Preparation and anisotropic properties of textured structural ceramics: A review显示文摘Ceramics are usually composed of randomly oriented grains and intergranular phases, so their properties are the statistical average along each direction and show isotropy corresponding to the uniform microstructures. Some methods have been developed to achieve directional grain arrangement and preferred orientation growth during ceramic preparation, and then textured ceramics with anisotropic properties are obtained. Texture microstructures give particular properties to ceramics along specific directions, which can effectively expand their application fields. In this review, typical texturing techniques suitable for ceramic materials, such as hot working, magnetic alignment, and templated grain growth(TGG), are discussed. Several typical textured structural ceramics including α-Al2O3 and related nacre bioinspired ceramics, Si3N4 and SiAlON, h-BN, MB2 matrix ultra-high temperature ceramics, MAX phases and their anisotropic properties are presented. | Zhuo ZHANG Xiaoming DUAN Baofu QIU Zhihua YANG Delong CAI Peigang HE Dechang JIA Yu ZHOU | 2019 | Journal of Advanced Ceramics2019,8,3: | 14
Kinematics of syn-tectonic unconformities and implications for the tectonic evolution of the Hala'alat Mountains at the northwestern margin of the Junggar Basin,Central Asian Orogenic Belt显示文摘The Hala'alat Mountains are located at the transition between the West Junggar and the Junggar Basin. In this area, rocks are Carboniferous, with younger strata above them that have been identified through well data and high-resolution 3D seismic profiles.Among these strata, seven unconformities are observed and distributed at the bases of:the Permian Jiamuhe Formation, the Permian Fengcheng Formation, the Triassic Baikouquan Formation, the Jurassic Badaowan Formation, the Jurassic Xishanyao Formation, the Cretaceous Tugulu Group and the Paleogene. On the basis of balanced sections, these unconformities are determined to have been formed by erosion of uplifts or rotated fault blocks primarily during the Mesozoic and Cenozoic. In conjunction with the currently understood tectonic background of the surrounding areas, the following conclusions are proposed:the unconformities at the bases of the Permian Jiamuhe and Fengcheng formations are most likely related to the subduction and closure of the Junggar Ocean during the late Carboniferous-early Permian;the unconformities at the bases of the Triassic Baikouquan and Jurassic Badaowan formations are closely related to the late Permian-Triassic Durbut sinistral slip fault;the unconformities at the bases of the middle Jurassic Xishanyao Formation and Cretaceous Tugulu Group may be related to reactivation of the Durbut dextral slip fault in the late Jurassic-early Cretaceous, and the unconformity that gives rise to the widely observed absence of the upper Cretaceous in the northern Junggar Basin may be closely related to large scale uplift. All of these geological phenomena indicate that the West Junggar was not calm in the Mesozoic and Cenozoic and that it experienced at least four periods of tectonic movement. | Delong Ma Dengfa He Di Li Jieyun Tang Zheng Liu | 2015 | Geoscience Frontiers2015,6,2: | 9
Large-scale thrusting at the northern Junggar Basin since Cretaceous and its implications for the rejuvenation of the Central Asian Orogenic Belt显示文摘The Wulungu Depression is the northernmost first-order tectonic unit in the Junggar Basin. It can be divided into three sub-units:the Hongyan step-fault zone, the Suosuoquan sag and the Wulungu south slope. The Cenozoic strata in the basin are intact and Mesozoic—Cenozoic deformation can be observed in the Wulungu step-fault zone,so this is an ideal place to study the Mesozoic—Cenozoic deformation.By integration of fault-related folding theories, regional geology and drilling data, the strata of the Cretaceous—Paleogene systems are divided into small layers which are selected as the subjects of this research. The combination of the developing unconformity with existing growth strata makes it conceivable that faults on the step-fault zone have experienced different degrees of reactivation of movement since the Cretaceous.Evolutionary analyses of the small layers using 2D-Move software showed certain differences in the reactivation of different segments of the Wulungu Depression such as the timing of reactivation of thrusting, for which the reactivity time of the eastern segment was late compared with those of the western and middle segments. In addition the resurrection strength was similarly slightly different, with the shortening rate being higher in the western segment than in the other segments. Moreover, the thrust fault mechanism is basement-involved combined with triangle shear fold, for which a forward evolution model was proposed. | Jieyun Tang Dengfa He Di Li Delong Ma | 2015 | Geoscience Frontiers2015,6,2: | 8
A simple way to make pre-stressed ceramics with high strength显示文摘A pre-stressing design and a simple fabrication technology to substantially improve the strength of ceramic components are presented.Residual surface compressive stress is generated in ceramic components by pressureless sintering of a green bulk coated with a thin layer of low coefficient of thermal expansion(CTE).The stress level can be controlled by changing the cross-section area ratio,Young's modulus ratio and CTE ratio of the coating.Pre-stressed ZrO_(2) ceramics coated with Al_(2)O_(3) can achieve a flexural strength of 1330±52MPa,45% higher than their uncoated counterpart.Similarly, the flexural strength of building porcelain tiles is increased by 70%,from 67±3 MPa to 114±5MPa.The damage tolerance of pre-stressed ZrO_(2) ceramics is excellent with a high residual strength of ~1200 MPa in a thermal shock test at 325℃.This simple technique can improve the mechanical performance of ceramic components with no limitation of size and shape. | Yiwang Bao Fenghua Kuang Yi Sun Yueming Li Detian Wan Zongyang Shen Delong Ma Lingfeng He | 2019 | Journal of Materiomics2019,5,4: | 7
Influence of the replacement of alkoxyl with alkylthienyl on photovoltaic properties of two small molecule donors for organic solar cells显示文摘Two benzo[1,2-b:4,5-b¢]dithiophene(BDT)-based small molecule(SM) donor materials with identical conjugated backbones but different substitution groups, named as DRTB-O and DRTB-T, were well explored to demonstrate the influence of the replacement of alkoxy with alkylthienyl on their photovoltaic properties in fullerene-based and fullerene-free organic solar cells(OSCs). The study shows that the two SM donors possess similar absorption spectra and energy levels but different crystalline structures in solid films. The carrier transport property and phase separation morphologies of the blend films have also been fully investigated.By employing PC71 BM as the acceptor, the power conversion efficiency(PCE) of DRTB-O:PC71BM and DRTB-T:PC71BM based devices were 4.91% and 7.08%, respectively. However, by blending with IDIC, the two SM donors exhibited distinctly different photovoltaic properties in fullerene-free OSCs, and the PCE of DRTB-O:IDIC and DRTB-T:IDIC based devices were 0.15% and9.06%, respectively. These results indicate that the replacement of alkoxyl with alkylthienyl in designing SM donor materials plays an important role in the application of fullerene-free OSCs. | Shaoqing Zhang Liyan Yang Delong Liu Chang He Jianqi Zhang Yun Zhang Jianhui Hou | 2017 | Science China Chemistry2017,60,10: | 2
Microstructural evolution of h-BN matrix composite ceramics with La-Al-Si-O glass phase during hot-pressed sintering显示文摘BN/La-Al-Si-O composite ceramics were fabricated by hot-pressed sintering using hexagonal boron nitride(h-BN),lanthanum oxide(La_(2)O_(3)),aluminia(Al_(2)O_(3)),and amorphous silica(SiO_(2))as the raw materials. The effects of sintering temperature on microstructural evolution, bulk density, apparent porosity, and mechanical properties of the h-BN composite ceramics were investigated. The results indicated that La-Al-Si-O liquid phase was formed during sintering process, which provided an environment for the growth of h-BN grains. With increasing sintering temperature, the cristobalite phase precipitation and h-BN grain growth occurred at the same time, which had a significant influence on the densification and mechanical properties of h-BN composite ceramics. The best mechanical properties of BN/La-Al-Si-O composite ceramics were obtained under the sintering temperature of 1700℃.The elastic modulus, flexural strength, and fracture toughness were 80.5 GPa,266.4 MPa,and 3.25 MPa·m^(1/2),respectively. | Baofu QIU Xiaoming DUAN Zhuo ZHANG Chen ZHAO Bo NIU Peigang HE Delong CAI Lei CHEN Zhihua YANG Yujin WANG Dechang JIA Yu ZHOU | 2021 | Journal of Advanced Ceramics2021,10,3: | 2

Cu_(2−x)S derived copper nanoparticles:A platform for unraveling the role of surface reconstruction in efficient electrocatalytic CO_(2)-to-C_(2)H_(4)conversion显示文摘Cu-based electrocatalysts have provoked much attention for their high activity and selectivity in carbon dioxide(CO_(2))conversion into multi-carbon hydrocarbons. However, during the electrochemical reaction,Cu catalysts inevitably undergo surface reconstruction whose impact on CO_(2)conversion performance remains contentious. Here we report that polycrystalline Cu nanoparticles(denoted as Cu-s)with rich high-index facets, derived from Cu_(2−x)S through desulphurization and surface reconstruction, offer an excellent platform for investigating the role of surface reconstruction in electrocatalytic CO_(2)conversion.During the formation of Cu-s catalyst, the two stages of desulphurization and surface reconstruction can be clearly resolved by in situ X-ray absorption spectroscopy and OH−adsorption characterizations, which are well correlated with the changes in electrocatalytic performance. It turns out that the high CO_(2)conversion performance, achieved by the Cu-s catalyst(Faradic efficiency of 68.6%and partial current density of 40.8 mA/cm^(2)in H-cell toward C_(2)H_(4)production),is attributed to the increased percentage of high-index facets in Cu-s during the surface reconstruction.Furthermore, the operando electrochemical Raman spectroscopy further reveals that the conversion of the CO_(2)into the C_(2)H_(4)on Cu-s is intermediated by the production of*COCHO.Our findings manifest that the surface reconstruction is an effective method for tuning the reaction intermediate of the CO_(2)conversion toward high-value multicarbon(C2+)chemicals,and highlight the significance of in situ characterizations in enhancing the understanding of the surface structure and its role in electrocatalysis. | Chaohua He Delong Duan Jingxiang Low Yu Bai Yawen Jiang Xinyu Wang Shuangming Chen Ran Long Li Song Yujie Xiong | 2023 | Nano Research2023,16,4: | 1
Nitrogen Reduction to Ammonia by a Phosphorus-Nitrogen PN^(3) P-Mo(V)Nitride Complex:Significant Enhancement via Ligand Postmodification显示文摘Efforts to develop organometallic complexes for catalytic nitrogen reduction have seen significant progress in recent years. However, the strategies for improving the activity of the homogenous catalysts have mainly focused on alternating ligands and metals.Herein,we report that the activity and stability of a PN_(P-Mo pincer complex(2)toward dinitrogen(N_(2))reduction were greatly enhanced through postmodification of the PN^(3)P pincer framework of its parent complex(1).A high ratio of NH_(3)/Mo(3525)was achieved in the presence of SmI_(2)as a reductant. In sharp contrast,1 only afforded an NH_(3)/Mo ratio of 21.Moreover,when supported by an anionic pincer ligand,2 furnished a high oxidation state Mo(V)-nitride complex via N_(2)cleavage as a plausible key intermediate in the catalytic process, suggesting a catalytic cycle that may involve different oxidation states(Ⅱ/Ⅴ)from those with 10-πelectron configuration in the literature. | Delong Han Priyanka Chakraborty Mei-Hui Huang Li Yang Hao Huang Théo P.Gonçalves Abdul Hamid Emwas Zhiping Lai Jr-Hau He Aleksander Shkurenko Mohamed Eddaoudi Kuo-Wei Huang | 2023 | CCS Chemistry2023,5,3: | 0
Microstructural evolution and mechanical properties of in situ nano Ta_(4)HfC_(5) reinforced SiBCN composite ceramics显示文摘The in situ nano Ta_(4)HfC_(5) reinforced SiBCN-Ta_(4)HfC_(5) composite ceramics were prepared by a combination of two-step mechanical alloying and reactive hot-pressing sintering. The microstructural evolution and mechanical properties of the resulting SiBCN-Ta_(4)HfC_(5) were studied. After the first-step milling of 30 h,the raw materials of TaC and HfC underwent crushing, cold sintering, and short-range interdiffusion to finally obtain the high pure nano Ta_(4)HfC_(5).A hybrid structure of amorphous SiBCN and nano Ta_(4)HfC_(5) was obtained by adopting a second-step ball-milling.After reactive hot-pressing sintering, amorphous SiBCN has crystallized to 3C-SiC,6H-SiC,and turbostratic BN(C)phases and Ta_(4)HfC_(5) retained the form of the nanostructure. With the in situ generations of 2.5 wt% Ta_(4)HfC_(5),Ta_(4)HfC_(5) is preferentially distributed within the turbostratic BN(C);however,as Ta_(4)HfC_(5) content further raised to 10 wt%,it mainly distributed in the grain-boundary of BN(C) and SiC.The introduction of Ta_(4)HfC_(5) nanocrystals can effectively improve the flexural strength and fracture toughness of SiBCN ceramics, reaching to 344.1 MPa and 4.52 MPa·m^(1/2),respectively.This work has solved the problems of uneven distribution of ultra-high temperature phases in the ceramic matrix, which is beneficial to the real applications of SiBCN ceramics. | Bingzhu WANG Daxin LI Zhihua YANG Dechang JIA Jingyi GUAN Hao PENG Delong CAI Peigang HE Xiaoming DUAN Yu ZHOU Tao ZHANG Chenguang GAO | 2020 | Journal of Advanced Ceramics2020,9,6: | 0
Reliability Sensitivity Analysis for Drum Brake on Modal Stress显示文摘A reliability sensitivity analysis based on modal stress is presented and applied to predict the influence factors of parameters on drum brake.Firstly, the first 10 modes of prestress of the brake drum are performed in the software ANSYS Workbench.According to the results of brake noise research,it can be detected whether the drum brake meets the results that the noise frequency range of 500-1000 Hz.The reliability sensitivity design of mechanical parts based on the normal distribution parameters for complex mechanical system is discussed.Secondly, according to the first order second moment(FOSM)theory on reliability, the reliability sensitivity of drum brake is analyzed and calculated, and compared with the Monte Carlo(MC)numerical simulation results,The variation rules of reliability sensitivity is given, which provides a theoretical basis for the design of drum brake. | HE Ning ZHANG Delong ZHANG Qinghua | 2021 | International Journal of Plant Engineering and Management2021,26,4: | 0
Enhanced composite thermal conductivity by percolated networks of in-situ confined-grown carbon nanotubes显示文摘Despite the ever-increasing demand of nanofillers for thermal enhancement of polymer composites with higher thermal conductivity and irregular geometry, nanomaterials like carbon nanotubes(CNTs)have been constrained by the nonuniform dispersion and difficulty in constructing effective three-dimensional(3D)conduction network with low loading and desired isotropic or anisotropic(specific preferred heat conduction)performances.Herein,we illustrated the in-situ construction of CNT based 3D heat conduction networks with different directional performances.First,to in-situ construct an isotropic percolated conduction network, with spherical cores as support materials,we developed a confined-growth technique for CNT-core sea urchin(CNTSU)materials. With 21.0 wt.%CNTSU loading, the thermal conductivity of composites reached 1.43±0.13 W/(m·K).Secondly,with aligned hexagonal boron nitride(hBN)as an anisotropic support,we constructed CNT-hBN aligned networks by in-situ CNT growth, which improved the utilization efficiency of high density hBN and reduced the thermal interface resistance between matrix and fillers.With~8.5 wt.%loading, the composites possess thermal conductivity up to 0.86±0.14 W/(m·K),374%of that for neat matrix.Due to the uniformity of CNTs in hBN network, the synergistic thermal enhancement from one-dimensional(1D)+two-dimensional(2D)hybrid materials becomes more distinct.Based on the detailed experimental evidence, the importance of purposeful production of a uniformly interconnected heat conduction 3D network with desired directional performance can be observed, particularly compared with the traditional direct-mixing method. This study opens new possibilities for the preparation of high-power-density electronics packaging and interfacial materials when both directional thermal performance and complex composite geometry are simultaneously required. | Xiao Zhang Wei Tan Tian Carey Bo Wen Delong He Adrees Arbab Alex Groombridge Fiona Smail Jean de La Verpilliere Chengning Yao Yanchun Wang Xiaojun Wei Huaping Liu Sishen Xie Felice Torrisi Michael De Volder Weiya Zhou Adam Boies | 2023 | Nano Research2023,16,11: | 0
Typical synergistic effect of graphite nanoplatelets and carbon nanotubes and its influence on polymer-based dielectric composites显示文摘Graphite nanoplatelets(GNPs)with their intrinsic two-dimensional structure make an excellent compromise of advantages of both graphite and graphene.Due to their outstanding inherent properties,GNPs have been widely used as the functional fillers to improve certain performances of polymer-based composites. However, the multi-layer stacked construction of GNPs could form aggregations easily, which limits their application in polymer-based dielectric composites. Here, the authors exhibit a polydimethylsilicone(PDMS)-based nanocomposite which loading equivalent carbon nanotubes(CNTs)and GNPs as co-loading fillers, whose dielectric properties are improved significantly. The composites were fabricated through a highly-shearing mechanical mixing process.During the mixing process, both intrinsic CNTs entanglements and GNPs stacked aggregation could be ameliorated due to the interaction between these two types of fillers.Compared with the GNPs solely loaded composites,a small quantity of CNTs addition endows GNPs/CNTs/PDMS ternary composites with a significantly decreased percolation threshold(f_(c)∼1.7 vol.%).Both GNPs and CNTs,these two representative conductive carbon constructions with high aspect ratios are able to effectively enhance the establishing efficiency of internal conductive network inner composites. These results indicate that the development of internal conductive network and dielectric performance of nanocomposites are able to be optimised through the strategy of taking advantage of the synergistic effect of multi-type fillers reasonably. | Hang Zhao Minhao Yang Delong He Yu Liu Jintao Bai Hui Wang Haowei Chen Jinbo Bai | 2016 | High Voltage2016,1,4: | 0
Influences of graphene nanoplatelet aspect ratio and thermal treatment on dielectric performances of poly(methyl methacrylate)composites显示文摘The dielectric property and percolated behaviour of polymer matrix composites largely depend on the morphology of conductive fillers and external stimulations especially when the composites are processed by melting blending and extrusion-injection way.In this study, the poly(methyl methacrylate)(PMMA)matrix composites incorporated by two kinds of graphene nanoplatelets(GNP),G5 and G150 with different aspect ratios(the ratio of diameter and thickness)are prepared to study the influence of GNP morphology on the dielectric performances close to percolation threshold(f_(c)).After annealing at glass transition temperature(T_(g))for 1 h,the dielectric permittivities of PMMA/G5 and PMMA/G150 near fc increase 43 and 38%,respectively,while the dielectric loss change little. This improvement on the dielectric property is possibly attributed to the slight change of the distance between adjacent GNPs after annealing at T_(g)which enables to arouse stronger polarisation by tunnelling effect. | Benhui Fan Yu Liu Delong He Jinbo Bai | 2016 | High Voltage2016,1,4: | 0
Texture and anisotropy of hot-pressed h-BN matrix composite ceramics with in situ formed YAG显示文摘Textured hexagonal boron nitride(h-BN)matrix composite ceramics were prepared by hotpressing using different contents of 3Y_(2)O_(3)–5Al_(2)O_(3)(molar ratio of 3:5)as the sintering additive.During hot-pressing,the liquid Y_(3)Al_(5)O_(12)(YAG)phase showing good wettability to h-BN grains was in situ formed through the reaction between Y_(2)O_(3) and Al_(2)O_(3),and a coherent relationship between h-BN and YAG was observed with[010]_(h-BN)//[111]_(YAG) and(002)_(h-BN)//(321)_(YAG).In the YAG liquid phase environment formed during hot-pressing,plate-like h-BN grains were rotated under the uniaxial sintering pressure and preferentially oriented with their basal surfaces perpendicular to the sintering pressure direction, forming textured microstructures with the c-axis of h-BN grains oriented parallel to the sintering pressure direction, which give these composite ceramics anisotropy in their mechanical and thermal properties. The highest texture degree was found in the specimen with 30 wt%YAG,which also possesses the highest anisotropy degree in thermal conductivity. The aggregation of YAG phase was observed in the specimen with 40 wt%YAG,which resulted in the buckling of h-BN plates and significantly reduced the texture degree. | Zhuo ZHANG Xiaoming DUAN Zhuo TIAN Yujin WANG Lan WANG Lei CHEN Baofu QIU Delong CAI Peigang HE Dechang JIA Yu ZHOU | 2022 | Journal of Advanced Ceramics2022,11,4: | 0
