| 1 | Subthreshold micropulse laser versus intravitreal anti-VEGF for diabetic macular edema patients with relatively better visual acuity显示文摘AIM:To compare the effects of yellow(577 nm)subthreshold micropulse laser(SML)and intravitreal(IV)anti-vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)treatment in patients with diabetic macular edema(DME)with relatively better visual acuity[best corrected visual acuity(BCVA)≤0.15 log MAR].METHODS:The medical records of 76 eyes of 47 patients underwent IV(0.5 mg)anti-VEGF injection or SML for the DME with relatively better BCVA were reviewed.The IV group received three consecutive monthly IV anti-VEGF injections,then were retreated as needed.The laser treatment group was treated at baseline and 3 mo,and then retreated at 6 and 9 mo if needed.All participants were followed up for one year.The mean BCVA and mean central macular thickness(CMT)values changes over the follow-up were evaluated.RESULTS:Twenty-four and 23 patients were assigned to the SML and IV subgroups,respectively.The mean number of treatments was 3.64±0.76 in SML group and 5.85±1.38 in IV group(P<0.05).The subgroups were similar with regard to the mean BCVA score at baseline and at the 1st and 3rd months,but the score of SML group was better than that of IV group at the 6th,9th,and 12th months(P<0.05).The decrease in the mean CMT values from baseline values was higher in SML group at the 6th,9th,and 12th months(P<0.05).CONCLUSION:Yellow SML treatment is superior to IV anti-VEGF injection in DME patients with relatively better BCVA for increasing visual acuity and decreasing CMT at 6,9,and 12 mo.SML can be a good alternative first-line therapy for DME with BCVA≤0.15 log MAR. | Sezen Akkaya Banu Acιkalιn Yusuf Emre Dogan Fatih Coban | 2020 | International Journal of Ophthalmology(English edition)2020，13，10： | 2 |

| 8 | Characterization of genomic,physiological,and probiotic features Lactiplantibacillus plantarum DY46 strain isolated from traditional lactic acid fermented shalgam beverage显示文摘Lactiplantibacillus plantarum is a significant probiotic where it could be found in ubiquitous niches.In this study,a new Lb.plantarum strain DY46 was isolated from a traditional lactic-acid-fermented beverage called shalgam.The whole genome of the DY46 was sequenced and obtained sequences were assembled into a 3.32 Mb draft genome using PATRIC(3.6.8.).The DY46 genome consists of a single circular chromosome of 3,332,827 bp that is predicted to carry 3219 genes,including 61 tRNA genes,2 rRNA operons.The genome has a GC content of 44.3%includes 98 predicted pseudogenes,25 complete or partial transposases and 3 intact prophages.The genes encoding enzymes related in the intact EMP(Embden-Meyerhof-Parnas)and PK(phosphoketolase)pathways were predicted using BlastKOALA which is an indicator of having facultative heterofermentative pathways.DY46 genome also predicted to carry genes of Pln E,Pln F and Pln K showing the antimicrobial potential of this bacterium which can be linked to in vitro antagonism tests that DY46 can inhibit S.enterica sv.Typhimurium ATCC14028,K.pneumonie ATCC13883,and P.vulgaris ATCC8427.Moreover,it is determined that all resistome found in its genome were intrinsically originated and the strain was found to be tolerant to acid and bile concentrations by mimicking human gastrointestinal conditions.In conclusion,L.plantarum DY46 is a promising bacterium that appears to have certain probiotic properties,confirmed by“in vitro”and“in silico”analyses,and is a potential dietary supplement candidate that may provide functional benefits to the host. | Ahmet E.Yetiman Abdullah Keskin Büs¸ra Nur Darendeli Seyfullah Enes Kotil Fatih Ortakci Mahmut Dogan | 2022 | Food Bioscience2022，46，2： | 0 |
| 9 | Effect of nepafenac 0.1% on retinal thickness after cataract surgery in patients without risk factors for cystoid macular edema显示文摘AIM:To evaluate the effect of topical preoperative nepafenac 0.1%treatment on postoperative macular edema using optical coherence tomography(OCT)after uncomplicated cataract surgery.METHODS:Ninety eyes of 90 patients without any risk factors were included in the study.The patients were assigned to three groups:group 1,treated with topical prednisolone acetate 1%;group 2,treated with topical nepafenac 0.1%in addition to prednisolone acetate(1%);and group 3,those who started receiving nepafenac 0.1%treatment 3 d prior to surgery and continued the treatment postoperatively in addition to prednisolone acetate(1%).Central retinal thickness(CRT)and macular volume values were recorded using OCT at weeks 3 and 6.RESULTS:The increases in macular volume in the central 1 mm area after 3 and 6 wk were significantly lower in patients who used prophylactic topical nepafenac preoperatively(group 3)compared with those in group 1(P=0.028 and 0.008,respectively).No significant differences in the increase in macular volume and CRT were noted between groups 2 and 3(P>0.05).In group 1,the increases in macular volume in the central 3 mm area at weeks 3 and 6 were significantly higher than that in group 2 and 3(3rd week,P=0.004;6th week,P=0.005).CONCLUSION:Nepafenac 0.1%treatment in addition to topical steroids after uncomplicated cataract surgery reduce the increase in macular volume in the early postoperative period. | Asena Keles Sahin Ahmet Sahap Kükner Fatih Ulas Umit Dogan | 2020 | International Journal of Ophthalmology(English edition)2020，13，12： | 0 |

| 11 | Relation of binge eating disorder with impulsiveness in obese individuals显示文摘AIM To investigate the levels of impulsiveness, and the relationship between the binge eating disorder(BED) and the levels of impulsiveness in obese individuals.METHODS Two hundred and forty-one obese patients who were included in the study and candidate for bariatric surgery(weight loss surgery) were clinically interviewed to identify the BED group, and patients were divided into two groups: Those with BED and those without BED. The comorbidity rate of groups was determined by using structured clinical interview for DSM-Ⅳ(SCID-Ⅰ). A sociodemographic data form including the story of previous psychiatric treatment, structured clinical interview for DSM-Ⅳ(SCID-Ⅰ), Beck Anxiety Inventory, Beck Depression Inventory(BDI) and Barratt Impulsiveness Scale-11 were applied to both of the groups.RESULTS In regard to 241 obese individuals included in the study, total score and score of attention subscale for BED(+) group were significantly high(P < 0.05). | 13 | 在试验性的糖尿病的 3 个层次建模的网膜的 VEGF, TNF,和 caspase 上的 intravitreal bevacizumab 和 intravitreal fasudil 的效果的比较显示文摘AIM: To evaluate the influence of an intravitreal injection of bevacizumab and fasudil on the retinal vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF),tumor necrosis factor alpha(TNFα),and caspase 3 levels in a diabetic rabbit model. · METHODS: The study included 6 healthy rabbits(Group 1),6 rabbits with experimentally induced diabetes mellitus(DM)(Group 2),7 rabbits with experimentally induced DM to which intravitreal bevacizumab was administered(Group 3),and 7 rabbits with experimentally induced DM to which intravitreal fasudil was administered(Group 4). An intravitreal injection of 1.25mg/50μL bevacizumab in the right eye of rabbits in Group 3 and an intravitreal injection of 0.0064mg/50μL fasudil in the right eye of rabbits in Group 4 were administered on day 21 after the induction of DM. The studied eyes of the rabbits were enucleated three days after the intravitreal injection. The TNFα,VEGF,and caspase 3 levels were determined using the ELISA method. · RESULTS: There was a statistically significant difference in the VEGF and caspase 3 levels between groups(P =0.005 and P =0.013,respectively),but the TNF α level did not differ significantly between groups(P = 0.792). It was found that VEGF levels were significantly lower in Group 1 and Group 3 than in Group 2 using the Mann-Whitney U test with the Bonferroni correction(P = 0.004 for both comparison). There was no statistically significant difference between other groups with regard to VEGF levels(the P value ranged between 0.015 and 0.886). Although the P values of the caspase 3 levels were 0.015 for Group 1 and Group 4,0.038 for Group 2and Group 3,and 0.018 for Group 3 and Group 4,these P values remained above the threshold P value of 0.0083,which was the statistically significant level for post hoc tests. ·CONCLUSION: An intravitreal injection of bevacizumab decreased both the VEGF level,which plays a role in angiogenesis,and the caspase 3 level,which plays a role in apoptosis.
