1Construction of a genetic linkage map for cotton based on SRAP显示文摘A genetic linkage map of cotton was constructed with a newly developed molecular marker-SRAP (sequence-related amplified polymorphism) using a population consisting of 129 F2 individuals derived from the interspecific cross of Handan208 Pima90. A total of 136 primer pairs were used to detect polymorphisms between the two parents and 76 primer pairs with better polymorphisms were picked out to analyze the F2 population. 285 polymorphic bands were generated in total with an average of 3.75 polymorphic bands per pair of primers. The primer pair showing most polymorphic bands was the combination of me3 and em2, which produced 13 polymorphic bands. The 285 loci were used to construct linkage map with MAPMAKER/EXP3.0 and 237 loci were mapped at a LOD≥3.0 on 39 linkage groups. The total length of the map is 3030.7 cM, covering 65.4% of the whole cotton genome, and the average distance between adjacent markers is 12.79 cM. All the markers are distributed evenly among the linkage groups without clustering of loci. 2Geochemistry of pore waters from HQ-1PC of the Qiongdongnan Basin, northern South China Sea, and its implications for gas hydrate exploration显示文摘The Qiongdongnan Basin is one of the target areas for marine gas hydrate exploration in the northern margin of the South China Sea. In this study, major anion (e.g., SO42 , Cl, Br, I), cation (e.g., Ca, Mg, K, Na), and trace element (e.g., Sr, Ba) con- centrations of pore water samples collected from site HQ-1PC in the Qiongdongnan Basin were analyzed. These geochemical data suggest that the process of AOM (Anaerobic Oxidation of Methane) is dominant in sulfate-reduction zone in this site due to high upwelling iodine flux and strong microbial activities. The iodine-rich fluids, which may carry methane for the gas hydrate formation, pass through the gas hydrate stability zone, mix with brine released during gas hydrate formation, and cause the geochemical anomalies observed at site HQ-1PC. 3Antioxidative effects of berberine pre-treatment on hydrogen peroxide-induced PC12 cell toxicity显示文摘Oxidative stress has been implicated in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease.Oxidative damage could be prevented by augmenting the endogenous defense capacity against oxidative stress by antioxidant intake.As an effective alkaloid component of Chinese herbal medicine Rhizoma coptidis extract,berberine exhibits antioxidative properties and ameliorates memory impairment in a rat model of Alzheimer’s disease.The present study investigated the protective effects of berberine on H2O2-induced PC12 cell toxicity.Results demonstrated that berberine protects PC12 cells from H2O2-induced apoptosis and increases PC12 cell viability.Lactate dehydrogenase release,reactive oxygen content,and malonyl dialdehyde levels were significantly decreased (P < 0.01).The protective effects of berberine on H2O2-induced PC12 cell toxicity were achieved via the antioxidative effects of berberine.Daohua Xu Chenhui Zhou 2010Neural Regeneration Research2010,5,18:7
4On-chip photonic Fourier transform with surface plasmon polaritons显示文摘The Fourier transform(FT),a cornerstone of optical processing,enables rapid evaluation of fundamental mathematical operations,such as derivatives and integrals.Conventionally,a converging lens performs an optical FT in free space when light passes through it.The speed of the transformation is limited by the thickness and the focal length of the lens.By using the wave nature of surface plasmon polaritons(SPPs),here we demonstrate that the FT can be implemented in a planar configuration with a minimal propagation distance of around 10 mm,resulting in an increase of speed by four to five orders of magnitude.The photonic FT was tested by synthesizing intricate SPP waves with their Fourier components.The reduced dimensionality in the minuscule device allows the future development of an ultrafast on-chip photonic information processing platform for large-scale optical computing.Shan Shan Kou Guanghui Yuan Qian Wang Luping Du Eugeniu Balaur Daohua Zhang Dingyuan Tang Brian Abbey Xiao-Cong Yuan Jiao Lin 2016Light(Science & Applications)2016,5,1:4
5Facile synthesis of porous Pd nanoflowers with excellent catalytic activity towards CO oxidation显示文摘Microorganism-mediated,hexadecyltrimethylammonium chloride(CTAC)-directed(MCD) method was employed in this work to synthesize Pd nanoflowers(PdNFs).Proper Pichia pastoris cells(PPCs) dosage,ascorbic acid(AA),Pd(NO_3)_2 and CTAC concentrations were essential for the growth of the PdNFs.The size of the assynthesized PdNFs could be tuned by adjusting the amount of Pd(NO_3)_2 solution and dosage of PPCs used.Characterization techniques such as X-ray diffraction,transmission electron microscopy,and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy were used to verify the nature of the PdNFs.Finally the PdNF/PPC nanocomposites were immobilized onto TiO_2 supports to obtain bio-PdNF/TiO_2 catalysts which showed excellent catalytic activity for CO oxidation,obtaining 100%conversion at 100℃ and remaining stable over a period of 52 h of reaction time.Tareque Odoom-Wubah Mingming Du Williams Brown Osei Daohua Sun Jiale Huang Qingbiao Li 2015Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2015,23,11:2
6Research on knowledge acquisition method about the IF/THEN rules based on rough set theory显示文摘The basic principles of IF/THEN rules in rough set theory are analyzed first, and then the automatic process of knowledge acquisition is given. The numerical data is qualitatively processed by the classification of membership functions and membership degrees to get the normative decision table. The regular method of relations and the reduction algorithm of attributes are studied. The reduced relations are presented by the multi-represent-value method and its algorithm is offered. 7State of arts on the bio-synthesis of noble metal nanoparticles and their biological application显示文摘Nanomaterials are materials in which at least one of the dimensions of the particles is 100 nm and below.There are many types of nanomaterials,but noble metal nanoparticles are of interest due to their uniquely large surface-to-volume ratio,high surface area,optical and electronic properties,high stability,easy synthesis,and tunable surface functionalization.More importantly,noble metal nanoparticles are known to have excellent compatibility with bio-materials,which is why they are widely used in biological applications.The synthesis method of noble metal nanoparticles conventionally involves the reduction of the noble metal salt precursor by toxic reaction agents such as NaBH4,hydrazine,and formaldehyde.This is a major drawback for researchers involved in biological application researches.Hence,the bio-synthesis of noble metal nanoparticles(NPs)by bio-materials via bio-reduction provides an alternative method to synthesize noble metal nanoparticles which are potentially non-toxic and safer for biological application.In this review,the bio-synthesis of noble metal nanoparticle including gold nanoparticle(AuNPs),silver nanoparticle(AgNPs),platinum nanoparticle(PtNPs),and palladium nanoparticle(PdNPs)are first discussed.This is followed by a discussion of these biosynthesized noble metal in biological applications including antimicrobial,wound healing,anticancer drug,and bioimaging.Based on these,it can be concluded that the study on bio-synthesized noble metal nanoparticles will expand further involving bio-reduction by unexplored bio-materials.However,many questions remain on the feasibility of bio-synthesized noble metal nanoparticles to replace existing methods on various biological applications.Nevertheless,the current development of the biological application by bio-synthesized noble metal NPs is still intensively ongoing,and will eventually reach the goal of full commercialization.Kok Bing Tan Daohua Sun Jiale Huang Tareque Odoom-Wubah Qingbiao Li 2021Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2021,34,2:2

12Exp2 polymorphisms associated with variation for fiber quality properties in cotton(Gossypium spp.)显示文摘Plant expansins are a group of extracellular proteins thought to affect the quality of cotton fibers. Previous expression profile analysis revealed that six Expansin A genes are present in cotton, of which two(GhExp1 and GhExp2) produce transcripts that are specific to the developing cotton fiber. To identify the phenotypic function of Exp2, and to determine whether nucleotide variation among alleles of Exp2 affects fiber quality, candidate gene association mapping was conducted. Gene-specific primers were designed to amplify the Exp2 gene. By amplicon sequencing, the nucleotide diversity of Exp2 was investigated across92 accessions(including 7 Gossypium arboreum, 74 Gossypium hirsutum, and 11 Gossypium barbadense accessions) with different fiber qualities. Twenty-six SNPs and seven InDels including 14 from the coding region of Exp2 were detected, forming twelve distinct haplotypes in the cotton collection. Among the 14 SNPs in the coding region, five were missense mutations and nine were synonymous nucleotide changes. The average SNP/InDel per nucleotide ratio was 2.61%(one SNP per 39 bp), with 1.81 and 3.87% occurring in coding and non-coding regions, respectively. Nucleotide and haplotype diversity across the entire Exp2 region was 0.00603(π) and 0.844, respectively, and diversity in non-coding regions was higher than that in coding regions. For linkage disequilibrium(LD), the mean r2 value for all polymorphism loci pairs was 0.48, and LD did not decay over 748 bp. Based on132 simple sequence repeat(SSR) loci evenly covering 26 chromosomes, the population structure was estimated, and the accessions were divided into seven groups that agreed well with their genomic origin and evolutionary history. A general linear model was used to calculate the Exp2-wide diversity–trait associations of 5 fiber quality traits, considering population structure(Q). Four SNPs in Exp2 were associated with at least one of the fiber quality traits, but not with fiber elongation. The highest positive effect on UHML and STR was observed for haplotype Hap_6 of Exp2. There was a significant association of Exp2 with fiber quality traits. There were many haplotypes in the Exp2 region, of which the most favorable was Hap_6.
