| 1 | New perspectives in the treatment of advanced or metastatic gastric cancer显示文摘Metastatic gastric cancer remains an incurable disease,with a relative 5-year survival rate of 7%-27%.Chemotherapy,which improves overall survival(OS) and quality of life,is the main treatment option.Metaanalysis has demonstrated that the best survival results obtained in earlier randomized studies were achieved with three-drug regimens containing a fluoropyrimidine,an anthracycline,and cisplatin(ECF).Although there has been little progress in improving median OS times beyond the 9-mo plateau achievable with the standard regimens,the availability of newer agents has provided some measure of optimism.A number of new combinations incorporating docetaxel,oxaliplatin,capecitabine,and S-1 have been explored in randomized trials.Some combinations,such as epirubicin-oxaliplatin-capecitabine,have been shown to be as effective as(or perhaps more effective than) ECF,and promising early data have been derived for S-1 in combination with cisplatin.One factor that might contribute to extending median OS is the advancement whenever possible to second-line cytotoxic treatments.However,the biggest hope for signif icant survival advances in the near future would be the combination of new targeted biological agents with existing chemotherapy f irst-line regimens. | Gerardo Rosati Domenica Ferrara Luigi Manzione | 2009 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2009，15，22： | 41 |
| 2 | Subcapsular hepatic haematoma of the right lobe following endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography: Case report and literature review显示文摘Sub capsular hepatic haematoma is a rare complication after endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography(ERCP). Exact pathological mechanism is still unclear and few reports are nowadays available in literature. We report the case of a 58-year-old woman with recurrent episodes of upper abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting. On the basis of laboratory exams, abdomen ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging she was diagnosed with a common bile duct stone. Endoscopic biliary sphincterotomy was performed. On the following day the patient complaint severe abdominal pain with rebound and hemodynamic instability. A computed tomography scan reveal a 14 cm × 6 cm × 19 cm subcapsular hepatic haematoma on the right lobe that was successfully managed via percutaneous embolization. | 3 | Superlubricity of epitaxial monolayer WS2 on graphene显示文摘We report the superlubric sliding of monolayer tungsten disulfide (WS2) onepitaxial graphene (EG) grown on silicon carbide (SIC). Single-crystalline WS2flakes with lateral size of hundreds of nanometers are obtained via chemicalvapor deposition (CVD) on EG. Microscopic and diffraction analyses indicatethat the WS2/EG stack is predominantly aligned with zero azimuthal rotation.The present experiments show that, when perturbed by a scanning probemicroscopy (SPM) tip, the WS2 flakes are prone to slide over the graphenesurfaces at room temperature. Atomistic force field-based molecular dynamicssimulations indicate that, through local physical deformation of the WS2 flake,the scanning tip releases enough energy to the flake to overcome the motionactivation barrier and trigger an ultralow-friction rototranslational displacement,that is superlubric. Experimental observations show that, after sliding, the WS2flakes come to rest with a rotation of nn/3 with respect to graphene. Moreover,atomically resolved measurements show that the interface is atomically sharpand the WS2 lattice is strain-free. | 5 | Evidence for a role of mitogen-activated protein kinases in the treatment of experimental acute pancreatitis显示文摘Acute pancreatitis(AP) is an inflammatory disease characterized by acute inflammation and necrosis of the pancreatic parenchyma. AP is often associated with organ failure, sepsis, and high mortality. The pathogenesis of AP is still not well understood. In recent years several papers have highlighted the cellular and molecular events of acute pancreatitis. Pancreatitis is initiated by activation of digestive enzymes within the acinar cells that are involved in autodigestion of the gland, followed by a massive infiltration of neutrophils and macrophages and release of inflammatory mediators, responsible for the local and systemic inflammatory response. The hallmark of AP is parenchymal cell necrosis that represents the cause of the high morbidity and mortality, so that new potential therapeutic approaches are indispensable for the treatment of patients at high risk of complications. However, not all factors that determine the onset and course of the disease have been explained.
