| 1 | Monitoring of atmospheric radionuclides from the Fukushima nuclear accident and assessing their impact on Xi'an, China显示文摘Aerosol radionuclides (131I, 134Cs, 137Cs) and gaseous radioactive xenon (133Xe) were monitored at Xi'an, China following the accident at the Fukushima nuclear power plant in March 2011. The additional annual effective dose attributable to the Fukushima emissions was much lower than the public annual effective dose from natural radiation, according to Chinese national standards. The monitoring results were compared with data from other countries as well as with the radionuclide concentrations observed in Xi'an after the Chernobyl nuclear accident in 1986. Possible transport pathways of the released radionuclides from Fukushima to Xi'an were investigated. | 4 | Study on Sampling Technique of Atmospheric Radionuclide显示文摘Atmospheric radionuclide monitoring usually includes two sampling techniques,namely ultra-high volume aerosol samplers to collect atmospheric particles by using filter media,and radioactive noble gas samplers to collect atmospheric noble gas based on adsorption method. Atmospheric sampling techniques have been researched in Northwest Institute of Nuclear Technology since the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty( CTBT) was signed in 1996. Several ultra-high volume aerosol samplers and some types of radioactive xenon isotopes samplers had been developed. For the aerosol sampler,the sampling flow is between 450 and 800 m3/h,with the minimum detectable concentration( MDC) of131 I less than5 μBq /m3. For the xenon sampler,the sampling capacity of xenon is more than 4 ml per day,with MDC of133 Xe less than 0. 25 mBq /m3. | 5 | 4-6 Measurement of the Ratio of C3+ and O4+ Ions Produced by ECR Source to Prepare a Laser Cooling Experiment at Storage Rings显示文摘The cooling of heavy ions can provide high-quality beams that are especially important for high-precisionexperimental nuclear and atomic physics. The laser cooling of relativistic C3+ ion beams at the experimental coolerstorage ring (CSRe) is being currently prepared at Institute of Modern Physics (IMP) in Lanzhou. An electroncyclotron resonance ion source (ECRIS) will be used to produce C3+ ion beams. Meanwhile, O4+ ions could alsobe produced due to residual gas because of the same mass-to-charge ratio. Therefore, both C3+ and O4+ ion beamswill be injected and circulate in a storage ring during the laser cooling experiment at the same time.
