Biosorption mechanisms involved in immobilization of soil Pb by Bacillus subtilis DBM in a multi-metal-contaminated soil显示文摘Mechanisms of soil Pb immobilization by Bacillus subtilis DBM, a bacterial strain isolated from a heavy-metal-contaminated soil, were investigated. Adsorption and desorption experiments with living bacterial cells as well as dead cells revealed that both extracellular adsorption and intracellular accumulation were involved in the Pb2+removal from the liquid phase. Of the sequestered Pb(II), 8.5% was held by physical entrapment within the cell wall, 43.3% was held by ion-exchange, 9.7% was complexed with cell surface functional groups or precipitated on the cell surface, and 38.5% was intracellularly accumulated.Complexation of Pb2+with carboxyl, hydroxyl, carbonyl, amido, and phosphate groups was demonstrated by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopic analysis. Precipitates of Pb5(PO4)3OH, Pb5(PO4)3Cl and Pb10(PO4)6(OH)2that formed on the cell surface during the biosorption process were identified by X-ray diffraction analysis. Transmission electron microscopy–energy dispersive spectroscopic analysis confirmed the presence of the Pb(II)precipitates and that Pb(II) could be sequestered both extracellularly and intracellularly.Incubation with B. subtilis DBM significantly decreased the amount of the weak-acid-soluble Pb fraction in a heavy-metal-contaminated soil, resulting in a reduction in Pb bioavailability, but increased the amount of its organic-matter-bound fraction by 71%. The ability of B.subtilis DBM to reduce the bioavailability of soil Pb makes it potentially useful for bacteria-assisted phytostabilization of multi-heavy-metal-contaminated soil.Jun Bai Xiuhong Yang Ruiying Du Yanmei Chen Shizhong Wang Rongliang Qiu 2014Journal of Environmental Sciences2014,26,10:22

FACOR:Flexible Access Control with Outsourceable Revocation in Mobile Clouds显示文摘Access control is a key mechanism to secure outsourced data in mobile clouds. Some existing solutions are proposed to enforce flexible access control on outsourced data or reduce the computations performed by mobile devices. However, less attention has been paid to the efficiency of revocation when there are mobile devices needed to be revoked. In this paper, we put forward a new solution, referred to as flexible access control with outsourceable revocation(FACOR) for mobile clouds. The FACOR applies the attribute-based encryption to enable flexible access control on outsourced data, and allows mobile users to outsource the time-consuming encryption and decryption computations to proxies, with only requiring attributes authorization to be fully trusted. As an advantageous feature, FACOR provides an outsourceable revocation for mobile users to reduce the complicated attribute-based revocation operations. The security analysis shows that our FACOR scheme achieves data security against collusion attacks and unauthorized accesses from revoked users. Both theoretical and experimental results confirm that our proposed scheme greatly reliefs the mobile devices from heavy encryption and decryption computations, as well as the complicated revocation of access rights in mobile clouds.ZHOU Shungan DU Ruiying CHEN Jing SHEN Jian DENG Hua ZHANG Huanguo 2016China Communications2016,13,4:2
Intrusion Detection Model Based on Incomplete Information Ga me in Wireless Mesh Networks显示文摘Wireless Mesh Networks (WMNs) have many applications in homes, schools, enterprises, and public places because of their useful characteristics, such as high bandwidth, high speed, and wide coverage. However, the security of wireless mesh networks is a precondition for practical use. Intrusion detection is pivotal for increasing network security. Considering the energy limitations in wireless mesh networks, we adopt two types of nodes: Heavy Intrusion Detection Node (HIDN) and Light Intrusion Detection Node (LIDN). To conserve energy, the LIDN detects abnormal behavior according to probability, while the HIDN, which has sufficient energy, is always operational. In practice, it is very difficult to acquire accurate information regarding attackers. We propose an intrusion detection model based on the incomplete information game (ID-IIG). The ID-IIG utilizes the Harsanyi transformation and Bayesian Nash equilibrium to select the best strategies of defenders, although the exact attack probability is unknown. Thus, it can effectively direct the deployment of defenders. Through experiments, we analyze the performance of ID-IIG and verify the existence and attainability of the Bayesian Nash equilibrium.Chen Jing Du Ruiying Yu Fajiang Zheng Minghui Zhang Huanguo 2012China Communications2012,9,10:1
An Extended Hierarchical Trusted Model for Wireless Sensor Networks显示文摘Cryptography and authentication are traditional approach for providing network security. However, they are not sufficient for solving the problems which malicious nodes compromise whole wireless sensor network leading to invalid data transmission and wasting resource by using vicious behaviors. This paper puts forward an extended hierarchical trusted architecture for wireless sensor network, and establishes trusted congregations by three-tier framework. The method combines statistics, economics with encrypt mechanism for developing two trusted models which evaluate cluster head nodes and common sensor nodes respectively. The models form logical trusted-link from command node to common sensor nodes and guarantees the network can run in secure and reliable circumstance.DU Ruiying XU Mingdi ZHANG Huanguo 2006Wuhan University Journal of Natural Sciences2006,11,6:1
Time effects of rice straw and engineered bacteria on reduction of exogenous Cu mobility in three typical Chinese soils显示文摘Globally, copper(Cu)accumulation in soils is a major environmental concern.Agricultural organic waste and some bacterial species can readily absorb metals in an eco-friendly manner, and thus are commonly used in metal-contaminated soil remediation. This study investigates the change in Cu fractions during the aging process and the time effects of rice straw(RS)and engineered bacteria(EB)(Pseudomonas putida X4/pIME)on reduction of Cu mobility.Three typical Chinese soils(red, cinnamon, and black soils)were incubated with RS or RS+EB in the presence of exogenous Cu for 24 months. The soil physicochemical properties, reactive soil components,Cu fractions, and Cu mobility were determined over time. The Cu mobility factor(MF)values were the lowest in the black soil(6.4-9.2)because of its high organic carbon and clay contents. The additions of both RS and RS+EB accelerated Cu stabilization during the aging process in all three soils. The Cu MF values decreased with time during the initial 20 months;however, the MF values increased thereafter in all soils, which might be due to the reduction of humic substances and amorphous iron oxides and the increase in iron oxides complexed on the organic matter. The reduction rates of Cu MF were similar after 16,24,and more than 24 months in the red, cinnamon, and black soils, respectively, indicating that RS and RS+EB could limit Cu mobility at different times in various soils. The RS treatment showed the greatest efficiency in reducing Cu mobility in the red, cinnamon, and black soils after 12,12,and 8 months of incubation, respectively. The RS+EB treatment was more efficient than the RS treatment in the red soil during the initial 8 months of the incubation period. Our study provides theoretical support for Cu risk assessments and RS supplementation for Cu remediation in different soils.Hanzhi SHI Dian WEN Yongdong HUANG Shoujun XU Tenghaobo DENG Furong LI Zhichao WU Xu WANG Peihua ZHAO Fuhua WANG Ruiying DU 2022Pedosphere2022,32,5:0
BotGuard: Lightweight Real-Time Botnet Detection in Software Defined Networks显示文摘The distributed detection of botnets may induce heavy computation and communication costs to network devices. Each device in related scheme only has a regional view of Internet,so it is hard to detect botnet comprehensively. In this paper,we propose a lightweight real-time botnet detection framework called BotGuard, which uses the global landscape and flexible configurability of software defined network(SDN)to identify botnets promptly. SDN,as a new network framework, can make centralized control in botnet detection, but there are still some challenges in such detections. We give a convex lens imaging graph(CLI-graph)to depict the topology characteristics of botnet, which allows SDN controller to locate attacks separately and mitigate the burden of network devices. The theoretical and experimental results prove that our scheme is capable of timely botnet detecting in SDNs with the accuracy higher than 90% and the delay less than 56 ms.CHEN Jing CHENG Xi DU Ruiying HU Li WANG Chiheng 2017Wuhan University Journal of Natural Sciences2017,22,2:0
COVID-19 induces new-onset insulin resistance and lipid metabolic dysregulation via regulation of secreted metabolic factors显示文摘Abnormal glucose and lipid metabolism in COVID-19 patients were recently reported with unclear mechanism. In this study,we retrospectively investigated a cohort of COVID-19 patients without pre-existing metabolic-related diseases, and found new-onset in suli n resista nee, hyperglycemia, and decreased HDL-C in these patie nts.Mecha nistically,SARS-CoV-2 infecti on in creased the expression of RE1-silencing transcription factor(REST),which modulated the expression of secreted metabolic factors including myeloperoxidase, apelin, and myostatin at the transcriptional level, resulting in the perturbation of glucose and lipid metabolism.Furthermore, several lipids,including(±)5-HETE,(±)12-HETE,propionic acid, and isobutyric acid were identified as the potential biomarkers of COVID-19-induced metabolic dysregulation, especially in insulin resistance.Taken together, our study revealed insulin resistance as the direct cause of hyperglycemia upon COVID-19,and further illustrated the underlying mechanisms, providing potential therapeutic targets for COVID-19-induced metabolic complications.Xi He Chenshu Liu Jiangyun Peng Zilun Li Fang Li Jian Wang Ao Hu Meixiu Peng Kan Huang Dongxiao Fan Na Li Fuchun Zhang Weiping Cai Xinghua Tan Zhongwei Hu Xilong Deng Yueping Li Xiaoneng Mo Linghua Li Yaling Shi Li Yang Yuanyuan Zhu Yanrong Wu Huichao Liang Baolin Liao Wenxin Hong Ruiying He Jiaojiao Li Pengle Guo Youguang Zhuo Lingzhai Zhao Fengyu Hu Wenxue Li Wei Zhu Zefeng Zhang Zeling Guo Wei Zhang Xiqiang Hong Wei kang Cai Lei Gu Ziming Du Yang Zhang Jin Xu Tao Zuo Kai Deng Li Yan Xinwen Chen Sifan Chen Chunliang Lei 2022Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2022,7,1:0
A Message Digest Disposing Algorithm Based on RC4显示文摘The characteristics of the wireless network determinethe requirement of lightweight cryptography. Towards the hugecost of an existing algorithm such as MD5, this paper proposes amessage digest scheme based on the RC4 algorithm which broadens the application area of the RC4 and decreases the requirementof resource or cost. To test the randomicity of the algorithm's digest, fifteen kinds of randomicity test to NIST randomicity teststandard had been done, and the comparative analysis whichcompares the digest's randomicity of the algorithm with MD5 hadbeen performed as well. The performance of the algorithm hadbeen analyzed in aspects of mono-directivity, randomicity, practicality and complexness. Statistic tests and analysis results illustrated that our scheme was of low cost of computing, good statisticperformance, high running speed and lightweight.LIUYabin CHEN Jing DU Ruiying ZHANG Huanguo 2010Wuhan University Journal of Natural Sciences2010,15,3:0
Zooplankton biodiversity monitoring in polluted freshwater ecosystems:A technical review显示文摘Freshwater ecosystems harbor a vast diversity of micro-eukaryotes(rotifers,crustaceans and protists),and such diverse taxonomic groups play important roles in ecosystem functioning and services.Unfortunately, freshwater ecosystems and biodiversity therein are threatened by many environmental stressors, particularly those derived from intensive human activities such as chemical pollution. In the past several decades, significant efforts have been devoted to halting biodiversity loss to recover services and functioning of freshwater ecosystems.Biodiversity monitoring is the first and a crucial step towards diagnosing pollution impacts on ecosystems and making conservation plans.Yet,bio-monitoring of ubiquitous micro-eukaryotes is extremely challenging, owing to many technical issues associated with micro-zooplankton such as microscopic size, fuzzy morphological features, and extremely high biodiversity. Here,we review current methods used for monitoring zooplankton biodiversity to advance management of impaired freshwater ecosystems. We discuss the development of traditional morphologybased identification methods such as scanning electron microscope(SEM)and ZOOSCAN and FlowCAM automatic systems, and DNA-based strategies such as metabarcoding and real-time quantitative PCR.In addition,we summarize advantages and disadvantages of these methods when applied for monitoring impacted ecosystems, and we propose practical DNA-based monitoring workflows for studying biological consequences of environmental pollution in freshwater ecosystems. Finally,we propose possible solutions for existing technical issues to improve accuracy and efficiency of DNA-based biodiversity monitoring.Wei Xiong Xuena Huang Yiyong Chen Ruiying Fu Xun Du Xingyu Chen Aibin Zhan 2020Environmental Science and Ecotechnology2020,,1:0
SSEM: Secure, Scalable and Efficient Multi-Owner Data Sharing in Clouds显示文摘Data sharing is a main application of cloud computing. Some existing solutions are proposed to provide flexible access control for outsourced data in the cloud. However, few attentions have been paid to group-oriented data sharing when multiple data owners want to share their private data for cooperative purposes. In this paper, we put forward a new paradigm, referred to as secure, scalable and efficient multi-owner(SSEM) data sharing in clouds. The SSEM integrates identity-based encryption and asymmetric group key agreement to enable group-oriented access control for data owners in a many-to-many sharing pattern. Moreover, with SSEM, users can join in or leave from the group conveniently with the privacy of both group data and user data.We proposed the key-ciphertext homomorphism technique to construct an SSEM scheme with short ciphertexts. The security analysis shows that our SSEM scheme achieves data security against unauthorized accesses and collusion attacks. Both theoretical and experimental results confirm that our proposed scheme takes users little costs to share and access outsourced data in a group manner.Shungan Zhou Ruiying Du Jing Chen Hua Deng Jian Shen Huanguo Zhang 2016China Communications2016,13,8:0
Enhancing Security of the Reduced-Operation Two-Factor Authentication by Using Ambient WiFi显示文摘Recently several reduced-operation two Factor authentication(2FA) methods have been proposed to improve the usability of traditional 2FA. The existing works cannot protect the user's password from online guessing attack and offline dictionary attack. They cannot resist the identity fraud attack caused by co-located attackers who have obtained the victim's password. To solve these problems, we provide a Wi Fi-based 2FA approach which can enhance security of the reduced-operation 2FA but not increase the complexity of the operation for a user.We analyze our approach's security in terms of identity fraud attack resistance, salt guessing attack resistance, and password guessing attack resistance. We also implement a prototype system and test its performance in various scenarios, e.g. lab, library, and dormitory. The security analysis and experimental results show the effectiveness of our scheme for authentication.LIU Dong CHEN Jing DU Ruiying ZHANG Huanguo 2018Chinese Journal of Electronics2018,27,3:0
