1Salmonella flagella confer anti-tumor immunological effect via activating Flagellin/TLR5 signalling within tumor microenvironment显示文摘Salmonella:mediated cancer therapy has achieved remarkable anti-tumor effects in experimental animal models,but the detailed mechanism remains unsolved.In this report,the active involvement of the host immune response in this process was confirmed by comparing the tumor-suppressive effects of Salmonella in immunocompetent and immunodeficient mice bearing melanoma allografts.Since flagella are key inducers of the host immune response during bacterial infection,flagella were genetically disrupted to analyse their involvement in Salmonella-mediated cancer therapy.The results showed that flagellum-deficient strains failed to induce significant anti-tumor effects,even when more bacteria were administered to offset the difference in invasion efficiency.Flagella mainly activate immune cells via Flagellin/Toll-like receptor 5(TLR5)signalling pathway.Indeed,we showed that exogenous activation of TLR5 signalling by recombinant Flagellin and exogenous expression of TLR5 both enhanced the therapeutic efficacy of flagellum-deficient Salmonella against melanoma.Our study highlighted the therapeutic value of the interaction between Salmonella and the host immune response through Flagellin/TLR5 signalling pathway during Salmonella-mediated cancer therapy,thereby suggesting the potential application of TLR5 agonists in the cancer immune therapy.Jianxiang Chen Yiting Qiao Guo Chen Cunjie Chang Heng Dong Bo Tang Xiawei Cheng Xiufeng Liu Zichun Hua 2021Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2021,11,10:6
2Facile synthesis of enzyme functional metal-organic framework for colorimetric detecting H_2O_2 and ascorbic acid显示文摘In this work,a metal-organic frameworks material MIL-88 was prepared easily using solvent-thermal method,and was first found to have catalytic activities similar to those of biological enzymes such as catalase and peroxidase.The material was characterized by XRD,SEM,TEM,EDX,FT-IR techniques and an N_2 adsorption method.It exhibited peroxidase-like activity through catalytic oxidation of the peroxidase substrate 3,3',5,5'-tetramethylbenzidine(TMB) in the presence of H_2O_2,producing a blue-colored solution.Under optimal conditions,the absorbance at 652 nm is linearly correlated with the concentration of H_2O_2 from 2.0×10^(-6) mol/L to 2.03×10^(-5) mol/L(R^2=0.981) with a detection limit of 5.62×10^(-7) mol/L(S/N=3).More importantly,a sensitive and selective method for ascorbic acid detection was developed using this material as a catalyst.The analytical method for ascorbic acid detection was observed to have a linear range from 2.57×10^(-6) mol/L to 1.01×10^(-5) mol/L(R^2=0.989) with a detection limit of 1.03×10^(-6) mol/L(S/N=3).This work suggests MOFs have advantages of preparing biomimetic catalysts and extends applications of the functional MOFs in the field of biosensor.Cunji Gao Hongmei Zhu Jia Chen Hongdeng Qiu 2017Chinese Chemical Letters2017,28,5:5
3DISPERSION AND NUCLEATION FOR ULTRAFINE PARTICLES OF SILICA AND SILICATE IN POLY(ETHYLENE TEREPHTHALATE) BASED COMPOSITES显示文摘In this paper, the dispersion and nucleation behavior of ultrafine particles of silica and layered silicate (LS)in poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) matrix are investigated and characterized by Transmission Electron Microscopy(TEM), Wide Angle X-ray Diffraction (WAXD), Dynamic Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), and Atomic Force Microscopy(AFM). The solid precursors based on silica and LS are suggested originally for preparing nanocomposites with good dispersion morphology. Results show that the initial sub-micron (1000~500 nm) LS particles are exfoliated or dispersed into nanometer-scale particles (30~70 nm) during their polymerization with PET monomers. These dispersed nanoparticles form an ordered morphology in their nucleation and growth during annealing nanocomposites. DSC patterns reveal that the double melting peaks of annealed PET-LS nanocomposites disappear, while they have shrunken in PET-silica ones. These findings strongly demonstrate that the dispersed nanoparticles accelerate the crystallization of PET. The dispersed LS particles have higher percolation and nucleation performance than those of silica.The homogeneous distribution morphology of ultrafine particles is easily obtained by controlling the load of their corresponding precursors. Such a dispersion obviously improves PET properties in that its heat distortion temperature (HDT)increases from 76℃ to 103℃, and crystallization increases 2~4 times more than that of PET. 10Adsorption of TTF,TCNQ and TTF-TCNQ on Au(111):An in situ ECSTM study显示文摘The adsorption and adlayer structures of tetrathiofulvalene (TTF), tetracyanoquinodimethane (TCNQ) and TTF-TCNQ on Au(111) have been systematically investigated by in situ electrochemical scanning tunneling microscopy (ECSTM) and cyclic voltammetry in 0.1 mol?L?1 HClO4. All the three molecules were found to form well-ordered adlayers in the double-layer potential region of Au(111). For TTF and TCNQ adlayers, (6×3) and (4×7) structures have been observed, respectively. A structural transition was observed on TCNQ adlayer at potential negative of 0.08 V vs. the reversible hydrogen electrode (RHE), and induced a new phase with (3 3 ×12) structure. On the other hand, the charge transfer complex, TTF-TCNQ, self-organized into ordered domains with a lamellar structure different from those of the pure TTF and TCNQ adlayers on Au(111). 13The double mutations of acvr2aa and acvr2ba leads to muscle hypertrophy in zebrafish显示文摘Activin A receptor,type II(Acvr2)is a member of the transforming growth factor beta receptor family and can function as a negative regulator of skeletal muscle mass.Acvr2 plays an important role in regulating muscle development that can inhibit skeletal muscle growth in mice.However,there is very little research reported on the function of acvr2 in muscle development of teleost.In this study,we analyzed the effect of acvr2aa and acvr2ba on muscle development in zebrafish.Growth rates of WT and acvr2a^(-/-b-/-)��were measured from juvenile stage to adult stage.In addition,effects of acvr2 on skeletal muscle were tested in histological,protein and molecular levels.As a result,acvr2a^(-/-b-/-)��exhibited a wider body trunk than WT and showed a significant increase in body weight and width from two months old.Histological analysis of skeletal muscle indicated that the size of muscle fiber in acvr2a^(-/-b-/-)��(female:1809±123μm^(2);male:2261±130μm^(2))was larger than that in WT(709.8±49μm^(2);815±53μm^(2)).In addition,western blot of fast MyLc protein showed the protein synthesis of acvr2a^(-/-b-/-)��are increased.Besides,Histological analysis of heart showed the ventricle area is aslo increased in acvr2a^(-/-b-/-)��.Our results demonstrated acvr2 attends the development of muscle fiber and will cause muscle hypertrophy when they were knocked out in zebrafish.In conclusion,acvr2 in zebrafish can control the development of muscle fibers during posthatch growth.Jinyuan Che Cunjie Hu Qi Wang Chunxin Fan Yufeng Si Xiaoling Gong Baolong Bao 2023Aquaculture and Fisheries2023,8,6:0
142D self-assembly of 1,3,2-dioxaborine derivatives on HOPG显示文摘Two-dimensional (2D) self-assembly of two 1,3,2-dioxaborine derivatives was investigated by STM. The molecules consist of π system and steric end groups. A droplet of toluene solution containing the molecules was deposited onto HOPG for preparing the assemblies. STM images showed that the mo- lecular structures affect the assembly structure. 15Variability of Sea Ice from 2008 to 2019 in the Bohai and Northern Huanghai Sea, China and the Relationship with Climatic Factors显示文摘Sea ice has important effect on the marine ecosystem and people living in the surrounding regions in winter.However,the understanding on changes of sea ice in the Bohai and northern Huanghai Sea(BNHS),China is still limited.Based on the images from Visible and InfraRed Radiometer(VIRR)onboard Chinese second generation polar-orbit meteorological series satellites FY-3A/B/C,the sea ice areas in the BNHS were extracted from December 2008 to March 2019,the spatio-temporal distribution charac-teristics of sea ice and the relationship between sea ice area and climatic factors were analyzed,then a preliminary sea ice forecast model based on the climatic factors was developed.The results showed that sea ice area in the BNHS in each December was relatively small and rather high sea ice occurrence probability appeared in the offshore areas in Liaodong Bay and northern Huanghai Sea.The sea ice area in January or February each year was the largest,and sea ice occurred in most of areas in Liaodong Bay and northern Huanghai Sea with rather high probability and in some areas in Bohai Bay and Laizhou Bay with relatively high probability.How-ever,the sea ice area in each March was the smallest,and sea ice was even melted completely occasionally,hence with relatively low occurrence probability in Liaodong Bay.As for the inter-annual variability of sea ice in the BNHS during the research period,the sea ice area was largest in winter 2010/11 and smallest in winter 2014/15,and annual sea ice area presented a decreasing trend.The at-mospheric temperature,western Pacific subtropical high(WPSH),Asia polar vortex(APV),Asian monsoon circulation(AMC)and Eurasian monsoon circulation(EMC)were very important climatic factors for sea ice formation and they had significant correlations with sea ice area.Therefore,a preliminary sea ice forecast model was constructed by using eight climatic factors including western Pacific subtropical high area index(WPSHAI),western Pacific subtropical high intensity index(WPSHII),western Pacific subtro-pical high northern boundary position index(WPSHNBPI),Asia polar vortex area index(APVAI),Asian zonal circulation index(AZCI),Asian meridional circulation index(AMCI),Eurasian zonal circulation index(EZCI)and mean minimum atmospheric tem-perature(MMAT).The model was confirmed to have a robust forecast effect by using F-test and validated sample data.The results are useful for monitoring sea ice with remote sensed data and forecasting sea ice conditions by climatic indices.GONG Shaoqi CHEN Wenqian ZHANG Cunjie YAN Qingyun YANG Hong 2022Journal of Ocean University of China2022,21,5:0

17Boosting methylcyclohexane dehydrogenation over Pt-based structured catalysts by internal electric heating显示文摘Methylcyclohexane(MCH)serves as an ideal hydrogen carrier in hydrogen storage and transportation process.In the continuous production of hydrogen from MCH dehydrogenation,the rational design of energy-efficient catalytic way with good performance remains an enormous challenge.Herein,an internal electric heating(IEH)assisted mode was designed and proposed by the directly electrical-driven catalyst using the resistive heating effect.The Pt/Al2O_(3)on Fe foam(Pt/Al2O_(3)/FF)with unique threedimensional network structure was constructed.The catalysts were studied in a comprehensive way including X-ray diffraction(XRD),scanning electron microscopy(SEM)-mapping,in situ extended X-ray absorption fine structure(EXAFS),and in situ COFourier transform infrared(FTIR)measurements.It was found that the hydrogen evolution rate in IEH mode can reach up to above 2060 mmol·gPt^(−1)·min^(−1),which is 2–5 times higher than that of reported Pt based catalysts under similar reaction conditions in conventional heating(CH)mode.In combination with measurements from high-resolution infrared thermometer,the equations of heat transfer rate,and reaction heat analysis results,the Pt/Al2O_(3)/FF not only has high mass and heat transfer ability to promote catalytic performance,but also behaves as the heating component with a low thermal resistance and heat capacity offering a fast temperature response in IEH mode.In addition,the chemical adsorption and activation of MCH molecules can be efficiently facilitated by IEH mode,proved by the operando MCH-FTIR results.Therefore,the as-developed IEH mode can efficiently reduce the heat and mass transfer limitations and prominently boost the dehydrogenation performance,which has a broad application potential in hydrogen storage and other catalytic reaction processes.Wenhan Wang Guoqing Cui Cunji Yan Xuejie Wang Yang Yang Chunming Xu Guiyuan Jiang 2023Nano Research2023,16,10:0
18Contributions of the Bering Strait throughflow to oceanic meridional heat transport under modern and Last Glacial Maximum climate conditions显示文摘Paleo reconstructions and model simulations have suggested the Bering Strait plays a pivotal role in climate change. However, the contribution of the Bering Strait throughflow to oceanic meridional heat transport (OMHT) is about 100 times smaller than the OMHT at low latitudes in the modern climate and it is generally ignored. Based on model simulations under modern and Last Glacial Maximum (LGM,~21 ka;ka=thousand years ago) climate conditions, this study highlights the importance of the Bering Strait throughflow to OMHT. The interbasin OMHT induced by the Bering Strait throughflow is estimated by interbasin-intrabasin decomposition. Similar to barotropic-baroclinic-horizontal decomposition, we assume the nonzero net mass transport induced by interbasin throughflows is uniform across the entire section, and the interbasin term is separated to force zero net mass transport for the intrabasin term. Based on interbasinintrabasin decomposition, the contribution of the Bering Strait throughflow is determined as ~0.02 PW (1 PW=10 15 W) under the modern climate, and zero under the LGM climate because the closed Bering Strait blocked interbasin throughflows. The contribution of the Bering Strait throughflow to OMHT is rather small, consistent with previous studies. However, comparisons of OMHT under modern and LGM climate conditions indicate the mean absolute changes are typically 0.05 and 0.20 PWin the North Atlantic and North Pacific, respectively. 19Quantifying the non-conservative production of potential temperature over the past 22000 years显示文摘The energy budgets of the ocean play a crucial role in the analysis of climate change. Potential temperature is traditionally used as a conservative quantity to express variations associated with “heat” in oceanography, such as the heat content and heat transport. However, potential temperature is usually not conserved during turbulent mixing, so the use of conservative temperature is more accurate. Based on climatological simulations under the modern and Last Glacial Maximum (LGM;~21 ka;ka=thousand years ago), as well as a transient climate simulation of the past 22 000 years, we quantify the errors induced by the neglect of the non-conservation of potential temperature in paleo-climate research for the first time. The temperature error reaches 0.9℃ near the coasts aff ected by river discharges but is much smaller in the open oceans, typically 0.03°C above the main thermocline and less than 0.01℃ elsewhere. The error of the ocean heat content (OHC) is roughly 3×10^22 J and is relatively steady over the past 22 000 years. However, the OHC increases to six times the original value during the last glacial termination from 20 ka to 7 ka. As a result, the relative OHC error decreases from 1.2% in the LGM climate to 0.14% in the modern climate. The error of the ocean meridional heat transport (OMHT) is generally smaller than 0.005 PW (1 PW=10 15 W), with very small temporal variations (typically 0.000 4 PW), and induces a relative OMHT error of typically 0.3% over the past 22 000 years.
