| 1 | 630-nm red InGaN micro-light-emitting diodes(<20μm×20μm)exceeding 1 mW/mm~2 for full-color micro-displays显示文摘We demonstrated 10×10 arrays of In Ga N 17μm×17μm micro-light-emitting diodes(μLEDs)with a peak wavelength from 662 to 630 nm at 10–50 A∕cm^(2).The on-wafer external quantum efficiency reached 0.18%at 50 A∕cm^(2).The output power density of the redμLEDs was obtained as 1.76 m W∕mm^(2),which was estimated to be higher than that of 20μm×20μm Al In Ga P redμLEDs(~630 nm).Finally,we demonstrate that In Ga N red/green/blueμLEDs could exhibit a wide color gamut covering 81.3%and 79.1%of the Rec.2020 color space in CIE 1931 and 1976 diagrams,respectively. | ZHE ZHUANG DAISUKE IIDA MARTIN VELAZQUEZ-RIZO KAZUHIRO OHKAWA | 2021 | Photonics Research2021,9,9: | 2 |
| 2 | Ultrasmall and ultradense InGaN-based RGB monochromatic micro-light-emitting diode arrays by pixilation of conductive p-GaN显示文摘We describe 5μm squircle InGaN-based red, green, and blue(RGB)monochromatic micro-light-emitting diodes(μLEDs)with an interpitch of 4μm by pixilation of conductive p-GaN using a H2-plasma treatment. The p-GaN was passivated by H2 plasma and prevented the current’s injection into the InGaN quantum wells below. We observed that InGaN-based redμLEDs exhibited a broader full width at half-maximum and larger peak wavelength blueshift at 11.5-115 A/cm^(2) than the green/blueμLEDs.The on-wafer light output power density of the redμLEDs at a wavelength of 632 nm at 115 A/cm^(2) was approximately 936 mW/cm^(2),the highest value reported thus far for InGaN-based redμLEDs.This value was comparable with that of the green/blueμLEDs at 11.5 A/cm^(2),indicating that the redμLEDs can satisfy the requirement of high brightness levels for specific displays. The color gamut based on InGaN RGBμLEDs covered 83.7%to 75.9%of the Rec.2020 color space in the CIE 1931 diagram at 11.5 to 115 A/cm^(2). | ZHE ZHUANG DAISUKE IIDA KAZUHIRO OHKAWA | 2021 | Photonics Research2021,9,12: | 1 |

| 9 | Inverse relationship between platelet Akt activity and hippocampal atrophy:A pilot case-control study in patients with diabetes mellitus显示文摘BACKGROUND Akt plays diverse roles in humans. It is involved in the pathogenesis of type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM),which is caused by insulin resistance.Akt also plays a vital role in human platelet activation.Furthermore, the hippocampus is closely associated with memory and learning, and a decrease in hippocampal volume is reportedly associated with an insulin-resistant phenotype in T2DM patients without dementia.AIM To investigate the relationship between Akt phosphorylation in unstimulated platelets and the hippocampal volume in T2DM patients.METHODS Platelet-rich plasma(PRP)was prepared from the venous blood of patients with T2DM or age-matched controls. The pellet lysate of the centrifuged PRP was subjected to western blotting to analyse the phosphorylation of Akt,p38 mitogen-activated protein(MAP)kinase and glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate dehydrogenase(GAPDH).Phosphorylation levels were quantified by densitometric analysis.Hippocampal volume was analysed using a voxel-based specific regional analysis system for Alzheimer’s disease on magnetic resonance imaging, which proposes the Z-score as a parameter that reflects hippocampal volume.RESULTS The levels of phosphorylated Akt corrected with phosphorylated p38 MAP kinase were inversely correlated with the Z-scores in the T2DM subjects, whereas the levels of phosphorylated Akt corrected with GAPDH were not. However, this relationship was not observed in the control patients.CONCLUSION These results suggest that an inverse relationship may exist between platelet Akt activation and hippocampal atrophy in T2DM patients. Our findings provide insight into the molecular mechanisms underlying T2DM hippocampal atrophy. | Haruhiko Tokuda Takamitsu Hori Daisuke Mizutani Tomoyuki Hioki Kumi Kojima Takashi Onuma Yukiko Enomoto Tomoaki Doi Rie Matsushima-Nishiwaki Shinji Ogura Hiroki Iida Toru Iwama Takashi Sakurai Osamu Kozawa | 2024 | World Journal of Clinical Cases2024,12,2: | 0 |
| 10 | Decline in subarachnoid haemorrhage volumes associated with the first wave of the COVID- 19 pandemic显示文摘Background During the COVID-19 pandemic, decreased volumes of stroke admissions and mechanical thrombectomy were reported. The study’s objective was to examine whether subarachnoid haemorrhage(SAH)hospitalisations and ruptured aneurysm coiling interventions demonstrated similar declines. Methods We conducted a cross-sectional,retrospective,observational study across 6 continents,37 countries and 140 comprehensive stroke centres.Patients with the diagnosis of SAH,aneurysmal SAH,ruptured aneurysm coiling interventions and COVID-19 were identified by prospective aneurysm databases or by International Classification of Diseases,10th Revision, codes. The 3-month cumulative volume, monthly volumes for SAH hospitalisations and ruptured aneurysm coiling procedures were compared for the period before(1 year and immediately before)and during the pandemic, defined as 1 March-31 May 2020.The prior 1-year control period(1 March-31 May 2019)was obtained to account for seasonal variation.Findings There was a significant decline in SAH hospitalisations, with 2044 admissions in the 3 months immediately before and 1585 admissions during the pandemic, representing a relative decline of 22.5%(95%CI−24.3%to−20.7%,p<0.0001).Embolisation of ruptured aneurysms declined with 1170-1035 procedures, respectively, representing an 11.5%(95%CI−13.5%to−9.8%,p=0.002)relative drop.Subgroup analysis was noted for aneurysmal SAH hospitalisation decline from 834 to 626 hospitalisations,a 24.9%relative decline(95%CI−28.0%to−22.1%,p<0.0001).A relative increase in ruptured aneurysm coiling was noted in low coiling volume hospitals of 41.1%(95%CI 32.3%to 50.6%,p=0.008)despite a decrease in SAH admissions in this tertile.Interpretation There was a relative decrease in the volume of SAH hospitalisations, aneurysmal SAH hospitalisations and ruptured aneurysm embolisations during the COVID-19 pandemic. These findings in SAH are consistent with a decrease in other emergencies, such as stroke and myocardial infarction. | Thanh N Nguyen Diogo C Haussen Muhammad M Qureshi Hiroshi
