1Effect of electric pulse treatment on solidification structure of an Al-15%Si alloy显示文摘The effect of electric pulse modifying on the solidification structure of an Al-15%Si alloy was investigated. Theresult shows that the primary silicon disappears sometimes and the eutectic phase is refined after the treatment of EP (elec-tric pulse) though there are different modalities in different treating durations. 2Carbamylated erythropoietin regulates immune responses and promotes long-term kidney allograft survival through activation of PI3K/AKT signaling显示文摘Modulation of alloimmune responses is critical to improving transplant outcome and promoting long-term graft survival.To determine mechanisms by which a nonhematopoietic erythropoietin(EPO)derivative,carbamylated EPO(CEPO),regulates innate and adaptive immune cells and affects renal allograft survival,we utilized a rat model of fully MHC-mismatched kidney transplantation.CEPO administration markedly extended the survival time of kidney allografts compared with the transplant alone control group.This therapeutic effect was inhibited when the recipients were given LY294002,a selective inhibitor of the phosphoinositide 3-kinase(PI3K)/protein kinase B(AKT)signaling pathway or anti-EPO receptor(EPOR)antibody,in addition to CEPO.In vitro,CEPO inhibited the differentiation and function of dendritic cells and modulated their production of proinflammatory and anti-inflammatory cytokines,along with activating the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway and increasing EPOR mRNA and protein expression by these innate immune cells.Moreover,after CD4^(+)T cells were exposed to CEPO the Th1/Th2 ratio decreased and the regulatory T cell(Treg)/Th17 ratio increased.These effects were abolished by LY294002 or anti-EPOR antibody,suggesting that CEPO regulates immune responses and promotes kidney allograft survival by activating the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway in an EPOR-dependent manner.The immunomodulatory and specific signaling pathway effects of CEPO identified in this study suggest a potential therapeutic approach to promoting kidney transplant survival.Ning Na Daqiang Zhao Jinhua Zhang Jiaqing Wu Bin Miao Heng Li Yingxun Luo Zuofu Tang Wensheng Zhang Joseph A.Bellanti Song Guo Zheng 2020Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2020,5,1:4
3Antimicrobial effect of sodium houttuyfonate on Staphylococcus epidermidis and Candida albicans biofilms显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To study antimicrobial effect of Sodium houttuyfonate(SH) on Staphylococcus epidermidis(SE) and Candida albicans(CA). METHODS: The prepared strain broths(OD600 =0.05) containing SE and CA were firstly used to test the minimal inhibitory concentrations(MICs) of SH, azithromycin(AZM) and fluconazole(FLU) by micro-dilution method. Then the biofilms of SE and CA were matured in 96-well plates, and co-cultured with SH, AZM and FLU for 1, 2 and 3 days to assess the antibiofilm efficacies of the agents with different concentrations by crystal violet staining method. At last, the treated biofilms of SE and CA by 2× MIC agents were observed by scanning electronic microscope. RESULTS: The MICs of SE and CA were 256 and 1024 μg/mL, respectively. After the 1st, 2nd and 3rd day of medications, the suppressions of biofilm were about 60%(P<0.01), 76%(P=0.000) and 75%(P=0.000) by 2×MIC SH, the suppressions of biofilm were about 90%(P=0.000), 88%(P=0.000) and 90%(P=0.000) by 2×MIC SH, which could be testified by scanning electron microscope results. However, the inhibitions of biofilm attachment had no significant difference for SE by SH and azithromycin and CA by SH and fluconazole. 43D metal-organic frameworks based on lanthanide-seamed dimeric pyrogallol[4]arene nanocapsules显示文摘Two novel 3D metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)with cds network,{[Me NH_3]_7[Ln_8(Pg C_2)_2(H_2O)_y(HCOO)_7]}_n·x(Solvent)(FJI-Y4,FJI=Fujian Institute,Ln=Gd,y=12;FJI-Y5,Ln=Dy,y=11;Pg C_2=C-ethylpyrogallol[4]arene),based on unprecedented dimeric pyrogallol[4]arene-based Ln_8metal-organic nanocapsule(MONC)supramolecular building blocks and formate linkers,have been prepared under solvothermal conditions.To our best of knowledge,they present not only the first two examples of 3D hierarchical structures constructed from MONCs in metal-pyrogallol[4]arene system,but also the first two examples of MOFs based on lanthanide MONCs.Remarkably,the inner cavity volume of the Ln_8capsule in FJI-Y4 and FJI-Y5 is approximately151?~3,which is larger than those found in previous transition metal-seamed dimeric Pg C_n-based MONCs.Magnetic investigation on FJI-Y4 suggests a significant magnetocaloric effect(23.97 J kg^(-1)K^(-1),ΔH=7 T,2.5 K),while FJI-Y5 exhibits slow relaxation of the magnetization.Kongzhao Su Mingyan Wu Wenjing Wang Mi Zhou Daqiang Yuan Maochun Hong 2018Science China Chemistry2018,61,6:2

7Effect of sodium houttuyfonate on symptom pattern of lung-Qi deficiency in rats induced by bacterialbiofilm infection显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the in vivo inhibitory effects of sodium houttuyfonate(SH) on symptom pattern of Qi-deficiency in rats induced by infection of bacterial biofilm on rat respiratory tract.METHODS: Symptom pattern is a term used in Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) to define a cluster of symptoms in a medical condition. Based on the pattern, TCM therapies are administered. The symptom pattern used in this study was lung-Qi deficiency pattern identified in rats, which was induced by nasal intubation drip of Pseudomonas aeruginosa(P. aeruginosa)(two strains) to form bacterial biofilm on airway combined with stimulation of cold and fatigue. We measured the variations of the symptoms of the pattern, weight, spleen and thymus index, blood gas, lung bronchial tissue pathology and cytokine of rat in different treatments and control groups.RESULTS: The rats of SH-treatment groups had not showed typical symptoms comparing with model group in the early stage of infection. The weight,spleen and thymus index of the SH-treatment groups were significantly higher comparing with untreated model group. The SH-treatment groups also showed higher O2 partial pressure and lower CO2 partial pressure than model group. Furthermore, we found that the bronchopulmonary section of SH-treatment groups not showed typical pathogenic variation in model group. The comparison of cytokine concentration in different groups indicated that SH could prevent the over-production of cytokine to reduce the inflammation occurrence.CONCLUSION: In the early stage of airway infection by biofilm of P. aeruginosa, application of SH can prevent the occurrence of lung-Qi deficiency pattern.Wu Daqiang Huang Weifeng Duan Qiangjun Cheng Huijuan 2016Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2016,36,6:1
8Numerical Modeling of NO Formation during Packed-bed Combustion of Coke Granules显示文摘A comprehensive kinetic model of NO formation during coke combustion in packed-bed in presence of noncombustible particles was developed. The detailed homogeneous gas-phase chemistry (including 102 chemical reactions), heterogeneous gas-solid chemistry (including 11 reactions) of coke combustion and NO formation, and the heat and mass transfer were taken into account in the present model. The governing equations which are strongly coupled, non-linear and unsteady with 26 unknowns in total, were dispersed into differential equations with the finite differential method. Meanwhile, all the differential equations were numerically solved to give the time-histories and space-distributions oftemperatures of the bed and gas phase as well as the concentrations of all the gaseous species. By comparison, the experimental data were explained well by the calculated results. Based on the kinetic and mathematical model, the effects of O2 content of inlet gas, the initial chemical analysis of coke, bed-temperature and local reductive atmosphere (CO/O2) on NO formation during packed-bed coke combustion were numerically discussed. It was found that coke samples with a higher initial content of [N] and volatile matters, combusted under a suitable O2-containing atmosphere produced less NO emission. 10Roles of Metallic Oxides in the Elimination Reactions of NO显示文摘The catalytic effect of several metallic oxides(Fe2O3, Cr3O3 and Ni2O3) on elimination of NO has been studied in a flow type reactor, and the roles of metallic oxide in the elimination reactions of NO has also been discussed. The results show that in the system of NO-CO-CO2-N2, the catalytic reaction of NO/CO on the metallic oxide plays a leading role in NO elimination especially for Fe2O3 and Cr2O3 samples. 11Is it universal that the layered-spinel structure can improve electrochemical performance?显示文摘The introduction of spinel phase to form the layered-spinel structure(LSS)is an effective way to improve the electrochemical performance of Li-and Mn-rich layered oxides(LMR).But is this structure universal for all LMR systems?In this work,different Mn/Ni ratio systems with the LSS are discussed in detail.It is found that,high discharge capacity(200.8 mA h g^(-1) at 1C rate;1C=250 mA h g^(-1))as well as high capacity-retention(94%at 1C rate after 100 cycles)can be achieved by forming the LSS for low-Ni system(Mn/Ni=5.0).However,the capacity retention decreases severely in the high-Ni system(Mn/Ni=3.5,2.6).For example,when the ratio of Mn/Ni is 3.5,the capacity-retention of the layered-spinel sample was only 65.8%,compared to the 83%of the original LMR sample.The Ex-situ XRD,XPS,and HRTEM results demonstrate that the introduction of spinel phase in high-Ni system accelerates the transition and collapse of the crystal structure.This work provides guidance for optimizing the proportions of elements and the design of structures for the LMR.Daqiang Wang Zhenguo Wu Wei Xiang Yuxia Liu Gongke Wang Kanghui Hu Qi Xu Yang Song Xiaodong Guo 2022Journal of Energy Chemistry2022,31,1:0
12Fission yeast cells mix parental mitochondria in a progressive manner during meiosis显示文摘Mitochondria in many fungi are inherited uniparentally during meiosis. It has remained unclear whether parental mitochondria in the fission yeast Schizosaccharomyces pombe are inherited uniparentally or biparentally. Here, we assessed the mixing of parental mitochondria carefully by live-cell microscopy and developed an algorithm to determine the degree of mitochondrial mixing in a quantitative manner. We found that parental mitochondria in fission yeast cells were mixed progressively as meiosis progressed. Moreover, we established that mitochondrial fission and the size of the conjugation neck are the limiting factors in restricting the mixing of parental mitochondria. We further employed a combination of quantitative polymerase chain reaction, fluorescent live-cell microscopy, and transmission electron microscopy approaches to examine the mitochondrial inheritance of progeny cells derived from a cross between wild-type and Rho0 (mitochondrial DNA absent) cells. The results show that all progeny cells of the cross carry mitochondrial DNA. 13NO_x Formation from Several Chinese Coals during Combustion in Packed Bed显示文摘The formation characteristics of NOx during combustion of four typical Chinese coals have been studied in a packed bed combustor. The studies included the effects of chemical composition of coals and volatile matters, and combustion conditions, i.e. preheating temperatures of combustion gas, on conversion of NOx during combustion. In term of the combustion experiments, there is a close relation between coal composition and conversions of NOx. Coals with a higher nitrogen content give a lower FNOx0, and coals with a higher volatile content give a lower FNOx0. The further devolatilization experiments showed that volatile matters in the coal have an important effect on reducing conversion of coal-nitrogen to NOx. It was interpreted as that the release of volatile matters during combustion caused a fuel-rich circumstance in the vicinity of coal particles which may restrain the formation of NOx. Preheating temperatures of combustion gas has significant effects on conversions of NOx and there exist a critical preheating temperature. 14Restraining NO_x Formation during Coal Combustion in Packed Bed显示文摘The effects of various combustion conditions (i. e. particle size of coals, oxygen concentration in combustion gas and coal content in the fuel bed, etc.), on reducing conversion of NOx during coal combustion were studied. Under the present combustion conditions, coals with smaller particle size gave the lower conversion of NOx, and as expected that an decrease in overall stoichiometric ratio, whether by an decrease in O2 content in combustion gas or by an increase in coal content in fuel bed would lead to a lower conversion of NOx. In order to investigate the effect of metallic oxide layers on restraining NOx formation, the combustion experiments for coal granules with adhering layer of various metallic oxides including Fe2O3, Ni2O3 and mixed oxides Fe-Ni-Ox were conducted in a packed bed combustor. 15Tuning the Structure of Fe-Tetracarboxylate Frameworks Through Linker-Symmetry Reduction显示文摘The design and synthesis of stable metal–organic frameworks(MOFs)have been a core obstacle in the widespread application of these functional crystalline porous materials,because of the stability limitations of MOFs under harsh operating conditions.Herein,a highly stable microporous MOF based on the Fe_(3)O cluster(PCN-678)has been synthesized using a tetracarboxylate ligand.Utilizing symmetry reduced tetratopic carboxylate ligand,a mesoporous MOF(PCN-668)could be obtained in which nanoscale cage-like building units and one-dimensional(1D)channels coexist.The neighboring cages were mutual diastereomers in PCN-668 due to the further reduction of the Cs symmetry of the free ligand to C1 symmetry after self-assembly.Furthermore,the acid stability of this mesoporous MOF was improved via postsynthetic metal exchange to chromium(PCN-668-Cr).The PCN-668-Cr exhibited very high stability in both acidic and basic aqueous solutions(pH=1–11).Additionally,the mesoporous MOF showed a high total gravimetric methane uptake(∼500 cm^(3) g^(−1) at 100 bar),while the microporous MOF showed a high volumetric methane storage capacity of 147 cm3 cm−3 at room temperature.Jiandong Pang Christina T.Lollar Sai Che Jun-Sheng Qin Jialuo Li Peiyu Cai Mingyan Wu Daqiang Yuan Maochun Hong Hong-Cai Zhou 2021CCS Chemistry2021,3,2:0
16The competitive and synergistic effect between adsorption enthalpy and capacity in D_(2)/H_(2)separation of M_(2)(m-dobdc)frameworks显示文摘Hydrogen isotope separation is a challenging task due to their similar properties.Herein,based on the chemical affinity quantum sieve(CAQS)effect,the D_(2)/H_(2)separation performance of M_(2)(m-dobdc)(M=Co,Ni,Mg,Mn;m-dobdc^(4-)=4,6-dioxido-1,3-benzenedicarboxylate),a series of honeycomb-shaped MOFs with high stability and abundant open metal sites,are studied by gases sorption and breakthrough experiments,in which two critical factors,gas uptake and adsorption enthalpy,are taken into consideration.Among these MOFs,Co_(2)(m-dobdc)exhibits the longest D_(2)retention time of 180 min/g(H_(2)/D_(2)/Ne:1/1/98)at 77 K because of its second-highest adsorption enthalpy(10.7 kJ/mol for H_(2)and 11.8 kJ/mol for D_(2))and the best sorption capacity(5.22 mmol/g for H_(2)and 5.49 mmol/g for D_(2))under low pressure of 1 kPa and 77 K,which make it a promising material for industrial hydrogen isotope separation.Moreover,the results indicate that H_(2)and D_(2)capacities under low pressure(about 1 kPa)dominate the final D_(2)/H_(2)separation property of MOFs.Fan Wu Liqiong Li Yanxi Tan El-Sayed M.El-Sayed Daqiang Yuan 2021Chinese Chemical Letters2021,32,11:0
17Possibility of Reducing Formations of NO_x and SO_2 Simultaneously during Coal Combustion显示文摘Comparing with other NOx and SO2 control technologies, in-bed reducing NOx and SO2 simultaneously during coal combustion may lower the investment and operation cost. However, there are several possible contradictions between the reduction of NOx and the capture of SO2 during combustion: 1) CO rich atmosphere is favorable for the reduction of NOx, whereas O2 rich favorable for the capture of SO2; 2) higher preheating temperature of coal is favorable for reducing NOx, but unfavorable for reducing SO2; 3) sulphation of some minerals may deactivate their catalytic effect on the reduction of NOx. The attempts to eliminate such contradictions by coating coal granules with thin layer of monometallic oxides and mixed oxides were proposed. Ni2O3 and Fe2O3 showed high activity on NOx reduction and CaO and Cr2O3 showed good effect on sulfur capture. The mixed metallic oxides, e.g., Fe2O3NiO, etc., showed effective for both NOx reduction and SO2 retention.
