3Photosynthetic Behaviour and Mineral Nutrition of Tamarix gallica Cultivated Under Aluminum and NaCl Combined Stress显示文摘The lack of knowledge of plant tolerance and differential response to aluminum(Al)encouraged many researchers,in the last decade,to elucidate Al toxicity and tolerance mechanisms.The current study reported the impact of Al,a toxic element with negative effects on plant growth and development,in halophytic plant Tamarix gallica.Plants were subjected to different Al concentrations(0,200,500 and 800μM)with or without NaCl(200 mM)supplementation.Growth,photosynthesis and mineral content were assessed.Al stress had a significant decrease on shoots’biomass production between 19 to 41%,and a little variation on chlorophyll content and photosynthetic efficiency(Fo,Fm,Fv fluorescence’s and Fv/Fm).Furthermore,the Al-treatments did not affect significantly the content of potassium,calcium,and magnesium in different plant parts,whereas NaCl addition to the medium induced a decrease in these elements’concentrations.Our results have shown that T.gallica is able to accumulate the high levels of Al in shoots and roots,6288μg.g^(-1) DW and 7834μg.g^(-1) DW respectively.It is considered as a hyperaccumulator plant of Al.In addition,Na+contents in shoots and roots exceed 23000μg.g^(-1) DW.Therefore,T.gallica presents a high tolerance at the same time to Al and NaCl phytotoxicity,so it is interesting to use in phytoremediation programs.Dhouha Belhaj Sghaier Insaf Bankaji Sylvia Pedro Isabel Caçador Noomene Sleimi 2019Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany2019,88,3:1

12Investigation of coupling effect on the evolution of Richtmyer-Meshkov instability at double heavy square bubbles显示文摘This study investigates numerically the coupling effect on the evolution of Richtmyer-Meshkov instability at double heavy square bubbles.Five scenarios are considered,each with varying initial separations S/L(where L demotes the side length of the square)ranging from 0.125 to 1.0.Squares are filled with SF6gas,and are enclosed by N2gas.The simulations of shock-induced multispecies flow are performed by solving the two-dimensional compressible Euler equations with a higher-order explicit modal discontinuous Galerkin solver.The simulations demonstrate that the flow morphology resulting from the coupling effect is highly dependent on the separation between two squares.When the separation is large,the squares experience a weaker coupling effect and evolve independently.While,as the separation reduces,the coupling effect manifests earlier in the interaction and becomes more substantial.As a result,this phenomenon greatly intensifies the motion of inner upstream/downstream vortex rings towards the symmetry axis,leading to the emergence of multiple jets such as the twisted downward,upward,and coupled jets.A thorough exploration of the coupling effect of double squares is conducted by analyzing the vorticity production.Notably,a significant quantity of vorticity is produced along the squares interface for smaller separation.Further,these coupling effects result in various interface features(upstream/downstream movement,and height/width evolution),and temporal variations of various spatially integrated fields.Finally,the analysis of the flow structure also considers the interaction between two more flow parameters,the Mach and Atwood numbers,in order to evaluate the coupling effects.Satyvir Singh Dhouha Taib Jalleli 2024Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2024,67,1:0
