| 1 | Effectiveness of Different Waist Circumference Cut-off Values in Predicting Metabolic Syndrome Prevalence and Risk Factors in Adults in China显示文摘Objective To study the effectiveness of waist circumference cut-off values in predicting the prevalence of metabolic syndrome(MetS) and risk factors in adults in China. Methods A cross-sectional survey was condcuted in 14 provinces(autonomous region, municipality) in China. A total of 47 325 adults aged ≥20 years were selected by multistage stratified sampling, and questionnaire survey and physical and clinical examination were conducted among them. MetS was defined according to the International Diabetes Federation(IDF) criteria and modified IDF criteria.Results The age-standardized prevalence of MetS was 24.2%(22.1% in men and 25.8% in women) and 19.5%(22.1% in men and 18.0% in women) according to the IDF criteria and modified IDF criteria respectively. The age-standardized prevalence of pre-MetS was 8.1%(8.6% in men and 7.8% in women) according to the modified IDF criteria. The prevalence of MetS was higher in urban residents than rural residents and in northern China residents than in southern China residents. The prevalence of central obesity was about 30% in both men and women according to the ethnicity-specific cut-off values of waist circumference for central obesity(90 cm for men and 85 cm for women). Multivariate regression analysis revealed no significant difference in risk factors between the two MetS definitions. | 3 | Effect of heparin on apoptosis in human nasopharyngeal carcinoma CNE2 cells显示文摘In order to study the mechanism of the effect of heparin on apoptosis in carcinoma cells, the nasopharyngeal carcinoma cell line CNE2 was used to identify the effect of heparin on apoptosis associated with the expression of c-myc, bax, bcl-2 proteins by use of Hoechst 33258 staining, terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated dUTP nick-end labeling (TUNEL), agarose gel electrophoresis, and flow cytometry, as well as Western blot analysis. The results showed that heparin induced apoptosis of CNE2 cells including the morphologic changes such as reduction in the volume, and the nuclear chromatin condensation, as well as the “ladder pattern” revealed by agarose gel electrophoresis of DNA in a concentration-dependent manner.The number of TUNEL-positive cells was dramatically increased to 33.6±1.2% from 2.8±0.3% by treat ment with heparin in different concentrations (10~40 kU/L). The apoptotic index was increased to 32.5% from 3.5% by detecting SubG1 peaks on flow cytometry. | 5 | The promoter analysis of the human C17orf25 gene, a novel chromosome 17pl3.3 gene显示文摘The human C17orf25 gene (Accession No. AF177342) is one of thirteen genes cloned from a region displaying a high score of loss of heterozygosity within chromosome 17p13.3 in human hepatocellular car-cinoma in China[l]. To unveil the underlying mechanisms for the transcription regulation of this gene and understand its implication to the hepatocellular carcinogenesis, we looked into the relevant aspects by both bioinformatic and experimental executions. We found: 1, The abundant expression of the C17orf25 gene was evident in all the cell lines and tissue samples tested, showing little hepatoma-selectivity; 2, Its tran-scription starts at a single site, locating at -60 from the translation initiation codon; 3, A 58 bp fragment containing the transcription start, extending from -112 to -55, represents the minimal promoter; 4, The consensus sequence within this fragment recognized by SP1 contributes predominantly to the activity of the minimal promoter; 5, The bioinformatic analysis suggests that the C17ort25 gene may encode a protein in the family of the glyoxalase. | 7 | The combination of PD-1 blockade with interferon-αhas a synergistic effect on hepatocellular carcinoma显示文摘Background The efficacy of immune checkpoint inhibitors(ICIs),such as programmed cell death protein-1(PD-1)or its ligand 1(PD-L1)antibody,in hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is limited,and it is recommended that they be combined with other therapies.We evaluated the combination of pegylated interferon-α(Peg-IFNα)with PD-1 blockade in HCC mouse models.Methods We analyzed the effects of Peg-IFNαon tumor-infiltrating immune cells and PD-1 expression in the HCC immune microenvironment and examined the underlying mechanism of its unique effect on the PD-1 pathway.The in vivo efficacy of anti-PD-1 and Peg-IFNαwas evaluated in both subcutaneous and orthotopic mouse models of HCC.Results The combination of Peg-IFNαwith PD-1 blockade dramatically enhanced T-cell infiltration,improved the efficacy of PD-1 antibody and prolonged mouse survival compared with PD-1 antibody monotherapy.Mechanistically,Peg-IFNαcould recruit cytotoxic CD8+T cells to infiltrate the HCC microenvironment by inducing tumor cells to secrete the chemokine CCL4.Nevertheless,the HCC microenvironment quickly overcame the immune responses by upregulating PD-1 expression in CD8+T cells via the IFNα-IFNAR1-JAK1-STAT3 signaling pathway.The combination of PD-1 blockade with Peg-IFNαcould restore the cytotoxic capacity of CD8+T cells and exerted a significant synergistic effect on HCC.Conclusion These results indicate that in addition to initiating the antitumor immune response itself,Peg-IFNαcan also generate a microenvironment favoring PD-1 blockade.Thus,the combination of Peg-IFNαand PD-1 blockade can be a promising strategy for HCC. | Ying Zhu Mo Chen Da Xu Tian-En Li Ze Zhang Jian-Hua Li Xiang-Yu Wang Xin Yang Lu Lu Hu-Liang Jia Qiong-Zhu Dong Lun-Xiu Qin | 2022 | Cellular & Molecular Immunology2022,19,6: | 6 |

| 9 | Near-Real-Time Carbon Emission Accounting Technology Toward Carbon Neutrality显示文摘Climate change is the greatest environmental threat to humans and the planet in the 21st century.Global anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions are one of the main causes of the increasing number of extreme climate events.Cumulative carbon dioxide(CO_(2))emissions showed a linear relationship with cumulative temperature rise since the pre-industrial stage,and this accounts for approximately 80%of the total anthropogenic greenhouse gases.Therefore,accurate and reliable carbon emission data are the foundation and scientific basis for most emission reduction policymaking and target setting.Currently,China has made clear the ambitious goal of achieving the peak of carbon emissions by 2030 and achieving carbon neutrality by 2060.The development of a finer-grained spatiotemporal carbon emission database is urgently needed to achieve more accurate carbon emission monitoring for continuous implementation and the iterative improvement of emission reduction policies.Near-real-time carbon emission monitoring is not only a major national demand but also a scientific question at the frontier of this discipline.This article reviews existing annual-based carbon accounting methods,with a focus on the newly developed real-time carbon emission technology and its current application trends.We also present a framework for the latest near-real-time carbon emission accounting technology that can be widely used.The development of relevant data and methods will provide strong database support to the policymaking for China’s“carbon neutrality”strategy.Finally,this article provides an outlook on the future of real-time carbon emission monitoring technology. | Zhu Liu Taochun Sun Ying Yu Piyu Ke Zhu Deng Chenxi Lu Da Huo Xiang Ding | 2022 | Engineering2022,8,7: | 5 |
| 10 | A novel lead-free Na_(0.5)Bi_(0.5)TiO_(3)-based ceramic with superior comprehensive energy storage and discharge properties for dielectric capacitor applications显示文摘Na_(0.5)Bi_(0.5)TiO_(3)(NBT)-based ceramics have been widely used as dielectric materials for energy storage capacitors because of their environmental friendliness and excellent ferroelectric properties.However,their energy storage performance still needs to be further improved to satisfy the increasing demand.Herein,we report a novel 0.90(Na_(0.5)Bi_(0.5))0.7Sr_(0.3)TiO_(3-0.10)Bi(Ni_(0.5)Sn_(0.5))O_(3)(0.90NBST-0.10BNS)ceramic with significantly improved energy density(5.0 J cm3),enhanced recoverable energy density(4.18 J cm^(3))and high energy efficiency(83.64%)through the incorporation of Bi(Ni0.5Sn0.5)O3(BNS),due to the increased breakdown strength and the relaxation ferroelectric(RFE)properties.The first-order reversal curve(FORC)measurements confirm that the addition of BNS improves RFE properties by breaking the order of long-range ferroelectricity.The 0.90NBST-0.10BNS ceramic also possesses an outstanding temperature and frequency stability of energy storage properties in the range of 20C e140C and 1 Hze100 Hz,respectively.More importantly,the discharge properties characterized by a preeminent power density(36.19 MW cm^(3)),transient energy release times(144.2 ns),and high discharge energy density(1.16 J cm3)also synchronously observed in 0.90NBST-0.10BNS ceramic.These results show that the 0.90NBST-0.10BNS ceramic with outstanding comprehensive performances is a promising energy storage ceramic candidate for capacitors in high power systems. | Da Li Ying Lin Qibin Yuan Miao Zhang Liang Ma Haibo Yang | 2020 | Journal of Materiomics2020,6,4: | 4 |

| 16 | CDH13 Genetic Polymorphisms, Adiponectin and Ischemic Stroke: a Chinese Family-based Sib-pair Study显示文摘Objective To understand the relationships between CDH13(T-cadherin) genetic polymorphisms, adiponectin levels and ischemic stroke, and possible interactions between CDH13 polymorphisms and other risk factors. Methods We recruited 342 Chinese ischemic stroke sib pairs. We genotyped rs4783244 and rs7193788 on CDH13 using time-of-flight mass spectrometry genotyping technology and measured total and high-molecular weight(HMW) adiponectin levels. We investigated associations between SNPs and ischemic stroke, and interactions between SNPs and other risk factors using multi-level mixed-effects regression model. Results In individuals without ischemic stroke, CDH13 rs4783244 was associated with total adiponectin levels(per T: Coef =-0.257, P = 0.001). CDH13 rs7193788 was associated with total adiponectin levels(per A: Coef =-0.221, P = 0.001) and HMW adiponectin levels(per A: Coef =-0.163, P = 0.003). rs7193788 was significantly associated with ischemic stroke(GA/AA vs. GG: OR = 1.55, 95% CI: 1.07 to 2.24, P = 0.020) after Bonferroni correction(α = 0.025). There was an interaction between rs7193788 and diabetes(P = 0.036). Compared to diabetes-free individuals with rs7193788 GG genotype, diabetes patients with rs7193788 GA/AA genotypes had higher risks for ischemic stroke(OR = 2.64, 95% CI: 1.58-4.40, P < 0.001). Conclusion CDH13 genetic polymorphisms are associated with adiponectin levels and ischemic stroke. | 19 | Enhancing hydrothermal stability of framework Al in ZSM-5:From the view on the transformation between P and Al species by solid-state NMR spectroscopy显示文摘HZSM-5,with good surface acidity and shape selectivity,was reported as hydrocarbon cracking catalyst for multiple decades,however the hydrothermal stability,especially dealumination of tetrahedrally coordinated framework aluminum(TFAl),has been proved extensively as one of the major challenges during reactionregeneration process.Phosphorus was proposed to stabilize TFAl and indeed it enhanced the hydrothermal stability.Unfortunately,most of the phosphorus species would remain outside of the zeolite pore,mainly as polyphosphate species,and block the micropore severely,with only a limited portion introduced into the channel being able to interact with TFAl.Enlarging the pore size by alkali treatment(desilication)is one of the most convinced methods,but the details about specific P species during alkali treatment and its transformation upon hydrothermal activation is not acquired,thus the mechanism has not been fully understood.Herein,the P-containing species and its transformation during direct P modification and acid/alkali treatment followed by Pmodification have been studied,and the mechanism on the interaction between P and Al species has been investigated,using several analytical methods,especially Solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance(SSNMR)spectroscopy.It was found that the combination of desilication and subsequent phosphorus modification can enhance the activity of the ZSM-5 for the cracking of ethylcyclohexane,due to the better hydrothermal stabilization of acid sites by the enhanced interaction between phosphorus and TFAl,resulting from the improved accessibility of TFAl because of the successful generation of mesoporosity.Whereas the acid treatment followed by phosphorus modification,with declined retention of crystallinity and P/Al ratio,monoclinic/orthorhombic transition during steam activation,and the failed generation of mesopores,would cause obvious aggregation of the phosphorus species and could not improve the hydrothermal stability of the ZSM-5 effectively,and the direct phosphatation turned out much worse.Finally,a specific index that the intensity of the signal at 39 in 27Al MAS NMR spectra before steam activation was proposed as the indicator for determining the efficiency of phosphorus modification.And the proposed mechanism on the interaction between phosphorus and TFAl during the phosphorus modification could also be applicable in other zeolites. | Lei Han Ying Ouyang Enhui Xing Yibin Luo Zhijian Da | 2020 | Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2020,28,12: | 3 |
| 20 | Photo-promoted carbonylation of chloroalkanes with carbon monoxide by non-precious metal catalysts显示文摘The photo-promoted carbonylation of chloroalkanes with carbon monoxide was carried out under ambient conditions with copper and cadmium salts catalysts. The results indicated that the corresponding esters were produced with three salt catalysts, i.e. CuBr2, CuCl2 and CdI2. Among these catalysts, CdI2 was the most efficient in terms of ester yield and selectivity, particularly, 60% yield and 75% selectivity in the carbonylation of chlorocyclohexane were achieved. Furthermore, the yield and selectivity of the ester can be improved greatly by adding tri-n-butylamine in the CuBr2 and CuCl2 catalyst systems. On the other hand, the carbonylation did not proceed with single CdCl2, however, the catalytic activity of CdCl2 was increased greatly with NaIá2H2O as additive.
