fucata显示文摘Molluscan shell is a biomineral that consists of a highly organized calcium carbonate composite.Organisms mainly use matrix proteins to elaborately control the biomineralization process,but knowledge of their regulatory mechanisms is limited.The transcription factor Pf-Rel,which belongs to the Rel/nuclear factor-κB family,was shown to regulate transcription at the Nacrein promoter in the pearl oyster Pinctada fucata.Here,we further explored the transcriptional regulation mechanisms of Pf-Rel on the matrix proteins Prismalin-14 and MSI60.The relative expression levels of Prismalin-14 and MSI60 were high in the mantle edge and mantle pallial tissues of P.fucata.These three genes were significantly up-regulated after shell notching,suggesting that they might play important roles during shell formation.Importantly,Pf-Rel gene knockdown by RNA interference led to down-regulation of Prismalin-14 and MSI60 expression.In transient co-transfection assays,Pf-Rel significantly up-regulated the promoter activities of the Prismalin-14 and MSI60 genes in a dose-dependent manner.Furthermore,the promoter regions of Prismalin-14(-1794 to-1599 bp)and MSI60(-2244 to-1141 bp)were required for the activation by Pf-Rel.Altogether,these results suggest that the transcription factor Pf-Rel can up-regulate the expression of the matrix protein genes Prismalin-14 and MSI60 during shell formation in P.fucata,which improves our understanding of transcription regulation at the molecular level during molluscan shell development.Chunyuan Li Yan Chen Liping Xie Rongqing Zhang 2019Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2019,51,5:1

15Leakage of mantle helium from the Liaodong Peninsula, China显示文摘The isotopic compositions of helium have been investigated in hot spring gases sampled from the Liaodong Peninsula, China. The 3He/ 4He ratios range from 0.14 Ra (0.14 times the atmospheric 3He/ 4He ratio of 1.40×10 -6) to 0.72 Ra. 3He/ 4He versus 4He/ 20Ne ratios and He contents suggest that a small amount of mantle-derived helium reaches the earth’s surface. Helium isotope ratios of the hot spring gases show a distribution pattern similar to the regional heat flow values, indicating that the positive thermal anomaly occurring in the area is closely associated with the presence of mantle-derived helium. The observations described above provide some significant evidence that the molten magma originating from partial melting of the upper mantle may have intruded into the continental crust along the activity fault. 19Simulation and visualization experiment of manganese ion diffusion and damage to gel in a porous media-gel system显示文摘A new visualization method for studying the damage to gel structure caused by high salinity ions is explored by using the characteristics of suppression image signal of Mn^(2+) and nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR) imaging technique. The diffusion and distribution characteristics of Mn^(2+) in porous media-gel system were studied based on manganese chloride static diffusion and gel flooding experiments, and the gel's nuclear magnetic image and displacement pressure were tested. The results show that the diffusion of Mn^(2+)conforms to the Fick diffusion law in porous media-gel system, and the diffusion speed of Mn^(2+) increases and the area of gel image decreases gradually with the increase of concentration, and the image of gel decreases faster and the pressure drop of water drive is larger in flooding experiment of manganese chloride with higher concentration. Reaction-diffusion model with the reaction of Mn^(2+) with gel was established to study the concentration distribution characteristics of Mn^(2+). The model is validated by comparing the results with magnetic resonance imaging(MRI) experiments and the diffusion coefficient of Mn^(2+) equals 1.6 mm^2/h, and the minimum concentration of Mn^(2+) to impact gel NMR image signals is 2.5 g/L. The above results show that the diffusion of Mn^(2+) into the gel in the rock core inhibits the imaging signal of the gel and damages its strength, and the greater the concentration is, the greater the influence.
